1Clinicopathological features of gastric glomus tumor显示文摘AIM:To study the clinicopathological features of gastric glomus tumor and review the related Chinese literature published in 1990-2010.METHODS:A case of gastric glomus tumor was re-ported.Clinicopathological findings in 56 cases of gastric glomus tumor were analyzed.RESULTS:Gastric glomus tumor was far more common in women than in men with a female to male ratio of 1.6:1.The median age of the patients was 45 years(range 28-79 years).The patients often complained of epigastric pain and bloody stool.The tumor was located in antrum of the stomach.The greatest diameter of the tumor was 0.8-11cm.Histologically,the tumor was comprised of nests of glomus cells surrounding the capillaries.Glomus cells were small,uniform and round.Vimentin,smooth muscle actin and actin were expressed in the tumor.Other markers,including S-100 protein,CD34,CD117,desmin,CD56,synaptophysin,chromo-granin A,neuron specific enolase and cytokeratin were all negative.CONCLUSION:Gastric glomus tumor is a rare benign mesenchymal neoplasm.Its diagnosis depends on pathologic examination.Differential diagnosis includes gastrointestinal stromal tumor,paraganglioma and carcinoid tumor.Hui-Qiong Fang,Jing Yang,Fen-Fen Zhang,An-Jia Han,Department of Pathology,First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University,Guangzhou 510080,Guangdong Province,China Hui-Qiong Fang,Department of Pathology,Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Foshan 528000,Guangdong Province,China Jing Yang,Department of Pathology,People’s Hospital of Zhu-hai City,Zhuhai 519000,Guangdong Province,China Yi Cui,Department of Gastroenterology,First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University,Guangzhou 510080,Guangdong Province,China 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,36:28
2A Breather in Birefringent Fibers显示文摘The propagation properties of the breather in birefringent fibers are investigated. The breather can propagate stably in strongly birefringent fibers. The propagation law can be expected. However, random birefringence makes the propagation of the breather more complex. The breather will partly disappear and partly appear, even may split into two smaller breathers. In addition, the varying range of relative time displacement between two components of the breather becomes narrower with the effect of third-order dispersion. If third order dispersion is too strong, the breather behavior will disappear gradually during the transmission. 3Changes in plant species composition and diversity of alpine Kobresia (Kobresia pygmaea) steppe meadow at different stages of desertification in the North Tibetan plateau显示文摘The impacts of desertification on the vegetation composition, structure, and species diversity of alpine Kobresia steppe meadow were evaluated in an area of severe desertification in Anduo County, Tibet Autonomous Region, northern China. We investigated and analyzed the floristic features of communities at four different stages of desertification (slight desertification [SLD], moderate desertification [MD], severe desertification [SD], and very severe desertification [VSD]). The composition and structure of the alpine Kobresia steppe meadow at the SLD site differed significantly from that at the MD, SD, and VSD sites. Species that were more drought resistant and inedible by livestock were the dominant species at the SD site. No plants were found in the shifting dunes of the VSD site. Species diversity also decreased with increasing desertification. The SLD site had the largest mean number of species and individuals and the largest richness index; the MD grassland had the largest Shannon-Wiener index and evenness index, but the smallest Simpson's index. 4The causes and processes responsible for rocky desertification in karst areas of southern China显示文摘The karst region of southern China is a fragile ecological zone with widespread rocky desertification. This paper describes the rocky desertification occurring in this region in terms of both natural and anthropogenic factors. During geological time periods, the region's changing environment governed the natural rocky desertification processes, whereas during historical and modern times, anthropogenic processes have been superimposed on these natural processes. Human activities have accelerated and exacerbated rocky desertification. The period from the beginning to the middle of the Qing dynasty was an important transitional period in which human activities began to exert a particularly strong influence on rocky desertification. Since then, the effect of anthropogenic factors has increasingly exceeded the effect of natural factors. The rocky desertification process in southern China's karst region combines surface ecological processes (including vegetation degradation and loss, soil erosion, surface water loss, and bedrock solution) with a reduction of the land's biological productivity, leading to degradation that produces rocky desert. 9The Deterioration of Refractive Accommodative Esotropia显示文摘Purpose: To discuss the prevalence of deterioration and factors which may influence deterioration .Methods: Records of 137 patients with the diagnosis of refractive accommodative esotropia who were followed for a period of at least 5 years were reviewed.Results: Twenty-three of the 137 patients (16.8%) deteriorated. Deterioration was most likely to occur in patients with a breakdown of the sensory status, or where anti-accommodative therapy was delayed. The age of onset, refractive status, and VA difference between two eyes were not etiologic factors in the process of deterioration.Conclusions: We think that early diagnosis of accommodative esotropia,timely prescription of optical correction and maintenance of binocularity play an important role in preventing deterioration from occurring. 12CHARACTERISTICS,ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION AGES OF AEOLIAN SAND IN THE SAHELIAN REGION OF MALI显示文摘The Sahelian region of Mali is one of the areas seriously affected by sandy desertitication in the world.Widely distributed aeolian sand lays a material basis for the development of sandy desertification. Aeolian sand in the region is dominated by fine sand, followed by very fine sand. Sand materials contained in various sand dunes are different in grain size to a certain extent and the mineral compositions of dune sand are dondnated by stable and extreme stable minerals, with high stability and maturity. Aeolian sand in the region mainly comes from the reachvation of ancient sand dunes, the transportation of recent runing water and the sand supply of dry lakes and arroyos. 13Soil erosion risk evaluation using GIS in the Yuanmou County,a dry-hot valley of Yunnan, China显示文摘Soil erosion is a major threat to sustainable agriculture. Evaluating regional erosion risk is increasingly needed by national and in-ternational environmental agencies. This study elaborates a model (using spatial principal component analysis [SPCA]) method for the evaluation of soil erosion risk in a representative area of dry-hot valley (Yuanmou County) at a scale of 1:100,000 using a spatial database and GIS. The model contains seven factors: elevation, slope, annual precipitation, land use, vegetation, soil, and population density. The evaluation results show that five grades of soil erosion risk: very low, low, medium, high, and very high. These are divided in the study area, and a soil erosion risk evaluation map is created. 14Effects of Buyang Huanwu decoction and Astragalus mongholicus on platelet activating factor receptor activity in rabbits in vitro显示文摘BACKGROUND:The pharmacological action of traditional Chinese medicine compound is the comprehensive effect of the various ingredients,and the interactions of various ingredients are closely correlated with the final effect.In order to reveal the compatibility mechanism of BHD's prescription in treating and preventing ischemic cerebrovascular disease,we needed explore the effect and relation of ingredients in the prescription.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BHD)and Astragalus mongholicus on the activity of platelet activating factor receptor(PAFR)in the platelet of rabbits in vitro,and investigate the mechanism of Astragalus mongholicus.DESIGN:A decomposed recipes study.SETTING:Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.MATERIALS:Five New Zealand rabbits,weighing 2-3 kg,both sexes,were used.BHD was composed of Sheng Huang Qi 120 g,Dang Gui Wei 6 g,Chi Shao 4.5 g,Chuan Xiong 3 g,Di Long 3 g,Tao Ren 3 g,Hong Hua 3 g.The prescription for activating blood circulation consisted of Dang Gui Wei 6 g,Chi Shao 4.5 g,Chuan Xiong 3 g,Di Long 3 g,Tao Ren 3 g and Hong Hua 3 g.The prescription for invigorating qi consisted of 120 g Sheng Huang Qi.The prepared herbal pieces were purchased from the traditional Chinese medicine Dispensary of Foshan Second People's Hospital,and appraised by Professor Xu from Science of Chinese Materia Medica College,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.3H-PAF was supplied by Amersham Co.,Ltd.(specific activity:6.475 TBq/mmol;batch number:200402);PAF standard by Biomol Co.,Ltd.(batch number:P1318V).METHODS:The experiments were carried out in the Laboratory of Nuclear Medicine,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September to December 2004.①Injections of BHD,prescriptions for activating blood circulation and invigorating qi were prepared by the decoction and alcohol sedimentation technique.Rabbit common carotid artery blood(40 mL)was drawn via intubation to prepare platelet suspension of (0.8-1.0) ×1010L-1.②Determination of 3H-PAF and washed PAFR binding:The general combination tube(T) contained washed platelet-rich plasma(WPRP)380μL +3H-PAF(0.35 nmol/L)10μL+distilled water 5μL:The nonspecific binding tube(P)contained WPRP 380μL+3H-PAF(0.35 nmol/L)10μL+cold PAF(1μmol/L)5μL:The sample tube(Y)contained WPRP 380μL+3H-PAF(0.35 nmol/L)10μL+experimental medicine(injection of BHD,prescriptions for activating blood circulation or invigorating qi)5μL.The test was conducted for three times for each sample in the same way as mentioned above.The samples were shaken on the oscillator for 30 s,then bathed at 25℃ for 40 minutes,and the reaction was terminated with cold Tris buffer containing 0.1% BSA.multichannel cell detachment separator was used for vacuum suction to filter the separated free 3H-PAF,and the filter paper was washed with cold Tris buffer for four times,then dried in the baking oven(80℃)for 1 hour,and placed in xylol liquid scintillator,and the radioactivity was determined automatically by the liquid scintillation detector.The mean of the three parallel tubes was calculated.The specific binging inhibition rate was calculated:SBIR=[(T-Y)/(T-P)]×100%].③Univariate analysis of variance was conducted.And for comparison of each paired groups,the q test was adopted.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Effect of BHD whole prescription,prescriptions for activating blood circulation and invigorating qi on the specific binding inhibition rate of 3H-PAF and PAFR.RESULTS: BHD,prescriptions for activating blood circulation and invigorating qi were all able to inhibit the specific binding of 3H-PAF to PAFR,the specific blinding inhibition rates were(45.90±7.50)%.(97.90±1.84)% and(26.75±2.48)%,respectively,and there were significant differences between every two groups(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Single Astragalus mongholicus(120 g)can inhibit the specific blinding of PAFR in the platelet of the rabbit with 3H-PAF,but the combination of Astragalus mongholicus with the drugs for activating blood circulation in BHD can significantly decrease the inhibiting action of the latter on PAFR activity of the platelet,reflecting the combined mechanism of 'removing blood stasis without injuring the vital qi'in BHD.Hui Yao1, Jiping Zhang2, Zhixi Chen3, Yongjie Wu4, Zhiqiang Li3 1Department of Pharmacy, 2Department of Science Education, Foshan Second People’s Hospital, Foshan 528000, Guangdong Province, China 3Laboratory of Nuclear Medicine, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou 510405, Guangdong Province, China 4Department of Pharmacology, College of Pharmaceutical Science, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou 730000, Gansu Province, China 2006Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,7:0
15Expression of nitric oxide synthase in the spinal cord after selective brachial plexus injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Some researches showed that motoneurons in spinal cord anterior horn wound die following brachial plexus injury, but the concrete mechanism of motoneurons death remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: To observe the expression of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and survival of C7 motoneurons in spinal cord of rats after selective brachial plexus injury. DESIGN: A randomized controlled animal experiment. SETTING:Department of Anatomy, Sun Yet-sen Medical College, Sun Yet-sen University. MATERIALS: Totally 35 adult healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats with the body mass of 200-300 g were provided by Experimental Animal Center, Sun Yet-sen Medical College, Sun Yat-sen University. The rats were divided into control group (n =5) and experimental group(n =30) by random number table method, and the experimental group was divided into three injury subgroups: anterior root avulsion group, dorsal root transection group and spinal cord hemisection group, 10 rats in each group. There were horse anti-neuronal NOS (nNOS) polycolonal antibody (Sigma company) and nicotina mideadeninedinucleotide phosphate (NADPH-d) (Sigma Company). METHODS: The experiment was performed at Department of Anatomy, Sun Yet-sen Medical College, Sun Yet-sen University between September 2004 and April 2005. ①After anesthetizing the rats, the spinous process of second thoracic vertebra as a marker, the vertebra was exposed from C5 to T1 and the lamina of vertebra was unclenched, and spinal dura mater was carved to expose the spinal nerve dorsal roots of C5-T1. The right ventral root of C7 was avulsed, and the residual root was removed in anterior root avulsion group. The right ventral root of C7 was avulsed and the right dorsal roots of brachial plexus (C5-T1) were cut off in dorsal root transection group. In spinal cord hemisection group, the hemisection between the C5 and C6 spinal segment on right side and avulsion of right ventral root of C7 were made. In the control group, the vertebra from C5 to T1 was unclenched and the skin of wound was sutured. ②Three weeks after operation, behavior of rats was observed. The rats were killed after anesthesia. The C7 segment of spinal cord was removed and treated with NADPH-d staining, neutral red counterstaining and NOS immunohistochemistry staining to detect the expression of NOS. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The expression of NOS and survival of C7 motoneurons in spinal cord of rats 3 weeks after operation. RESULTS: Among the 35 included rats, 3 rats died 2 weeks following operation, so totally 32 rats were involved in the result analysis. ①NADPH-d positive neurons of in anterior horn of C7 in the three groups: The NADPH-d positive neurons could be found in anterior horn of C7 in the three groups. The percentage of that in anterior root avulsion group to that of non-injury side of spinal cord was(20.98±2.65)%, (29.43±6.81)% in dorsal root transection group and (31.74±6.80)% in spinal cord hemisection group. There was significant difference among the three injury groups(F =5.135,P =0.016). There was significant difference in anterior root avulsion group with dorsal root transection group and spinal cord hemisection group (t =2.562,3.167,P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the dorsal root transection group and spinal cord hemisection group (P =0.534). ②survival rate of motoneurons in anterior horn of C7: There were dead motoneurons in the three injury groups, the percentages of surviving motoneurons to that of non-injured side of spinal cord were (69.22±4.04)%,(62.01±3.82)% and (56.74±6.86)%, respectively. There were significant differences among the three groups (F =9.508,P =0.002). The anterior root avulsion group was significantly different from the other two groups(t =2.764,4.587,P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the dorsal root transection group and spinal cord hemisection group(P =0.073). CONCLUSION: The selective brachial plexus injury can induce the up-regulation of NOS expression in motorneurons of spinal cord anterior horn and block descending pathway of cortex to cause the more significant up-regulation of NOS and low survival rate in motoneurons. 16The Designation Method of Bend Forming Dies for Aluminum Tube of PE-Al-PE Composite Pipe显示文摘The PE-Al-PE composite pipe is a multiplayer pipe t hat is composed of PE (polyethylene) and Aluminum. Al is inlayed the inner PE la yer and the outer PE layer. In the producing technological process of this kind of pipe the bend forming of Al belt to tube is very important. It is the bend fo rming dies that are used in the process of producing PE-Al-PE pipe that is stu died in this article. To make a elaborate division, these dies can be classified as bending dies and forming dies here. In this paper, the designation of bendin g dies and forming dies that are used in producing technological process of PE- Al-PE pipe is put forward. The process starts from a coil of Al belt, in the ac tion of pulling force, passes between several bending dies to change its shape. The first step is to change Al belt to U shape. A couple of rolling wheels can b e used to shape the Al belt. The Al belt goes between the two rolling wheels, dr ives the wheels, at the same time is formed as the shape of the rolling wheels. Considering of the factors such as spring of the bend Al belt, frictional force between Al and the die, bending force needed to bend Al belt, etc., it must be s haped gradually into U by several dies. The designation of these dies has been g iven in this paper. The next step is to forming the U shape into a circle. The U shape Al belt goes through a round that is formed with a four-roller die, and then is shaped to a circle. Because the latter procedure requires the Al circle has a laminated area to be ultrasonic welded, this die must be designed to let t he two edges of the circle belt to be piled up to a definite width. But except f or the laminated area the other of the circle should be as round as possible. So the four rollers are not the same. The calculation and designation of the rolle rs of this four-roller die has also been given. The designation of the roller w hich is supposed to leave a gap to let the two edges of the circle belt to be pi led up is to make a fine rotation of an original circle. Then calculates the cen ter of the rotated arc and defines the arc completely. 19Epidemiologic surve of Overweight and obesity among residents aged≥60 years in ronggui community显示文摘Objectives To investigate prevalence of overweight and obesity among residents aged 3≥60 years in ronggui community.Methods 1372 ones(570 males,802 females,68.03±6.62 years) Of total 1503 residents aged≥60 years in the 2 villages which were randomly exampled in rong-gui community were investigated.857 ones aged among 60-69 years(62.5%),416 ones aged among 70-79 years (30.3%),99 ones aged≥60 years(7.2%).Investigative items included age,sex,body height,body weight,waist circumference(WC),hip circumference(HC)、fasting plasma glucose(FG),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood pressure,history of past illness,body mass index(BMI),waist hip ratio(WHR) and waist height ratio(WHtR).Results (1)Of total 1372 residents,the combined prevalence of overweight and obesity was 39.4%.Prevalence of overweight, obesity were 29.4%,10.0%respectively.Prevalence of overweight, obesity of male were 30.8%,6.0%,and female, 28.5%,12.8%respectively.Prevalence of overweight,obesity of residents aged 60-69 years were 31.2%,11.3%,70-79 years were 27.0%,9.1%and≥80 years were 25.2%,2.0% respectively.The difference between male and female、among three age groups were not significant.(2)Of total 1372 residents, prevalence of central adiposity were 34.6%,male was 15.9%and female was 52.4%,female signifleanfly higher than male(P<0.01).(3)The FG^TG.SBP^DBP of residents with overweight、obesity or central adiposity were higher than residents with normal weight or WC(P<0.01).(4)By Pearson correlation analysis,we found that overweight、obesity and central adiposity were obviously correlated with FG、TG、SBP、DBP(P<0.01),were not correlated with TC(P>0.05). 20Epidemiologic surve of blood lipid level among 1401 residents aged≥60 years in rong-gui community显示文摘Objectives To investigate prevalence of blood lipid level among 1401 residents aged≥60 years in rong-gui community.Methods 1401 ones(579 males,822 females, (68.12±6.64)years Of total 1503 residents aged≥60 years in the 2 villages which were randomly exampled in rong-gui community were investigated.867 ones aged among 60-69 years(61.9%),430 ones aged among 70-79 years (30.7%),104 ones aged≥60 years(7.4%).Investigative items included age,sex,total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride (TG),body height,body weight,waist circumference(WC), hip circumference(HC),fasting plasma glucose(FG),blood pressure,history of past illness,body mass index(BMI), waist hip ratio(WHR),waist height ratio(WHtR).Results (l)Of total 1401 residents,Prevalence of hyperlipemia were 42.8%,female were signifleanfly higher than male(P<0.01), The difference among three age groups were not significant, the combined prevalence of hyperlipemia and borderline hyperlipemia was 80.1%.(2)The FG、BMI、SBP、DBP、WC、WHR、WHtR of residents with hyperlipemia were higher than ones with normal blood lipid level(P<0.01).(3)By Pearson correlation analysis,we found that hyperlipemia was obviously correlated with FG,BMI,WC,WHR,WHtR, SBP,DBP.Conclusions(1)Prevalence of hyperlipemia were 42.8%,female were signifleanfly higher than male.(2) hyperlipemia were obviously correlated with higher FG、BMI、WC、WHR、WHtR、SBP、DBP.ZHOU Yue-ying,LV Lan-zhu,CHEN Jing-hua (The Guizhou Hospital of Shunde District,Fushan 528000, China) 2011岭南心血管病杂志2011,17,S1:0
