1Substitutional doping in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)are a new class of electronic materials offering tremendous opportunities for advanced technologies and fundamental studies.Similar to conventional semiconductors,substitutional doping is key to tailoring their electronic properties and enabling their device applications.Here,we review recent progress in doping methods and understanding of doping effects in group 6 TMDs(MX2,M=Mo,W;X=S,Se,Te),which are the most widely studied model 2D semiconductor system.Experimental and theoretical studies have shown that a number of different elements can substitute either M or X atoms in these materials and act as n-or p-type dopants.This review will survey the impact of substitutional doping on the electrical and optical properties of these materials,discuss open questions,and provide an outlook for further studies.Leyi Loh Zhepeng Zhang Michel Bosman Goki Eda 2021Nano Research2021,14,6:4

3Prediction of delayed graft function using different scoring algorithms: A single-center experience显示文摘AIM To compare the performance of 3 published delayed graftfunction(DGF) calculators that compute the theoretical risk of DGF for each patient.METHODS This single-center,retrospective study included 247 consecutive kidney transplants from a deceased donor.These kidney transplantations were performed at our institution between January 2003 and December 2012.We compared the occurrence of observed DGF in our cohort with the predicted DGF according to three different published calculators. The accuracy of the calculators was evaluated by means of the c-index(receiver operating characteristic curve).RESULTS DGF occurred in 15.3% of the transplants under study.The c index of the Irish calculator provided an area under the curve(AUC) of 0.69 indicating an acceptable level of prediction,in contrast to the poor performance of the Jeldres nomogram(AUC = 0.54) and the Chapal nomogram(AUC = 0.51). With the Irish algorithm the predicted DGF risk and the observed DGF probabilities were close. The mean calculated DGF risk was significantly different between DGF-positive and DGF-negative subjects(P < 0.0001). However,at the level of the individual patient the calculated risk of DGF overlapped very widely with ranges from 10% to 51% for recipients with DGF and from 4% to 56% for those without DGF.The sensitivity,specificity and positive predictive value of a calculated DGF risk ≥ 30% with the Irish nomogram were 32%,91% and 38%. 5A scheme for simulating multi-level phase change photonics materials显示文摘Chalcogenide phase change materials(PCMs)have been extensively applied in data storage,and they are now being proposed for high resolution displays,holographic displays,reprogrammable photonics,and all-optical neural networks.These wide-ranging applications all exploit the radical property contrast between the PCMs’different structural phases,extremely fast switching speed,long-term stability,and low energy consumption.Designing PCM photonic devices requires an accurate model to predict the response of the device during phase transitions.Here,we describe an approach that accurately predicts the microstructure and optical response of phase change materials during laser induced heating.The framework couples the Gillespie Cellular Automata approach for modelling phase transitions with effective medium theory and Fresnel equations.The accuracy of the approach is verified by comparing the PCM’s optical response and microstructure evolution with the results of nanosecond laser switching experiments.We anticipate that this approach to simulating the switching response of PCMs will become an important component for designing and simulating programmable photonics devices.The method is particularly important for predicting the multi-level optical response of PCMs,which is important for all-optical neural networks and PCM-programmable perceptrons.Yunzheng Wang Jing Ning Li Lu Michel Bosman Robert E.Simpson 2021npj Computational Materials2021,,1:2
