10Chrysophanol protects against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity by suppressing cellular PARylation显示文摘The clinical application of doxorubicin(DOX) in cancer chemotherapy is limited by its lifethreatening cardiotoxic effects. Chrysophanol(CHR), an anthraquinone compound isolated from the rhizome of Rheum palmatum L., is considered to play a broad role in a variety of biological processes.However, the effects of CHR’s cardioprotection in DOX-induced cardiomyopathy is poorly understood. In this study, we found that the cardiac apoptosis, mitochondrial injury and cellular PARylation levels were significantly increased in H9 C2 cells treated by Dox, while these effects were suppressed by CHR. Similar results were observed when PARP1 activity was suppressed by its inhibitors 3-aminobenzamide(3 AB)and ABT888. Ectopic expression of PARP1 effectively blocked this CHR’s cardioprotection against DOX-induced cardiomyocyte injury in H9 C2 cells. Furthermore, pre-administration with both CHR and 3 AB relieved DOX-induced cardiac apoptosis, mitochondrial impairment and heart dysfunction in Sprague–Dawley rat model. 13Genome evolution trend of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) as revealed by the analysis of microsatellite loci in a gynogentic family显示文摘Genome evolution arises from two main ways of duplication and reduction. Fish specific genome duplication (FSGD) may have occurred before the radiation of the teleosts. Common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) has been considered to be a tetraploid species, because of its chromosome numbers (2n=100) and its high DNA content. Using 69 microsatellite primer pairs, the variations were studied to better understand the genome evolution (genome duplication and diploidization) of common carp from a gynogenetic family. About 48% of primer pairs were estimated to amplify duplicates based on the number of PCR amplification per individual. Segregation patterns in the family suggested a partially duplicated genome structure and disomic inheritance. This indicates that the common carp is tetraploid and polyploidy occurred by allotetraploidy. Two primer pairs (HLJ021 and HLJ332) were estimated to amplify reduction based on the number of PCR amplification per individual. One allele in HLJ002 locus and HLJ332 locus was clearly lost in the gynogenetic family and the same as in six wild populations. Segregation patterns in the family suggested a partially diplodization genome structure. 15Geochemical characteristics and tectonic setting of the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion in West Junggar,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Mineral chemistry,whole-rock major oxide,and trace element compositions have been determined for the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion,in order to understand the early Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the West Junggar orogenic belt at the southern margin of the Central Asian orogenic belt.The Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion is a well-differentiated complex comprising peridotite,olivine pyroxenite,gabbro,and diorite.The ultramafic rocks are mostly seen in the central part of the intrusion and surrounded by mafic rocks.The Tuerkubantao intrusive rocks are characterized by enrichment of large ion lithophile elements and depleted high field strength elements relative to N-MORB.In addition,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays relatively low Th/U and Nb/U(1.13—2.98 and 2.53—7.02,respectively) and high La/Nb and Ba/Nb(1.15—4.19 and 37.7—79.82,respectively).These features indicate that the primary magma of the intrusion was derived from partial melting of a previously metasomatized mantle source in a subduction setting.The trace element patterns of peridotites,gabbros,and diorite in the Tuerkubantao intrusion have sub-parallel trends,suggesting that the different rock types are related to each other by differentiation of the same primary magma.The intrusive contact between peridotite and gabbro clearly suggest that the Tuerkubantao is not a fragment of an ophiolite.However,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays many similarities with Alaskan-type mafic-ultramafic intrusions along major sutures of Phanerozoic orogenic belts.Common features include their geodynamic setting,internal lithological zoning,and geochemistry.The striking similarities indicate that the middle Devonian Tuerkubantao intrusion likely formed in a subduction-related setting similar to that of the Alaskan-type intrusions.In combination with the Devonian magmatism and porphyry mineralization,we propose that subduction of the oceanic slab has widely existed in the expansive oceans during the Devonian around the Junggar block.Yufeng Deng Feng Yuan Taofa Zhou Chao Xu Dayu Zhang Xuji Guo 2015Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2:4

17Pharmacological and cardiovascular perspectives on the treatment of COVID-19 with chloroquine derivatives显示文摘The novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)causes coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and an ongoing severe pandemic.Curative drugs specific for COVID-19 are currently lacking.Chloroquine phosphate and its derivative hydroxychloroquine,which have been used in the treatment and prevention of malaria and autoimmune diseases for decades,were found to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection with high potency in vitro and have shown clinical and virologic benefits in COVID-19 patients.Therefore,chloroquine phosphate was first used in the treatment of COVID-19 in China.Later,under a limited emergencyuse authorizati on from the FDA,hydroxychloro quine in combi nation with azithromyci n was used to treat COVID-19 patie nts in the USA,although the mechanisms of the anti-COVID-19 effects remain unclear.Preliminary outcomes from clinical trials in several countries have gen erated con troversial results.The desperatio n to control the pan demic overrode the con cerns regardi ng the serious adverse effects of chloro quine derivatives and combi nation drugs,i ncluding lethal arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy.The risks of these treatments have become more complex as a result of findings that COVID-19 is actually a multisystem disease.While respiratory symptoms are the major clin ical man ifestati ons,cardiovascular abno rmalities,in eluding arrhythmias,myocarditis,heart failure,and ischemic stroke,have been reported in a significant number of COVID-19 patients.Patients with preexisting cardiovascular conditions(hypertension,arrhythmias,etc.)are at increased risk of severe COVID-19 and death.From pharmacological and cardiovascular perspectives,therefore,the treatment of COVID-19 with chloroquine and its derivatives should be systematically evaluated,and patients should be routinely monitored for cardiovascular conditions to prevent lethal adverse events.Xiao-lei Zhang Zhuo-ming Li Jian-tao Ye Ji ng Lu Lingyu Linda Ye Chun-xiang Zhang Pei-qing Liu Dayue D Duan 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,11:3
18Epidemiological Characteristics of Plague in the Meriones unguiculatus Plague Focus--Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China,1950−2019显示文摘From 1950 to 2019,a total of 267 plague cases in humans were reported in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with 133 deaths and 10,710 Yersinia pestis isolates;21 of these cases were reported from the Meriones unguiculatus(M.unguiculatus)plague focus with 6 deaths and 6,771 isolates.According to the plague situation in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the implementation of local preventive measures,the prevalence of plague in humans in the M.unguiculatus plague focus of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region could be divided into four stages.The first stage was the initial stage of plague prevention and control(1950–1959),with 0.80 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 37.50%.The second stage was the plague eradication stage(1960–1979),with 0.15 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 33.33%.The third stage was the plague surveillance stage(1980-1999),with 0.25 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 20.00%.The fourth stage is the comprehensive prevention and control stage under the emergency system(2000-2019),with 0.25 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 20.00%.The surveillance of rodent density(1981-2019)and studies on plague-related factors among M.unguiculatus have shown that the higher the M.unguiculatus density,the higher the nocturnal rodent capture rate(r=0.670,p<0.05)and the higher the indirect hemagglutination assay(IHA)positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=0.344,p<0.05);the higher the percentage of hosts infected,the lower the M.unguiculatus density(r=-0.361,p<0.05)and the lower the IHA positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=-0.337,p<0.05);the higher the percentage of nests infected with fleas,the lower the IHA positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=-0.348,p<0.05).Together,these results suggest that it is necessary to simultaneously monitor the pathogens,serology,and vector index of M.unguiculatus to accurately reflect the plague prevalence among local animals.Although bubonic plague is the main plague type of the M.unguiculatus plague focus,severe pneumonic plague or septic plague may be secondary when the bubonic plague is misdiagnosed or not treated in time.In addition,the plague in animals is relatively virulent in the M.unguiculatus plague focus,and the risk of spreading to humans is higher.For plague in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,comprehensive control efforts should be aimed at the M.unguiculatus focus,covering host animals,vector insects,and humans.Boxi Liu Dayu Zhang Yuhuang Chen Zhaokai He Jun Liu Dongyue Lyu Weiwei Wu Ran Duan Shuai Qin Junrong Liang Huaiqi Jing Xin Wang 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,49:3
19Underwater Object Recognition Based on Deep Encoding-Decoding Network显示文摘Ocean underwater exploration is a part of oceanography that investigates the physical and biological conditions for scientific and commercial purposes. And video technology plays an important role and is extensively applied for underwater environment observation. Different from the conventional methods, video technology explores the underwater ecosystem continuously and non-invasively. However, due to the scattering and attenuation of light transport in the water, complex noise distribution and lowlight condition cause challenges for underwater video applications including object detection and recognition. In this paper, we propose a new deep encoding-decoding convolutional architecture for underwater object recognition. It uses the deep encoding-decoding network for extracting the discriminative features from the noisy low-light underwater images. To create the deconvolutional layers for classification, we apply the deconvolution kernel with a matched feature map, instead of full connection, to solve the problem of dimension disaster and low accuracy. Moreover, we introduce data augmentation and transfer learning technologies to solve the problem of data starvation. For experiments, we investigated the public datasets with our proposed method and the state-of-the-art methods. The results show that our work achieves significant accuracy. 20Effect of xanthan gum on the quality of low sodium salted beef and property of myofibril proteins显示文摘The effects of xanthan gum (0 % and 0.3 %) on the quality of low sodium (2.0 %, 2.4 %, 2.8 %, 3.2 %, 3.6 % and 4.0 %) salted beef and property of myofibril proteins (MP) extracted from salted beef were researched. Changes in the salting absorptivity, cooking loss, shear force, color and sensory analysis showed that xanthan gum had a positive effect on the quality of salted beef with low salinity (2.0 %, 2.4 % and 2.8 %). MP of salted beef treated with xanthan gum had higher solubility, lower hydrogen bond than that without it (P < 0.05). The decrease of surface hydrophobicity and intrinsic fluorescence intensity indicated that the chromophore of protein was brought into a hydrophobic environment in the presence of xanthan gum. The electrophoresis showed that xanthan gum could improve the concentration of myosin heavy chain, paramyosin and actin after tumble-salting. The data suggested that salted beef and its MP treated with xanthan gum and 2.8 % salt (XS3) had the best properties.
