1Ag@Au core/shell triangular nanoplates with dual enzyme-like properties for the colorimetric sensing of glucose显示文摘Due to the serious harm of diabetes to human health,development of sensitive assays for glucose level is of high significance for early prevention and treatment of diabetes.Currently,most conventional enzyme-based glucose sensors suffer from high cost and low stability due to the inherent defects of natural enzymes.Herein,we develop a pure nanozyme-based glucose detection method using Ag@Au core/shell triangular nanoplates(TNPs),which combines glucose oxidase(GOD)-and horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-like activities of the Au shell and inherent plasmonic properties of Ag TNPs.The sensing mechanism is based on the fact that the Au shell possessed GOD-like activity,enabling the oxidation of glucose to produce H2O2,which can further etch the silver core,leading to the decrease of absorbance at 800 nm and the color change from blue to colorless.Compared with the previous nanozymes-based glucose sensors,our method avoids the use of enzymes and organic chromogenic agent.Moreover,the stability of the Ag@Au core/shell TNPs is much better than that of Ag TNPs due to the protection by the coating of the Au shell.This method was successfully applied to the detection of urine samples from patients with diabetes,indicating its practical applicability for real sample analysis.Ao Liu Mengmeng Li Jingxiang Wang Fan Feng Yu Zhang Zhiwei Qiu Yuzhu Chen Benjamin Edem Meteku Congying Wen Zifeng Yan Jingbin Zeng 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:3

9A Comprehensive Review of Water Quality Monitoring and Assess­ment in Delta State,Southern Part of Nigeria显示文摘This research presents a review on water resources in Delta state,south­ern part of Nigeria,with emphasis on hydrogeochemical and microbial assessment.It evaluates factors responsible for water contamination,and their resulting health challenges within the study area.To achieve the ob­jective of this study,related articles were downloaded from Google,pub­lished article on influence of hydrogeochemical and microbial activities on water resources.These articles were thoroughly studied.Findings from this study,suggested that groundwater was more studied than surface wa­ter.We also observed that groundwater within the riverine communities is much more prone to pollution when compared to groundwater in an up­land area.Results from various authors suggested that,larger percentage of groundwater showed presence of coliform.Further findings suggested that geochemical processes such as rock water interaction,seawater in­trusion and precipitation influences groundwater quality within the study area especially within Sombreiro-Warri Deltaic Plain Deposit.Moses Oghenenyoreme Eyankware Bassey Edem Ephraim 2021Journal of Environmental & Earth Sciences2021,3,1:1
