The Grid Search Algorithm of Tectonic Stress Tensor Based on Focal Mechanism Data and Its Application in the Boundary Zone of China, Vietnam and Laos显示文摘Stress field plays a key role in geodynamics. In this study, an algorithm to determine the stress tensor and its confidence range from focal mechanism data by using grid search method was proposed. The experiment uses artificial focal mechanism data which were generated by extensional, compression and strike-slip stress regime and different level of noise, shows that the precision of the estimated stress tensor based on this algorithm is greatly improved compared with traditional algorithms. This algorithm has three advantages:(1) The global optimal solution of the stress tensor is determined by fine grid search of 1o×1o×1o×0.01 and local minimum value is avoided;(2) precision of focal mechanism data can be considered, i.e., different weight of the focal mechanism data contributes differently to the process of determining stress tensor;(3) the confidence range of the determined stress tensor can be obtained by using F-test. We apply this algorithm in the boundary zone of China, Vietnam and Laos, and obtain the stress field with SSE-NNW compressive stress direction and NEE-SWW extensional stress direction. The stress ratio is 0.6, which shows that the eigen values of the stress tensor are nearly in arithmetic sequence. The stress field in this region is consistent with the left-lateral strike slip of the Dienbien-Lauangphrabang arc fault. The result will be helpful in studying the geological dynamic process in this region. | Yongge Wan Shuzhong Sheng Jichao Huang Xiang Li Xin Chen | 2016 | Journal of Earth Science2016,27,5: | 48
1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 protects obese rats from metabolic syndrome via promoting regulatory T cell-mediated resolution of inflammation显示文摘Vitamin D_3 has been found to produce therapeutic effects on obesity-associated insulin resistance and dyslipidemia through its potent anti-inflammatory activity, but the precise immunomodulatory mechanism remains poorly understood. In the present study we found that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D_3[1,25(OH)_2D_3], the biologically active form of vitamin D_3, significantly attenuated monosodium glutamate(MSG)-induced obesity and insulin resistance as indicated by body weight reduction, oral glucose tolerance improvement, and a glucose infusion rate increase as detected with hyperinsulinemiceuglycemic clamp. Moreover, 1,25(OH)_2D_3 not only restored pancreatic islet functions but also improved lipid metabolism in insulin-targeted tissues. The protective effects of 1,25(OH)_2D_3 on glycolipid metabolism were attributed to its ability to inhibit an obesity-activated inflammatory response in insulin secretory and targeted tissues, as indicated by reduced infiltration of macrophages in pancreas islets and adipose tissue while enhancing the expression of Tgf-β1 in liver tissue, which was accompanied byincreased infiltration of Treg cells in immune organs such as spleen and lymph node as well as in insulintargeted tissues such as liver, adipose, and muscle. Together, our findings suggest that 1,25(OH)_2D_3 serves as a beneficial immunomodulator for the prevention and treatment of obesity or metabolic syndrome through its anti-inflammatory effects. | Wen Jin Bing Cui Pingping Li Fang Hua Xiaoxi Lv Jichao Zhou Zhuowei Hu Xiaowei Zhang | 2018 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2018,8,2: | 9
Progress on design and related R&D activities for the water-cooled breeder blanket for CFETR显示文摘The water-cooled ceramic breeder (WCCB) blanket is one of the blanket candidates for Chinese fusion engineering testing reactor (CFETR) and is being developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP). This paper reviews design and evolution of the WCCB blanket for CFETR, and presents a new WCCB blanket design according to the latest CFETR core parameters (major and minor radii are R = 7.2 m and a = 2.2 m, respectively) and missions. This new design is expected to satisfy multiple CFETR operation modes of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 GW fusion power and achieve tritium self-sufficiency. The feasibility of the updated blanket design is evaluated from the aspects of neutronics and thermo-hydraulics. Furthermore, the research and development (R&D) activities supporting to the WCCB blanket for CFETR are reported, including the design code, the water loop experiments, the pebble bed modeling and experiments, and the components fabrication technology. | Songlin Liu Xiaoman Cheng Xuebin Ma Lei Chen Kecheng Jiang Xia Li Hui Bao Jichao Wang Wanjing Wang Changhong Peng Peng Lu Min Li Kai Huang | 2019 | Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2019,9,3: | 6
Grain-filling characteristics and yield differences of maize cultivars with contrasting nitrogen efficiencies显示文摘To investigate the effect of nitrogen management on the grain-filling characteristics and yield formation of maize cultivars with contrasting nitrogen efficiencies, and to identify differences in grain-filling characteristics and yield of maize cultivars in response to nitrogen management,a two-year field experiment was conducted in southwest China in2015–2016.The grain-filling rate and duration of the N-inefficient cultivar XY 508 were higher than those of the N-efficient cultivar ZH 311.The 100-kernel weight of XY 508 was significantly higher than that of ZH 311.The kernel number per ear of ZH 311 was significantly higher than that of XY 508,making the population filling rate of ZH 311 significantly higher than that of XY 508.The higher population filling rate of the N-efficient maize cultivar led to a significant yield advantage over the N-inefficient maize cultivar.Nitrogen management effectively improved maize grain yield, but the response of maize cultivars with contrasting nitrogen efficiencies to nitrogen management was inconsistent.A basal fertilizer ratio 60.43%with a topdressing ratio 39.57%effectively increased grainfilling rate, delayed the time to maximum filling rate, prolonged the active filling period and effective grain-filling time, increased the 100-kernel weight, and maintained higher kernels per ear, thereby improving the population filling rate and maximizing the yield advantage of the N-efficient cultivar.A 100%basal fertilizer ratio not only increased the number of kernels per ear,but also maintained high grain filling characteristics to obtain a higher 100-kernel weight and increased the population filling rate, leading to a high grain yield in the N-inefficient cultivar. Thus, the 100%basal fertilizer ratio partially compensated for the deficient grain yield of the N-inefficient cultivar. | Qiang Li Lunjing Du Dongju Feng Yun Ren Zhexin Li Fanlei Kong Jichao Yuan | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,6: | 5
Application of Fast Wavelet Analysis on Early Stall Warning in Axial Compressors显示文摘The timely detection of stall inception is of great significance for safe operation and stability control of axial compressor. In the current study, a fast wavelet tool was selected to predict stall precursor in axial compressors with spike-type and modal-wave stall inception. Dynamic pressure was measured in the casing wall by using a collection of time-resolved pressure transducers with circumferential and chord-wise spatial resolution. Fast wavelet analysis with low frequency reconstruction results demonstrate that the initial inception can be detected 110 rotor revolutions prior to stall for modal-wave stall inception in a 1.5 stage axial compressor. For spike-type stall inception, despite the failure of early stall warning via low frequency reconstruction, an increase amplitude frequency band of 0.2–0.8 blade passing frequency was identified using high frequency reconstruction in an isolated-rotor axial compressor. Fast wavelet method can predict two kinds of stall inceptions simultaneously in advance and realize the early stall warning in axial compressors through a reasonable selection of reconstructed frequency. | LIU Yang LI Jichao DU Juan LI Fan ZHANG Hongwu | 2019 | Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,5: | 5
Entropy Generation Analysis in a Mixed-Flow Compressor with Casing Treatment显示文摘Casing treatments(CT) can effectively extend compressors flow ranges with the expense of efficiency penalty. Compressor efficiency is closely linked to loss. Only revealing the mechanisms of loss generation can design a CT with high aerodynamic performance. In the paper, a highly-loaded mixed-flow compressor with tip clearance of 0.4 mm was numerically studied at a rotational speed of 30,000 r/min to reveal the effects of axial slot casing treatment(ASCT) on the loss mechanisms in the compressor. The results showed that both isentropic efficiency and stall margin were improved significantly by the ASCT. The local entropy generation method was used to analyze the loss mechanisms and to quantify the loss distributions in the blade passage. Based on the axial distributions of entropy generation rate, for both the cases with and without ASCT, the peak entropy generation rate increased in the rotor domain and decreased in the stator domain during throttling the compressor. The peak entropy generation in rotor was mainly caused by the tip leakage flow and flow separations near the rotor leading edge for the mixed-flow compressor no matter which casing was applied. The radial distributions of entropy generation rate showed that the reduction of loss in the rotor domain from 0.4 span to the rotor casing was the major reason for the efficiency improved by ASCT. The addition of ASCT exerted two opposite effects on the losses generated in the compressor. On the one hand, the intensity of tip leakage flow was weakened by the suction effect of slots, which alleviated the mixing effect between the tip leakage flow and main flow, and thus reduced the flow losses; On the other hand, the extra losses upstream the rotor leading edge were produced due to the shear effect and to the heat transfer. The aforementioned shear effect was caused by the different velocity magnitudes and directions, and the heat transfer was caused by temperature gradient between the injected flow and the incoming flow. For case with smooth casing(SC), 61.61% of the overall loss arose from tip leakage flow and casing boundary layer. When the ASCT was applied, that decreased to 55.34%. The loss generated by tip leakage flow and casing boundary layer decreased 20.54% relatively by ASCT. | ZHANG Qianfeng DU Juan LI Zhihui LI Jichao ZHANG Hongwu | 2019 | Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,5: | 5
Lessons from the seismic behavior of a steel grid roof structure heavily damaged in Lushan earthquake显示文摘The seismic behavior of a school gymnasium, whose steel grid roof was heavily damaged during the Mw6.6 Lushan earthquake in 2013, is simulated through nonlinear dynamic analysis. The simulated damage is compared with field observations to validate the numerical model, based on which a parametric study was performed to provide insight into the failure process and damage patterns of steel grids. The results suggest that the grid damage is strongly related to roofsubstructure interactions. These include not only the substructure's amplification of the vibration, but the uncoordinated displacement of the substructure's columns which support the grid also play an equally important role. In particular, the latter effect may significantly alter the internal force distribution in the steel grid and lead to unexpected buckling of members that are proportioned as tension-only members. While such interactions are generally not accounted for in the design practice for grid structures in China, similar seismic damage may be expected for other existing grid roofs in future earthquakes. As is also demonstrated in this study, seismic isolation of the roof is a promising solution to protect grid roof structures by mitigating the detrimental effects of roof-substructure interactions. | Li Jichao Qu Zhe Wang Tao | 2019 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2019,18,1: | 5
Seismic fragility of flexible pipeline connections in a base isolated medical building显示文摘Flexible pipelines are often used to connect hard pipes from a foundation to a superstructure to accommodate large deformation in the base isolation layer during an earthquake. Although Chinese seismic design guidelines suggest several confi gurations, they are diff erent from the designs that have been proven in practice, e.g., Japanese styles, and extensive experimental investigation into their seismic performance is required. Three types of seals, rubber-, metal- and asbestinebased, were tested quasi-statically with infi lled pressurized water at 2.5 MPa. The asbestine-based seal leaked at a smaller deformation than the other two types of seals. Based on the test results, three damage states were defi ned and the deformation capacity was estimated. To evaluate their performance, a three-dimensional model of a base-isolated medical building was developed using OpenSees, with the fl exible pipelines simulated by a mechanical model calibrated from the experimental data. A probabilistic seismic demand model and the fragility function of the fl exible pipelines were then developed to evaluate the seismic performance. | Shang Qingxue Wang Tao Li Jichao | 2019 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2019,18,4: | 4
A geomorphological response of beaches to Typhoon Meari in the eastern Shandong Peninsula in China显示文摘Eight representative beach profiles on the eastern coast of the Shandong Peninsula are observed and measured in2011 and 2012 to determine the coastal processes under the lower tropical wind speed condition and the beach response to and recovery from the tropical storm Meari in a rare typhoon region. The results show that it is the enhancement and directional change of cross-shore and longshore sediment transports caused by Meari that leads to the beach morphological changes, and most of the sediment transports occur during the pre-Meari landing phase. The erosional scarp formation and the berm or beach face erosion are the main geomorphological responses of the beaches to the storm. The storm characteristics are more important than the beach shapes in the storm response process of the beaches on Shandong Peninsula. The typhoon is a fortuitous strong dynamic event, and the effect on the dissipative beach is more obvious than it is on the reflective beach in the study region.Furthermore, the beach trend is the main factor that controlls the storm effect intensity, and it is also closely related to the recovery of the beach profiles. | DING Dong YANG Jichao LI Guangxue DADA Olusegun A GONG Lixin WANG Nan WANG Xiangdong ZHANG Bin | 2015 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,9: | 4
Comparative transcriptional analysis provides insights of possible molecular mechanisms of wing polyphenism induced by postnatal crowding in Aphis gossypii显示文摘Background:Aphis gossypii is a worldwide sap-sucking pest with a variety of hosts and a vector of more than 50 plant viruses. The strategy of wing polyphenism, mostly resulting from population density increasing, contributes to the evolutionary success of this pest. However, the related molecular basis remains unclear. Here,we identified the effects of postnatal crowding on wing morph determination in cotton aphid, and examined the transcriptomic differences between wingless and wing morphs. Results:Effect of postnatal crowding on wing determination in A gossypii was evaluated firstly.Under the density of 5 nymphs·cm-2,no wing aphids appeared.Proportion of wing morphs rised with the increase of density in a certain extent, and peaked to 56.1% at the density of 20 nymphs·cm-2,and reduced afterwards. Then, transcriptomes of wingless and wing morphs were assembled and annotated separately to identify potentially exclusively or differentially expressed transcripts between these two morphs,in which 3 126 and 3 392 unigenes annotated in Nr(Non-redundant protein sequence) database were found in wingless or wing morphs exclusively.Moreover,3 187 up-and 1 880 down-regulated genes were identified in wing versus wingless aphid.Pathways analysis suggested the involvement of differentially expressed genes in multiple cellular signaling pathways involved in wing morphs determination, including lipid catabolic and metabolism, insulin, ecdysone and juvenile hormone biosynthesis. The expression levels of related genes were validated by the reverse transcription quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) soon afterwards. Conclusions:The present study identified the effects of postnatal crowding on wing morphs induction and demonstrated that the critical population density for wing morphs formation in A gossypii was 20 nymphs·cm-2.Comparative transcriptome analysis provides transcripts potentially expressed exclusively in wingless or wing morph, respectively.Differentially expressed genes between wingless and wing morphs were identified and several signaling pathways potentially involved in cotton aphid wing differentiation were obtained. | JI Jichao ZHANG Shuai LUO Junyu WANG Li ZHU Xiangzhen ZHANG Kaixin ZHANG Lijuan CUI Jinjie | 2019 | Journal of Cotton Research2019,2,3: | 3

Effect of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill on osteoporosis: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect and safety of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill, classic Yin and Yang tonic formula(CYYTF), in the treatment of osteoporosis and the underlying mechanism.METHODS: Participants aged 55 to 75 with osteoporosis and Kidney deficiency in Traditional Chi-nese Medicine(TCM) will be included and randomly allocated into two groups: treatment group and control group. Participants in the treatment group were treated with Zuogui pill or Yougui pill TCM formula granule, while the control group received placebo. Primary outcomes are the lumbar spine on bone mineral density(BMD)(L1-4) and femoral BMD. Secondary outcomes include pain intensity,health-related quality of life(HRQo L), bone turnover markers and safety.RESULTS: Totally 200 patients were enrolled from December 2014 to April 2016 from four hospitals. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups at baseline(P > 0.05) and it was good to comparability. Statistically significant differences between the two groups were observed for the lumbar BMD(L1-4), pain VAS scores and HRQo L at six months and twelve months and femoral BMD at twelve months(P < 0.05), but no significant differences for femoral BMD and bone turnover markers at six months(P > 0.05). Moreover, significant difference was observed at different time before and after treatment in terms of lumbar spine(L1-4) BMD, femoral BMD, pain VAS scores and health-related quality of life, and there was an crossover effect between the time and groups before and after treatment. In additional, in the treatment group, 8 patients lost to follow-up and 3 patients had adverse events(AEs) and in the control group, 10 patients lost to follow-up and 2 patients had AEs. No remarkable differences were observed between the two groups with regard to AEs, lost rate and safety(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Zuogui pill or Yougui pill could improve BMD, ease pain, relieve Kidney deficiencysyndrome, improve the quality of life osteoporosis patients, inhibit bone conversion and regulate the coupling balance of bone formation and bone resorption, but long-term efficacy should be confirmed by a longer term follow-up and larger of samples clinical randomized controlled trials. | Li Wenxiong Zhang Kuaiqiang Liu Zhu Liu Li Cheng Yan Yin Jichao Sun Yindi Yang Feng | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,1: | 3
Genetically encoded X-ray cellular imaging for nanoscale protein localization显示文摘Spatial resolution defines the physical limit of microscopes for probing biomolecular localization and interactions in cells.Whereas synchrotron-based X-ray microscopy(XRM)represents a unique approach for imaging a whole cell with nanoscale resolution due to its intrinsic nanoscale resolution and great penetration ability, existing approaches to label biomolecules rely on the use of exogenous tags that are multi-step and error-prone.Here,we repurpose engineered peroxidases as genetically encoded X-ray-sensitive tags(GXET)for site-specific labeling of protein-of-interest in mammalian cells. We find that 3,3-diaminobenzidine(DAB)polymers that are in-situ catalytically formed by fusion-expressed peroxidases are visible under XRM.Using this new tag,we imaged the protein location associated with the alteration of a DNA-methylation pathway with an ultra-high resolution of 30 nanometers.Importantly, the excellent energy resolution of XRM enables multicolor imaging using different peroxidase tags. The development of GXET enlightens the way to nanoscopic imaging for biological studies. | Huating Kong Jichao Zhang Jiang Li Jian Wang Hyun-Joon Shin Renzhong Tai Qinglong Yan Kai Xia Jun Hu Lihua Wang Ying Zhu Chunhai Fan | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,7: | 3

Seismic force demands on acceleration-sensitive nonstructural components:a state-of-the-art review显示文摘Nonstructural components(NSCs)are parts, elements, and subsystems that are not part of the primary loadbearing system of building structures but are subject to seismic loading.Damage to NSCs may disrupt the functionality of buildings and result in significant economic losses, injuries, and casualties. In past decades, extensive studies have been conducted on the seismic performance and seismic design methods of NSCs.As the input for the seismic design of NSCs,floor response spectra(FRS)have attracted the attention of researchers worldwide. This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of FRS.Different methods for generating FRS are summarized and compared with those in current seismic design codes.A detailed review of the parameters influencing the FRS is presented. These parameters include the characteristics of ground motion excitation, supporting building and NSCs.The floor acceleration response and the FRS obtained from experimental studies and field observations during earthquakes are also discussed.Three RC frames are used in a case study to compare the peak floor acceleration(PFA)and FRS calculated from time history analyses(THA)with that generated using current seismic design codes and different methods in the literature.Major knowledge gaps are identified, including uncertainties associated with developing FRS,FRS generation methods for different types of buildings, the need for comprehensive studies on absolute acceleration, relative velocity, and relative displacement FRS,and the calibration of FRS by field observations during earthquakes. | Wang Tao Shang Qingxue Li Jichao | 2021 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2021,20,1: | 3
Dual stability enhancement mechanisms of axial-slot casing treatment in a high-speed mixed-flow compressor with various tip clearances显示文摘The influence of Axial-Slot Casing Treatment(ASCT)on the performance and stability enhancement mechanisms of ASCT were experimentally and numerically investigated in a highspeed mixed-flow compressor under three different tip clearances.Unsteady simulations showed the compressor stalled through end-wall stall route,i.e.the spike stall inception originating from rotor tip region, which was validated by dynamical measurements. When the ASCT was applied, greater than 20%of Stall Margin Improvement(SMI)could be achieved for the compressor under each tip clearance size. The streamwise velocity contours and flow structures in the tip region and axial slots were deeply analyzed to explore how the so called‘‘suction and injection effects'generated by the ASCT manipulate tip clearance flow and enhance the stability of compressor under different tip clearances. It was found that the dominant stability enhancement mechanisms of ASCT varies with tip clearance size for the mixed-flow compressor.(A)For the small tip clearance, the dominant mechanism of stability enhancement is the blockage reduction generated in the blade passage by the suction effect of ASCT.(B)For the large tip clearance, the injection effect of the ASCT is the dominant mechanism of stability enhancement with ASCT,which plays the leading role in delaying the spillage of incoming/tip leakage flow interface at the rotor Leading Edge(LE)plane. | Qianfeng ZHANG Juan DU Jichao LI Ming ZHAO Hongwu ZHANG | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 2

Weapon system portfolio selection based on structural robustness显示文摘The system portfolio selection is a fundamental frontier issue in the development planning and demonstration of weapon equipment. The scientific and reasonable development of the weapon system portfolio is of great significance for optimizing the design of equipment architecture, realizing effective resource allocation, and increasing the campaign effectiveness of integrated joint operations. From the perspective of system-ofsystems,this paper proposes a unified framework called structure-oriented weapon system portfolio selection(SWSPS)to solve the weapon system portfolio selection problem based on structural invulnerability.First, the types of equipment and the relationship between the equipment are sorted out based on the operation loop theory, and a heterogeneous combat network model of the weapon equipment system is established by abstracting the equipment and their relationships into different types of nodes and edges respectively. Then, based on the combat network model, the operation loop comprehensive evaluation index(OLCEI)is introduced to quantitatively describe the structural robustness of the combat network.Next,a weapon system combination selection model is established with the goal of maximizing the operation loop comprehensive evaluation index within the constraints of capability requirements and budget limitations. Finally, our proposed SWSPS is demonstrated through a case study of an armored infantry battalion. The results show that our proposed SWSPS can achieve excellent performance in solving the weapon system portfolio selection problem, which yields many meaningful insights and guidance to the future equipment development planning. | JIANG Jiuyao LI Jichao YANG Kewei | 2020 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2020,31,6: | 1
Automatic Efficiency Optimization of an Axial Compressor with Adjustable Inlet Guide Vanes显示文摘The inlet attack angle of rotor blade reasonably can be adjusted with the change of the stagger angle of inlet guide vane (IGV); so the efficiency of each condition will be affected. For the purpose to improve the efficiency, the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) controller is designed to adjust the stagger angle of IGV automatically in order to optimize the efficiency at any operating condition. The A/D signal collection includes inlet static pressure, outlet static pressure, outlet total pressure, rotor speed and torque signal, the efficiency can be calculated in the DSP, and the angle signal for the stepping motor which control the IGV will be sent out from the D/A. Experimental investigations are performed in a three-stage, low-speed axial compressor with variable inlet guide vanes. It is demonstrated that the DSP designed can well adjust the stagger angle of IGV online, the efficiency under different conditions can be optimized. This establishment of DSP online adjustment scheme may provide a practical solution for improving performance of multi-stage axial flow compressor when its operating condition is varied. | Jichao Li Feng Lin Chaoqun Nie Jingyi Chen | 2012 | Journal of Thermal Science2012,21,2: | 1
