1Focal depths for moderate-sized aftershocks of the Wenchuan M_S8.0 earthquake and their implications显示文摘Sliding-window cross-correlation method is firstly adopted to identify sPn phase, and to constrain focal depth from regional seismograms, by measuring the time separation between sPn and Pn phases. We present the focal depths of the 17 moderate-sized aftershocks (MS≥5.0) of the Wenchuan MS8.0 earth-quake, using the data recorded by the regional seismic broadband networks of Shaanxi, Qinghai, Gansu, Yunnan and Sichuan. Our results show focal depths of aftershocks range from 8 to 20 km, and tend to cluster at two average depths, separate at 32.5°N, i.e., 11 km to the south and 17 km to the north, indicating that these aftershocks are origin of upper-to-middle crust. 2The Ghd7 transcription factor represses ARE1 expression to enhance nitrogen utilization and grain yield in rice显示文摘The genetic improvement of nitrogen use efficiency(NUE)of crops is vital for grain productivity and sustainable agriculture.However,the regulatory mechanism of NUE remains largely elusive.Here,we report that the rice Grain number,plant height,and heading date7(Ghd7)gene genetically acts upstream of ABC1 REPRESSOR1(ARE1),a negative regulator of NUE,to positively regulate nitrogen utilization.As a transcriptional repressor,Ghd7 directly binds to two Evening Element-like motifs in the promoter and intron 1 of ARE1,likely in a cooperative manner,to repress its expression.Ghd7 and ARE1 display diurnal expression patterns in an inverse oscillation manner,mirroring a regulatory scheme based on these two loci.Analysis of a panel of 2656 rice varieties suggests that the elite alleles of Ghd7 and ARE1 have undergone diversifying selection during breeding.Moreover,the allelic distribution of Ghd7 and ARE1 is associated with the soil nitrogen deposition rate in East Asia and South Asia.Remarkably,the combination of the Ghd7 and ARE1 elite alleles substantially improves NUE and yield performance under nitrogen-limiting conditions.Collectively,these results define a Ghd7–ARE1-based regulatory mechanism of nitrogen utilization,providing useful targets for genetic improvement of rice NUE.Qing Wang Qingmei Su Jinqiang Nian Jian Zhang Meng Guo Guojun Dong Jiang Hu Rongsheng Wang Changshuo Wei Guanwen Li Wan Wang Hui-Shan Guo Shaoyang Lin Wenfeng Qian XianzhiXie Qian Qian Fan Chen Jianru Zuo 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,6:10
3Characteristics and distribution of low molecular weight organic acids in the sediment porewaters in Bosten Lake, China显示文摘The composition and vertical profiles of low molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) and the contribution of them to dissolved organic matter (DOM) in sediment porewaters in Bosten Lake, Xinjiang, China were investigated. The results showed that total concentration of LMWOAs was up to 94.5 μmol/L and their proportion in DOM was 5.6%, suggesting that LMWOAs were important chemical components in DOM in lake sediment porewaters. Among the seven LMWOAs, pyruvic and acetic acid had the highest concentrations with 26.30 and 8.31 μmol/L, accounting for 51.4% and 14.92% of LMWOAs, respectively. Trifluoroacetic and sorbic acid had the lowest concentrations, indicating that the compositions of LMWOAs in relative reducing environments were largely different from those reported in glacier, atmosphere and soils. The concentrations of lactic, acetic, formic, sorbic and oxalic acid decreased with increasing depth, probably relating to stronger microbial activities in the initial stage of early diagenesis. Trifluoroacetic acid was mainly anthropogenic with its concentration, showing a diusive trend from the surface to bottom sediments. The concentrations of lactic acid and nitrate generally showed a consistent profile. The increasing concentration of pyruvic acid in the vertical profile was just opposite to that of sulfate, revealing a significant negative relationship between them. Oxalic acid remained constant except for an obvious peak at 6 cm depth. 4Differential patterns of SH and P wave velocity structures in the transition zone beneath northwestern Tibet显示文摘Triplicate waveform modeling is used to resolve SH (Vs) and P (Vp ) wave velocity structures in the upper mantle transition zone (TZ) beneath northwestern (NW) Tibet. Focal depth move out stacking is proposed to enhance the identification of triplicate phases, and can be used to test consistency of our data. Our results show that the Vs and Vp structures are decorrelated, and that a large Vs jump occurred across the 660-km discontinuity, with a small Vs gradient above it. Conversely, the Vp model is characterized by a relatively small contrast across the discontinuity, accompanied by a high Vp gradient in the TZ. There seem no significant depth anomalies of the 660-km discontinuity in both models. The seismic structure in TZ beneath NW Tibet are similar to recent studies beneath the central Qiangtang and western Lhasa terrains. Taking the lower TZ structures under India as references, Vs is normal but Vp appears slightly high, and thus a high ratio of Vp/Vs was indicated beneath NW Tibet. Combined results with experiment information from mineral studies, we suggest that the differential anomalies of Vp and Vs can be attributed to a chemical heterogeneity, such as increased Al content in the lower TZ. 5Investigation of low-molecular weight organic acids and their spatiotemporal variation characteristics in Hongfeng Lake,China显示文摘The identities and concentrations of low-molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) were determined by ion chromatography throughout a 20-m water column in Hongfeng Lake, China. The spatiotemporal variations of LMWOAs and their contributions to dissolved organic matter (DOM) in a research period of 24 hr were also investigated. The results demonstrated that five LMWOAs (lactic, acetic, pyruvic, sorbic, oxalic acid) were detected, and their total concentration and proportion in DOC were 6.55 μmol/L and 7.47%. Their average levels were 2.50, 0.65, 2.35, 0.96 and 0.09 μmol/L, respectively. LMWOAs were higher during daytime (10:00-18:00 on Jun 13, 2008) than nighttime (21:00-6:00 the next morning), in particular 4.99 μmol/L high in the epilimnion ( 1 m water depth), reflecting the fact that direct import from terrigenous sources and photochemical production from humic materials were dominant during LMWOAs' origin and accumulation. The same factors caused LMWOAs to be 0.63 μmol/L in the epilimnion higher than in the hypolimnion. The rapid decrease of total organic acid (TOA) up until 18:00 mainly resulted from bio-uptake and mineralization in the hypolimnion (>1 m water depth). Pyruvic acid increased with time in the epilimnion and decreased in the hypolimnion, largely related to the two contrary processes of continuous degradation and synthesis of macromolecular organic matter during life materials' cycle mediated by organisms. Simultaneously, plankton behavior and thermal stratification played a pivotal role in LMWOAs' behavior in the water column, causing decreasing and increasing profiles. 6Post-traumatic stress disorder status in a rescue group after the Wenchuan earthquake relief显示文摘Previous studies have suggested that the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder in earthquake rescue workers is relatively high. Risk factors for this disorder include demographic characteristics, earthquake-related high-risk factors, risk factors in the rescue process, personality, social support and coping style. This study examined the current status of a unit of 1 040 rescue workers who participated in earthquake relief for the Wenchuan earthquake that occurred on May 12th, 2008. Post-traumatic stress disorder was diagnosed primarily using the Clinician-Administered Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Scale during structured interviews. Univariate and multivariate sta-tistical analyses were used to examine major risk factors that contributed to the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder. Results revealed that the incidence of this disorder in the rescue group was 5.96%. The impact factors in univariate analysis included death of family members, contact with corpses or witnessing of the deceased or seriously injured, near-death experience, severe injury or mental trauma in the rescue process and working at the epicenter of the earthquake. Correlation analysis suggested that post-traumatic stress disorder was positively correlated with psychotic and neurotic personalities, negative coping and low social support. Impact factors in mul-tivariate logistic regression analysis included near-death experience, severe injury or mental trauma, working in the epicenter of the rescue, neurotic personality, negative coping and low social support, among which low social support had the largest odds ratio of 20.42. 8Pan-cancer analysis of long non-coding RNA NEAT1 in various cancers显示文摘Changes in the abundance and activity of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have an important impact on the development of cancer.The nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1(NEAT1)has been reported to be overexpressed in many types of cancer since its discovery.However,inconsistencies exist as NEAT1 can also function as a tumor suppressor in certain types of cancer,such as acute promyelocytic leukemia.Here we systematically describe our current understanding of NEAT1 in tumor initiation and progression.First,we analyzed the expression patterns of NEAT1 in various normal tissues and malignant cancers using data from public data portals,the Genotype-Tissue Expression Project(GTEx)and the Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA),together with recent progress in the study of NEAT1 in various types of cancer.Second,we discussed the functions and mechanisms of NEAT1 in modulating tumor activity.Then,the upstream transcription factors and downstream microRNA targets of NEAT1 in the transcription cascade of cancers were also summarized.These data highlight the emerging role of NEAT1 in tumorigenesis,and present promising targetable pathways and clinical opportunities for tumor prevention and classifications.Shufen Li Jingming Li Chen Chen Rongsheng Zhang Kankan Wang 2018Genes & Diseases2018,5,1:2

10In situ evidence of resonant interactions between energetic electrons and whistler waves in magnetopause reconnection显示文摘In this paper,we analyze one reconnection event observed by the Magnetospheric Multiscale(MMS)mission at the earth’s magnetopause.In this event,the spacecraft crossed the reconnection current sheet from the magnetospheric side to the magnetosheath side,and whistler waves were observed on both the magnetospheric and magnetosheath sides.On the magnetospheric side,the whistler waves propagated quasi-parallel to the magnetic field and toward the X-line,while on the magnetosheath side they propagated almost anti-parallel to the magnetic field and away from the X-line.Associated with the enhancement of the whistler waves,we find that the fluxes of energetic electrons are concentrated around the pitch angle 90°when their energies are higher than the minimum energy that is necessary for the resonant interactions between the energetic electrons and whistler waves.This observation provides in situ observational evidence of resonant interactions between energetic electrons and whistler waves in the magnetic reconnection.Zhi Li QuanMing Lu RongSheng Wang XinLiang Gao HuaYue Chen 2019Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,6:2
11SPM-IS: An auto-algorithm to acquire a mature soybean phenotype based on instance segmentation显示文摘Mature soybean phenotyping is an important process in soybean breeding;however, the manual process is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Therefore, a novel approach that is rapid, accurate and highly precise is required to obtain the phenotypic data of soybean stems, pods and seeds. In this research, we propose a mature soybean phenotype measurement algorithm called Soybean Phenotype Measure-instance Segmentation(SPM-IS). SPM-IS is based on a feature pyramid network, Principal Component Analysis(PCA) and instance segmentation. We also propose a new method that uses PCA to locate and measure the length and width of a target object via image instance segmentation. After 60,000 iterations, the maximum mean Average Precision(m AP) of the mask and box was able to reach 95.7%. The correlation coefficients R^(2) of the manual measurement and SPM-IS measurement of the pod length, pod width, stem length, complete main stem length, seed length and seed width were 0.9755, 0.9872, 0.9692, 0.9803,0.9656, and 0.9716, respectively. The correlation coefficients R^(2) of the manual counting and SPM-IS counting of pods, stems and seeds were 0.9733, 0.9872, and 0.9851, respectively. 14Polychromatic full-polarization control in mid-infrared light显示文摘Objects with different shapes,materials and temperatures can emit distinct polarizations and spectral information in mid-infrared band,which provides a unique signature in the transparent window for object identification.However,the crosstalk among various polarization and wavelength channels prevents from accurate mid-infrared detections at high signal-to-noise ratio.Here,we report full-polarization metasurfaces to break the inherent eigen-polarization constraint over the wavelengths in mid-infrared.This recipe enables to select arbitrary orthogonal polarization basis at individual wavelength independently,therefore alleviating the crosstalk and efficiency degradation.A six-channel all-silicon metasurface is specifically presented to project focused mid-infrared light to distinct positions at three wavelengths,each with a pair of arbitrarily chosen orthogonal polarizations.An isolation ratio of 117 between neighboring polarization channels is experimentally recorded,exhibiting detection sensitivity one order of magnitude higher than existing infrared detectors.Remarkably,the high aspect ratio~30 of our meta-structures manufactured by deep silicon etching technology at temperature−150℃ guarantees the large and precise phase dispersion control over a broadband from 3 to 4.5μm.We believe our results would benefit the noise-immune mid-infrared detections in remote sensing and space-to-ground communications.Jin Chen Feilong Yu Xingsi Liu Yanjun Bao Rongsheng Chen Zengyue Zhao Jiuxu Wang Xiuxia Wang Wen Liu Yuzhi Shi Cheng-Wei Qiu Xiaoshuang Chen Wei Lu Guanhai Li 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,5:1

16Aggregation-induced emission enhancement of yellow photoluminescent carbon dots for highly selective detection of environmental and intracellular copper(Ⅱ) ions显示文摘Carbon dots (CDs) are prepared through a simple one-step hydrothermal treatment of o-phenylendiamine (OPD) and show yellow photoluminescent (PL) emission under the ultraviolet excitation, which can be further enhanced by Cu2+ ions owing to Cu2+ ions induced aggregation of OPD-CDs through the coordination of Cu2+ with amino groups on the surface of OPD-CDs. The aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE) property enables it feasible to develop a simple, sensitive and selective method to detect environmental and intracellular copper (Ⅱ) ions. The limit of detection as lowas 0.28 μmol/L (3σ/k) and a dynamic range from 0.5 μmol/L to 40 μmol/L make it veryeasy to detect the copper content inwater samples, such as river closure reservoir. 20A modified forward and backward reaching inverse kinematics based incremental control for space manipulators显示文摘Forward and backward reaching inverse kinematics(FABRIK)is an efficient two-stage iterative solver for inverse kinematics of spherical-joint manipulator without the calculation of Jacobian matrix.Based on FABRIK,this paper presents an incremental control scheme for a free-floating space manipulator consists of revolute joints and rigid links with the consideration of joint constraints and dynamic coupling effect.Due to the characteristics of FABRIK,it can induce large angular movements on specific joints.Apart from that,FABRIK maps three dimensional(3D)problem into two dimensional(2D)problem by a simple geometric projection.This operation can cause infinite loops in some cases.In order to overcome these issues and apply FABRIK on space manipulators,an increments allocation method is developed to constrain the angular movements as well as to re-orient the end-effector.The manipulator is re-positioned based on the momentum conservation law.Instead of pure target position tracking,the orientation control of the end-effector is also considered.Numerical simulation is performed to testify and demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed incremental control approach.Gangqi DONG Panfeng HUANG Yongjie WANG Rongsheng LI 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,12:1
