Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease. The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen. In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause. In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First, epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels, even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition, the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently, the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen, increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. Moreover, blocking FSH signaling by anti-FSHβ antibody or ablating the FSH receptor (FSHR)gene could effectively prevent hypercholesterolemia induced by FSH injection or high-cholesterol diet feeding.Mechanistically,FSH,via binding to hepatic FSHRs, activates the Gi2α/β-arrestin-2/Akt pathway and subsequently inhibits the binding of FoxO1 with the SREBP-2 promoter, thus preventing FoxO1 from repressing SREBP-2 gene transcription. This effect,in turn, results in the upregulation of SREBP-2,which drives HMGCR nascent transcription and de novo cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to the increase of cholesterol accumulation. This study uncovers that blocking FSH signaling might be a new strategy for treating hypercholesterolemia during menopause, particularly for women in peri-menopause characterized by FSH elevation only.Yanjing Guo Meng Zhao Tao Bo Shizhan Ma Zhongshang Yuan Wenbin Chen Zhao He Xu Hou Jun Liu Zhenhai Zhang Qiang Zhu Qiangxiu Wang Xiaoyan Lin Zhongli Yang Min Cui Lu Liu Yujie Li Chunxiao Yu Xiaoyi Qi Qian Wang Haiqing Zhang Qingbo Guan Lifang Zhao Shimeng Xuan Huili Yan Yanliang Lin Li Wang Qihang Li Yongfeng Song Ling Gao Jiajun Zhao 2019Cell Research2019,29,2:16
Formation mechanism of in-situ volcanic reservoirs in eastern China:A case study from Xushen gasfield in Songliao Basin显示文摘A large number of in-situ volcanic reservoirs have been discovered from the Meso-Cenozoic rift basin group in eastern China.Based on drilling results in combination with geological and geophysical analysis,a case study from the Early Cretaceous Xujiaweizi fault-depression shows that the formation mechanism of in-situ volcanic reservoirs is characterized by'fault-controlled body,body-controlled facies,facies-controlled reservoir, and reservoir-controlled accumulation'.In other words, deep faults control the volcanic eruption type, volcanic body, and gas reservoir distribution;the volcanic body determines the spatial distribution of volcanic facies and volcanic gas reservoir size;the volcanic facies control reservoir physical properties and effective thickness of gas formation;the volcanic reservoir properties control gas reservoir type and gas productivity. The result is useful to guiding the discovery of in-situ volcanic gas reservoirs in faulted basins in both theory and practice.FENG ZiHui YIN ChangHai LIU JiaJun ZHU YingKang LU JiaMin LI JiangHai 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12:12
S and Pb Isotopic Constraints on the Relationship between the Linong Granodiorite and the Yangla Copper Deposit,Yunnan,China显示文摘The Yangla copper deposit, located in western Yunnan Province, China, is a typical giant, newly started mining copper deposit with an estimated Cu reserves of about 1,200,000 tons. The deposit is spatially and temporally associated with the Linong granodiorite, which is rich in SiO2 (SiO2=58.25 wt%-69.84 wt%) and alkalis (Na2O+K2O=5.98 wt%-8.34 wt%), indicating an association with shoshonitic series to high-K calc-alkaline series granites, and shows low contents of TiO2 (0.35 wt%-0.48 wt%), MgO (1.51 wt%-1.72 wt%), and Al2O3 (13.38 wt%-19.75 wt%). The δ34S values of sulfides of the main ore stage from copper ores vary range from ?4.2‰ to ?0.9‰, indicating a much greater contribution from the mantle to the ore-forming fluids. The δ34S values of the late ore stage is 9.8‰, indicating enrichment of biogenic sulfur which may derive from the crustal hydrothermal fluid. The 208Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 206Pb/204Pb of sulfides of the main ore stage from copper ores range within 38.66-38.73, 15.71-15.74 and 18.35-19.04, respectively, implying that the Pb was derived from the mantle, with the crustal component, probably representing mixtures of mantle lead and crustal lead. Sulfide of the late ore stage in their Pb isotopic composition, 208Pb/204Pb= 38.69, 207Pb/204Pb=15.70, 206Pb/204Pb=18.35, implying that the Pb was derived from the crust. The Linong granodiorite is syn-collisional, produced by partial melting of thickened lower crust, which was triggered by the westward subduction of the Jinshajiang Oceanic plate. During a transition in geodynamic setting from collision-related compression to extension, gently dipping ductile shear zones (related to subduction) were transformed to brittle shear zones, consisting of a series of thrust faults in the Jinshajiang tectonic belt. The tensional thrust faults would have been a favorable environment for ore-forming fluids. The ascending magma provided a channel for the ore-forming fluid from the mantle wedge. After the magma arrived at the base of the early-stage Linong granodiorite, the platy granodiorite at the base of the body would have shielded the late-stage magma from the fluid. The magma would have cooled slowly, and some of the ore-forming fluid in the magma would have entered the gently dipping thrust faults near the Linong granodiorite, resulting in mineralization.YANG Xi'an LIU Jiajun HAN Siyu WANG Huan CHEN Siyao 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,6:9
A bottom-up strategy toward metal nano-particles modified graphene nanoplates for fabricating aluminum matrix composites and interface study显示文摘To synthesize graphene economically and efficiently,as well as to improve the interface bonding between graphene and metal and to recede the aggregation issue of graphene,in this work,an easy and scalable bottom-up strategy for the mass production of metal nanoparticles modified graphene nanoplates(GNPs)was proposed.Cu nanoparticles modified GNPs(Cu-GNPs)and Ni nanoparticles modified GNPs(Ni-GNPs)were fabricated through this method, and then compounded with Al via ball milling technique. The asobtained Ni-GNPs/Al composite showed simultaneously improved strength and toughness compared with unreinforced Al,while the Cu-GNPs/Al composite presented a greater strengthening effect. The microstructure and interface of the two composites were carefully characterized and investigated to reveal the difference.First principle study was also adopted to explore the binding energy of different interface structures. This study could provide new insights into the fabrication of GNPs and the control of interface in GNPs/Al composites.Tielong Han Enzuo Liu Jiajun Li Naiqin Zhao Chunnian He 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11:8
Whole-Process Pollution Control for Cost-Effective and Cleaner Chemical Production A Case Study of the Tungsten Industry in China显示文摘In this research,a methodology named whole-process pollution control(WPPC)is demonstrated that improves the effectiveness of process optimization. This methodology considers waste/emission treatment as a step of the whole production process with respect to the minimization of cost and environmental impact for the whole process. The following procedures are introduced in a WPPC process optimization:①a material and energy flow investigation and optimization based on a systematic understanding of the distribution and physiochemical properties of potential pollutants;②a process optimization to increase the utilization efficiency of different elements and minimize pollutant emissions;and③an evaluation to reveal the effectiveness of the optimization strategies. The production of ammonium paratungstate was chosen for the case study. Two factors of the different optimization schemes-namely the cost-effectiveness factor and the environmental impact indicator-were evaluated and compared. This research demonstrates that by considering the nature of potential pollutants, technological innovations, economic viability, environmental impacts, and regulation requirements,WPPC can efficiently optimize a metal production process.Hongbin Cao He Zhao Di Zhang Chenming Liu Xiao Lin Yuping Li Pengge Ning Jiajun Sun Yi Zhang Zhi Sun 2019Engineering2019,5,4:7
Combination types between graphene oxide and substrate affect the antibacterial activity显示文摘Duo to their superior physicochemical properties, graphene and its derivatives(GDs),such as graphene oxide(GO)and reduced graphene oxide(rGO),have attracted extensive research interests around the world. In recent years, antibacterial activities of GDs have aroused wide concern and substantial works have been done. However, the underlying antibacterial mechanisms still remain controversial.Antibacterial activities of GDs vary with various factors, such as size, number of layers,oxygen-containing groups, and experimental surroundings. We assume that combination types between graphene oxide and substrate may affect the antibacterial activity. Therefore,in this work,GO was fixed on the titanium surface with three kinds of combination types including drop with gravitational effects(GO-D),electrostatic interaction(GO-APS)and electrophoretic deposition(GO-EPD),and the antibacterial activities in vitro were systematically investigated. Results showed that combination types affected the ability of GO for preventing Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)from gathering, sharpness of wrinkles or edges and reactive oxygen spices(ROS)levels.Once S.aureus are in the form of separation without aggregation,GO can effectively interact with them and kill them with sharp wrinkles or edges and high ROS levels.GOEPD could effectively prevent S.aureus from gathering, own sharp wrinkles or edges and could generate higher ROS levels. As a result,GO-EPD exhibited optimal antibacterial activity against S.aureus, followed by GO-APS and GO-D.Jiajun Qiu Lu Liu Hongqin Zhu Xuanyong Liu 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,3:7

Exosomes with low miR-34c-3p expression promote invasion and migration of non-small cell lung cancer by upregulating integrinα2β1显示文摘Exosomes play critical roles in regulating various physiological and pathological processes, including immune stimulation, immune suppression, cardiovascular diseases, and cancers.Recent studies show that exosomes that transport specific microRNAs(miRNAs)are involved in tumor development. However, the molecular mechanism by which tumor invasion and migration are regulated by exosomes from non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is not well understood. Here,we show that exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p are involved in NSCLC progression. Our results showed that exosomes derived from NSCLC cells carrying low levels of miR-34c-3p could be transported into the cytoplasm of NSCLC cells and accelerate NSCLC invasion and migration by upregulating integrinα2β1.A luciferase assay revealed that integrinα2β1 was the direct target of miR-34c-3p,and overexpression of integrinα2β1 could promote the invasion and migration of NSCLC cells. The analysis of exosomes derived from clinical serum samples indicated that the expression of miR-34c-3p was significantly downregulated in exosomes from NSCLC patients compared with that of normal controls.A549-derived exosomes promoted NSCLC cells lung metastases in vivo.Exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p were associated with the progression of NSCLC in vitro and in vivo. Our data demonstrate that exosomes shuttling low levels of miR-34c-3p can accelerate the invasion and migration of NSCLC by upregulating integrinα2β1.MiR-34c-3p can be a diagnostic and prognostic marker for NSCLC.High expression of integrinα2β1 is positively related to the migration and metastasis of NSCLC cells.Wenjing Huang Yanyan Yan Yun Liu Minting Lin Jinxiang Ma Wei Zhang Jianwei Dai Jiajun Li Qiaoru Guo Hubiao Chen Bolat Makabel Hong Liu Chaoyue Su Hong Bi Jianye Zhang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:5
New Discovery of Molybdenite in the Dongping Gold Deposit, Hebei Province, China and its Re-Os Geochronological Implications显示文摘The Dongping gold deposit is located on the northern margin of the North China Craton, and is the largest alkaline pluton-related gold deposit in China(Bao et al.,2014),which is characterized by its large amounts of tellurides. The deposit is largely hosted in the Shuiquangou syenitic complex and consists of auriferous quartz veins and disseminated sulfide ores.It has been extensively studied since its discovery in the 1980s;however the geochronology and genesis of the deposit are still controversial.Nie(1998)considered that the deposit was formed in the Devonian.WANG Dazhao LIU Jiajun ZHAI Degao ZHEN Shimin WANG Jiang YANG Xi'an 2019Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,3:5
Effect of Ni,Fe and Fe-Ni alloy catalysts on the synthesis of metal contained carbon nano-onions and studies of their electrochemical hydrogen storage properties显示文摘Three types of carbon nano-onions(CNOs) including Ni@CNOs.Fe_3C@CNOs and Fe_(0.64)Ni_(0.36)@CNOs nanoparticles have been synthesized by catalytic decomposition of methane at 850 ℃ using nickel, iron and iron-nickel alloy catalysts.Comparative and systematic studies have been carried out on the morphology, structural characteristics and graphitic crystallinity of these CNOs products.Furthermore, the electrochemical hydrogen storage properties of three types of CNOs have been investigated.Measurements show that the Ni@CNOs have the highest discharge capacity of 387.2 mAh/g,coiTesponding to a hydrogen storage of 1.42%.This comparison study shows the advantages of each catalyst in the growth of CNOs.enabling the controllable synthesis and tuning the properties of CNOs by mediating different metals and their alloy for using in the fuel cell system.Chenguang Zhang Jiajun Li Chunsheng Shi Chunnian He Enzuo Liu Naiqin Zhao 2014Journal of Energy Chemistry2014,23,3:5
Accelerating DNN-based 3D point cloud processing for mobile computing显示文摘3D point cloud data, which are produced by various 3D sensors such as LIDAR and stereo cameras, have been widely deployed by industry leaders such as Google,Uber,Tesla, and Mobileye, for mobile robotic applications such as autonomous driving and humanoid robots.Point cloud data, which are composed of reliable depth information, can provide accurate location and shape characteristics for scene understanding, such as object recognition and semantic segmentation. However, deep neural networks(DNNs),which directly consume point cloud data, are particularly computation-intensive because they have to not only perform multiplication-and-accumulation(MAC)operations but also search neighbors from the irregular 3D point cloud data.Such a task goes beyond the capabilities of general-purpose processors in realtime to figure out the solution as the scales of both point cloud data and DNNs increase from application to application. We present the first accelerator architecture that dynamically configures the hardware onthe-fly to match the computation of both neighbor point search and MAC computation for point-based DNNs.To facilitate the process of neighbor point search and reduce the computation costs,a grid-based algorithm is introduced to search neighbor points from a local region of grids.Evaluation results based on the scene recognition and segmentation tasks show that the proposed design harvests 16.4x higher performance and saves 99.95%of energy than an NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPU baseline in point cloud scene understanding applications.Bosheng LIU Xiaoming CHEN Yinhe HAN Jiajun LI Haobo XU Xiaowei LI 2019Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,11:4
Co-implantation of magnesium and zinc ions into titanium regulates the behaviors of human gingival fibroblasts显示文摘Soft tissue sealing around implants acts as a barrier between the alveolar bone and oral environment, protecting implants from the invasion of bacteria or external stimuli. In this work, magnesium(Mg)and zinc(Zn)are introduced into titanium by plasma immersed ion implantation technology, and their effects on the behaviors of human gingival fibroblasts(HGFs)as well as the underlying mechanisms are investigated.Surface characterization confirms Mg and Zn exist on the surface in metallic and oxidized states.Contact angle test suggests that surface wettability of titanium changes after ion implantation and thus influences protein adsorption of surfaces. In vitro studies disclose that HGFs on Mg ion-implanted samples exhibit better adhesion and migration while cells on Zn ion-implanted samples have higher proliferation rate and amounts. The results of immunofluorescence staining and real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)suggest that Mg mainly regulates the motility and adhesion of HGFs through activating the MAPK signal pathway whereas Zn influences HGFs proliferation by triggering the TGF-βsignal pathway. The synergistic effect of Mg and Zn ions ensure that HGFs cultured on co-implanted samples possessed both high proliferation rate and motility, which are critical to soft tissue sealing of implants.Lanyu Wang Qiming Luo Xianming Zhang Jiajun Qiu Shi Qian Xuanyong Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,1:4
Adaptive Decentralized Output-Constrained Control of Single-Bus DC Microgrids显示文摘A single-bus DC microgrid can represent a wide range of applications. Control objectives of such systems include high-performance bus voltage regulation and proper load sharing among multiple distributed generators(DGs) under various operating conditions. This paper presents a novel decentralized control algorithm that can guarantee both the transient voltage control performance and realize the predefined load sharing percentages. First, the output-constrained control problem is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained one. Second, a two-step backstepping control algorithm is designed based on the transformed model for bus-voltage regulation. Since the overall control effort can be split proportionally and calculated with locally-measurable signals, decentralized load sharing can be realized. The control design requires neither accurate parameters of the output filters nor load measurement. The stability of the transformed systems under the proposed control algorithm can indirectly guarantee the transient bus voltage performance of the original system. Additionally, the high-performance control design is robust, flexible, and reliable. Switch-level simulations under both normal and fault operating conditions demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.Jiangkai Peng Bo Fan Jiajun Duan Qinmin Yang Wenxin Liu 2019IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,2:4
Distributed Control of Multiple-Bus Microgrid With Paralleled Distributed Generators显示文摘A microgrid is hard to control due to its reduced inertia and increased uncertainties. To overcome the challenges of microgrid control, advanced controllers need to be developed. In this paper, a distributed, two-level, communication-economic control scheme is presented for multiple-bus microgrids with each bus having multiple distributed generators(DGs) connected in parallel. The control objective of the upper level is to calculate the voltage references for one-bus subsystems. The objectives of the lower control level are to make the subsystems' bus voltages track the voltage references and to enhance load current sharing accuracy among the local DGs. Firstly, a distributed consensusbased power sharing algorithm is introduced to determine the power generations of the subsystems. Secondly, a discrete-time droop equation is used to adjust subsystem frequencies for voltage reference calculations. Finally, a Lyapunov-based decentralized control algorithm is designed for bus voltage regulation and proportional load current sharing. Extensive simulation studies with microgrid models of different levels of detail are performed to demonstrate the merits of the proposed control scheme.Bo Fan Jiangkai Peng Jiajun Duan Qinmin Yang Wenxin Liu 2019IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,3:4
Enabling Energy Efficiency in 5G Network显示文摘The mobile Internet and Internet of Things are considered the main driving forc⁃es of 5G,as they require an ultra-dense deployment of small base stations to meet the in⁃creasing traffic demands.5G new radio(NR)access is designed to enable denser network deployments, while leading to a significant concern about the network energy consump⁃tion.Energy consumption is a main part of network operational expense(OPEX),and base stations work as the main energy consumption equipment in the radio access network(RAN).In order to achieve RAN energy efficiency(EE),switching off cells is a strategy to reduce the energy consumption of networks during off-peak conditions. This paper intro⁃duces NR cell switching on/off schemes in 3GPP to achieve energy efficiency in 5G RAN,including intra-system energy saving(ES)scheme and inter-system ES scheme.Addition⁃ally,NR architectural features including central unit/distributed unit(CU/DU)split and dual connectivity(DC)are also considered in NR energy saving. How to apply artificial in⁃telligence(AI)into 5G networks is a new topic in 3GPP,and we also propose a machine learning(ML)based scheme to save energy by switching off the cell selected relying on the load prediction.According to the experiment results in the real wireless environment, the ML based ES scheme can reduce more power consumption than the conventional ES scheme without load prediction.LIU Zhuang GAO Yin LI Dapeng CHEN Jiajun HAN Jiren 2021ZTE Communications2021,19,1:4
Routing valley exciton emission of a WS_(2) monolayer via delocalized Bloch modes of in-plane inversion-symmetry-broken photonic crystal slabs显示文摘The valleys of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)offer a new degree of freedom for information processing. To take advantage of this valley degree of freedom,on the one hand,it is feasible to control valleys by utilizing different external stimuli, such as optical and electric fields. On the other hand, nanostructures are also used to separate the valleys by near-field coupling. However, for both of the above methods, either the required low-temperature environment or low degree of coherence properties limit their further applications. Here,we demonstrate that all-dielectric photonic crystal(PhC)slabs without in-plane inversion symmetry(C_(2) symmetry)can separate and route valley exciton emission of a WS2 monolayer at room temperature.Coupling with circularly polarized photonic Bloch modes of such PhC slabs, valley photons emitted by a WS_(2) monolayer are routed directionally and are efficiently separated in the far field. In addition,far-field emissions are directionally enhanced and have long-distance spatial coherence properties.Jiajun Wang Han Li Yating Ma Maoxiong Zhao Wenzhe Liu Bo Wang Shiwei Wu Xiaohan Liu Lei Shi Tian Jiang Jian Zi 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4

Selenium Enrichment in Cambrian Stratabound Gold Deposits in the Western Qinling Mountains显示文摘Stratabound gold deposits in the western Qinling Mountains occur in Cambrian chert formation composed of carbonaceous chert and carbonaceous slate. The distinctive chert formation provides important grounds for the mineralization and controls on the formation of gold deposits. Study shows that Se is exceptionally higher in both host rocks and gold orebodies. It may be recovered as a valuable component in ores for total utilization, and in some localities even independent Se orebodies (which are mined exclusively for Se) may be delineated. In gold ore Se mainly occurs as independent minerals or in the isomorphous form in sulphides and there is a positive correlation between Se and Au.Liu Jiajun,Open Laboratory of Ore Deposit Geochemistry, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guiyang, Guizhou 550002Zheng Minghua, Chengdu Institute of Technology, Chengdu, Sichuan 610059Liu Jianming, Research Centre of Mineral Resources Exploration, Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100101Zhou Yufeng, Gu Xuexiang, Zhang Bin, Lin Li, Chengdu Institute of Technology, Chengdu, Sichuan 610059and Lu Wenquan Institute of Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Resources, Chengdu, Sichuan 610041 1997Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)1997,71,4:3
