2Long-term thermal regimes of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway embankments in plateau permafrost regions显示文摘Ten years of ground temperature data(2003–2013) indicate that the long-term thermal regimes within embankments of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway(QTR) vary significantly with different embankment structures. Obvious asymmetries exist in the ground temperature fields within the traditional embankment(TE) and the crushed-rock basement embankment(CRBE). Measurements indicate that the TE and CRBE are not conducive to maintaining thermal stability. In contrast, the ground temperature fields of both the crushed-rock sloped embankment(CRSE) and the U-shaped crushed-rock embankment(UCRE) were symmetrical. However, the UCRE gave better thermal stability than the CRSE because slow warming of deep permafrost was observed under the CRSE. Therefore, the UCRE has the best long-term effect of decreasing ground temperature and improving the symmetry of the temperature field. More generally, it is concluded that construction using the cooling-roadbed principle meets the design requirements for long-term stability of the railway and for train transport speeds of 100 km h?1. 3δ^(13)C and water-use efficiency indicated by δ^(13)C of different plant functional groups on Changbai Mountains, Northeast China显示文摘Leaf δ13C of different plant functional groups (trees, shrubs and forbs; evergreen and deciduous; annual, biennial and perennial) were examined on the Changbai Mountains, China. Life form has a significant influence on plant δ13C, suggesting that leaf δ13C is also ideal for distinguishing functional groups species in temperate and frigid zones with high humidity. Additionally, the difference of water-use efficiency (WUE) is significant among different plant functional groups. δ13C and WUE are in the following order of forbs < shrubs < trees. Within shrubs, δ13C and WUE are higher for evergreen shrubs than deciduous shrubs. 4In-situ testing study on convection and temperature characteristics of a new crushed-rock slope embankment design in a permafrost region显示文摘For the purpose of enhancing air convection and controlling solar radiation, a new crushed-rock slope embankment design combined with a sun-shade measure is proposed. A newly designed embankment was constructed in the Tuotuohe section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and a field-testing experiment was carried out to determine its convection and temperature characteristics. The results show that distinct air convection occurred in the crushed-rock layer of the new embankment, especially in cold seasons, which was enhanced when it flowed upwards along the slope. This preliminarily indicated that the new design of the embankment slope was good for reinforcing air convection in the crushed-rock layer. The frequent fluctuations of the convection speed and the environmental wind speed were in good agreement, suggesting that the convection in the crushed rock primarily came from the ambient wind. It was also preliminarily determined that the new embankment had a better cooling effect and sun-shade effect for decreasing the temperature of the embankment slope compared with a traditional crushed-rock slope embankment, and the mean temperature difference between them was up to 1.7 °C. The mean annual temperature at the bottom boundary of the crushed-rock layer was obviously lower than that at the top boundary, and heat flux calculation showed that the shallow soil beneath the embankment slope was weakly releasing heat, all of which indicated that the new embankment slope design was beneficial to the thermal stability of the embankment. 5Microfluidic fabrication of water-in-water droplets encapsulated in hydrogel microfibers显示文摘Aqueous microdroplets are of significant interest in biological fields, while the employment of water-inoil (w/o) emulsion and lack of spatial control precluded its widespread application. Herein a novel microfluidic approach is developed to generate water-in-water (w/w) microdroplets embedded in hydrogel microfibers. Aqueous two phase system (ATPS) is applied to generate w/w droplets, and alginate is introduced to continuous phase to form microfibers, which offers spatial restriction and manipulation possibility to droplets. The size and pattern of aqueous droplets can be precisely controlled, and immobilization within hydrogel fiber facilitates easy manipulation and observation. 6Qualitative and quantitative analysis of glucosinolates and nucleosides in Radix Isatidis by HPLC and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘Multi-component fingerprinting and quantitation of the glucosinolates and nucleosides in samples of Radix Isatidis have been carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection and electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC–DAD–ESI/MS).Five nucleosides together with one glucosinolate were identified by comparing retention times,ultraviolet spectra,mass spectra and/or empirical molecular formulae of reference compounds.Quantitation of these six compounds was carried out simultaneously by HPLC on a Phenomenex Luna C18 column using gradient elution with methanol and water and detection at 254 nm.All calibration curves were linear(r40.9994)within test ranges.Limits of detection and quantitation were 0.33 ng and 2.50 ng on column,respectively.Intra-and inter-day precision(as relative standard deviation)for all analytes was o2.19%with recoveries in the range 99.6%–101.8%at three concentration levels.The validated method was successfully applied to fingerprinting and assay of 25 batches of Radix Isatidis sourced from different geographical regions of China.The method is simple and reliable and has potential value in the quality control of Radix Isatidis.Xiuming Wang Yuanyuan Xie Xiaomei Hu Youkang Li Ping Hu Yiming Wang Qionglin Liang Guoan Luo 2013Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,5:2
7Short-time Lv transform and its application for non-linear FM signal detection显示文摘A new time-frequency transform, known as short-time Lv transform(STLVT), is proposed by applying the inverse Lv distribution to process consecutive segments of long data sequence.Compared with other time-frequency representations, the STLVT is able to achieve better energy concentration in the time-frequency domain for signals containing multiple linear and/or non-linear frequency modulated components. The merits of the STLVT are demonstrated in terms of the effects of window length and overlap length between adjacent segments on signal energy concentration in the time-frequency domain, and the required computational complexity. 9Dating of two thermokarst lakes in Beiluhe Basin, Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Most of the thermokarst lakes are spread appreciably in Beiluhe Basin,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China,where ice-rich permafrost exists.Two typical thermokarst lakes with differing area and depth were examined to ascertain their age.We obtained lake-bottom samples of 50 cm length from lake BLH-A and 25 cm length from lake BLH-B.Environmental 137 Cs and 210 Pb and radiocarbon age dating techniques were applied to the 50 cm and 25 cm samples,respectively.The results indicate that the initiation of BLH-A is about 800–900 a B.P.,and approximately 1,450±30 a B.P.to 2,230±30 a B.P.for BLH-B.These results will provide scientific bases for sedimentological study and thermokarst activity in Beiluhe Basin.ZhanJu Lin FuJun Niu Jing Luo MingHao Liu GuoAn Yin 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,5:1

19Application of near-infrared spectroscopy for the rapid analysis of Lonicerae Japonicae Flos solution extracted by water显示文摘A rapid quantitative analytical method for three components of Lonicerae Japornicae Flos solution(Lonicera Japonica Thumb.)extracted by water was developed using near-infrared(NIR)spectroscopy and the partial least-squares(PLS)method.The NIR spectra of 81 samples collected from a production line were obtained.The concentrations of secologanic acid,chlorogenicacid and galuteolin were detemmined by using high-performance liquid chromatography-diodearray detection as the reference method.Several pretreatment methods for the NIR spectra wereusedi during PLS calibration.The most appropriate latent variable number of the PLS factor wasselected based on the standard error of cross-validation(SECV).The performance of the finalPLS models was evaluated according to SECV,standard error of predliction(SEP)and deter-mination coeficient(R^(2)).The compounds secologanic acid,chlorogenic acid and galuteolin hadSEP values of 0.030,0.061 and 1.668μg/mL,respectively and R^(2) values over 0.85.This workshows that NIR spectroscopy is a rapid and convenient method for the analysis of LoniceraeJaponicae Flos solution extracted by water.The proposed method can help in the application ofprocs analytical technology in the pha maceutical industry,particularly in tra ditional Chinesemedicine injections.Xue Xiao Jinfang Ma Fahuan Ge Xiangdong Zhang Huihua Yang Qionghin Liang Yiming Wang Guoan Luo 2014Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2014,7,4:1
