2Nonlinear Bayesian Estimation: From Kalman Filtering to a Broader Horizon显示文摘This article presents an up-to-date tutorial review of nonlinear Bayesian estimation. State estimation for nonlinear systems has been a challenge encountered in a wide range of engineering fields, attracting decades of research effort. To date,one of the most promising and popular approaches is to view and address the problem from a Bayesian probabilistic perspective,which enables estimation of the unknown state variables by tracking their probabilistic distribution or statistics(e.g., mean and covariance) conditioned on a system's measurement data.This article offers a systematic introduction to the Bayesian state estimation framework and reviews various Kalman filtering(KF)techniques, progressively from the standard KF for linear systems to extended KF, unscented KF and ensemble KF for nonlinear systems. 3Vegetation structural characteristics and topographic factors in the remnant moist Afromontane forest of Wondo Genet, south central Ethiopia显示文摘For forest ecosystem management to be effective, knowledge of the horizontal and vertical structural diversity of a forest is essential. The moist Afromontane highlands of Wondo Genet in south-central Ethiopia present an opportunity to restore and rehabilitate and enhance the ecosystem services to be obtained from this forest sustainably. We focused on the forest structural characteristics to better understand the current forest conditions to assist in the sustainable management of this resource. A total of 75 (20 m × 20 m) quadrats were sampled and diameter at breast height (DBH)≥2 cm and stem height≥2 m were measured. Species identity and abundance, elevation, slope, and aspect were recorded for each plot. Structural characteristics were computed for each plot. Relationship of topographic factors with vegetation characteristics was conducted using R-Software. A total of 72 woody species was recorded. Whereas, the overall diameter distribution shows an inverted J-shaped curve, the basal area followed a bell-shaped pattern. Five types of population structures are revealed. The mean tree density and basal area was 397.3 stems ha-1 and 31.4 m2·ha-1 , respectively. Only 2.8% of the tree species have densities of≥25 stems ha-1 and the percentage distribution of trees show 56.2% in the DBH class 2-10 cm, indicating that the forest is dominated by medium-sized trees. Celtis africana (8.81 m2·ha-1 ) and Pouteria adolfi-friedericii (5.13 m2·ha-1 ) make the highest contribution to the basal area and species importance value index. The families/species with the highest importance value index are Ulmaceae, Fabacea and Sapotaceae. Species abundance (r2 = 0.32, p <0.001) and species richness (r2 =0.50, p <0.001) are positively related with tree density. Tree density is negatively related with elevation (r2 = -0.36, p <0.001), slope (r2 =-0.15, p <0.001) and aspect (r2 = -0.07, p <0.05). While basal area is negatively related with elevation (r2 =-0.14, p <0.001), it has a positive relationship with tree density (r2 =0.28, p <0.001 and species richness (r2 =0.098). 4基于KMRW模型的跨区域水污染治理合作联盟稳定性分析显示文摘近年来,水资源短缺被国际社会高度重视,水污染是水资源短缺的主要原因之一。为了达到最优化的政府效应,水污染需要参与者的合作,因此稳定的跨区域水污染治理联盟是有效减轻水资源短缺难题的关键之一。文章应用KMRW声誉模型分析了不对称信息下重复博弈中合作联盟的稳定性。分析表明,为了防止不对称信息中跨区域水污染治理联盟参与各方的机会主义行为,合作积极的一方应该尽量保持长时间的合作次数,不积极的一方应投入一定的信号显示自己的合作行为。文章创新性地在声誉模型中引入补偿因子,分析其对合作联盟的影响以及和惩罚因子之间的互相限制作用,期望能为跨区域水污染治理中各方保持联盟的稳定提供有用的建议。安敏 何伟军 沈菊琴 Dagmawi Mulugeta Degufu 袁亮 2018生态经济2018,34,1:4
5Determinants of neonatal jaundice in Ethiopia:a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background Neonatal jaundice is a common condition characterized by a yellowish discoloration of the skin,conjunctiva,and sclera caused by elevated serum or plasma bilirubin levels during the newborn period.The condition is usually not dangerous,but it can progress to severe hyperbilirubinemia,which can lead to acute bilirubin encephalopathy and kernicterus,a bilirubin-induced neurological damage.Therefore,this study aimed to assess the pooled prevalence of neonatal jaundice and its determinants in Ethiopia.Methods Scopus,PubMed,Google Scholar,Embase,and CINAHL databases were searched for studies published between January 1,2010 and July 30,2021.A weighted DerSimonian Laird random-effects model was used to estimate the pooled prevalence of neonatal jaundice and its associated factors.The I2 was used to calculate the degree of heterogeneity.The funnel plot and Egger's regression test were used to assess publication bias.Results Totally 697 articles were generated from various databases,and the review included a total of eight articles.The pooled prevalence of neonatal jaundice was 30.96%[95%confidence interval(CI)16.61%–45.31%)]in Ethiopia.This review showed that prolonged labor[adjusted odd ratio(AOR)=3.39;95%CI 2.41–4.77),low birth weight(AOR=5.12;95%CI 3.11–8.72),birth asphyxia(AOR=3.75;95%CI 2.11–6.66),cephalohematoma(AOR=7.07;95%CI 2.72–18.38),ABO incompatibility(AOR=6.05;95%CI 2.95–12.42),Rhesus(RH)incompatibility(AOR=3.77;95%CI 2.04–6.96),male sex(AOR=4.53;95%CI 3.39–6.07),and neonatal sepsis(AOR=2.47;95%CI 1.49–4.08)were identified as a determining factor for neonatal jaundice in Ethiopia.Conclusions In low-and middle-income countries,neonatal jaundice is a significant healthcare burden,accounting for a significant portion of global childhood mortality and morbidity.However,some low-cost,effective,practical,and dependable solutions have been implemented.Prolonged labor,ABO incompatibility,RH incompatibility,birth asphyxia,neonatal sepsis,low birth weight,cephalohematoma,and male sex were identified as risk factors for neonatal jaundice in Ethiopia.Habtamu Gebrehana Belay Getachew Arage Debebe Alemu Degu Ayele Bekalu Getnet Kassa Gedefaye Nibret Mihretie Mulugeta Dile Worke 2022World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,11:3

9Impact of climate-smart agricultural technology on multidimensional poverty in rural Ethiopia显示文摘A large body of empirical literature showed that the adoption of agricultural technologies reduces poverty. However, dominants of those studies so far used one-dimensional income or expenditure-based measures of poverty which may not reflect other types of deprivations. Therefore, the major objective of this study is to examine the impact of adopting climate-smart agricultural technology, which refers to a joint application of row planting methods and the use of chemical fertilizers, on the multidimensional poverty status of rural households in Ethiopia. To estimate the impact of the stated technologies, this study employs propensity score matching and endogenous switching regression methods. To measure the multidimensional poverty index, the study also uses the Alkire and Foster counting approach. Using the Ethiopian Socioeconomic Survey(ESS), collected in 2015-Wave 3, the results of the study show that the adoption of these technologies reduces deprivation score and one of its component, the standard of living part. Regionally, a high reduction in deprivation is observed in Amhara and Oromiya regions. The results also show that the impact is significantly higher in severely deprived households. It is also observed that the reduction in multidimensional poverty due to the technology is through an increase in income/consumption via improvement in production gain. The impact channels more through the non-food expenditure pathway. 10Numerical investigation on the aerodynamic characteristics of high-speed train under turbulent crosswind显示文摘Increasing velocity combined with decreasing mass of modern high-speed trains poses a question about the influence of strong crosswinds on its aerodynamics.Strong crosswinds may affect the running stability of highspeed trains via the amplified aerodynamic forces and moments. In this study, a simulation of turbulent crosswind flows over the leading and end cars of ICE-2 high-speed train was performed at different yaw angles in static and moving ground case scenarios. Since the train aerodynamic problems are closely associated with the flows occurring around train, the flow around the train was considered as incompressible and was obtained by solving the incompressible form of the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes(RANS) equations combined with the realizable k-epsilon turbulence model. Important aerodynamic coefficients such as the side force and rolling moment coefficients were calculated for yaw angles ranging from-30° to60° and compared with the results obtained from wind tunnel test. The dependence of the flow structure on yaw angle was also presented. The nature of the flow field and its structure depicted by contours of velocity magnitude and streamline patterns along the train's cross-section were presented for different yaw angles. In addition, the pressure coefficient around the circumference of the train at different locations along its length was computed for yaw angles of 30° and 60°. The computed aerodynamic coefficient outcomes using the realizable k-epsilon turbulencemodel were in good agreement with the wind tunnel data.Both the side force coefficient and rolling moment coefficients increase steadily with yaw angle till about 50° before starting to exhibit an asymptotic behavior. Contours of velocity magnitude were also computed at different crosssections of the train along its length for different yaw angles. The result showed that magnitude of rotating vortex in the lee ward side increased with increasing yaw angle,which leads to the creation of a low-pressure region in the lee ward side of the train causing high side force and roll moment. Generally, this study shows that unsteady CFDRANS methods combined with an appropriate turbulence model can present an important means of assessing the crucial aerodynamic forces and moments of a high-speed train under strong crosswind conditions.Mulugeta Biadgo Asress Jelena Svorcan 2014Journal of Modern Transportation2014,22,4:2
