1Flow Ripple of Axial Piston Pump with Computational Fluid Dynamic Simulation Using Compressible Hydraulic Oil显示文摘The flow ripple, which is the source of noise in an axial piston pump, is widely studied today with the computational fluid dynamic(CFD) technology development. In the traditional CFD modeling, the fluid compressibility, which strongly influences the accuracy of the flow ripple simulation results, is often neglected. So a compressible sub-model was added with user defined function(UDF) in the CFD model to predict the flow ripple. At the same time, a test rig of flow ripple was built to study the validity of simulation. The flow ripple of pump was tested with different working parameters, including the rotation speed and the working pressure. The comparisons with experimental results show that the validity of the CFD model with compressible hydraulic oil is acceptable in analyzing the flow ripple characteristics. In this paper, the improved CFD model increases the accuracy of flow ripple rate to about one-magnitude order. Therefore, the compressible model of hydraulic oil is necessary in the flow ripple investigation of CFD simulation. The compressibility of hydraulic oil has significant effect on flow ripple, and the compression ripple takes about 88% of the total flow ripple of pump. Leakage ripple has the lowest proportion of about 4%, and geometrical ripple leakage ripple takes the remnant 8%. Besides, the influence of working parameters was investigated through the CFD simulations and experimental measurements. Comparison results show that the amplitude of flow ripple grows with the increasing of rotation speed and working pressure, and the flow ripple rate is independent of the rotation speed. However, flow ripple rate of piston pump grows with the increasing of working pressure, because the leakage ripple will increase with the pressure growing. 2Carrier frequency offset and impulse noise estimation for underwater acoustic orthogonal frequency division multiplexing显示文摘The carrier frequency offset(CFO)and impulse noise always affect the performance of underwater acoustic communication_systems.The CFO and impulse noise could be estimated by using the null subcarriers to cancel the effects of the two types of interference.The null subcarriers estimation methods include optimal separate estimation and joint estimation.The separate estimation firstly estimates the CFO value and then estimates the impulse noise value.However,the CFO and impulse noise always affect each other when either of them is estimated separately.The performance could be improved by using the joint estimation.The results of simulations and experiments have showed that these two optimization methods have good performance and the joint estimation has better performance than the separate estimation method.There is 3 dB performance gain at the BER value of 10^(-2)when using the joint estimation method.Thus these methods could improve the system robustness by using the CFO compensation and impulse noise suppression.SUN Haixin XU Xiaoka MA Li KUAI Xiaoyan CHENG En CHEN En 2014Chinese Journal of Acoustics2014,33,3:8

4Melamine modified carbon felts anode with enhanced electrogenesis capacity toward microbial fuel cells显示文摘Surface electropositivity and low internal resistance are important factors to improve the anode performance in microbial fuel cells(MFCs). Nitrogen doping is an effective way for the modification of traditional carbon materials. In this work, heat treatment and melamine were used to modify carbon felts to enhance electrogenesis capacity of MFCs. The modified carbon felts were characterized using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), scanning electron microscope(SEM), atomic force microscopy(AFM)and malvern zeta potentiometer. Results show that the maximum power densities under heat treatment increase from 276.1 to 423.4 m W/m^2(700 °C) and 461.5 m W/m^2(1200 °C) and further increase to472.5 m W/m^2(700 °C) and 515.4 m W/m^2(1200 °C) with the co-carbonization modification of melamine.The heat treatment reduces the material resistivity, improves the zeta potential which is beneficial to microbial adsorption and electron transfer. The addition of melamine leads to the higher content of surface pyridinic and quaternary nitrogen and higher zeta potential. It is related to higher MFCs performance. 5Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair.Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li 2023Research2023,,3:3
6The investigation of internal solitary waves over a continental shelf-slope显示文摘Internal solitary waves(ISWs)always happen in marginal seas,where stable stratification exists.ISWs may carry large energy when they propagate and affect marine engineering constructions such as marine drilling platforms.Previous studies,including a large number of mooring observations and laboratory experiments,show the speed of ISWs will change when they pass by shelf slopes.Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)theory explain this phenomenon.In the paper,we use a laboratory experiment and a numerical model experiment to verify this theory.In the laboratory experiment,we injected two layers of water of different densities in a tank to simulate marine stratification and make ISWs.We use a CCD camera to record the whole process.The camera can take 16 photos per second.In the numerical experiment,we input the same original conditions as the laboratory one.The results of 18 different original conditions show the dimensionless factorδplays a key role in deciding the amplitudes and shapes of ISWs.The main conclusion also contains that small-amplitude waves match well with KdV theory while mKdV is better for largeamplitude waves.Whether the laboratory experiment or numerical experiment shows results with a high agreement.In future studies,we may use a numerical model with higher resolution to get analysis about phase speed and energy of ISWs.MA Qian YUAN Chunxin LIN Xiaopei CHEN Xue’en 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3:3
7Rapid growth of a large-scale(600 mm aperture) KDP crystal and its optical quality显示文摘Potassium dihydrogen phosphate(KDP) single crystals are the only nonlinear crystals currently used for electro-optic switches and frequency converters in inertial confinement fusion research, due to their large dimension and exclusive physical properties. Based on the traditional solution-growth process, large bulk KDP crystals, usually with sizes up to600 × 600 mm2 so as to make a frequency doubler for the facility requirement loading highly flux of power laser, can be grown in standard Holden-type crystallizers, without spontaneous nucleation and visible defects, one to two orders of magnitude faster than by conventional methods. Pure water and KDP raw material with a few ion impurities such as Fe,Cr, and Al(less than 0.1 ppm) were used. The rapid-growth method includes extreme conditions such as temperature range from 60 to 35℃ , overcooling up to 5℃ , growth rates exceeding 10 mm/day, and crystal size up to 600 mm. The optical parameters of KDP crystals were determined. 8Gene expression dynamics during the gonocyte to spermatogonia transition and spermatogenesis in the domestic yak显示文摘Background:Spermatogenesis is a cellular differentiation process that includes three major events:mitosis of spermatogonia,meiosis of spermatocytes and spermiogenesis.Steady-state spermatogenesis relies on functions of spermatogonial stem cells(SSCs).Establishing and maintaining a foundational SSC pool is essential for continued spermatogenesis in mammals.Currently,our knowledge about SSC and spermatogenesis is severely limited in domestic animals.Results:In the present study,we examined transcriptomes of testes from domestic yaks at four different stages(3,5,8 and 24 months of age)and attempted to identify genes that are associated with key developmental events of spermatogenesis.Histological analyses showed that the most advanced germ cells within seminiferous tubules of testes from 3,5,8 and 24 months old yaks were gonocytes,spermatogonia,spermatocytes and elongated spermatids,respectively.RNA-sequencing(RNA-seq)analyses revealed that 11904,4381 and 2459 genes were differentially expressed during the gonocyte to spermatogonia transition,the mitosis to meiosis transition and the meiosis to post-meiosis transition.Further analyses identified a list of candidate genes than may regulate these important cellular processes.CXCR4,a previously identified SSC niche factor in mouse,was one of the up-regulated genes in the 5 months old yak testis.Results of immunohistochemical staining confirmed that CXCR4 was exclusively expressed in gonocytes and a subpopulation of spermatogonia in the yak testis.Conclusions:Together,these findings demonstrated histological changes of postnatal testis development in the domestic yak.During development of spermatogonial lineage,meiotic and haploid germ cells are supported by dynamic transcriptional regulation of gene expression.Our transcriptomic analyses provided a list of candidate genes that potentially play crucial roles in directing the establishment of SSC and spermatogenesis in yak.Guowen Wang Yongchang Li Qilin Yang Shangrong Xu Shike Ma Rongge Yan Ruina Zhang Gongxue Jia Deqiang Ai Qi’en Yang 2019Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,4:3

10Computational modeling sheds light on structural evolution in metallic glasses and supercooled liquids显示文摘This article presents an overview of three challenging issues that are currently being debated in the community researching on the evolution of amorphous structures in metallic glasses and their parent supercooled liquids.Our emphasis is on the valuable insights acquired in recent computational analyses that have supplemented experimental investigations.The first idea is to use the local structural order developed,and in particular its evolution during undercooling,as a signature indicator to rationalize the experimentally observed temperature-dependence of viscosity,hence suggesting a possible structural origin of liquid fragility.The second issue concerns with the claim that the average nearest-neighbor distance in metallic melts contracts rather than expands upon heating,concurrent with a reduced coordination number.This postulate is,however,based on the shift of the first peak maximum in the pair distribution function and an average bond length determined from nearest neighbors designated using a distance cutoff.These can instead be a result of increasing skewness of the broad first peak,upon thermally exacerbated asymmetric distribution of neighboring atoms activated to shorter and longer distances under the anharmonic interatomic interaction potential.The third topic deals with crystal-like peak positions in the pair distribution function of metallic glasses.These peak locations can be explained using various connection schemes of coordination polyhedra,and found to be present already in high-temperature liquids without hidden crystal order.We also present an outlook to invite more in-depth computational research to fully settle these issues in future,and to establish more robust structure-property relations in amorphous alloys.Jun Ding En Ma 2017npj Computational Materials2017,,1:3

17Evolution of Er^(3+) Distribution in the Oxyfluoride Glass Ceramics with Heating显示文摘The distribution characteristics of Er3+ ions doped in the oxyfluoride glass ceramics containing LaF3 nanocrystals heat-treated at 650 ℃ for different durations were investigated. The results of the integral absorption cross-section analysis demonstrated that the partition fraction of Er3+ in LaF3 nanocrystals increases with prolonging of heating time.
