1In vivo and in vitro phytochemical and antibacterial efficacy of Baliospermum montanum (Willd.) Muell.Arg.显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the phytochemical and anti-bacterial potential of mother plants in vivo and in vitro derived callus of Baliospermum montanum(B.montanum)(Willd.) Muell.-Arg. leaves and root.Methods:The in vitro derived rootlets and leaves segments of B.montanum were cut into 0.5-0.7 cm in length and cultured on Murashige and Skoog solid medium supplemented with 3%sucrose,gelled with 0.7%agar and different concentration of 2,4-D either alone or in combinations.The preliminary phytochemical screening was performed by Harborne method.Antibacterial efficacy was performed by well diffusion method and incubated for 24 h at 37℃.Results:The highest percentage of callus formation(leaves segments 86.9±0.56:root segments 78.7±0.51) was obtained on Murashige and Skoog’s basal medium supplemented with 3%sucrose and 2.0 mg/L of 2.4-Dichlorophenoxy acetic acid.The phytochemical study revealed the high quantity presence of steroids,triterpenoids,glycosides,saponins,alkaloids,flavanoids, phenolic compounds,tannins,sugars etc of root and leaves derived calli.The ethanol extract of leaves segment derived calli of B.montanum showed the maximum solubility and antimicrobial activity with the MIC ranged from 100 to 200μL.Conclusions:The preliminary phytochemical study confirmed that the calli mediated tissues showed the higher percentage of metabolite constituents and extraction value compared to the in vivo leaves and roots.The present study observation suggested that a possibility to establish high yielding genotypes by in vitro culture for production of medicinally important bioactive compounds.Johnson M Wesely EG Zahir Hussain MI Selvan N 2010Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,11:6
2Frequency and prognostic role of mucosal healing in patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis after one-year of biological therapy显示文摘AIM:To assess the endoscopic activity before and after a one-year period of biological therapy and to evaluate the frequency of relapses and need for retreatment after stopping the biologicals in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS:The data from 41 patients with CD and 22 patients with UC were assessed.Twenty-four CD patients received infliximab,and 17 received adalimumab.The endoscopic severity of CD was quantified with the simplified endoscopic activity score for Crohn’s disease in CD and with the Mayo endoscopic subscore in UC.RESULTS:Mucosal healing was achieved in 23 CD and7 UC patients.Biological therapy had to be restarted in78%of patients achieving complete mucosal healing with CD and in 100%of patients with UC.Neither clinical remission nor mucosal healing was associated with the time to restarting the biological therapy in either CD or UC.CONCLUSION:Mucosal healing did not predict sustained clinical remission in patients in whom the biological therapies had been stopped.Klaudia Farkas Péter László Lakatos Mónika Szcs va Pallagi-Kunstár Anita Bálint Ferenc Nagy Zoltán Szepes Noémi Vass Lajos S Kiss Tibor Wittmann Tamás Molnár 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,11:2
3Plant adaptation to low phosphorus availability:Core signaling,crosstalks,and applied implications显示文摘Phosphorus(P)is an essential nutrient for plant growth and reproduction.Plants preferentially absorb P as orthophosphate(Pi),an ion that displays low solubility and that is readily fixed in the soil,making P limita-tion a condition common to many soils and Pi fertilization an inefficient practice.To cope with Pi limitation,plants have evolved a series of developmental and physiological responses,collectively known as the Pi starvation rescue system(PSR),aimed to improve Pi acquisition and use efficiency(PUE)and protect from Pi-starvation-induced stress.Intensive research has been carried out during the last 20 years to un-ravel the mechanisms underlying the control of the PSR in plants.Here we review the results of this research effort that have led to the identification and characterization of several core Pi starvation signaling components,including sensors,transcription factors,microRNAs(miRNAs)and miRNA inhibitors,kinases,phosphatases,and components of the proteostasis machinery.We also refer to recent results revealing the existence of intricate signaling interplays between Pi and other nutrients and antagonists,N,Fe,Zn,and As,that have changed the initial single-nutrient-centric view to a more integrated view of nutrient homeostasis.Finally,we discuss advances toward improving PUE and future research priorities.Javier Paz-Ares Maria Isabel Puga Monica Rojas-Triana Iris Martinez-Hevia Sergio Diaz Cesar Poza-Carrión Miguel Mi(n)ambres Antonio Leyva 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,1:2
