2Implications of discoveries from genome-wide association studies in current cardiovascular practice显示文摘Genome-wide association studies(GWAS)have identified several genetic variants associated with coronary heart disease(CHD),and variations in plasma lipoproteins and blood pressure(BP).Loci corresponding to CDKN2A/CDKN2B/ANRIL,MTHFD1L,CELSR2,PSRC1 and SORT1 genes have been associated with CHD,and TMEM57,DOCK7,CELSR2,APOB,ABCG5,HMGCR,TRIB1,FADS2/S3,LDLR,NCAN and TOMM40-APOE with total cholesterol.Similarly,CELSR2-PSRC1-SORT1,PCSK9,APOB,HMGCR,NCAN-CILP2-PBX4,LDLR,TOMM40-APOE,and APOC1-APOE are associated with variations in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels.Altogether,forty,forty three and twenty loci have been associated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,triglycerides and BP phenotypes,respectively.Some of these identified loci are common for all the traits,some do not map to functional genes,and some are located in genes that encode for proteins not previously known to be involved in the biological pathway of the trait.GWAS have been successful at identifying new and unexpected genetic loci common to diseases and traits,thus rapidly providing key novel insights into disease biology.Since genotype information is fixed,with minimum biological variability,it is useful in early life risk prediction.However,these variants explain only a small proportion of the observed variance of these traits.Therefore,the utility of genetic determinants in assessing risk at later stages of life has limited immediate clinical impact.The future application of genetic screening will be in identifying risk groups early in life to direct targeted preventive measures.Panniyammakal Jeemon Kerry Pettigrew Christopher Sainsbury Dorairaj Prabhakaran Sandosh Padmanabhan 2011World Journal of Cardiology2011,3,7:6
3Youth Participation at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction显示文摘This article summarizes and analyzes the Children & Youth Forum and youth participation in the process during and leading up to the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction(WCDRR) in2015. An organizing committee consisting of international students and young professionals brought together around200 young professionals and students from around the globe to exchange ideas and knowledge on reducing disaster risk, building resilient communities, and advocating for the inclusion of youth priorities within the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030(SFDRR). The knowledge exchange during the Forum was structured around a Toolbox for Resilience that connected to the SFDRR section on Priorities for Action. This article presents the outcomes of these young people’s participation in the disaster risk reduction capacity building eventsand policy-making, as well as the follow-up actions envisioned by the young participants of the Forum. The voices of the younger generation were heard in the SFDRR and young people are ready to expand their actions for the framework’s effective implementation. 4Human-carnivore conflict in China: a review of current approaches with recommendations for improved management显示文摘Human-wildlife conflict(HWC)is a conservation concern that increasingly threatens the continued existence of some of the world’s most endangered species.With an increase in human population,urban sprawl and sub­sequent encroachment on wild land,human and wildlife interaction has become inevitable.In the majority of cases,this interaction results in a negative outcome for humans,wildlife or both.In China,these key elements,along with a decrease in wild prey species,have resulted in the expansion of HWC encounters,and the need for alleviating this conflict has become a conservation priority.Loss of human life,livestock and/or crops is most often the catalysts that fuel HWC.Techniques to alleviate conflict around the world have included preventative measures and mitigation techniques,such as financial compensation and other incentive programs.Both types of measures have had variable success.We review the current status of human-carnivore conflict management in China,and,drawing lessons from around the globe,we make recommendations for improving conservation management in China.For example,an increase in law enforcement in nature reserves is vital to reducing hu­man disturbance in prime carnivore habitat,thereby reducing conflict encounters.Also,modifications to current wildlife compensation programs,so that they are linked with preventative measures,will ensure that moral haz­ards are avoided.Furthermore,investigating the potential for a community self-financed insurance scheme to fund compensation and increasing efforts to restore wild prey populations will improve the outcome for wildlife conservation.Ultimately,HWC management in China will greatly benefit from an integrative approach.Melissa PETTIGREW Yan XIE Aili KANG Madhu RAO John GOODRICH Tong LIU Joshua BERGER 2012Integrative Zoology2012,7,2:3

6脑组织TNFɑ过度表达对神经胶质细胞及脑缺血梗死灶体积的影响显示文摘目的:探讨脑组织肿瘤坏死因子ɑ(TNFɑ)过度表达对小胶质细胞、星形胶质细胞激活及脑缺血梗死灶体积的影响。方法:用TNFɑ、胶质纤维酸性蛋白(GFAP)、髓磷脂、整合素ɑM(OX42)免疫组化染色观察SD大鼠与转小鼠TNFɑ基因大鼠未缺血脑组织的TNFɑ表达及3种神经胶质细胞穴星形胶质细胞、小胶质细胞与少突神经胶质细胞雪的激活状态。采用线栓法制作大鼠大脑中动脉闭塞模型,SD大鼠与转小鼠TNFɑ基因大鼠缺血1h再灌注72h后,先行神经功能缺损程度评分,再断头取脑四氯氮唑(TTC)染色计算脑梗死体积。结果:转小鼠TNFɑ基因大鼠与SD大鼠相比,未缺血脑组织见TNFɑ表达,且星形胶质细胞、小胶质细胞与少突神经胶质细胞呈肥大和增生性变化;缺血1h再灌注72h后神经功能缺损程度评分显著增高,脑梗死灶体积显著增大。结论:未缺血时脑组织TNFɑ的表达可明显激活3种神经胶质细胞,TNFɑ的过度表达可使脑缺血时神经功能明显恶化及脑梗死体积明显增加,提示TNFɑ的过度表达可明显加剧缺血性脑损伤。李义召 曹秀玲 王凤山 程艳娜 孙若鹏 于进 朱虹 Pettigrew LC Kindy MS 2004山东大学学报(医学版)2004,42,5:2
