| 3 | Quantification and timing of porosity evolution in tight sand gas reservoirs:an example from the Middle Jurassic Shaximiao Formation,western Sichuan,China显示文摘The diagenesis and porosity evolution of the Middle Jurassic Shaximiao sandstones were analyzed based on petrographic observations.X-ray diffractometry.scanning electron microscopy observations,carbon and oxygen stable isotope geochemistry,fluid inclusion microthermometry,and thermal and burial history modeling results.The point count data show that secondary pores(av.5.5%) are more abundant than primary pores(av.3.7%) and are thus the dominant pore type in the Shaximiao sandstones.Analysis of porosity evolution indicates that alteration of sandstones mainly occurred during two paragenetic stages.Mechanical compaction and cementation by early chlorite,calcite,and quartz typically decrease the depositional porosity(40.9%) by an average of37.2%,leaving porosity of 3.7%after stage Ⅰ(<85 ℃,175-145 Ma).The original intergranular porosity loss due to compaction is calculated to be 29.3%,suggesting that mechanical compaction is the most significant diagenetic process in primary porosity destruction.Stage Ⅱ can be further divided into two sub-stages(Stage Ⅱ_a and StageⅡ_b).Stage Ⅱ_a(85-120 ℃,145-125 Ma) is characterized by late dissolution,which enhanced porosity by 8.8%,and the porosity increased from 3.7%to 12.5%.During stageⅡ_b(>120 ℃,125-0 Ma),the precipitation of late chlorite,calcite,quartz,and kaolinite destroyed 3.3%porosity,leaving porosity of 9.2%in the rock today. | Zheng-Xiang Lü Su-Juan Ye Xiang Yang Rong Li Yuan-Hua Qing | 2015 | Petroleum Science2015,12,2: | 13 |
| 4 | Probabilistic assessment of tunnel convergence considering spatial variability in rock mass properties using interpolated autocorrelation and response surface method显示文摘This study aims at the probabilistic assessment of tunnel convergence considering the spatial variability in rock mass properties. The method of interpolated autocorrelation combined with finite difference analysis is adopted to model the spatial variability of rock mass properties. An iterative procedure using the first-order reliability method(FORM) and response surface method(RSM) is employed to compute the reliability index and its corresponding design point. The results indicate that the spatial variability considerably affects the computed reliability index. The probability of failure could be noticeably overestimated in the case where the spatial variability is neglected. The vertical scale of fluctuation has a much higher effect on the probabilistic result with respect to the tunnel convergence than the horizontal scale of fluctuation. | 5 | Activation of bone morphogenetic protein-6 gene transcription in MCF-7 cells by estrogen显示文摘Background Bone morphogenetic protein-6 (BMP-6) is closely correlated with tumor differentiation and skeletal metastasis. Estrogen is considered as a stimulant for the initiation and promotion of breast cancer. Previous studies demonstrated that 17β-estadiol (E2) can selectively increase the expression of BMP-6. This experiment is designed to detect the molecular mechanism of estrogen activating BMP-6 gene transcription in human estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer cell line MCF-7. Methods After the treatment of MCF-7 cells with E2 at different concentrations (10-11 mol/L, 10-9 mol/L, 10-7 mol/L), the BMP-6 expression level was examined through real-time polymerase chain reaction. Through restriction enzyme digestion, human BMP-6 1.2 kb long promoter, BMP-6 0.7 kb long promoter was cloned into pGL-3 basic vector; after the treatment with 10-7 mol/L E2, luciferase activities of the two promoters were detected. Site-directed mutagenesis was performed to obtain the mutant forms of estrogen response element half-site (1/2 ERE) element and Sp1 sites in the BMP-6 promoter, the activities of these mutant form promoters were detected following the methods mentioned above. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay was also used to confirm the binding of estrogen receptor α (Erα) on BMP-6 promoter in the presence of E2. Results E2 dose dependently increased BMP-6 mRNA expression in human ER+ breast cancer cell line MCF-7. At a dose of 10-7 mol/L E2, human BMP-6 1.2 kb promoter activity was increased by 90% compared with the control group treated with ethanol (P<0.05). Both the 1/2 ERE response element mutant form and the Sp1 site mutant form of the BMP-6 promoter abolished the activation of the BMP-6 promoter's response to E2. Through ChIP assay, the binding of Erα on 1/2 ERE response element in BMP-6 promoter was further validated. | 6 | Antiviral effect of polysaccharide from Spirulina platensis(PSP) on HSV-2 in vitro显示文摘To explore the antiviral effect and mechanism of polysaccharide from Spirulina platensis (PSP) on herpes simplex vims type 2 (HSV-2), a standard strain of HSV-2 (333 strain) was used to investigate the antiviral effect of PSP in vitro . PSP in various concentrations was applied to different stages of HSV-2 replication cycle. Finally, the virus infectivity (TCID50),cytopathic effect (CPE), and MTT staining method for viable cells (MTT assay) were used as markers to evaluate the effect of PSP on HSV-2. The quantity of HSV-DNA was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (FQ-PCR). The HSV-2 infected Vero cell ultrastructures were observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that PSP had little cytotoxic effect on Vero cells, it could not directly inactivate HSV-2 infectivity. PSP not only interfered in adsorption of HSV-2 to Vero cells but also inllibited HSV-2 biosynthesis in the cells. FQ-PCR results showed that the inhibitory rate on HSV-DNA also increased in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner. TEM also confirmed that PSP exhibited pronounced inhibitory effect on HSV-2. The generator is of a reconfigurable array structure composed of 30 processing elements(PEs). The coordinate rotational digital computer(CORDIC) algorithm is implemented on this structure. Different functions, such as sine, cosine, inverse tangent, logarithmic, etc., can be calculated based on the structure by reconfiguring the functions of PEs. | 13 | Estimation of fracture size and azimuth in the universal elliptical disc model based on trace information显示文摘The geometric characteristics of fractures within a rock mass can be inferred by the data sampling from boreholes or exposed surfaces.Recently,the universal elliptical disc(UED)model was developed to represent natural fractures,where the fracture is assumed to be an elliptical disc and the fracture orientation,rotation angle,length of the long axis and ratio of short-long axis lengths are considered as variables.This paper aims to estimate the fracture size-and azimuth-related parameters in the UED model based on the trace information from sampling windows.The stereological relationship between the trace length,size-and azimuth-related parameters of the UED model was established,and the formulae of the mean value and standard deviation of trace length were proposed.The proposed formulae were validated via the Monte Carlo simulations with less than 5%of error rate between the calculated and true values.With respect to the estimation of the size-and azimuth-related parameters using the trace length,an optimization method was developed based on the pre-assumed size and azimuth distribution forms.A hypothetical case study was designed to illustrate and verify the parameter estimation method,where three combinations of the sampling windows were used to estimate the parameters,and the results showed that the estimated values could agree well with the true values.Furthermore,a hypothetical three-dimensional(3D)elliptical fracture network was constructed,and the circular disc,non-UED and UED models were used to represent it.The simulated trace information from different models was compared,and the results clearly illustrated the superiority of the proposed UED model over the existing circular disc and non-UED models。 | Jichao Guo Jun Zheng Qing Lü Jianhui Deng | 2023 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,6: | 0 |
| 14 | An efficient probabilistic design approach for tunnel face stability by inverse reliability analysis显示文摘In order to maintain the safety of underground constructions that significantly involve geo-material uncertainties,this paper delivers a new computation framework for conducting reliability-based design(RBD)of shallow tunnel face stability,utilizing a simplified inverse first-order reliability method(FORM).The limit state functions defining tunnel face stability are established for both collapse and blow-out modes of the tunnel face failure,respectively,and the deterministic results of the tunnel face support pressure are obtained through three-dimensional finite element limit analysis(FELA).Because the inverse reliability method can directly capture the design support pressure according to prescribed target reliability index,the computational cost for probabilistic design of tunnel face stability is greatly reduced.By comparison with Monte Carlo simulation results,the accuracy and feasibility of the proposed method are verified.Further,this study presents a series of reliability-based design charts for vividly understanding the limit support pressure on tunnel face in both cohesionless(sandy)soil and cohesive soil stratums,and their optimal support pressure ranges are highlighted.The results show that in the case of sandy soil stratum,the blowout failure of tunnel face is extremely unlikely,whereas the collapse is the only possible failure mode.The parametric study of various geotechnical uncertainties also reveals that ignoring the potential correlation between soil shear strength parameters will lead to over-designed support pressure,and the coefficient of variation of internal friction angle has a greater influence on the tunnel face failure probability than that of the cohesion. | Jian Ji Zheming Zhang Zhijun Wu Jiacheng Xia Yongxin Wu Qing Lüc | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5: | 2 |

| 16 | Association mapping for root system architecture traits under two nitrogen conditions in germplasm enhancement of maize doubled haploid lines显示文摘Root system architecture(RSA)contributes to nitrogen(N)uptake and utilization in maize.In this study,a germplasm enhancement of maize double haploid population of 226 lines genotyped with 61,634 SNPs was used to investigate the genetic basis of RSA under two N levels using a genome-wide association study(GWAS).GLM+PCA,FarmCPU,and MLM models were utilized to balance false positives and false negatives.In total,33 and 51 significant SNP-trait associations were detected under high and low N conditions,respectively.Under high N,SNP S9_2483543 was detected by all models.Linkage disequilibrium(LD)regions of some SNPs overlapped with the intervals of QTL for RSA and N response that were detected in previous studies.In particular,several known genes,Rtcs,Rtcl,Rtcl,and Ms44,were located in the LD regions of S1_9992325,S9_151726472,S9_154381179,and S4_197073985,respectively.Among the candidate genes identified by this study,GRMZM2G139811,GRMZM2G314898,GRMZM2G054050,GRMZM2G173682,GRMZM2G470914,GRMZM2G462325,GRMZM2G416184,and GRMZM2G064302 were involved in seedling,seed,and root system development or N metabolism in Arabidopsis or rice.The markers identified in this study can be used for marker-assisted selection of RSA traits to improve nitrogen use efficiency in maize breeding,and the candidate genes will contribute to further understanding of the genetic basis of RSA under diverse N conditions. | Langlang Ma Chunyan Qing Ursula Frei Yaou Shen Thomas Lübberstedt | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Formation of Hearth Sediment during Vanadium Titano-magnetite Smelting in Blast Furnace No.7 of Chengde Iron and Steel Company显示文摘The large quantity of sediment produced in the hearth during vanadium titano-magnetite smelting in a blast furnace(BF) affects the stability of the blast furnace operation. Testing and analysis of the sediment in the hearth of Chengde Iron and Steel Company?s BF No.7 revealed that it was mainly concentrated in the location below the tuyere and above the iron notch. Notably, some of the bonding material(sediment) consisted of greater than 50% pig iron, and the pig iron distributed in the slag was granular. It is proposed that a large quantity of Ti C and Ti(C,N) are deposited on the surface of the pig iron. These high melting point materials mix with iron drops, preventing the slag from flowing freely, thus leading to the formation of bonding materials. In addition, the viscosity and melting temperature of the slag in the tuyere areas fluctuate greatly, and thus the properties of the slag are unstable. Moreover, the slag contains large quantities of carbon, which results in the reduction of Ti O2. The resultant precipitation of Ti is followed by the formation of Ti C in the slag, which also leads to an increase in the viscosity of the slag and difficulty in achieving separation of the slag-iron.
