| 1 | Epoxy asphalt concrete paving on the deck of long-span steel bridges显示文摘It is the first systematic research in the world on the composition design of epoxy asphalt concrete as pav- ing material. Material characteristics and service perform- ance of mixture, fatigue resistance characteristics of epoxy asphalt concrete by the fatigue test of complex beam have also been described. This research indicates that epoxy as-phalt concrete is a good type of paving material. Research results have been applied successfully in the paving of steel deck of the Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge (SNYRB). | 2 | Research on nonlinear constitutive relationship of permanent deformation in asphalt pavements显示文摘To predict correctly the rut depths in asphalt pavements,a new nonlinear viscoelastic-elastoplastic constitutive model of permanent deformation in asphalt pave-ments is presented. The model combines a generalized Maxwell model with an elasto-plastic one. Then from the creep theory,the linear and nonlinear constitutive equations of the generalized Maxwell model are obtained. From the nonlinear finite element method for the rutting of the asphalt pavement,the rut depths of 4 asphalt-aggregate mixtures are obtained. And the results are compared with the ones from the finite element method by SHRP and the experiments by SWK/UN. The results in this paper are better than the ones by SHRP,and agree with the ones of the experiment by SWK/UN. This shows that the nonlinear viscoelastic-elastoplastic constitutive model,which is presented in this paper for the rutting of the asphalt pavement,is effective. The properties,such as nonlinear elastic-ity,plasticity,viscoelasticity and nonlinear viscoelasticity,which affect the rutting of an asphalt pavement,can be shown in the model. | 5 | A heuristic path-estimating algorithm for large-scale real-time traffic information calculating显示文摘As the original Global Position System (GPS) data in Floating Car Data have the accuracy problem,this paper proposes a heuristic path-estimating algorithm for large-scale real-time traffic information calculating. It uses the heuristic search method,imports the restriction with geometric operation,and makes comparison between the vectors composed of the vehicular GPS points and the special road network model to search the set of vehicular traveling route candidates. Finally,it chooses the most optimal one according to weight. | 6 | Urban expressway traffic state forecasting based on multimode maximum entropy model显示文摘The accurate and timely traffic state prediction has become increasingly important for the traffic participants,especially for the traffic managements. In this paper,the traffic state is described by Micro-LOS,and a direct prediction method is introduced. The development of the proposed method is based on Maximum Entropy (ME) models trained for multiple modes. In the Multimode Maximum Entropy (MME) framework,the different features like temporal and spatial features of traffic systems,regional traffic state are integrated simultaneously,and the different state behaviors based on 14 traffic modes defined by average speed according to the date-time division are also dealt with. | 9 | NUMERICAL INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE FRICTION REDUCTION BY MICROBUBBLES FOR FLAT PLATES显示文摘The two-dimensional flow on the flat plate with injected microbubbles is simulated using the software, PHOENICS (V3. 2), usually used in the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). A set of formulas for K-ε turbulence model modified with the presence of microbubbles, is employed. With considering the effect of gravity, interfacial lift, interphase friction, virtual mass force and interfacial pressure on the flow with microbubbles, numerical calculations for the influence of variable air volume fracton as well as distribution, injecting speed, microbubble diameter and position of introducing microbubbles on the friction reduction are presented. Results show that the friction reduction increases with increasing volume fraction and microbubble diameter within the range of 100μm, and that the velocity in the boundary layer with microbubbles is greater than that without microbubbles. The order of magnitude and trends of the experimental skin-friction are reproduced well. | 10 | A STUDY ON NONEQUILIBRIUM TRANSPORT OF NONUNIFORM BEDLOAD IN STEADY FLOW显示文摘In the case of steady flow, an equilibrium state for an alluvial reach referring tothe input of sediment over a sufficiently long time (time interval in the order of months) is equalto the output of sediment. A nonequilibrium state exists under steady flow when the sedimenttransport rate changes with time and space, so that there is no balance between input and outputof sediment. The experiments were performed in an open circuit tilting flume with the bed slope of 0.001-0. 009, the flume length of 30m and flume width of 0. 5m. The boundary condition atupstream and in all experiments, the rate of sedimant supply was zero. The coal or sand was se-lected as the Wed material. The grain diameter of the bed material varied in the range of 0.05-20. 00ram. The equation of nonequilibrium transport of nonuniform bedload is derived. Thegrain distribution of the size distribution of bedload is calculated by modified Gessler’s formula.The grain size distribution of bed material is calculated by CARICHAR mixed layer model. These equations are applied to numerical simulation of armoring of riverbeds. In this generalized panel method, NURBS are employed to represent the body geometry, disturbed free surface, and to express the unknown source strength distribution, on the body surface and above the free surface. Compared with common higher order panel methods, it has no need of adopting local coordinates. NURBS make the geometry representation of the body shape and the wave pattern more precise. Raised panels above the free surface produce less numerical dispersion error, need less CPU consumption and are helpful and combined with collocation point shifting up stream, can satisfy the radiation condition numerically. | 20 | LATTICE BGK MODEL FOR THE INCOMPRESSIBLE NAVIER-STOKES EQUATION显示文摘In this paper a Lattice Bhatager-Gross-Krook (LBGK) model to simulate incompressible flow is developed. The basic idea is to explicitly eliminate the compressible effect, due to the density fluctuation in the existing LBGK models. In the proposed incompressible LBGK model, the pressure p instead of the constant mass density ρ 0 is the independent dynamic variable. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are exactly derived from this incompressible LBGK model. In order to test the LBGK model, the plane Poiseuille flow driven either by pressure gradient or a fixed velocity profile at entrance as well as the 2-D Womersley flow are simulated.
