1Effect of Pisha sandstone on water infiltration of different soils on the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘The infiltration of water into soil is one of the most important soil physical properties that affect soil erosion and the eco-environment, especially in the Pisha sandstone area on the Chinese Loess Plateau. We studied the one-dimensional vertical infiltration of water in three experimental soils, created by mixing Pisha sandstone with sandy soil, irrigation-silted soil, and loessial soil, at mass ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, and 1:5. Our objective was to compare water infiltration in the experimental soils and to evaluate the effect of Pisha sandstone on water infiltration. We assessed the effect by measuring soil bulk density(BD), porosity, cumulative infiltration, infiltration rate and saturated hydraulic conductivity(Ks). The results showed that Pisha sandstone decreased the infiltration rate and saturated hydraulic conductivity in the three experimental soils. Cumulative infiltration over time was well described by the Philip equation. Sandy soil mixed with the Pisha sandstone at a ratio of 1:3 had the best water-holding capacity. The results provided experimental evidence for the movement of soil water and a technical support for the reconstruction and reclamation of mining soils in the Pisha sandstone area.MA Wenmei ZHANG Xingchang 2016Journal of Arid Land2016,8,3:18
2Amplification of the miR-181c/d cluster is inversely correlated with PDCD4 expression in gastric cancer显示文摘miR-181c/d is dysregulated in gastric cancer(GC).We investigated the amplification and expression of miR-181c/d and its predicted target genes in GC.Amplification of miR-181c/d was quantified by genomic real-time PCR in GC and adjacent normal tissues,as well as the levels of mature miR-181c/d was performed by real-time PCR in the same tissues.The potential target genes of miR-181c/d were predicted using bioinformatics software.Expression of one potential target gene,PDCD4,was measured by semiquantitative RT-PCR,real-time PCR,and immunohistochemistry.Next,the relationship between miR181c/d expression and PDCD4 expression was analyzed.Results indicated that the amplification and expression of miR-181c/d were significantly higher in GC than in adjacent normal tissues(primary miR-181c/d,P\0.001;miR-181c,P=0.0344;miR-181d,P=0.0153),and there was a strong correlation between mature miR-181c/d and primary miR-181c/d.Thirty-two target genes were predicted,including PDCD4 which is a known tumor suppressor gene.Expression of PDCD4 was significantly down-regulated in GC as compared to adjacent normal tissues and was inversely correlated with miR-181c/d expression in GC(miR-181c and PDCD4:R=-0.496,P=0.008;miR-181d and PDCD4:R=-0.454,P=0.003).Therefore,miR-181c/d may play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of GC by downregulating PDCD4 expression.Yuanming Pan Rui Xing Juan An Jiantao Cui Wenmei Li Mingzhou Guo Youyong Lu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,19:6
3Identification of Differentially-expressed Genes in Intestinal Gastric Cancer by Microarray Analysis显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC) is one of the most frequent malignant tumors. In order to systematically characterize the cellular and molecular mechanisms of intestinal GC development,in this study, we used 22 K oligonucleotide microarrays and bioinformatics analysis to evaluate the gene expression profiles of GC in 45 tissue samples, including 20 intestinal GC tissue samples,20 normal appearing tissues(NATs) adjacent to tumors and 5 noncancerous gastric mucosa tissue samples. These profiles allowed us to explore the transcriptional characteristics of GC and determine the change patterns in gene expression that may be of clinical significance. 1519 and 1255 differentially-expressed genes(DEGs) were identified in intestinal GC tissues and NATs, respectively,as determined by Bayesian analysis(P < 0.001). 6A pico-HPLC-LIF system for the amplification-free determination of multiple miRNAs in cells显示文摘MicroRNAs are a class of important biomarkers,and the simultaneous detection of multiple miRNAs can provide valuable information about many diseases and biological processes.Amplification-free determination has been developed for the analysis of multiple miRNAs because of its characteristic low cost and high fidelity.Herein,a method for the amplification-free analysis and simultaneous detection of multiple miRNAs based on a so-called pico-HPLC-LIF system is described.In this process,a bare open capilla ry with an inner diameter of 680 nm is used as a sepa ration column for a sample volume of several hundreds of femtoliters(300 fL),followed by separation and detection.The technique has a zeptomolar limit of detection.The method was applied to detect cellular miRNA from adenocarcinomic human alveolar basal epithelial(A549)cell extracts,and the simultaneous detection of the mir-182,miR-155,and let-7 a was achieved.The results showed that the expression of mir-182 and miR-155 was up-regulated and that of let-7 a was down-regulated in A549 cells.This method for multiple miRNAs detection is expected to have broad applications in miRNA-based disease diagnosis,prognosis,treatment,and monitoring.Wenmei Zhang Zunsheng Han Yingqi Liang Qi Zhang Xiangnan Dou Guangsheng Guo Xiayan Wang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7:2
7Cigarette smoke promotes oral leukoplakia via regulating glutamine metabolism and M2 polarization of macrophage显示文摘Oral immunosuppression caused by smoking creates a microenvironment to promote the occurrence and development of oral mucosa precancerous lesions.This study aimed to investigate the role of metabolism and macrophage polarization in cigarette-promoting oral leukoplakia.The effects of cigarette smoke extract(CSE)on macrophage polarization and metabolism were studied in vivo and in vitro.The polarity of macrophages was detected by flow cytometric analysis and q PCR.Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)was used to perform a metabolomic analysis of Raw cells stimulated with CSE.Immunofluorescence and flow cytometry were used to detect the polarity of macrophages in the condition of glutamine abundance and deficiency.Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8),wound-healing assay,and Annexin V-FITC(fluorescein isothiocyanate)/PI(propidium iodide)double-staining flow cytometry were applied to detect the growth and transferability and apoptosis of Leuk-1 cells in the supernatant of Raw cells which were stimulated with CSE,glutamine abundance and deficiency.Hyperkeratosis and dysplasia of the epithelium were evident in smoking mice.M2 macrophages increased under CSE stimulation in vivo and in vitro.In total,162 types of metabolites were detected in the CSE group.The metabolites of nicotine,glutamate,arachidic acid,and arginine changed significantly.The significant enrichment pathways were also selected,including nicotine addiction,glutamine and glutamate metabolism,and arginine biosynthesis.The results also showed that the supernatant of Raw cells stimulated by CSE could induce excessive proliferation of Leuk-1 and inhibit apoptosis.Glutamine abundance can facilitate this process.Cigarette smoke promotes oral leukoplakia via regulating glutamine metabolism and macrophage M2 polarization.Yanan Zhu Shuo Zhang Jiahui Sun Tingting Wang Qin Liu Guanxi Wu Yajie Qian Weidong Yang Yong Wang Wenmei Wang 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3:2

18A Review on the Low-Carbon City Study:Development and Trends显示文摘This paper, using literature analysis, explores the development of low-carbon pilot cities in China and its research progress, including the enrichment of the connotations of low carbon and low-carbon city, the progress in building China’s low-carbon cities, the relevant research by Chinese and foreign scholars and its trends. The result shows that for the construction of low-carbon cities in China, domestic and foreign scholars have conducted in-depth research on the connotations of low-carbon economy and low-carbon city, low-carbon index, carbon discharges peak value, technological approaches, energy utilization, low-carbon society, policy instruments and evaluating system, but the research is still subject to several limitations. For example, judging from the evaluation system of low-carbon cities, the research assigned small weights to the non-technical indexes such as low-carbon policies, governance mechanism and performance appraisal system. Judging from the spatial scale of case studies, the studies on the relatively developed cities in eastern China outnumber those on the cities in western China, especially in the minority areas.
