| 1 | U-Pb zircon geochronology, geochemistry and kinetics of the Huaniushan A-type granite in Northwest China显示文摘The Huaniushan granite is located at the Beishan orogenic belt, northwestern China. At the contact zone between the granite and marble, a hydrothermal Pb-Zn and skarn Au deposit is formed. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating yielded a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 229.5±2.6 Ma (MSDW=0.93) for the Huaniushan granite, imply-ing its Late Triassic intrusion. Geochemistry analyses show that the Huaniushan granite is enriched in Si, K, Na, and REE, and depleted in Mg and Ca, with contents of SiO2 (70.8% to 74.4%), Na2O+K2O (8.8% to 10.2%), CaO (0.93% to 1.44%), and MgO (0.14% to 0.48%). REE is characterized by obvious negative Eu anomaly. Rb, Th, U, K, Pb, Nb, Zr and Hf elements are rich in the granite while Ba, Sr, P, Ti and Eu are deplete. The granite has a high (Zr+Nb+Ce+Y) abundance and 104 Ga/Al ratios. Petrology, major and trace elements data all indicate that the Hua-niushan granite is A-type granite which intruded in a post-collisional extensional tectonic setting. The magma was dominantly sourced from partial melting of crustal intermediate-felsic igneous rocks. | 2 | Synthesis, characteristics of hierarchical EU-1 zeolite for xylene isomerization probe reaction显示文摘Introduced a method of synthesizing hierarchical EU-1 zeolite with organosilanes as additive, and studied the influences of following different kinds of organosilanes on the synthesis of hierarchical EU-1 zeolite: γ-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane(GPTMS), N-β-(aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl methyl dimethoxyl silane(APAEDMS),and N-(β-aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl dimethoxyl(ethyoxyl) silane(TMPED). The hierarchical EU-1 samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, N_2 adsorption, FT-IR and NH_3-TPD to analyze the crystallinity, morphology, surface area, pore size distribution and acidity. The results showed that hierarchical EU-1 zeolites were successfully synthesized; organosilanes have great influence on crystal morphology of EU-1 zeolites; the exterior surface area of hierarchical EU-1 zeolite, which synthesized with organosilanes(APAEDMS) adding into synthesis system, increased by 62.1% and mesopore volume increased by 129.1% compared with conventional EU-1 zeolites, thus can reduce the diffusional restriction markedly in catalytic reaction. The catalytic performance of hierarchical EU-1zeolites were evaluated in m-xylene isomerization on fixed bed reactor. The catalytic data showed that the isomerization activity PX/X of the hierarchical EU-1 zeolites reached around 24.09% in theoretical thermodynamic equilibrium from 23.83%, and the selectivity of C_8 aromatic hydrocarbon increased from 75.16% to 84.87%. | 5 | Silicon saturation coefficient changes in hydrogarnets during the Bayer process with lime addition显示文摘The relationship between the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets and Bayer reaction parameters was studied. The peak position, crystal plane spacing, and cell edge length of typical hydrogarnet patterns were calculated to find the key factors influencing the relationship. The results showed that the crystal face(420) is the optimal garnet growth direction during hydration and crystal growth along the faces(521) and(611) were not affected significantly by the varying experimental conditions. The reaction temperature significantly influenced the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets increased from 0.2 to about 1.0 in the temperature range of 30–270 °C and a rapid expansion process was observed in the temperature range of 120–150 °C. Moreover, the reaction time, alumina concentration, and C/S were shown to be less important factors. Averaging the results obtained by the 3 methods was shown suitable for calculating the SiO2 saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The calculated results of the Al2O3 and SiO2 contents matched the actual ones. | 6 | LA-ICP-MS U-Pb zircon geochronology and Hf isotope, geochemistry and kinetics of the Daxigou anorthosite from Kuruqtagh block, NW China显示文摘Kuruqtagh block is the best area for Precambrian geology in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, NW China, since it exposed complete Precambrian lithology units. The study of this ancient base will deepen the understanding of the Precambrian evolution of the Tarim Basin. In this paper, we studied the petrology, geochemistry, zircon LA-ICPMS U-Pb chronology and zircon Hf isotope of Daxigou anorthosite(DA) which is located at the northern margin of Tarim craton and discussed the rock formation, tectonic and geological significance. Zircons from the intrusions display oscillatory zoning and high Th/U ratios(0.39–1.35), implying their magmatic origin. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating results indicate that they formed during the Paleoproterozoic age with the weighted 206Pb/238 U average age of 1818±9 Ma, which is significantly different from former's Neoproterozoic age, and is coincidentally identical with its associated syenite granite age within the error range. Studies on petrogeochemistry suggest that DA belongs to medium-sodium peraluminous alkaline type, rich in Pb, La, Th and LILE, and poor in HFSE(Gd, Nd, and Ta). The chondrite-normalized REE pattern is slightly to the right form. The average ∑REE is 317.2×10-6; HREE show moderate fractionation [average LREE/HREE is 14.71, average(La/Yb)N is 24.77; average(La/Sm)N is 3.85, and average(Gd/Yb)N is 3.46]; and the δEu and δCe are not obvious. Their initial Hf isotope ratios and Hf two-stage model ages range from-6.6 to-4.43 and 2.63 to 2.74 Ga, respectively. | 8 | Efficiency of cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera Hübner) control of different Bt cotton varieties in North China显示文摘Background: The cotton bollworm(Helicoverpa armigera) is one of cotton's most destructive insect pests in terms of yield and quality. Since 1997, China has grown commercially available transgenic Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt) cotton. We aimed to investigate the variation in resistance of transgenic Bt cotton varieties to cotton bollworm in North China.Methods: Populations of cotton bollworm were monitored from 2008 to 2015 in environments where Bt cotton was planted adjacent to other non-Bt crops. The study included 197 Bt cotton varieties planted in 42 counties/locations in three provinces(Hebei, Shandong and Henan) of North China, which were evaluated through field investigations,bioassays, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA).Results: The average number of cotton bollworms never exceeded the action threshold(10 larvae per 100 cotton plants), however, their number reached 19.55 per 100 cotton plants in 2011. The ratios of damaged plants to total Bt cotton stem-tips, buds, and bolls was low except in 2010, when the ratios reached 1.82%, 2.09%, and 10.63%,respectively. The results of bioassay showed that the corrected mortality were higher at the second generation cotton bollworm stage than the third and fourth germination stages.
