| 1 | Geochronology and geochemistry of the Fangcheng Neoproterozoic alkali-syenites in East Qinling orogen and its geodynamic implications显示文摘Finding of Neoproterozoic syenites at Fangcheng in the northern Qinling region of the East Qinling orogen provides an important constraint on timing of tectonic transformation to extensional regime. The alkaline pluton consists mainly of nepheline syenite,aegirine syenite,and alkali-feldspar syenite. The syenites are of intermediate (SiO2=54%―62%),rich in alkali (K2O+Na2O=12%―15%),aluminum (Al2O3=16.81%―23.26%) and large ion lithophile elements (LILE),without any obvious Nb,Ta,Zr,and Hf anoma-lies. The Fangcheng syenites are geochemically characterized by relative enrichment of LREE,minor differentiation of HREE,significant negative Eu anomalies (Eu=0.13―0.23),less negative εNd(t) values of -1.37 to -3.90,young Nd model ages of 1364 to 1569 Ma,and high zircon saturation temperatures of 915 to 1044℃. The syenitic magmas probably originated from small proportion melting of upper mantle in an extensional regime of intraplate-anorogenic tectonic setting,and have been slightly contaminated by crustal materials during ascending and/or emplacement. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating yields ages of 844.3±1.6 Ma (MSWD=0.86),suggesting that the Fangcheng alkaline syenites formed in the early Neo-proterozoic. They are the oldest Neoproterozoic alkaline rocks ever recognized in the Qinling orogen as well as in South China. | 3 | Reductions in non-point source pollution through different management practices for an agricultural watershed in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area显示文摘Non-point source water pollution generated by agricultural production is considered a major environmental issue in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA) of China.The Annualised Agricultural Non-Point Source Pollution(AnnAGNPS) model was selected to assess the impact of the application of various management treats,including seven crops,five fertilizer levels and three-group management practice scenarios,on water quality from Heigou River Watershed in TGRA.The scenario subsets include conservation tillage practice(CTP),conservation reserve program(CRP) and conversion of cropland into forestland program(CCFP).Results indicated that tea can not be replaced by other crops because comparatively tea resulted in a higher sediment yield.CTP with no-tillage was more effective to reduce sediment yield,but could increased nutrient loss.CRP reduced sediment yield significantly,but slightly benefited on nutrient loss.CCFP reduced not only sediment yield but also the nutrient loss significantly.The conversion of cropland with a slope greater than 10 ° into forestland was found to be the best scenario as the sediment yield export is less than 5 tons/ha and nutrient loss is within the permissible limit. | Yaowu Tian Zhilin Huang Wenfa Xiao | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2: | 13 |
| 4 | Agricultural development and human diets in Gouwan site,Xichuan,Henan显示文摘This paper undertook the C and N stable isotopic analysis of human bones unearthed at the Gouwan site in Xichuan,Henan,to reveal the human diets and to explore the lifestyle of humans and the development of rice and millet agriculture.The contribution of rice to human diets was almost equal to that of millet in this site though millet agriculture is the traditional economic model for the middle Yellow River Valley.On the other hand,the comparison of C and N stable isotopes in different cultural periods clearly indicates changes in millet and rice agriculture.Humans mainly depended on agriculture and gathering in the Yangshao Culture I. | 5 | Pan-African and early Paleozoic tectonothermal events in the Nyainrong microcontinent:Constraints from geochronology and geochemistry显示文摘To better understand the Pan-African-early Paleozoic tectonothermal events of the Nyainrong microcontinent and the constraints on its tectonic evolution,here we report the results of zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating and geochemical features of Amdo gneiss in the Nyainrong microcontinent.The outcrops of Amdo gneiss is about 30 km south of Amdo County in northern Tibet.The field occurrence,mineral composition,textural characteristics,and whole-rock geochemical features of the four gneiss samples indicate the protolith of the gneisses is intermediate-acid intrusive rock.Gneiss zircon trace element tracing and genetic analysis shows that zircon has typical characteristics of magmatic zircon.The206Pb/238U concordant age of zircon is505–517 Ma,corresponding to the Middle-Late Cambrian,which is the formation age of the protolith.The samples have characteristics of high silicon,alkali-rich,alkalic rate AR=1.73–3.7,the differentiation index DI=70.78–90.28;rock aluminum saturation index ranges from 1.02 to 1.05,FeO/MgO ranges from 2.63 to 4.50,10000×Ga/Al ranges from 2.12 to 2.41,and P2O5and Al2O3content decreased with SiO2increasing.Th and Y contents have a good positive correlation with Rb content;the genetic type of protolith of the gneiss is the differentiation of subalkaline over aluminum I-type granite.Combined with regional data,the tectonic setting of the Amdo gneiss protolith is closely related to the collision orogenic process.The preliminary view is that the Middle-Late Cambrian magmatic events developed on the microcontinent could be the result of Andeantype orogeny along the Gondwana super-continental margin after the end of the Pan-African orogeny. | XIE ChaoMing LI Cai SU Li WU YanWang XIE YaoWu | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,12: | 11 |
| 6 | Transition of human diets and agricultural economy in Shenmingpu Site, Henan, from the Warring States to Han Dynasties显示文摘Historical records and archaeological remains indicate that the Chinese agricultural economy changed significantly from the Warring States (475-221 BC) to Han Dynasties (206 BC-220 AD), i.e., from rice-millet based agriculture to rice-millet-wheat based agriculture. However, the variation of human diets and the inner relationship between human diets and the agricultural transition during this period remain poorly understood. In this paper, the C and N stable isotopes from human and animal bones at the Shenmingpu site (SMPS), Xichuan County, Henan Province were analyzed. If some outliers (M34, M36, M102) were excluded, the mean 13C value (( 16.7±0.8)‰, n=15) of humans in Han Dynasties was dramatically lower than that in the Warring States (( 12.7±0.8)‰, n=14), indicating that the cultivation of rice and wheat, especially wheat, had been more widely popularized in Han Dynasties. Meanwhile, the range of 15N values of humans (6.6‰-9.3‰) in Han Dynasties was narrower than that of the Warring States (6.2‰-10.4‰), suggesting that the animal protein resources in human foods during Han Dynasties were more concentrated. | 7 | Tianshanbeilu and the Isotopic Millet Road: reviewing the late Neolithic/Bronze Age radiation of human millet consumption from north China to Europe显示文摘The westward expansion of human millet consumption from north China has important implications for understanding early interactions between the East and West.However,few studies have focused on the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,the vast geographical area directly linking the ancient cultures of the Eurasian Steppe and the Gansu Corridor of China.In this study,we present the largest isotopic investigation of Bronze Age China(n=110)on material from the key site of Tianshanbeilu,in eastern Xinjiang.The large range ofδ13C values(–17.6 to–7.2;–15.5±1.2)provides direct evidence of unique dietary diversity and consumption of significant C4 resources(millets).The highδ15N results(10.3 to 16.7;14.7±0.8)likely reflect sheep/goat and wild game consumption and the arid climate of the Taklamakan Desert.Radiocarbon dates from four individuals indicate Tianshanbeilu was in use between 1940 and1215 cal bc.The Tianshanbeilu results are then analysed with respect to 52 Bronze Age sites from across Eurasia,to investigate the spread and chronology of significant human millet consumption and human migration.This isotopic survey finds novel evidence that the second millennium bc was a dynamic period,with significant dietary interconnectivity occurring between north China,Central Asia and Siberia.Further,we argue that this‘Isotopic Millet Road’extended all the way to the Mediterranean and Central Europe,and conclude that these C4 dietary signatures of millet consumption reflect early links(migration and/or resource transfer)between the Bronze Age inhabitants of modern-day China and Europe. | Tingting Wang Dong Wei Xien Chang Zhiyong Yu Xinyu Zhang Changsui Wang Yaowu Hu Benjamin T.Fuller | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 8 |

| 9 | Stable carbon and nitrogen isotope evidence of human and pig diets at the Qinglongquan site,China显示文摘Previous studies on the Rice-Millet(foxtail millet and common millet) Blended Zone in Chinese Neolithic have not clearly addressed such questions as the importance of primitive rice-millet mixed agriculture to human lifestyle and livestock managements within this region,the relationship among the development of the agriculture,paleoenvironment,and cultural interactions,and so on.Here stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis of human and pig bones from the Qinglongquan site was conducted,covering two cultural phases,namely the Qujialing Culture(3000 BC to 2600 BC) and the Shijiahe Culture(2600 BC to 2200 BC) .Based on this analysis,we further discussed the diets of ancient humans and pigs in the site,investigated the importance of rice-millet mixed agriculture to human and pig diets,and explored the relationship among the primitive rice agriculture and millet agriculture,cultural interactions,and paleoenvironment.The δ13C values of human bone collagen(-16.7‰ to-12.4‰,averaging-14.6‰±1.3‰,n=24) revealed that both C3 and C4 foods were consumed,probably from the contribution of rice(C3 plant) and millets(C4 plants) due to the coexistence of these crops at this site.In addition,the human mean δ13C value suggested that millet agriculture was only minor in human diets.The human δ15N values(6.6‰to 10.8‰,averaging 9.0‰±1.2‰,n=24) showed that animal resources played a significant role in human diets,and varied greatly.The mean δ13C value of the pigs(-14.3‰±2.5‰,n=13) was quite similar to that of the humans,but the mean δ15N value of the pigs was slightly less(1.3‰) .The similar δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs suggested that the pigs consumed a lot of humans'food remains.No correlations of the δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs showed that both human and pig diets were based mainly on plant foods,which might be related to highly developed rice-millet mixed agriculture at that time. | 10 | Low-carbon Operation of Combined Heat and Power Integrated Plants Based on Solar-assisted Carbon Capture显示文摘Accelerating the development of renewable energy and reducing CO_(2)emissions have become a general consensus and concerted action of all countries in the world. The electric power industry, especially thermal power industry, is the main source for fossil energy consumption and CO_(2)emissions. Since solvent-based post-combustion carbon capture technology would bring massive extra energy consumption, the application of solar-assisted carbon capture technology has attracted extensive attention. Due to the important role of coal-fired combined heat and power plants for serving residential and industrial heating districts, in this paper, the low-carbon operation benefits of combined heat and power integrated plants based on solar-assisted carbon capture(CHPIP-SACC) are fully evaluated in heat and power integrated energy system with a high proportion of wind power. Based on the selected integration scheme, a linear operation model of CHPIP-SACC is developed considering energy flow characteristics and thermal coupling interaction of its internal modules. From the perspective of system-level operation optimization, the day-ahead economic dispatch problem based on a mix-integer linear programming model is presented to evaluate the low-carbon benefits of CHPIP-SACC during annual operation simulation. The numerical simulations on a modified IEEE 39-bus system demonstrate the effectiveness of CHPIP-SACC for reducing CO_(2)emissions as well as increasing the downward flexibility. | 12 | Palaeodietary study of Sanxingcun Site,Jintan,Jiangsu显示文摘C and N stable isotope ratios of 19 human bones in Sanxingcun Site, Jintan, Jiangsu Province, were measured to explore the lifestyle and social economic structure. Although the bone collagen degraded to different extents, the atomic ratio of C/N was located in the range of 2.9-3.6, indicating that they were preserved very well. Average δ13C value (20.05±0.21‰), average δ 15N value (9.69 ±0.33‰) and poor positive correlation between each other suggested that rice agriculture was dominant with hunt-ing-fishing supplemented in human lifestyle. Poor negative correlation between δ 15N values and C3 percentages of foods implied relative independence of rice agriculture and hunting-fishing. Compared to Hemudu Site and Qingpu Site, rice agriculture was developed further, but hunting-fishing decreased. | 16 | Fracture Assessment for Electron Beam Welded Damage Tolerant Ti-6Al-4V Alloy by the FITNET Procedure显示文摘Fracture assessment of the cracked structures is essential to avoiding fracture failure.A number of fracture assessment procedures have been proposed for various steel structures.However,the studies about the application of available procedures for titanium alloy structures are scarcely reported.Fracture assessment for the electron beam(EB) welded thick-walled damage tolerant Ti-6Al-4V(TC4-DT) alloy is performed by the fitness-for-service(FFS) FITNET procedure.Uniaxial tensile tests and fracture assessment tests of the base metal and weld metal are carried out to obtain the input information of assessment.The standard options and advanced options of FITNET FFS procedure are used to the fracture assessment of the present material.Moreover,the predicted maximum loads of compact tensile specimen using FITNET FFS procedure are verified with the experimental data of fracture assessment tests.As a result,it is shown that the mechanical properties of weld metal are inhomogeneous along the weld depth.The mismatch ratio M is less than 10% at the weld top and middle,whereas more than 10% at the weld bottom.Failure assessment lines of standard options are close to that of advanced option,which means that the standard options are suitable for fracture assessment of the present welds.The accurate estimation of the maximum loads has been obtained by fracture assessment of standard options with error less than 6%.Furthermore,there are no potential advantages of applying higher options or mismatch options.Thus,the present welded joints can be treated as homogeneous material during the fracture assessment,and standard option 1 can be used to achieve accurate enough results.This research provides the engineering treatment methods for the fracture assessment of titanium alloy and its EB welds. | LU Wei SHI Yaowu LI Xiaoyan LEI Yongping | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5: | 3 |

| 18 | Effects of Surface-Active Elements Sulfur on Flow Patterns of Welding Pool显示文摘A 3D mathematical model is developed to calculate the temperature and velocity distributions in a moving gas tungsten arc (GTA) welding pool with different sulfur concentrations. It has been shown that, the weld penetration increases sharply with increasing sulfur content. When sulfur content increases beyond 80×10-6, the increase in sulfur content does not have an appreciable difference on the welding pool size and shape, and the depth/width remains constant. Sulfur changes the temperature dependence of surface tension coefficient from a negative value to a positive value and causes significant changes on flow patterns. The increase in soluble sulfur content and the decrease at free surface temperature can extend the region of positive surface tension coefficient. As sulfur content exceeds 125×10-6, the sign of surface tension coefficient is positive. Depending upon the sulfur concentrations,three, one or two vortexes that have different positions, strength and directions may be found in the welding pool.The contrary vortexes can efficiently transfer the thermal energy from the arc, creating a deep welding pool. | 19 | Early Miocene flora of central Kazakhstan(Turgai Plateau) and its paleoenvironmental implications显示文摘The investigation of the fossil floras from the Turgai plateau (central Kazakhstan) contributes to a better understanding of the origin of the temperate Turgai type flora which spread to Kazakhstan and adjacent areas during the Oligocene-Miocene transition. In this paper, we present the results of a carpological and palynological study of the Kumyrtas flora collected from a flora-bearing horizon of the regional coalbearing Zhilanchik suite, dated to the Aquitanian period. Pollen analysis identified 33 taxa, with are dominated by angiosperms (about 73%) and reflect zonal vegetation. The high percentages of Betula (27%) and Pterocarya (7.5%) that were found in this flora allows comparisons with other Aquitanian floras of Kazakhstan. Based on descriptions of fossil fruits and seeds, we determined that 19 taxa were dominant;these taxa had meosphytic herbaceous components, suggesting mostly edaphic local conditions. The incongruence between the carpological and the pollen records suggests a significant taphonomical effect. Quantitative reconstruction of the palaeoclimate based on pollen records supports—and slightly extends—previous findings based on fossil leaf data, but contradicts findings deduced from the carpological record. Plant Functional Type (PFT) classification was used to characterize the vegetation patterns. Pollen records show that about 45% of diversity relates to the arboreal broadleaved deciduous components and ca. 35% to conifers.
