Numerical simulation of bistatic scattering from a target at low altitude above rough sea surface under an EM wave incidence at low grazing angle by using the finite element method显示文摘To study bistatic scattering from a target at low altitude above two- dimensional (2D) randomly rough sea surface under an electromagnetic (EM) wave incidence at low grazing angle (LGA), a numerical approach of the finite element method (FEM) is developed. The conformal perfectly matched layer (PML), as the truncation boundary of the FEM, is employed to reduce the reflection error of planar PML in conventional FEM. Numerical code of our FEM is examined by available solution of the forward backward iterative (FBM) method. Bistatic and back-scattering from composite model of a target above random rough sea surface generated by Monte Carlo realization, and functional dependence upon the sea surface wind speed, target altitude, incident and scattering angles, etc. are numerically simulated and discussed. This paper presents a numerical description of the observation principle and physical insight associated with the coupling interactions of a complex volumetric target and random rough sea surface.LIU Peng JIN Yaqiu 2004Science China(Technological Sciences)2004,47,3:27
Global inventory of Helium-3 in lunar regoliths estimated by a multi-channel microwave radiometer on the Chang-E 1 lunar satellite显示文摘Helium-3(3He) implanted by solar wind in the lunar regolith is a valuable resource because of its potential as a fusion fuel.On the basis of the Apollo regolith samples,a linear relationship between 3He abundance and solar wind flux, optical maturity and TiO2 content has been presented.China successfully launched its first lunar exploration satellite Chang-E 1(CE-1) on October 24,2007.A multi-channeled microwave radiometer was aboard the satellite with the purpose of measuring microwave thermal emission from the lunar surface layer. From the multi-channel brightness temperature(Tb) observed by CE-1,the global distribution of the regolith thickness was inverted from the multi-channel Tb,and was used to evaluate the total amount of 3He per unit area in the lunar regolith. The global inventory of 3He was estimated as being 6.6×108 kg;3.7×108 kg for the lunar nearside and 2.9×108 kg for the lunar farside.FA WenZhe JIN YaQiu 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35:9
Analysis of microwave brightness temperature of lunar surface and inversion of regolith layer thickness:Primary results of Chang-E 1 multi-channel radiometer observation显示文摘In China's first lunar exploration project, Chang-E 1 (CE-1), a multi-channel microwave radiometer was aboard the satellite, with the purpose of measuring microwave brightness temperature from lunar surface and surveying the global distribution of lunar regolith layer thickness. In this paper, the primary 621 tracks of swath data measured by Chang-E 1 microwave radiometer from November 2007 to February 2008 are collected and analyzed. Using nearest neighbor interpolation based on the sun incidence angle in observations, global distributions of microwave brightness temperature from lunar surface at lunar daytime and nighttime are constructed. Using the three-layer model (the top dust-soil, regolith and underlying rock media) for microwave thermal emission of lunar surface, the measurements of brightness temperature and dependence upon latitude, frequency and FeO+TiO2 content, etc. are discussed. On the basis of the ground measurements at Apollo landing sites, the observed brightness temperature at these locations are validated and calibrated by numerical three-layer modeling. Using the empirical dependence of physical temperature upon the latitude verified by the measurements at Apollo landing sites, the global distribution of regolith layer thickness is then inverted from the brightness temperature data of CE-1 at 3 GHz channel. Those inversions at Apollo landing sites are com- pared with the Apollo in situ measurements. Finally, the statistical property of regolith thickness distribution is analyzed and discussed.FA WenZhe & JIN YaQiu Key Laboratory of Wave Scattering and Remote Sensing Information (MoE), Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,1:8
Lithofacies distribution characteristics and its controlling factors of shale in Wufeng Formation-Member 1 of Longmaxi Formation in the Jiaoshiba area显示文摘It is essential to investigate shale lithofacies distribution and controlling factor of the shale for geological evaluation of shale gas exploration and development.Through comprehensive analysis of cores, thin sections, cathode luminescence,whole-rock X-ray diffraction, element capture spectroscopy,major/trace element and other data, three major types and eight sub-type shale lithofacies in the shale of Wufeng Formation-Member 1 of Longmaxi Formation in Jiaoshiba area are identified by the three-end-member method and shale lithological classification nomenclature, and the spatiotemporal distribution law and main development controlling factors of shale lithofacies are well studied. In the Jiaoshiba area, vertically, the marine shale develops siliceous shale, mixed shale and argillaceous shale from bottom to top.Besides, lateral distribution of the shale is different from north to south;the shale lithofacies in the north area changes rapidly, the mixed shale in the north area is much thicker than that in the south area, while the siliceous shale in the south area is relatively thicker.Difference in the shale lithofacies is controlled by special sedimentary geologic events;development of the siliceous shale is controlled by the Ordovician-Silurian global volcanic event to some extent, while the mixed shale is significantly influenced by effect of bottom current, and the argillaceous shale is mainly affected by supply of terrestrial clastic material.Chao Wang Baiqiao Zhang Yongchao Lu Zhiguo Shu Yaqiu Lu Hanyong Bao Zhiyong Meng Lei Chen 2018Petroleum Research2018,3,4:4
Numerical simulation of the EM scattering and Doppler spectrum of a low flying target above dynamic oceanic surface by using the FEMDDM method显示文摘To study the Doppler (DP) spectrum of a flying target above the dynamic oceanic surface, a two-level quasi-stationary algorithm (TLQSA) of the finite element method (FEM) with domain decomposition (DDM) is developed. The DP spectrum of a fast-moving target requires a small time-sampling rate. At most time steps, scattering from the flying target is solved by the FEM solution in only one sub-domain; meanwhile the interactions between the target and rough sea surface in other sub-domains are obtained by solving the global DDM coupling matrices. The slowly moving sea surface is evolved at a larger time step and the DP of oceanic clutter is obtained through all-subdomain FEM calculation. Numerical simulations of the DP spectrum from a target flying above the dynamic oceanic surface with and without a ship presence are obtained. The functional dependence of the DP spectrum in both the time and frequency domains upon the sea surface wind speed, target altitude, observation angle etc. are demon- strated and discussed.LIU Peng JIN Yaqiu 2004Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2004,47,5:3
Back-scattering from rough sea surface with foams显示文摘By using iterative method to solve the vector radiative transfer equation of discrete scatterers with randomly rough under-boundary, the back-scattering coefficient is derived, and is applied to the two-scale model of sea surface with foam scatterers driven by strong wind. By employing the modified probability density function of Cox and Munk’s, and Pierson’s sea spectrum, numerical results of polarized back-scatter ing are calculated. The functional dependence on wind speed and direction, observation angle, polarization and other parameters are discussed, and theoretical results are favorably matched with experimental data.Jin Yaqiu, Huang Xingzhong and Yin Jieyi Department of Electronic Engineering, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China Department of Electronic Science, China East Normal University, Shanghai 200062, China 1993Acta Oceanologica Sinica1993,12,4:3
Marginalized particle filter for spacecraft attitude estimation from vector measurements显示文摘An algorithm based on the marginalized particle filters(MPF)is given in details in this paper to solve the spacecraft attitude estimation problem:attitude and gyro bias estimation using the biased gyro and vector observations. In this algorithm,by marginalizing out the state appearing linearly in the spacecraft model, the Kalman filter is associated with each particle in order to reduce the size of the state space and computational burden. The distribution of attitude vector is approximated by a set of particles and estimated using particle filter, while the estimation of gyro bias is obtained for each one of the attitude particles by applying the Kalman filter. The efficiency of this modified MPF estimator is verified through numerical simulation of a fully actuated rigid body. For comparison, unscented Kalman filter(UKF)is also used to gauge the performance of MPF.The results presented in this paper clearly demonstrate that the MPF is superior to UKF in coping with the nonlinear model.Yaqiu LIU Xueyuan JIANG Guangfu MA 2007控制理论与应用(英文版)2007,5,1:3
The modeling analysis of microwave emission from stratified media of non-uniform lunar cratered terrain surface for Chinese Chang-E1 observation显示文摘In China's first lunar exploration project,Chang-E 1,the multi-channel (3.0,7.8,19.35,37 GHz) microwave radiometers were aboard the satellite, with the purpose of measuring microwave brightness temperature from lunar surface and surveying the global distribution of lunar regolith layer thickness, and global evaluation of 3He content. To analyze the modeling of microwave radiative transfer from three-layered media of lunar surface, some factors, such as the cratered lunar surface roughness, scattering of regolith particulate medium with temperature profile, are discussed.Based on the statistics of the lunar cratered terrain and using Monte Carlo (MC) method, the cratered lunar surfaces are numerically generated. The triangulated network is utilized to divide the undulated lunar surface into discrete triangle meshes with the size 10 m as a digital surface topography. The reflectivities of each plane mesh are calculated, and the average reflectivity for all MC-realized lunar surfaces is obtained. It is found that under the spatial resolution of 30 km×30 km of Chang-E 1 radiometer observation, the lunar surface can be well modeled as a flat surface. It makes the predominance of the parameters, such as the regolith layer thickness and stratified structures,to be studied.Using the radiative transfer equation of stratified media with dense scatterers, the scattering coefficient of the regolith particulate medium is found negligible, and the emission is mainly governed by the absorptive property of the medium.Brightness temperature of multi-layered media,i.e.lunar soil, regolith layer with temperature profile and underlying rock media, are derived and calculated, and relevant main factors to affect the modeling and emission simulation are analyzed.JIN YaQiu FA WenZhe 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,11:3
SAR imaging simulation for an inhomogeneous undulated lunar surface based on triangulated irregular network显示文摘Based on the statistics of the lunar cratered terrain,e.g.,population,dimension and shape of craters, the terrain feature of cratered lunar surface is numerically generated. According to the inhomogeneous distribution of the lunar surface slope, the triangulated irregular network (TIN) is employed to make the digital elevation of lunar surface model. The Kirchhoff approximation of surface scattering is then applied to simulation of lunar surface scattering. The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image for comprehensive cratered lunar surface is numerically generated using back projection (BP) algorithm of SAR imaging. Making use of the digital elevation and Clementine UVVIS data at Apollo 15 landing site as the ground truth,an SAR image at Apollo 15 landing site is simulated. The image simulation is verified using real SAR image and echoes statistics.FA WenZhe XU Feng JIN YaQiu 2009Science in China(Series F)2009,52,4:3
Monitoring the sandstorm during spring season 2002 and desertification in northern China using SSM/I data and Getis statistics显示文摘A massive sandstorm enveloped most part of northern China during the spring season 2002. Monitoring the evolution of sandstorm and desertification has become one of the most serious problems for China's environment. Since 1989, one of the most advanced and operational passive microwave sensors is the DMSP SSM/I (special sensor microwave imager) operated at seven channels (19, 37, 85 GHz with the vertical and horizontal polarization and 22 GHz with vertical polarization only). In this paper, the sandstorm and desertification indexes, SDI and DI, are derived from the radiative transfer equation, and are employed with multi-channel measurements of the DMSP SSM/I for monitoring the sandstorm and desertification in northern China. Some SSM/I data in 1997 and 2001 are employed. The algorithm of Getis statistics is developed to categorize the spatial correlation and its evolution these days. It is demonstrated that the SSM/I indexes, SDI and DI, and its Getis statistics are well applicable for monitoring the sandstorm and desertification.JIN Yaqiu and YAN Fenghua(Center for Wave Scattering and Remote Sensing, School of Information Science & Engineering, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China) 2003Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2003,13,5:2
Multi-DAGs Scheduling Integrating with Security and Availability in Cloud Environment显示文摘In view of the issue concerns multiple Directed acyclic graphs(DAGs) scheduling in multi-tenant cloud computing environment, a scheduling strategy that integrate security and availability is proposed to satisfy the tenants' requirements for resource security and availability, as thus it can not only protect the users' privacy and data security but also advance the success rate. The proposal assesses resource reputation to ensure jobs can be scheduled onto relatively security nodes; during task scheduling, it classifies the DAGs to achieve fairness; in the process of resources allocation, the objective function would maximize the user's security satisfaction and minimize the deviation of availability; meanwhile, it takes advantage of 'time chips' flexibly to promote resource utilization rate; afterwards, we present a Greedy algorithm integrating with security and availability(GISA) to implement the strategy. The experimental results show the correctness and superior of the novel strategy.LIU Yaqiu SHAO Hongrun JING Weipeng QIU Zhaowen 2015Chinese Journal of Electronics2015,24,4:2

Scattering simulation and reconstruction of a 3D complex target above an underlying surface using SIMO radar with plane array显示文摘A SIMO(single input and multiple output) system of a step-frequency(SF) radar is used.It works in downward-looking spotlight mode and moves within a 2D synthetic plane array.A 3D(three-dimensional) matrix of bistatic scattering fields is produced in both the amplitude and phase from a 3D complex-shaped electric-large target above background surface. In numerical simulation, the bidirectional analytic ray tracing(BART) method is applied to calculate bistatic scattering in the SIMO observations from a volumetric target above background rough surface. An improved 3D RMA(range migration algorithm) is then utilized to make the imaging. Its 3D imaging is applied to reconstruct the target profile. As validation and comparison, the scattering fields of some simple targets are computed with comparisons of the BART and FEKO software. The SIMO techniques of imaging and reconstruction for a 3D target, such as a tank-like model over rough surface, are presented.LI Wei JIN YaQiu 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,10:2
An inverse method for underwater bottom topographyby using SAR imagery显示文摘Interaction between current and underwater bottom topography leads to roughness of the sea surface, which in turn yields variation of the radar scattering echo. By using the continuity equation and weak hydrodynamic interaction theory in the relaxation time approximation, the spatial variation of the radar scattering cross-section has been proved as proportional to the gradient of current velocity. The current direction is first determined by using two-dimensional (2-D) correlation of spatial variation of backscattering measured by the SAR imagery, as the priori knowledge of the current direction is not available. The inverse algorithm to successively derive 2 - D underwater bottom topography from the SAR imagery is developed. As an application, the SAR SIR- C image over the sea area of Hong Kong, China is studied.Jin Yaqiu, Zhang Wei (Center for Wave Scattering and Remote Sensing,Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China) 2000Acta Oceanologica Sinica2000,19,4:2
Simulation of radar sounder echo from lunar surface and subsurface structure显示文摘Space-borne high frequency (HF) radar sounder is an effective tool for investigation of lunar subsurface structure in lunar exploration. The primary strategy of radar sounder technology for subsurface structure detection is utilization of the nadir echoes time delay and intensity difference from the lunar surface and subsurface. It is important to fully understand electromagnetic wave propagation, scattering, and attenuation through the lunar media in order to retrieve information of lunar layering structure from weak nadir echoes of the subsurface, which is simultaneously interfered by strong off-nadir surface clutters. Based on the Kirchhoff approximation (KA) of rough surface scattering and the ray tracing of geometric optics, a numerical simulation of radar echoes from lunar layering structures is developed. According to the lunar surface feature, the topography of mare and highland surfaces is numerically generated, and the triangulated network is employed to make digital elevations of the whole lunar surface. Scattering from the lunar surface and subsurface is numerically calculated using KA approach. Radar echoes and its range images are numerically simulated, and their dependence on the parameters of lunar layering interfaces is discussed. The approach of this paper can also be utilized to investigate subsurface structures in Mars and other planetary exploration.WenZhe Fa YaQiu Jin 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,7:2
