2Characteristics of change in water quality along reclaimed water intake area of the Chaobai River in Beijing, China显示文摘To reveal the basic characteristics and controlling factors of water quality change in the project Wenyu to Chaobai reclaimed water diversion, the water quality in the study area was monitored for one year at seven monitoring sites. Inverse geochemical models of the statistical groups were developed using PHREEQC to elucidate the hydrochemistry characteristics of reclaimed water and the factors. The monitoring results indicated that nitrogen and phosphorus contents were significantly reduced along the river mainly caused by seasonal and location variation. The pH ranged from 7.44 to 9.81. Photosynthesis of algae and denitrification in anaerobic microenvironment ultimately led to a sudden p H increase after the Jian River and the Chaobai River confluence. Mg^(2+)and SO_4^(2-) levels dropped obviously in the summer and increased in winter seasons after intersection. Na+and Cl-are relatively stable, and marked drop in the concentration only after the two rivers meet. And there is a decrease of Ca^(2+) and HCO^(3-) and increase in CO_3^(2-) during monitoring period. As a whole, the primary ions and nutrient components, including nitrogen and phosphorus, had high levels in winter. Algae's photosynthesis and respiration were observed to have an impact on the river water quality; there was precipitation–dissolution of minerals and denitrification from upstream to downstream. 3Optimized clinical practice for superaged patients with hip fracture:significance of damage control and enhanced recovery program显示文摘With the advent of global aging,the incidence,mortality,and medical costs of hip fracture among aged patients are increasing annually.The number of controlled clinical studies and health economics analyses that conform to evidence-based medicine principles is growing day by day.However,unfortunately,no specific recommendations regarding the procedures for the treatment of hip fracture are available.Meanwhile,the existence of both traditional treatment systems and new treatment theories means that most doctors confront difficult choices in their daily practice.These factors make the therapeutic approach for aged patients,especially among superaged patients with hip fracture,extremely challenging.This study focuses on superaged patients(>80 years as defined by the World Health Organization)with hip fracture and includes their preoperative pathological condition;therapeutic decision-making in terms of the benefit and risk ratio,damage control theory,and enhanced recovery after surgery were also investigated.These patients were discussed specifically by combining the current treatment strategies from several experts and the results of a meta-analysis published recently.The study presents some new ideas and approaches currently recognized in the field,such as preoperative assessment,surgical planning,safety consideration,complication intervention,and enhanced recovery implementation,and further presents some clear interpretations regarding misunderstandings in clinical practice.Finally,optimized treatment according to damage control principles and enhanced recovery after surgery during the perioperative period among superaged hip fracture patients is defined.Zaiyang Liu Jun Zhang Kaiqi He Yumei Zhang Yuan Zhang 2019Burns & Trauma2019,7,1:9

5Nanoporous titanium implant surface promotes osteogenesis by suppressing osteoclastogenesis via integrin β1/FAKpY397/MAPK pathway显示文摘Macrophages and osteoclasts are both derived from monocyte/macrophage lineage,which plays as the osteoclastic part of bone metabolism.Although they are regulated by bone implant surface nanoarchitecture and involved in osseointegration,the beneath mechanism has not been simultaneously analyzed in a given surface model and their communication with osteoblasts is also blurring.Here,the effect of implant surface topography on monocyte/macrophage lineage osteoclastogenesis and the subsequent effect on osteogenesis are systematically investigated.The nanoporous surface is fabricated on titanium implant by etching and anodizing to get the nanotubes structure.The early bone formation around implant is significantly accelerated by the nanoporous surface in vivo.Meanwhile,the macrophage recruitment and osteoclast formation are increased and decreased respectively.Mechanistically,the integrin mediated FAK phosphorylation and its downstream MAPK pathway(p-p38)are significantly downregulated by the nanoporous surface,which account for the inhibition of osteoclastogenesis.In addition,the nanoporous surface can alleviate the inhibition of osteoclasts on osteogenesis by changing the secretion of clastokines,and accelerate bone regeneration by macrophage cytokine profiles.In conclusion,these data indicate that physical topography of implant surface is a critical factor modulating monocyte/macrophage lineage commitment,which provides theoretical guidance and mechanism basis for promoting osseointegration by coupling the osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis.Yide He Zhe Li Xin Ding Boya Xu Jinjin Wang Yi Li Fanghao Chen Fanhui Meng Wen Song Yumei Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:4

7Pathogenesis and multidisciplinary management of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw显示文摘Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw(MRONJ)is a serious side effect of bone-modifying agents and inhibits angiogenesis agents.Although the pathogenesis of MRONJ is not entirely clear,multiple factors may be involved in specific microenvironments.The TGF-β1 signalling pathway may have a key role in the development of MRONJ.According to the clinical stage,multiple variables should be considered when selecting the most appropriate treatment.Therefore,the prevention and management of treatment of MRONJ should be conducted in patient-centred multidisciplinary team collaborative networks with oncologists,dentists and dental specialists.This would comprise a closed responsibility treatment loop with all benefits directed to the patient.Thus,in the present review,we aimed to summarise the pathogenesis,risk factors,imaging features,clinical staging,therapeutic methods,prevention and treatment strategies associated with MRONJ,which may provide a reference that can inform preventive strategies and improve the quality of life for patients in the future.Lina He Xiangyu Sun Zhijie Liu Yanfen Qiu Yumei Niu 2020International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,3:4
8Interference of CsGPA1,theα-submit of G protein,reduces drought tolerance in cucumber seedlings显示文摘The G proteinα-subunit,GPA1,is an integral component of several signaling pathways in plants,including response to abiotic stress.However,the molecular mechanism behind these processes remains largely unknown in the cucumber plant(Cucumis sativus L.).In order to further understand the role of CsGPA1 in cucumber under drought stress,changes in plant growth,physiological parameters,and gene expression of CsAQPs were all measured under water stress induced by polyethylene glycol(PEG)using wild type(WT)and CsGPA1-interference(RNAi)cucumber seedlings.Our results demonstrated that the RNAi plants had lower drought tolerance,displaying seriously withered leaves,lower relative growth rate,lower root-shoot ratio,and lower root activity under drought stress compared to WT plants.Physiological studies indicated that the suppression of CsGPA1 weakened drought stress tolerance due to higherwater loss rate in the leaves,higher levels of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2),increased malondialdehyde(MDA)content,lower free proline content,lower soluble sugar content,lower soluble protein content,and decreased antioxidant enzyme activities.qRT-PCR analysis demonstrated that the interference of CsGPA1 up-regulated the expression of most AQP genes(except for CsPIP2;3 in leaves)and down-regulated the expression of CsPIP1;2,CsPIP1;4,CsPIP2;1,and CsPIP2;4 in roots under drought stress when compared to WT plants.Our results demonstrated that CsGPA1 could function as a positive regulator in drought stress response by decreasing the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS),improving permeable potentials,and reducing water loss in cucumber plants.Yumei Liu Qinghua Du Longqiang Bai Mintao Sun Yansu Li Chaoxing He Jun Wang Xianchang Yu Yan Yan 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,3:3

14A new approach for inversion of receiver function for crustal structure in the depth domain显示文摘A method for reconstructing crustal velocity structure using the optimization of stacking receiver function amplitude in the depth domain,named common conversion amplitude(CCA)inversion,is presented.The conversion amplitude in the depth domain,which represents the impedance change in the medium,is obtained by assigning the receiver function amplitude to the corresponding conversion position where the P-to-S conversion occurred.Utilizing the conversion amplitude variation with depth as an optimization objective,imposing reliable prior constraints on the structural model frame and velocity range,and adopting a stepwise search inversion technique,this method efficiently weakens the tendency of easily falling into the local extremum in conventional receiver function inversion.Synthetic tests show that the CCA inversion can reconstruct complex crustal velocity structures well and is especially suitable for revealing crustal evolution by estimating diverse velocity distributions.Its performance in reconstructing crustal structure is superior to that of the conventional receiver function imaging method.TianYu Zheng YuMei He Yue Zhu 2022Earth and Planetary Physics2022,6,1:1

19A genome wide association study between copy number variation (CNV) and human height in Chinese population显示文摘Copy number variation (CNV) is a type of genetic variation which may have important roles in phenotypic variability and disease susceptibility. To hunt for genetic variants underlying human height variation, we performed a genome wide CNV association study for human height in 618 Chinese unrelated subjects using Affymetrix 500K array set. After adjusting for age and sex, we found that four CNVs at 6p21.3, 8p23.3-23.2, 9p23 and 16p12.1 were associated with human height (with borderline significant p value: 0.013, 0.011, 0.024, 0.049; respectively). However, after multiple tests correction, none of them was associated with human height. We observed that the gain of copy number (more than 2 copies) at 8p23.3-23.2 was associated with lower height (normal copy number vs. gain of copy number: 161.2 cm vs. 153.7 cm, p = 0.011), which accounted for 0.9% of height variation. Loss of copy number (less than 2 copies) at 6p21.3 was associated with 0.8% lower height (loss of copy number vs. normal copy number: 154.5 cm vs. 161.1 cm, p = 0.013). Since no important genes influencing height located in CNVs at loci of 8p23.3-23.2 and 6p21.3, the two CNVs may cause the structural rear- rangements of neighbored important candidate genes, thus regulates the variation of height.
