Carbon isotope composition of the Lower Triassic marine carbonates, Lower Yangtze Region, South China显示文摘Studies on three Lower Triassic sections located on the shallow water platform, the deep water slope and in the deep water basin in the Lower Yangtze Region, South China, show the similar trend of carbon isotope evolution. Biostratigraphic correlations among the Lower Triassic sections on the basis of standard conodont zones indicate that three negative shifts occurred in the Griesbachian, the Smithian and the late Spathian stages respectively, and one distinctly positive shift occurred in the early Spathian stage. Trend of carbon isotope evolution of the Lower Triassic reflects some significant changes in the global carbon cycle. Moreover, δ 13C background values are intensively controlled by palaeogeographic environment. In general, δ 13C values from deep-water slope carbonates are lighter than those from carbonate platform and heavier than those from deep-water basin carbonates. The positive carbon isotope excursion may be induced by a significant amount of organic carbon burial in marine sediments and increase in primary productivity. The large negative carbon isotope excursions during the Early Triassic in Lower Yangtze Region are interpreted to relate to volcano eruptions based on tuffaceous claystone interlayers observed near the Permian-Triassic boundary, the Induan- Olenekian boundary and the Lower Triassic-Middle Triassic boundary.ZUO Jingxun1,2, TONG Jinnan3, QIU Haiou4 & ZHAO Laishi3 1. 3The global image of the Moon obtained by the Chang'E-1:Data processing and lunar cartography显示文摘The global lunar image of the first phase of Chinese Lunar Exploration Program is the first image that covered all over the surface of the Moon. It will serve as a critical foundation for succeeding exploration and scientific research. In this paper, the acquisition, characteristics, and data quality of Chang'E-1 CCD image data are described in detail. Also described are the methodology and procedure of data processing. According to rule of planetary cartography, the image data have been processed, geometrically corrected, and then mosaicked and merged in a scale of 1:2.5 million. The results of data processing and charting show that the image data of Chang'E-1 CCD and their geometric precision meet the demand of charting a map in the scale of 1:2.5 million. The relative geometric positioning precision of the global image is better than 240 m, and the absolute geometric positioning precision is slightly better than that of the ULCN2005 and Clementine lunar basemap (V2.0). The plane positioning precision is approximately 100-1500 m. This global image proves to be the best global image of the Moon so far in terms of space coverage, image quality, and positioning precision.LI ChunLai1, LIU JianJun1, REN Xin1, MOU LingLi1, ZOU YongLiao1, ZHANG HongBo1, Lü Chang1, LIU JianZhong1, ZUO Wei1, SU Yan1, WEN WeiBin1, BIAN Wei1, ZHAO BaoChang2, YANG JianFeng2, ZOU XiaoDuan1, WANG Min1, XU Chun1, KONG DeQing1, WANG XiaoQian1, WANG Fang1, GENG Liang1, ZHANG ZhouBin1, ZHENG Lei1, ZHU XinYing1, LI JunDuo1 & OUYANG ZiYuan11 National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China 2 Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an 710119, China 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,8:22
Laser altimetry data of Chang'E-1 and the global lunar DEM model显示文摘The Laser AltiMeter (LAM), as one of the main payloads of Chang'E-1 probe, is used to measure the topography of the lunar surface. It performed the first measurement at 02:22 on November 28th, 2007. Up to December 4th 2008, the total number of measurements was approximately 9.12 million, covering the whole surface of the Moon. Using the LAM data, we constructed a global lunar Digtal Elevation Model (DEM) with 3 km spatial resolution. The model shows pronounced morphological characteristics, legible and vivid details of the lunar surface. The plane positioning accuracy of the DEM is 445 m (1σ), and the vertical accuracy is 60 m (1σ). From this DEM model, we measured the full range of the altitude difference on the lunar sur-face, which is about 19.807 km. The highest point is 10.629 km high, on a peak between crater Korolev and crater Dirichlet-Jackson at (158.656°W, 5.441°N) and the lowest point is -9.178 km in height, inside crater Antoniadi (172.413°W, 70.368°S) in the South Pole-Aitken Basin. By comparison, the DEM model of Chang'E-1 is better than the USA ULCN2005 in accuracy and resolution and is probably identical to the DEM of Japan SELENE, but the DEM of Chang'E-1 reveals a new lowest point, clearly lower than that of SELENE.LI ChunLai1, REN Xin1, LIU JianJun1, ZOU XiaoDuan1, MU LingLi1, WANG JianYu2, SHU Rong2, ZOU YongLiao1, ZHANG HongBo1, Lü Chang1, LIU JianZhong1, ZUO Wei1, SU Yan1, WEN WeiBin1, BIAN Wei1, WANG Min1, XU Chun1, KONG DeQing1, WANG XiaoQian1, WANG Fang1, GENG Liang1, ZHANG ZhouBin1, ZHENG Lei1, ZHU XinYing1, LI JunDuo1 & OUYANG ZiYuan1 1 National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China 2 Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 200083, China 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,11:19

Effect of Apolipoprotein A-I on ATP Binding Cassette Transporter A1 Degradation and Cholesterol Efflux in THP-1 Macrophage-derived Foam Cells显示文摘Cholesterol-loaded macrophage foam cells are a central componentof atherosclerotic lesions. ATP binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1), the defective molecule inTangier disease, mediates the efflux of phospholipid and cholesterolfrom cells to apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I), reversing foam cell formation. This study investigated the effect of apoA-I on ABCA1 degradation and cholesterol efflux in THP-1 macrophage- derived foam cells. After exposure of the cultured THP-1 macrophage-derived foam cells to apoA-I for different time, cholesterol efflux, ABCA1 mRNA and protein levels were determined by FJ-2107P type liquid scintillator, RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. The mean ABCA1 fluorescence intensity on THP-1 macrophage-derived foam cells was detected by flow cytometry. Results showed that apoA-I markedly increased ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux from THP-1 macrophage-derived foam cells. This was accompanied by an increase in the content of ABCA1. ApoA-I did not alter ABCA1 mRNA abundance. Significantly, thiol protease inhibitors increased the level of ABCA1 protein and slowed its decay in THP-1 macrophage-derived foam cells, whereas none of the proteosome-specific inhibitor lactacystin, other protease inhibitors, or the lysosomal inhibitor NH4Cl showed such effects. The apoA-I-mediated cellular cholesterol efflux was enhanced by thiol protease inhibitors. Our results suggested that thiol protease inhibitors mightprovide an alternative way to upregulate ABCA1 protein. Thisstrategy is especially appealing since it may mimic the stabilizingeffect of the natural ligands apoA-I.Chao-Ke TANG1,2, Guo-Hua TANG1, Guang-Hui YI1, Zuo WANG1, Lu-Shan LIU1, Shuang WAN1, Zhong-Hua YUAN1, Xiu-Sheng HE1, Jun-Hao YANG1, Chang-Geng RUAN1, and Yong-Zong YANG1* 1Institute of Cardiovascular Disease of Nanhua University, Hengyang 421001, China 2Xiangya Medical School, Central Southern University, Changsha 410078, China 2004Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2004,36,3:15
Expression of lipopolysaccharide binding protein and its receptor CD14 in experimental alcoholic liver disease显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the relationship between the expression of lipopolyaaccharides (LPS) binding protein (LBP) and CD14mRNA and the severity of liver injury in alcohol-fed rats.METHODS: Twenty Wietar rats were divided into two groups: ethanol-fed group (group E) and control group (group C). Group E was fed with ethanol( 5-12g. Kg- 1. D-1)and group C received dextrose instead of ethanol. Rats of the two groups were sacrificed at 4 weeks and 8 weeks.Levels of endotoxin and alanine transeminase (ALT) inblood were measured, and liver pathology was observed under light and electronic microscopy. Expressions of LBP and CD14 mRNA in liver tissues were determined by RT-PCR analysis.RESULTS: Plasma endotoxin levels were increased more significantly in group E( 129 ± 21) ng. L- 1 and ( 187 ± 35) ng.L- 1 at 4 and 8 wk than in control rats(48 ± 9) ng. L- 1 and (53±11) ng.L-1, respectively (P< 0.05). Mean values of plasma ALT levels were (1867 ± 250) nkat. L-1 and (2450 ±367) nkat. L- 1 in Group E. The values were increased more dramatically in ethanol-fed rats than in Group C after 4 and 8weeks. In liver section from ethanol-fed rats, there were marked pathological changes (steatosis, cell infiltration and necrosis). In ethanol-fed rats, ethanol administration led to a significant increase in LBP and CD14 mRNA levels compared with the control group ( P< 0.05).CONCLUSION: Ethanol administration led to a significant increase in endotoxin levels in serum and LBP and CD14mRNA expressions in liver tissues. The increase of LBP and CD14 mRNA expression might wake the liver more sensitive to endotoxin and liver injury.Guo-Qing Zuo~1 Jian-Ping Gong~2 Chang-An Liu~2 Shen-Wei Li~2 Xin-Chuan Wu~2 Kang Yang~2 Yue Li~2 1 Department of Digestive Disease2 Department of General Surgery,Second College of Clinical Medicine &the Second Affiliated Hospital,Chongqing University of Medical Sciences,Chongqing 400010,China 2001World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,6:14

Primary scientific results of Chang'E-1 lunar mission显示文摘The strategic plan for the development of the unmanned Chinese Lunar Exploration Program is characterized by three distinct stages: 'orbiting around', 'landing on' and 'returning from' the Moon. The first Chinese lunar probe, Chang'E-1, which was successfully launched on October 24th, 2007 at Xichang Satellite Launch Center, and guided to crash on the Moon on March 1st, 2009, at 52.36°E, 1.50°S, in the north of Mare Fecunditatis, is the first step towards the 'orbiting around' stage. The Chang'E-1 mission lasted 495 days, exceeding the expected life-span by about four months. A total of 1.37 TB raw data was received from Chang'E-1. It was then processed into 4 TB scientific data products at various levels. Many scientific results have been obtained by analyzing these data, including especially the 'global lunar image from the first Chinese lunar explora- tion mission'. All scientific goals of Chang'E-1 have been achieved. It provides much useful materials for further advances of lunar sciences and planetary chemistry. Meanwhile, these results will serve as a firm basis for future Chinese lunar missions.OUYANG ZiYuan1,2, LI ChunLai1, ZOU YongLiao1, ZHANG HongBo1, Lü Chang1, LIU JianZhong1, LIU JianJun1, ZUO Wei1, SU Yan1, WEN WeiBin1, BIAN Wei1, ZHAO BaoChang3, WANG JianYu4, YANG JianFeng3, CHANG Jin5, WANG HuanYu6, ZHANG XiaoHui7, WANG ShiJin7, WANG Min1, REN Xin1, MU LingLi1, KONG DeQing1, WANG XiaoQian1, WANG Fang1, GENG Liang1, ZHANG ZhouBin1, ZHENG Lei1, ZHU XinYing1, ZHENG YongChun1, LI JunDuo1, ZOU XiaoDuan1, XU Chun1, SHI ShuoBiao1, GAO YiFei1 & GAO GuanNan1 1 National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China 2 Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guiyang 550002, China 3 Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an 710119, China 4 Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 200083, China 5 Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing 210008, China 6 Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 7 Center for Space Science and Applied Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100190, China 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,11:11
Thermal-mechanical coupled effect on fracture mechanism and plastic characteristics of sandstone显示文摘Scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) was employed to investigate fractographs of sandstone in mine roof strata under thermal-mechanical coupled effect. Based on the evolution of sandstone surface morphology in the failure process and frac- tography, the fracture mechanism was studied and classified under meso and mi- cro scales, respectively. The differences between fractographs under different tem- peratures were examined in detail. Under high temperature, fatigue fracture and plastic deformation occurred in the fracture surface. Therefore, the temperature was manifested by these phenomena to influence strongly on micro failure mechanism of sandstone. In addition, the failure mechanism would transit from brittle failure mechanism at low temperature to coupled brittle-ductile failure mechanism at high temperature. The variation of sandstone strength under differ- ent temperature can be attributed to the occurrence of plastic deformation, fatigue fracture, and microcracking. The fatigue striations in the fracture surfaces under high temperature may be interpreted as micro fold. And the coupled effect of tem- perature and tensile stress may be another formation mechanism of micro fold in geology.ZUO JianPing1,2, XIE HePing2,3, ZHOU HongWei1,2 PENG SuPing1 1 State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing 100083, China 2 Institute of Rock Mechanics and Fractals, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing 100083, China 3 Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, China 2007Science China(Technological Sciences)2007,50,6:11

Simpler criterion and flexibility of operation complexity for perfectly teleporting arbitrary n-qubit state with 2n-qubit pure state显示文摘A criterion for whether a pure-state quantum channel consisting of 2n qubits averagely distributed between two nodes can be used for perfectly teleporting an arbitrary n-qubit state via Bell-state measurements is educed.Specifically,a matrix is composed of the coefficients of the known channel state and whether the matrix is unitary decides the criterion. As the criterion is apparently different from the usual standard entanglement criterion (USEC),its applicability is enlarged and verified by other measuring bases.Thorough analyses have further simplified the resultant criterion,so that a much simpler criterion than the USEC is conclusively obtained. Moreover, the flexibility of operation complexity between the non-unitary measurements and the unitary reconstructions is explicitly exhibited.ZUO XueQin 1,LIU YiMin 2,ZHANG ZiYun 1,ZHANG Wen 1 & ZHANG ZhanJun 1 1 Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Information Acquisition & Manipulation of Ministry of Education of China,School of Physics & Material Science,Anhui University,Hefei 230039,China 2 Department of Physics,Shaoguan University,Shaoguan 512005,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,11:5
The synthesis of astaxanthin esters, independent of the formation of cysts, highly correlates with the synthesis of fatty acids in Haematococcus pluvialis显示文摘The compositions and contents of astaxanthin esters and fatty acids in four types of Haematococcus pluvialis cells were studied by HPLC and GC-MS. Results showed that the synthesis and accumulation of astaxanthin was independent of the formation of cysts, but was highly correlated with the synthesis and accumulation of fatty acids, though it is an well known phenomenon that the accumulation of astaxanthin is usually accompanied by the formation of cyst. The red cysts contain more than 30% of fatty acids, with 81% of the unsaturated fatty acids. Taken together, besides a resource of astaxanthin, H. pluvialis would be a good resource of valuable fatty acids.MIAO FengPing1,2, LU DaYan1, ZHANG ChengWu3, ZUO JinCheng4, GENG YaHong1, HU HongJun1 & LI YeGuang1, 1 Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan 430074, China 2 Laboratory of Coastal Zone Bioresources, Yantai Institute of Costal Zone Research for Sustainable Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yantai 264003, China 3 Institute of Hydrobiology, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632, China 4 College of Life Science, Ludong University, Yantai 264025, China 2008Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,12:5
Theorem of turbulent intensity and macroscopic mechanism of the turbulence development显示文摘Turbulence is one of the most common nature phenomena in everyday experience, but that is not adequately understood yet. This article reviews the history and present state of development of the turbulence theory and indicates the necessity to probe into the turbulent features and mechanism with the different methods at different levels. Therefore this article proves a theorem of turbulent transpor- tation and a theorem of turbulent intensity by using the theory of the nonequilibrium thermodynamics, and that the Reynolds turbulence and the Rayleigh-Bénard turbulence are united in the theorems of the turbulent intensity and the turbulent transportation. The macroscopic cause of the development of fluid turbulence is a result from shearing effect of the velocity together with the temperature, which is also the macroscopic cause of the stretch and fold of trajectory in the phase space of turbulent field. And it is proved by the observed data of atmosphere that the phenomenological coefficient of turbulent in- tensity is not only a function of the velocity shear but also a function of temperature shear, viz the sta- bility of temperature stratification, in the atmosphere. Accordingly, authenticity of the theorem, which is proved by the theory of nonequilibrium thermodynamics, of turbulent intensity is testified by the facts of observational experiment.HU YinQiao1,2, CHEN JinBei3,4 & ZUO HongChao2 1 Gansu Province Key laboratory of Arid Climatic Change and Reducing Disaster, Cold and Arid Regions Environment and Engi- neering Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Physics and Atmospheric Chemistry (LAPC), Beijing 100029, China 3 Atmospheric Science College, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou 730000, China 4 Resource Environment Department, Lanzhou Agriculture University, Lanzhou 730060, China 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,5:5
Preparation of genuine Yeo-Chua entangled state and teleportation of two-atom state via cavity QED显示文摘We first propose a scheme for preparing the genuine Yeo-Chua 4-qubit entangled state via cavity QED. Using the genuine Yeo-Chua atomic state, we further propose a cavity QED scheme for teleporting an arbitrary two-atom state. In two schemes the large-detuning is chosen and the necessary time is designed to be much shorter than Rydberg-atom’s lifespan. Both schemes share the distinct advantage that cavity decay and atom decay can be neglected. As for the interaction manipulation, our preparation scheme is more feasible than a recent similar one. Compared with the Yeo and Chua’s scheme, our teleportation scheme has significantly reduced the measuring difficulty.ZHANG Wen 1 , LIU YiMin 2 , ZUO XueQin 1 & ZHANG ZhanJun 1* 1 School of Physics & Material Science, Anhui University, Hefei 230039, China 2 Department of Physics, Shaoguan University, Shaoguan 512005, China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,12:3
Influence of post-weld heat treatment on the microstructure and hardness of laser weld seams on hot-rolled TRIP 800 steel显示文摘The transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steels effect occurs because of the martensitic transformation of retained austenite during plastic deformation, and it provides the steel with excellent strength and ductility. While welding remains a vital part of auto body manufacturing, the weldability of TRIP steels is problematic, and this prevents its adoption for many applications in the automotive industry. This present work studies the effects of welding and post-weld heat treatment on the microstructure of TRIP steels. It is found that the microstructures of the fusion zone and the heat affected zone (HAZ) are changed after high-temperature heat treatment.Hardness tests revealed that fusion zone hardness decreased with increasing of temperatures in the post-weld heat treatment on the laser weld seam. The rolling performance of the welding seam and the seam of post-weld heat treatment were also studied.ZUO Dungui1,2) and YAN Qi1,2) 1) Auto Steel Division,Research Institute,Baoshan Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd.,Shanghai 201900,China 2) State Key Laboratory of Development and Application Technology of Automotive Steels (Baosteel),Shanghai 201900,China 2012Baosteel Technical Research2012,6,1:3

Comparative Study on Inorganic Composition and Crystallographic Properties of Cortical and Cancellous Bone显示文摘Objective To comparatively investigate the inorganic composition and crystallographic properties of cortical and cancellous bone via thermal treatment under 700 ℃.Methods Thermogravimetric measurement, infrared spectrometer,X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis and X-ray photo-electron spectrometer were used to test the physical and chemical properties of cortical and cancellous bone at room temperature 250 ℃,450 ℃,and 650 ℃,respectively. Results The process of heat treatment induced an extension in the a-lattice parameter and changes of the c-lattice parameter, and an increase in the crystallinity reflecting lattice rearrangement after release of lattice carbonate and possible lattice water. The mineral content in cortical and cancellous bone was 73.2wt% and 71.5wt%,respectively.For cortical bone, the weight loss was 6.7% at the temperature from 60 ℃ to 250 ℃,17.4% from 250 ℃ to 450 ℃,and 2.7% from 450 ℃ to 700 ℃.While the weight loss for the cancellous bone was 5.8%,19.9%,and 2.8 % at each temperature range, the Ca/P ratio of cortical bone was 1.69 which is higher than the 1.67 of stoichiometric HA due to the B-type CO32- substitution in apatite lattice. The Ca/P ratio of cancellous bone was lower than 1.67,suggesting the presence of more calcium deficient apatite. Conclusion The collagen fibers of cortical bone were arrayed more orderly than those of cancellous bone, while their mineralized fibers ollkded similar. The minerals in both cortical and cancellous bone are composed of poorly crystallized nano-size apatite crystals with lattice carbonate and possible lattice water. The process of heat treatment induces a change of the lattice parameter, resulting in lattice rearrangement after the release of lattice carbonate and lattice water and causing an increase in crystal size and crystallinity. This finding is helpful for future biomaterial design, preparation and application.XIAO-YAN WANG,YI ZUO,DI HUANG,XIAN-DENG HOU,AND YU-BAO LI 2 Research Center for Nano-Biomaterials Analysis and Testing,Sichuan University,Chengdu 610064,Sichuan,China 2010Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2010,23,6:2
Triaxial ellipsoid models of the Moon based on the laser altimetry data of Chang'E-1显示文摘Lunar geodetic parameters, which play an important role in lunar exploration, can be calculated from the gravity and topography data. With the CE-1 altimetry data and LP gravity model, we calculate such geodetic parameters as the principle moment of inertia, the principle inertia axes, equatorial radius, polar radius, mean radius, flattening and offset between center of mass and center of figure (DCOM-COF). According to the CE-1 altimetry data and the above geodetic parameters, a tri-axial ellipsoid (CE-1-LAM-GEO) and a tri-axial level ellipsoid (CE-1-LAM-LEVEL) are calculated individually, providing mass center and figure center offset (DCOM-COF) and parameters more reliable in direction and magnitude.WANG WenRui1,2,3, LI Fei1, LIU JianJun1, REN Xin2, ZOU XiaoDuan2,3, MU LingLi2, YAN JianGuo1, ZOU YongLiao2, ZHANG HongBo2, Lü Chang2, LIU JianZhong2, ZUO Wei2, SU Yan2, WEN WeiBin2, BIAN Wei2, WANG Min2, LI ChunLai2 & OUYANG ZiYuan2 1 School of Geodesy and Geomatics, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430079, China 2 National Astronomical Observatory of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China 3 Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,11:2
