1Effect of hepatocyte apoptosis induced by TNF-α on acute severe hepatitis in mouse models显示文摘AIM To study the effect of hepatocyteapoptosis and necrosis induced by TNF-α on thepathogenesis of acute severe hepatitis(ASH).METHODS The model of ASH was prepared inD-galactosamine(GAIN)sensitized BALB/c miceby injection of either endotoxin(ET)or tumornecrosis factor-α(TNF-α).Morphologicalchanges of apoptotic hepatocytes were studiedby both light and electron microscope and in siteend labeling method(ISEL).Molecular biologicalchanges of DNA ladder were observed byelectrophoresis of extract from liver tissues.Biochemical changes were measured by alanineaminotransferase(ALT),asparticaminotransferase(AST)and TNF-α.The relationbetween apoptosis and necrosis was evaluatedsimultaneously.RESULTS The sequence of hepatocyteapoptosis,necrosis,and final death from ASHwas observed both in GAIN/ET and GAIN/TNF-agroup.Apoptosis was prominent at 3.5 h and 5 hafter injection of inducer,while necrosis becamedominant at 9 h after challenge.The appearanceof apoptosis was earlier in GAIN/TNF-α groupthan that in GAIN/ ET group.Pretreatment ofmice with antiTNF IgG1 may completely preventthe liver injury induced by GalN/ET.CONCLUSION TNF-α can cause liver damageby inducing hepatic apoptosis and necrosis inmice with endotoxemia.Guo Qing Zang Xia Qiu Zhou Hong Yu Qing Xie Guo Ming Zhao Bin Wang Qing Guo Yue Qin Xiang Dan Liao Department of Infectious Diseases,Rujin Hospital,Shanghai Second Medical University,Shanghai 200025,China 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,5:30
2Combined acoustic radiation force impulse, aminotransferase to platelet ratio index and Forns index assessment for hepatic fibrosis grading in hepatitis B显示文摘AIM: To investigate the combined diagnostic accuracy of acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI), aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index(APRI) and Forns index for a non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). METHODS: In this prospective study, 206 patients had CHB with liver fibrosis stages F0-F4 classified by METAVIR and 40 were healthy volunteers were measured by ARFI, APRI and Forns index separately or combined as indicated. RESULTS: ARFI, APRI or Forns index demonstrated a significant correlation with the histological stage(all P < 0.001). According to the AUROC of ARFI and APRI for evaluating fibrotic stages more than F2, ARFI showed an enhanced diagnostic accuracy than APRI(P < 0.05). The combined measurement of ARFI and APRI exhibited better accuracy than ARFI alone when evaluating ≥ F2 fibrotic stage(Z = 2.77, P = 0.006). Combination of ARFI, APRI and Forns index did not obviously improve the diagnostic accuracy compared to the combination of ARFI and APRI(Z = 0.958, P = 0.338). 3Silymarin in non alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘AIM: This study was undertaken to evaluate the hepatic effects of silybum marianum on non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). METHODS: In 72 patients affected by NAFLD, main metabolic, hepatic and anti-inflammatory parameters were assayed after 3 mo of a restricted diet and before silymarin treatment (twice a day orally). The brightness of liver echography texture (hepatorenal ratio brightness) was also defined at same time. These evaluations were repeated after 6 mo of treatment. RESULTS: Serum levels of some metabolic and anti-inflammatory data nonsignificantly lowered after 6 mo of silymarin. On the contrary, Steato test, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase were significantly (P < 0.001) reduced. Instead, the AST/ALT ratio unchanged. Finally, the hepatorenal brightness ratio, as an index of hepatic steatosis, significantly (P < 0.05) dropped. CONCLUSION: The obtained results indicate that silymarin appears to be effective to reduce the biochemical, inflammatory and ultrasonic indices of hepatic steatosis. 4Diagnostic value of gamma-glutamyltransferase/aspartate aminotransferase ratio, protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist II, and alpha-fetoprotein in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND Researchers have investigated the diagnostic value of protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist II (PIVKA-II) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and obtained abundant clinical diagnostic data. However, PIVKA-II and AFP have unsatisfactory specificity and sensitivity in the diagnosis of early-stage HBV-related HCC. Gamma-glutamyltransferase (γ-GT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) are common biomarkers for evaluating liver function, and we hypothesized that the γ-GT/AST ratio in combination with PIVKA-II and AFP would improve the diagnosis of early-stage HBV-related HCC. AIM To evaluate the diagnostic value of γ-GT/AST ratio alone or in combination with PIVKA-II and AFP in HBV-related HCC. METHODS Serum levels of γ-GT, AST, PIVKA-II, and AFP were detected and analysed in 176 patients with HBV-related HCC and in 359 patients with chronic hepatitis B. According to tumour size and serum level of HBV DNA, HBV-related HCC patients were divided into the following categories: Early-stage HCC patients, HCC patients, HBV DNA positive (HBV DNA+) HCC patients, and HBV DNA negative (HBV DNA-) HCC patients. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to analyse and compare the diagnostic value of the single and combined detection of various biomarkers in different types of HBV-related HCC. RESULTS Tumour size was positively correlated with serum levels of PIVKA-II and AFP in HCC patients (r = 0.529, aP < 0.001 and r = 0.270, bP < 0.001, respectively), but there was no correlation between tumour size and the γ-GT/AST ratio (r = 0.073, P = 0.336). The areas under the receiver-operating characteristic curves (AUROCs) of the γ-GT/AST ratio in early-stage HCC patients, HBV DNA+ HCC patients and HBV DNA- HCC patients were not significantly different from that in the total HCC patients (0.754, 0.802, and 0.705 vs 0.779, respectively;P > 0.05). When PIVKA-II was combined with the γ-GT/AST ratio in the diagnosis of earlystage HCC, HCC, and HBV DNA+ HCC, the AUROCs of PIVKA-II increased, with values of 0.857 vs 0.835, 0.925 vs 0.913, and 0.958 vs 0.954, respectively. When AFP was combined with the γ-GT/AST ratio in the diagnosis of early-stage HCC, HCC, HBV DNA+ HCC, and HBV DNA- HCC, the AUROCs of AFP increased, with values of 0.757 vs 0.621, 0.837 vs 0.744, 0.868 vs 0.757, and 0.840 vs 0.828, respectively. 5HBV genotype characterization and distribution in patients with HBV-related liver diseases in Zhejiang Province, P. R. China: possible association of co-infection with disease prevalence and severity显示文摘BACKGROUND: There are 8 well-documented genotypes of hepatitis B virus (HBV) at this time point. Genotyping can be accomplished based on a partial sequence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) genome such as the pre-S or S gene. Several methods have been developed and used for HBV genotyping including direct sequencing, restriction fragment length polymorphism, line probe assay and enzyme-linked immunoassay. Recently, a novel, rapid and cost-effective genotyping method based on PCR amplification assay using type-specific primers that can identify all six major genotypes has been developed. This study was undertaken to characterise HBV genotypes and investigate the association between the prevalence of different genotypes and the severity of HBV-induced liver diseases. METHODS: Serum samples from carriers of HBV and patients with HBV-related liver diseases from Zhejiang Province were screened for viral serological markers using commercially available radioimmunoassay (RIA) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits. Serum HBV DNA load was determined by real-time detection PCR. A type-specific primer based the nested-PCR method was employed in the HBV genotyping. The genotype results obtained were confirmed by direct sequencing of nested PCR amplicons of the pre-S region. Ten samples of each genotype (B and C) were sequenced. RESULTS: The survey on a cohort of 125 HBV carriers in and around Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province showed the existence of HBV genotypes A (0.8%), B (48%), C (40.8%), D (0.8%), mixed B and C (9.6%) and an absence of E and F genotypes. Distribution of HBV genotypes in patients with liver diseases revealed a statistically insignificant higher prevalence of genotype B in mild chronic hepatitis (CH). Among the three genotypes B, C and mixed B/C infections 11 (73.3%), 3 (20%) and 1 (6.7%), (P< 0.05), respectively in subjects with moderate CH, genotype B was significantly predominant. The infection patterns for genotypes B, C and B/C mixed in (i) liver cirrhosis (LC) 4 (23.5%), 10 (58.8%) and3 (17.7%) and (ii) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) 2 (28.6%), 5(71.4%) and 0 (0.0%) respectively revealed a marked association of C genotype with liver disease; however, the association was statistically insignificant (P >0.05). Differences in positive rate of HBeAg for the three genotypes B, 16(30.8%), C, 27(51.9%), and mixed B/C, 9(17.3%) were significant (P < 0. 05 ) , with genotype C showing predominance. CONCLUSIONS : These findings show an interesting distribution of HBV A-D genotypes in Zhejiang Province. 6Modulatory effect of pineapple peel extract on lipid peroxidation,catalase activity and hepatic biomarker levels in blood plasma of alcoholinduced oxidative stressed rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the ability of the methanolic extract of pineapple peel to modulate alcohol-induced lipid peroxidation,changes in catalase activities and hepatic biochemical marker levels in blood plasma.Methods:Oxidative stress was induced by oral administration of ethanol(20%w/v) at a dosage of 5 niL/kg bw in rats.After 28 days of treatment,the rats were fasted overnight and sacrificed by cervical dislocation.Blood was collected with a 2 mL syringe by cardiac puncture and was centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 min.The plasma was analyzed to evaluate malondialdehyde(MDA),catalase activity,aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP) and alanine aminotransferase(ALT) concentrations.Results:Administration of alcohol caused a drastic increase(87.74%) in MDA level compared with the control.Pineapple peel extract significantly reduced the MDA level by 60.16%at 2.S mL/kg bw.Rats fed alcohol only had the highest catalase activity,treatment with pineapple peel extract at 2.5 mL/kg bw however, reduced the activity.Increased AST,ALP and ALT activities were observed in rats fed alcohol only respectively,treatment with pineapple peel extract drastically reduced their activities. 8Glutamate and aspartate alleviate testicular/epididymal oxidative stress by supporting antioxidant enzymes and immune defense systems in boars显示文摘Several potential oxidative agents have damaging effects on mammalian reproductive systems.This study was conducted to investigate the effects of glutamate(Glu)and aspartate(Asp)supplementation on antioxidant enzymes and immune defense systems in the outer scrotum of boars injected with H2O2.A total of 24 healthy boars were randomly divided into 4 treatment groups:control(basal diet,saline-treated),H2O2(basal diet,H2O2-challenged outer scrotum(1 m L kg^–1 BW)),Glu(basal diet+2%Glu,H2O2-challenged),and Asp(basal diet+2%Asp,H2O2-challenged).Our results showed that both Glu and Asp supplementation improved testicular morphology and decreased the genital index in the H2O2-treated boars.Glu and Asp administration increased the antioxidant enzyme activities and affected the testicular inflammatory cytokine secretion but had no effect on sex hormone levels.Furthermore,the m RNA expression of CAT,Cu Zn SOD,and GPx4 was altered in the testes and epididymis of boars treated with Asp and Glu.Glu and Asp supplementation also modulated the expression of TGF-β1,IL-10,TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1βin the testis and epididymis.These results indicate that dietary Glu and Asp supplementation might enhance antioxidant capacity and regulate the secretion and expression of inflammatory cytokines to protect the testes and epididymis of boars against oxidative stress.Wenjie Tang Jian Wu Shunshun Jin Liuqin He Qinlu Lin Feijun Luo Xingguo He Yanzhong Feng Binsheng He Pingping Bing Tiejun Li Yulong Yin 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1:9
9Increased liver markers are associated with higher risk of type 2 diabetes显示文摘AIM: To investigate the association between liver markers and the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2DM) and impaired fasting glucose(IFG).METHODS: A total of 8863 participants(3408 men and 5455 women) over 30 years of age were analyzed from the fifth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2010-2011). The associations of serum liver markers such as aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), AST/ALT, and gamma-glutamyltransferase(GGT) with T2 DM and IFG were analyzed using logistic regression models. Participants were divided into sex-specific quartiles on the basis of liver markers.RESULTS: The prevalence of T2 DM and IFG were 11.3% and 18.3%. Increasing quartiles of ALT and GGT were positively and AST/ALT were negatively correlated with T2 DM and IFG. Analysis of the liver marker combinations showed that if any two or more markers were in the highest risk quartile, the risks of both T2 DM and IFG increased significantly. The risk was greatest when the highest ALT and GGT and lowest AST/ALT quartile were combined, with the riskof T2 DM at 3.21(95%CI: 1.829-5.622, P < 0.001) in men and 4.60(95%CI: 3.217-6.582, P < 0.001) in women. 10Elevated serum interleukin-38 level at baseline predicts virological response in telbivudine-treated patients with chronic hepatitis B显示文摘AIM: To investigate serum interleukin(IL)-38 level and its clinical role in predicting virological response(VR) to telbivudine(Ld T) in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB).METHODS: The study participants were divided into two groups; one group consisted of 43 healthy controls(HCs) and the other group consisted of 46 patients with hepatitis B e antigen-positive CHB. All patients were administered 600 mg of oral Ld T daily for 52 wk, and they visited physicians every 12 wk for physical examination and laboratory tests. Serum IL-38 levels were determined using ELISA. The concentrations of serum Th1- and Th2-type cytokines were measured using the cytometric bead array(CBA) method. RESULTS: Serum levels of IL-38 at baseline in all patients were higher than those in HCs [306.97(123.26-492.79) pg/m L vs 184.50(135.56-292.16) pg/m L, P = 0.019]; the levels returned to normal after the first 12 wk of treatment with Ld T [175.51(103.90-331.91) pg/m L vs 184.50(135.56-292.16) pg/m L, P > 0.05]. Serum IL-38 levels at baseline were positively associated with serum aspartate aminotransferase levels in patients with CHB(r = 0.311, P = 0.036). Higher levels of serum IL-38 at baseline were associated with a greater probability of VR to Ld T treatment at 24 wk(48.15% vs 15.79%, P = 0.023) and 52 wk(66.67% vs 36.84%, P = 0.044). The levels of serum IL-38 in patients with primary nonresponse at week 12 after treatment initiation were lower than those in patients with primary response [64.44(49.85-172.08) pg/m L vs 190.54(121.35-355.28) pg/m L, P = 0.036]. Serum IL-38 levels were correlated with serum IL-6 and IL-12 levels in patients with CHB during treatment with Ld T. CONCLUSION: Elevated serum IL-38 levels in untreated CHB patients reflect ongoing liver injury. 11Serum angiotensin-converting enzyme level for evaluating significant fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B显示文摘AIM To evaluate the diagnostic performance of angiotensinconverting enzyme(ACE)on significant liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). METHODS In total,100 patients with CHB who underwent liver biopsy in our hospital were enrolled,and 70 patients except for 30 patients with hypertension,fatty liver or habitual alcoholic consumption were analyzed.We compared histological liver fibrosis and serum ACE levels and evaluated the predictive potential to diagnose significant liver fibrosis by comparison with several biochemical marker-based indexes such as the aspartate aminotransferase(AST)-to-platelet ratio index(APRI),the fibrosis index based on four factors(FIB-4),the Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer(M2BPGi)level and the number of platelets(Plt). RESULTS Serum ACE levels showed moderately positive correlation with liver fibrotic stages(R2=0.181).Patients with significant,advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis(F2-4)had significantly higher serum ACE levels than those with early-stage fibrosis and cirrhosis(F0-1).For significant fibrosis(≥F2),the 12.8 U/L cut-off value of ACE showed 91.7%sensitivity and 75.0%specificity.The receiver-operating characteristic(ROC)curves analysis revealed that the area under the curve(AUC)value of ACE was 0.871,which was higher than that of APRI,FIB-4,M2BPGi and Plt. 12Relationship between alcohol consumption and clinical manifestation of patients with fatty liver:a single-center study显示文摘BACKGROUND:Fatty liver is a common chronic liver disease worldwide.It is associated with an increasing morbidity in China in recent years.The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of drinking alcohol on the hemoglobin and biochemical values of patients with fatty liver.METHODS:We investigated the clinical and laboratory data of 669 patients with fatty liver.Of the 669 patients,166 consumed alcohol more than 60 g per week for at least 2 years,and 503 did not have a history of long-term alcohol consumption.We further analyzed the relationship between alcohol consumption and clinical characteristics of these patients.RESULTS:The values of aspartate transaminase (AST),gammaglutamyl transpeptidase (GGT),and hemoglobin in the long-term consumption group were significantly higher than those in the non long-term consumption group (P<0.05).In the patients without long-term alcohol consumption,the values of GGT and hemoglobin in patients with light alcohol consumption were significantly higher than those in non alcohol consumers (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Alcohol consumption is associated with significantly increased values of AST,GGT,and hemoglobin in patients with fatty liver,suggesting their potential roles in hepatic steatosis.International Health Care Center (Wang XF) and Department of Gastroenterology (Yue M),First Affiliated Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine,Hangzhou 310003,China 2011Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2011,10,3:5

14Validation of aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratiofor diagnosis of liver fibrosis and prediction of postoperativeprognosis in infants with biliary atresia显示文摘Validation of aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratiofor diagnosis of liver fibrosis and prediction of postoperativeprognosis in infants with biliary atresia pathological Metavir fibrosis score of the liver wedgespecimens of 91 BA infants. The prognostic value ofpreoperative APRI for jaundice persistence, liver injury,and occurrence of cholangitis within 6 mo after KP wasstudied based on the follow-up data of 48 BA infants.RESULTS: APRI was significantly correlated withMetavir scores (rs = 0.433; P 〈 0.05). The mean APRIvalue was 0.76 in no/mild fibrosis group (Metavir scoreF0-F1), 1.29 in significant fibrosis group (F2-F3), and2.51 in cirrhosis group (F4) (P 〈 0.001). The areaunder the ROC curve (AUC) of APRI for diagnosingsignificant fibrosis and cirrhosis was 0.75 (P 〈 0.001)and 0.81 (P = 0.001), respectively. The APRI cut-offof 0.95 was 60.6% sensitive and 76.0% specific forsignificant fibrosis diagnosis, and a threshold of 1.66was 70.6% sensitive and 82.7% specific for cirrhosis.The preoperative APRI in infants who maintainedjaundice around 6 mo after KP was higher than thatin those who did not (1.86 ± 2.13 vs 0.87 ± 0.48, P 〈0.05). The AUC of APRI for prediction of postoperativejaundice occurrence was 0.67. A cut-off value of0.60 showed a sensitivity of 66.7% and a specificityof 83.3% for the prediction of jaundice persistence.Preoperative APRI had no significant association withlater liver injury or occurrence of cholangitis.CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrated that APRIcould diagnose significant liver fibrosis, especiallycirrhosis in BA infants, and the elevated preoperativeAPRI predicts jaundice persistence after KP.2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,19:4

16中药自拟方对慢性萎缩性胃炎癌前病变模型大鼠胃黏膜组织中c-myc、caspase-3表达的影响显示文摘目的:研究中药自拟方对慢性萎缩性胃炎癌前病变模型大鼠胃黏膜组织中原癌基因c-myc、半胱氨酸天冬氨酸蛋白酶-3(cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-3, caspase-3)表达的影响。方法将120只Wistar大鼠按随机数字表法分为正常组,模型组,自拟方大、中、小剂量组及胃复春组,每组20只。除正常组外,其余各组大鼠制备慢性萎缩性胃炎癌前病变大鼠模型。造模成功后,自拟方大、中、小剂量组分别灌胃生药含量为2.088、1.044、0.522 g/ml的自拟汤药,胃复春组灌胃胃复春混悬液0.076 g/ml,给药量1 ml/100g大鼠;正常组、模型组灌胃等体积生理盐水。1次/d,连续给药12周。采用免疫组化染色法检测大鼠胃黏膜中原癌基因 c-myc、caspase-3的表达。结果与模型组比较,自拟方大、中剂量组与胃复春组c-myc[(30.25±3.56)%、(45.37±4.81)%、(38.79±4.02)%比(63.45±7.08)%]表达降低(P<0.01或P<0.05),caspase-3[(36.85±5.02)%、(31.24±4.55)%、(31.57±4.62)%比(23.43±2.95)%]表达升高(P<0.01或P<0.05)。结论中药自拟方可抑制慢性萎缩性胃炎癌前病变大鼠胃黏膜中c-myc的表达,激活caspase-3,增加慢性萎缩性胃炎癌前病变的细胞凋亡。苗莉莉 杨振国 王晓妍 曹志群 2016国际中医中药杂志2016,38,8:4
17Monitoring the level of serum paraoxonase 1 activity in liver transplantation patients显示文摘BACKGROUND: Paraoxonase 1(PON1) is an ester hydro- lase in serum and in the liver. Studies have suggested that PON1 measurement to the current battery of tests may im- prove the evaluation of chronic liver diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical significance of mo- nitoring the level of serum PON1 activity in liver transplan- tation patients. METHODS: A series of biochemical indexes were moni- tored in preoperative, operative and postoperative serum samples of 17 liver-transplanted patients. The change of se- rum PON1 level and its relations with other biochemical in- dexes were analyzed. RESULTS: PON1 was distributed normally in the healthy population and its reference value ranged from 45.5 to 265.8 U/mL. The PON1 level of all patients was lower than that of control group significantly (P<0.001); the level be- gan to elevate continuously 5 minutes after opening of the portal vein and was higher than that 90 minutes after open- ing of the portal vein ( P <0.05). Two days after operation it was still higher than the normal. The levels of serum ALT and AST elevated more significantly after opening of the portal vein than before operation and they were higher than the normal values till 2 days after the operation. 18Significance of platelet count and platelet-based models for hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence显示文摘AIM:To explore the effects of platelet count(PLT)and11 platelet-based indices on postoperative recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS:We retrospectively analyzed 172 HCC patients who were treated by partial hepatectomy.Preoperative data,including laboratory biochemical results,were used to calculate the 11 indices included in the analysis.We performed receiver operating characteristic curve analysis to determine the optimal cut-off values for predicting recurrence.Cumulative rates of HCC recurrence were calculated using KaplanMeier survival curves and differences were analyzed by log-rank tests.Multivariate analyses were performed to identify independent predictors of recurrence,early recurrence(within one year after surgery),and late recurrence in HCC.To obtain better prognostic models,PLT-based indices were analyzed separately after being expressed as binary and continuous variables.Two platelet-unrelated,validated HCC prognostic models were included in the analyses as reference indices.Additional analyses were performed after patients were stratified based on hepatitis B virus infection status,cirrhosis,and tumor size to investigate the significance of platelets in different subgroups.RESULTS:In the study cohort,44.2%(76/172)of patients experienced HCC recurrence,and 50.6%(87/172)died during a median follow-up time of 46mo.PLT and five of the 11 platelet-related models were significant predisposing factors for recurrence(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis indicated that,among the clinical parameters,presence of ascites,PLT≥148×109/L,alkaline phosphatase≥116 U/L,and tumor size≥5 cm were independently associated with ahigher risk of HCC recurrence(P<0.05).Independent and significant models included the aspartate aminotransferase/PLT index,fibrosis index based on the four factors,fibro-quotient,aspartate aminotransferase/PLT/γ-glutamyl transpeptidase/alpha-fetoprotein index,and the PLT/age/alkaline phosphatase/alphafetoprotein/aspartate aminotransferase index.There were different risk factors between early and late recurrences,and PLT and these indices were more inclined to influence late recurrence.PLT was only predictive of recurrence in non-cirrhotic HCC patients,and was not influenced by tumor size,which was a critical confounder in our study.CONCLUSION:PLT and PLT-basednoninvasive models are effective tools for predicting postoperative recurrence,especially late recurrence.Larger cohorts are needed to validate our findings.Qing Pang Jing-Yao Zhang Xin-Sen Xu Si-Dong Song Kai Qu Wei Chen Yan-Yan Zhou Run-Chen Miao Su-Shun Liu Ya-Feng Dong Chang Liu 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,18:3

20Regional Metabolic Patterns of Abnormal Postoperative Behavioral Performance in Aged Mice Assessed by XH-NMR Dynamic Mapping Method显示文摘Abnormal postoperative neurobehavioral performance(APNP)is a common phenomenon in the early postoperative period.The disturbed homeostatic status of metabolites in the brain after anesthesia and surgery might make a significant contribution to APNP.The dynamic changes of metabolites in different brain regions after anesthesia and surgery,as well as their potential association with APNP are still not well understood.Here,we used a battery of behavioral tests to assess the effects of laparotomy under isoflurane anesthesia in aged mice,and investigated the metabolites in 12 different sub-regions of the brain at different time points using proton nuclear magnetic resonance('H-NMR)spectroscopy.The abnormal neurobehavioral performance occurred at 6 h and/or 9 h,and recovered at 24 h after anesthesia/surgery.Compared with the control group,the altered metabolite of the model group at 6 h was aspartate(Asp),and the difference was mainly displayed in the cortex;while significant changes at 9 h occurred predominantly in the cortex and hippocampus,and the corresponding metabolites were Asp and glutamate(Glu).All changes returned to baseline at 24 h.The altered metabolic changes could have occurred as a result of the acute APNP,and the metabolites Asp and Glu in the cortex and hippocampus could provide preliminary evidence for understanding the APNP process.Taotao Liu Zhengqian Li Jindan He Ning Yang Dengyang Han Yue Li Xuebi Tian Huili Liu Anne Manyande Hongbing Xiang Fuqiang Xu Jie Wang Xiangyang Guo 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,1:2
