| 1 | Helicobacter pylori infection and risk of gastric cancer in Changle County,Fujian Province,China显示文摘AIM To evaluate the effects of Helicobacterpylori infection and other environmental factorson the development of gastric cancer.METHODS A population-based case-controlstudy was conducted in Changle County,FujianProvince.The primary gastric cancer cases werehistologically confirmed or diagnosed by surgerybetween,January 1996 and March 1998.Healthycontrols were randomly selected and matched byage,sex,and neighborhood of residence.Atotal of 101 pairs were included in the study.Specially trained interviewers conducted face-to-face interviews with the subjects according toa standardized questionnaire.Helicobacterpylori infections were measured by serum IgGantibody to Helicobacter pylori.ConditionalLogistic Regression analysis was used.RESULTS The presence of IgG antibody toHelicobacter pylori was 63.7% in studysubjects,56.0% in patients with cardiac cancer,and 60.5% in patients with non-cardiac gastriccancer.The risk factors of gastric cancer inChangle County were identified such as loweducational level[OR=3.864;95% confidenceinterval(95% CI)1.604-9.311],lowconsumption of fresh vegetables(OR=4.925;95%Cl 1.356-17.885),high intake of fish sauce(OR=10.587;95% Cl 2.821-39.738),unscheduled meals(OR=4.254;95%Cl 1.445- 12.552),and Helicobacter pylori infection(OR=3.453;95%Cl 0.901-13.224).CONCLUSION Helicobacter pylori infectionmay be important in the etiology of gastriccancer,but major risk factors other thanHelicobacter pylori are responsible for the highgastric morbidity in Changle County. | Lin Cai Shun Zhang Yu Zuo Feng Zhang | 2000 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,3: | 74 |

| 4 | Antimicrobial resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii : From bench to bedside显示文摘Acinetobacter baumannii(A. baumannii) is undoubtedly one of the most successful pathogens in the modern healthcare system. With invasive procedures, antibiotic use and immunocompromised hosts increasing in recent years, A. baumannii has become endemic in hospitals due to its versatile genetic machinery, which allows it to quickly evolve resistance factors, and to its remarkable ability to tolerate harsh environments. Infections and outbreaks caused by multidrugresistant A. baumannii(MDRAB) are prevalent and have been reported worldwide over the past twenty or more years. To address this problem effectively, knowledge of species identification, typing methods, clinical manifestations, risk factors, and virulence factors is essential. The global epidemiology of MDRAB is monitored by persistent surveillance programs. Because few effective antibiotics are available, clinicians often face serious challenges when treating patients with MDRAB. Therefore, a deep understanding of the resistance mechanisms used by MDRAB can shed light on two possible strategies to combat the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance: stringent infection control and antibiotic treatments, of which colistin-based combination therapy is the mainstream strategy. | 6 | Programmable time-domain digital-coding metasurface for non-linear harmonic manipulation and new wireless communication systems显示文摘Optical non-linear phenomena are typically observed in natural materials interacting with light at high intensities, and they benefit a diverse range of applications from communication to sensing. However,controlling harmonic conversion with high efficiency and flexibility remains a major issue in modern optical and radio-frequency systems. Here, we introduce a dynamic time-domain digital-coding metasurface that enables efficient manipulation of spectral harmonic distribution. By dynamically modulating the local phase of the surface reflectivity, we achieve accurate control of different harmonics in a highly programmable and dynamic fashion, enabling unusual responses, such as velocity illusion. As a relevant application, we propose and realize a novel architecture for wireless communication systems based on the time-domain digital-coding metasurface, which largely simplifies the architecture of modern communication systems, at the same time yielding excellent performance for real-time signal transmission. | 7 | Danshen: a phytochemical and pharmacological overview显示文摘Danshen, the dried root or rhizome of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge., is a traditional and folk medicine in Asian countries, especially in China and Japan. In this review, we summarized the recent researches of Danshen in traditional uses and preparations, chemical constituents, pharmacological activities and side effects. A total of 201 compounds from Danshen have been reported, including lipophilic diterpenoids, water-soluble phenolic acids, and other constituents, which have showed various pharmacological activities, such as anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation, anti-tumor, anti-atherogenesis, and anti-diabetes. | 8 | H5N1 avian influenza in China显示文摘H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus was first detected in a goose in Guangdong Province of China in 1996. Multiple genotypes of H5N1 viruses have been identified from apparently healthy waterfowl since 1999. In the years 2004-2008, over 100 outbreaks in domestic poultry occurred in 23 provinces and caused severe economic damage to the poultry industry in China. Beginning from 2004, a culling plus vaccination strategy has been implemented for the control of epidemics. Since then, over 35420000 poultry have been depopulated, and over 55 billion doses of the different vaccines have been used to control the outbreaks. Although it is logistically impossible to vaccinate every single bird in China due to the large poultry population and the complicated rearing styles, there is no doubt that the increased vaccination coverage has resulted in decreased disease epidemic and environmental virus loading. In this review, the typical products and prototypes of lower limb exoskeleton rehabilitation robots are introduced and stateof-the-art techniques are analyzed and summarized. Because the goal of rehabilitation training is to recover patients’ sporting ability to the normal level, studying the human gait is the foundation of lower limb exoskeleton rehabilitation robot research. Therefore, this review critically evaluates research progress in human gait analysis and systematically summarizes developments in the mechanical design and control of lower limb rehabilitation exoskeleton robots. From the performance of typical prototypes, it can be deduced that these robots can be connected to human limbs as wearable forms;further, it is possible to control robot movement at each joint to simulate normal gait and drive the patient’s limb to realize robot-assisted rehabilitation training. | 17 | Optimal Control of Nonlinear Inverted Pendulum System Using PID Controller and LQR: Performance Analysis Without and With Disturbance Input显示文摘Linear quadratic regulator(LQR) and proportional-integral-derivative(PID) control methods, which are generally used for control of linear dynamical systems, are used in this paper to control the nonlinear dynamical system. LQR is one of the optimal control techniques, which takes into account the states of the dynamical system and control input to make the optimal control decisions.The nonlinear system states are fed to LQR which is designed using a linear state-space model. This is simple as well as robust. The inverted pendulum, a highly nonlinear unstable system, is used as a benchmark for implementing the control methods. Here the control objective is to control the system such that the cart reaches a desired position and the inverted pendulum stabilizes in the upright position. In this paper, the modeling and simulation for optimal control design of nonlinear inverted pendulum-cart dynamic system using PID controller and LQR have been presented for both cases of without and with disturbance input. | 19 | Methods of vascular control technique during liver resection:a comprehensive review显示文摘BACKGROUND:Significant hemorrhage together with blood transfusion increases postoperative morbidity and mortality of hepatic resection.Hepatic vascular occlusion is effective in minimizing bleeding during hepatic parenchymal transection.This article aimed to review the current role and status of various techniques of hepatic vascular occlusion during hepatic resection.DATA SOURCES:The relevant manuscripts were identified by searching MEDLINE,and PubMed for articles published between January 1980 and April 2010 using the keywords ' vascular control','vascular clamping','vascular exclusion' and 'hepatectomy'.Additional papers were identified by a manual search of the references from the key articles.RESULTS:One randomized controlled trial(RCT) and 5 RCTs showed intermittent Pringle maneuver and ischemic preconditioning followed by continuous Pringle maneuver were superior to continuous Pringle maneuver alone,respectively.Two RCTs compared the outcomes of hepatectomy with and without intermittent Pringle maneuver.One showed Pringle maneuver to be beneficial,while the other failed to show any benefit.One RCT showed that ischemic preconditioning had significantly less blood loss than using intermittent Pringle maneuver.Four RCTs evaluated the use of hemihepatic vascular occlusion.One RCT showed it had significantly less blood loss than Pringle maneuver,while the other 3 showed no significant difference.Only 1 RCT showed it had significantly less liver ischemic injury.No RCT had been carried out to assess segmental vascular occlusion.Two RCTs compared the outcomes of total hepatic vascular exclusion(THVE) and Pringle maneuver.One RCT showed THVE resulted in similar blood loss,but a higher postoperative complication.The other RCT showed less blood loss using THVE but the postoperative complication rate was similar.Both studies showed similar degree of liver ischemic injury.Only one RCT showed that selective hepatic vascular exclusion(SHVE) had less blood loss and liver ischemic injury than Pringle maneuver.CONCLUSION:Due to the great variations in these studies,it is difficult to draw a definitive conclusion on the best technique of hepatic vascular control. | Wan-Yee Lau Eric C.H.Lai Stephanie H.Y.Lau | 2010 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010,9,5: | 27 |

The results showed that the seedling heights sprayed with 100 和 1 000 mg·L -1 of the first group and with 50 和 100 mg·L -1 of the second group were significantly higher than the controls, and the diameter at ground level sprayed with 300 mg·L -1 of the second group was significantly greater than the control, being 26.92% more than the latter; except for spraying with 0 mg5L -1 and 700~1 500 mg5L -1 of the second group, the seedling dry weight above ground of others was 29.13%~73.91% greater than the control, whereas the seedling dry weight under ground of others was 20.78%~116.88% greater than the control; the contents of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b for all spraying seedling were 91.67%~191.67% and 87.5%~306.25% greater than the control, respectively, and soluble proteins and soluble sugars were 16.00%~179.78% and 10.73%~105.65% greater than the control, respectively. Compared with the control, the activity of SOD tended to increase, whereas the contents of MDA decreased. These indicated that spraying leaves with optimum concentration of mixed nitric_acid rare earth solution could markedly promote the growth of seedlings and improve resistance ability of V. montana seedlings to bad environment.
