1Preparation and anisotropic properties of textured structural ceramics: A review显示文摘Ceramics are usually composed of randomly oriented grains and intergranular phases, so their properties are the statistical average along each direction and show isotropy corresponding to the uniform microstructures. Some methods have been developed to achieve directional grain arrangement and preferred orientation growth during ceramic preparation, and then textured ceramics with anisotropic properties are obtained. Texture microstructures give particular properties to ceramics along specific directions, which can effectively expand their application fields. In this review, typical texturing techniques suitable for ceramic materials, such as hot working, magnetic alignment, and templated grain growth(TGG), are discussed. Several typical textured structural ceramics including α-Al2O3 and related nacre bioinspired ceramics, Si3N4 and SiAlON, h-BN, MB2 matrix ultra-high temperature ceramics, MAX phases and their anisotropic properties are presented.Zhuo ZHANG Xiaoming DUAN Baofu QIU Zhihua YANG Delong CAI Peigang HE Dechang JIA Yu ZHOU 2019Journal of Advanced Ceramics2019,8,3:14
2Effect of ECAP temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al–Zn–Mg–Cu alloy显示文摘The effect of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) at different temperatures(room temperature, 120,150 and 180 °C) on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-7075 solid solution alloy was investigated. Microstructure of the specimens was examined using orientation imaging microscopy, transmission electron microscopy as well as X-ray diffractometer, and mechanical properties were measured by Vickers microhardness and tensile tests. Microstructural investigations showed that after3 or 4 passes of ECAP, fi ne grains with average grain sizes in range of 300–1000 nm could be obtained at different ECAP temperatures. Increasing ECAP temperature from 120 to 180 °C caused a decrease in mechanical properties as a result of increasing grains and precipitates sizes, decreasing fraction of high angle boundaries and also transformation of η′ into η phase, while increasing ECAP temperature from RT to 120 °C leads to an increase in mechanical properties due to the formation of small η′ precipitates. So it can be concluded that ECAP process at 120 °C is the optimum process for attaining maximum mechanical properties. Quantitative estimates of various strengthening mechanisms revealed that the improvement of mechanical properties was mainly attributed to grain re fi nement strengthening, precipitation strengthening and dislocation strengthening.M.H.Shaeri M.Shaeri M.Ebrahimi M.T.Salehi S.H Seyyedein 2016Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2016,26,2:7
3STRENGTHENING MECHANISMSIN TiAl BASED ALLOYS显示文摘The influence of heat treatment and of thermomechanical processing on the structure and properties of a range of TiAl based alloys has been assessed and in agreement with other reports it has been found that increased refinement of the microstructure leads to improved mechanical strength at room temperature, both for the lamellar and the duplex structures. In the case of alloys cooled rapidly from the alpha phase field the increased refinement in lamellar spacing leads to significant increases in room temperature strength but thermomechanical processing can lead to far greater increases. The origin of this increase in strength in samples with a lamellar structure has been assessed in terms of the ability of dislocations to cross gamma/gamma and gamma/alpha 2 lamellar interfaces. It was concluded that the alpha 2 gamma interfaces and the alpha itself are important factors in strengthening the lamellar alloys. The stability of the various structures developed either by appropriate heat treatments or by thermomechanical processing has been investigated by exposing samples for a range of times at temperatures between 700 and 1 000 ℃. It has been found that the yield strength and the ultimate tensile strength generally decreased by about 20% during high temperature exposure at 700 ℃ for 3 000 h. The detailed behaviour on exposure at 700 ℃ has been found to be a function of alloy composition, with complex precipitates being formed in some alloys, but in all cases the amount of alpha 2 decreased with increased heat treatment time. It has been found that during exposure the alpha 2 lamellae decomposed to gamma phase by a mechanism that can involve the formation of thin gamma lamellae within the original alpha 2 lamellae.M. H.
