Physical Layer Security with Its Applications in 5GNetworks: A Review显示文摘5G network is expected to support massive user connections and exponentially increasing wireless services, which makes network security unprecedentedly important.Unlike traditional security-guaranteeing techniques which rely heavily on cryptographic approaches at upper layers of the protocol stack,physical-layer security(PLS) solutions fully take advantages of the characteristics of wireless channels to degrade the received signal qualities at the malicious users, and realize keyless secure transmission via signal design and signal processing techniques.PLS avoids the difficulties in the distribution and management of secret keys, and provides flexible security levels through adaptive transmission protocol design. Moreover,PLS techniques match the features of 5G networks well. Therefore, the application of PLS to 5G networks is a promising solution to address the security threats. This article presents a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art PLS techniques, and discusses their applications in 5G networks. We first summarize the principle and advantages of PLS techniques, and point out the reasons why PLS is suitable for 5G networks. Then,we review the existing PLS methods in literature, and highlight severalPLS solutions that are expected to be applied in 5G networks. Finally,we conclude this article and figure out some further research directions.Li Sun Qinghe Du 2017China Communications2017,14,12:7
A Tractable Approach to Analyzing the Physical-Layer Security in K-Tier Heterogeneous Cellular Networks显示文摘This study proposes a tractable approach to analyze the physical-layer security in the downlink of a multi-tier heterogeneous cellular network. This method is based on stochastic geometry, has low computational complexity, and uses the two-dimensional Poisson point process to model the locations of K-tier base stations and receivers, including those of legitimate users and eavesdroppers. Then, the achievable secrecy rates for an arbitrary user are determined and the upper and lower bounds of secrecy coverage probability derived on the condition that cross-tier interference is the main contributor to aggregate interference. Finally, our analysis results reveal the innate connections between information-theoretic security and the spatial densities of legitimate and malicious nodes.ZHONG Zhihao PENG Janhua LUO Wenyu HUANG Kaizhi 2015China Communications2015,12,S1:6
The Full-Duplex Artificial Noise Scheme for Security of a Cellular System显示文摘This paper focuses on the problem of secure transmission in a cellular system. A full-duplex base station using artificial noise is adopted to improve both the uplink and downlink secrecy rate via pairing terminals which reverses the downlink and uplink of each other. We give the designs of artificial noise and the user's desired signal, and derive the pairing prin-ciple between terminals. Moreover, the influence of self-interference cancellation on secrecy rate is ex-plored. Simulation results show that the secrecy rate can get much better performance by adopting full-duplex artificial noise scheme and proposed pair-ing method. The downlink secrecy rate decreases with the distance between terminals. Besides the uplink secrecy rate is sensitive to the ability of self-interference cancellation.JI Xinsheng KANG Xiaolei HUANG Kaizhi LI Na YI Ming 2015China Communications2015,12,S1:4
Dual-Threshold Based Secure On-Off Transmission Scheme for Dense HCNs with Imperfect CSI显示文摘In this paper, we propose a dual-threshold based secure On-Off transmission scheme, where signals are transmitted only if the channel condition can guarantee secure and reliable communication. First, we present a dynamic access strategy to increase access efficiency, which provides an access region for the intended user. Then, we propose an emission control policy to transmit signals according to the current channel condition, which declines the influence of channel estimation errors and guarantees qualities of communication links. Furthermore, we give a comprehensive performance analysis for the proposed scheme in terms of connection outage probability(COP) and secrecy outage probability(SOP), and present a dual-threshold optimization model to further support the performance. Numerical results verify that the secure On-Off transmission scheme can increase the system secure energy efficiency and guarantee reliable and secure communication.Yunjia Xu Kaizhi Huang Yi Zou Xin Hu 2019China Communications2019,16,3:3
On proactive eavesdropping using anti-relay-selection jamming in multi-relay communication systems显示文摘This paper considers a multi-relay legitimate surveillance system, where a suspicious link may transmit illegal information with the help of relays and a legitimate monitor aims at intercepting the information. We assume that the relay selection method is adopted by the suspicious link to improve the efficiency of the information transmission. We propose anti-relay-selection(ARS) jamming strategies for two different information transmission scenarios, namely the event-based information and content-based information. Beamforming vector of jamming is optimized and the iterative algorithms are used to improve the jamming efficiency. We demonstrate the effectiveness and the superiority of the ARS jamming strategies through numerical results and simulations.Yingdong HU Ruifeng GAO Ye LI Shibing ZHANG 2019Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,4:2
Achievable Secrecy Rate Region of Two-Way Communication with Secret Key Feedback显示文摘This paper investigates the achievable secrecy rate region of the Gaussian two-way wiretap channel, which describes the simultaneous secure two-way transmission of a confidential message. Through adjusting the time-sharing factor and the rate at which the random secret key is fed back, the allocation and optimization for the secrecy rates of two-way communication are achieved. Under peak and average power constraints, the achievable secrecy rate regions of the two-way communication are derived respectively.Tao Li Shidong Zhou 2018Tsinghua Science and Technology2018,23,2:1
Secure Beamforming Design for SWIPT in MISO Full-Duplex Systems显示文摘This paper investigates the problem of bi-directional secure information exchange for a multiple-input single-output(MISO)broadcast channel in presence of potential and external eavesdroppers capable of decoding the confidential messages.Specifically,a multi-antenna base station(BS)simultaneously sends wireless information and power to a set of dual-antenna mobile stations(MSs)using power splitters(PSs)in the downlink and receives information in the uplink in full-duplex(FD)mode.We address the joint design of the receiver PS ratio and the transmit power at the MSs,the artificial noise covariance, and the beamforming matrix at the BS in order to guarantee the individual secrecy rate and energy harvesting constraints at each receiver, and the signal-tointerference plus noise ratio(SINR)at the BS and MSs.Using semidefinite relaxation(SDR)technique,we obtain solution to the problem with imperfect channel state information(CSI)of the self-interfering channels.Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of our proposed scheme.Alexander A.Okandeji Muhammad R.A.Khandaker WONG Kai-Kit ZHANG Yangyang ZHENG Zhongbin 2018ZTE Communications2018,16,1:1
Artificial Noise Aided Polar Codes for Physical LayerSecurity显示文摘The secrecy rates of the existing practical secrecy coding methods are relative low to satisfy the security requirement of 5 G communications. We propose an artificial noise(AN) aided polar coding algorithm to improve the secrecy rate.Firstly,a secrecy coding model based on AN is presented, where the confidential bits of last transmission code block are adopted as AN to inject into the current codeword. In this way,the AN can only be eliminated from the jammed codeword by the legitimate users.Since the AN is shorter than the codeword,we then develop a suboptimal jamming positions selecting algorithm with the goal of maximizing the bit error rate of the eavesdropper.Theoretical and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the random selection method and the method without AN.Huiqing Bai Liang Jin Ming Yi 2017China Communications2017,14,12:1
Secure Transmission Scheme Based on Dual-Thresholds for Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer显示文摘This paper studies a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer system with multiple external eavesdroppers and internal curious users. We model the random network by Poisson cluster process in consideration of the case where eavesdroppers hide around certain targets.Focusing on the users that work in harvesting-transmitting mode with time switching receivers,we establish communication model via time division multiple access. On this basis,we propose a lightweight secure transmission scheme based on dual-thresholds for physical-layer security enhancement, which consists of two protocols applied to the downlink(DL) and uplink(UL) transmission respectively. In the DL,we design a dynamic information-power switching transmission protocol based on signal-to-noise ratio threshold, which provides an opportunistic approach to reform the fixed period allocation of information and power transfer;in the UL,an energy threshold is proposed for users to control the transmission, which is called a user-led on-off transmission protocol.Furthermore,we give a comprehensive performance analysis for the proposed scheme in terms of delay, reliability, security and secrecy throughput.Based on the analysis results,we optimize the two thresholds and the DL-UL allocationcoefficient to maximize the secrecy throughput.Simulation results show the proposed scheme can bring about a substantial secrecy gain.Xin Hu Kaizhi Huang Yajun Chen Liang Jin Yunjia Xu 2017China Communications2017,14,12:1
Secure Power and Subcarrier Auction in Uplink FullDuplex Cellular Networks显示文摘We consider a cellular network with a full-duplex base station, multiple uplink users and an eavesdropper. The full-duplex base station transmits jamming signals to degrade the eavesdropper channel when receiving secure multi-user signals. To maximize the secrecy rate of uplink communications, we propose a distributed ascending-clock auction(ACA) algorithm to allocate subcarriers and jamming power. Specifically, the impact of the self-interference of the full-duplex base station on the secrecy rate is considered. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts. Firstly, subcarriers and the jamming power are respectively priced by the base station. Secondly, users select the subcarrier and the jamming power based on the price. Moreover, the convergence of the proposed auction algorithm is mathematically proved. Simulation results show that the proposed auction algorithm is more beneficial to improve the uplink secrecy performance compared to traditional auction algorithms.LI Mingliang GUO Yunfei HUANG Kaizhi GUO Fei 2015China Communications2015,12,S1:1
Behavior Prediction of Untrusted Relays Based on Nonzero-Sum Game显示文摘To keep the secrecy performance from being badly influenced by untrusted relay(UR), a multi-UR network through amplify-and-forward(AF) cooperative scheme is put forward, which takes relay weight and harmful factor into account. A nonzero-sum game is established to capture the interaction among URs and detection strategies. Secrecy capacity is investigated as game payoff to indicate the untrusted behaviors of the relays. The maximum probabilities of the behaviors of relay and the optimal system detection strategy can be obtained by using the proposed algorithm.付晓梅 吴晓 汪清 2015Transactions of Tianjin University2015,21,4:0
High efficiency Polar coding key reconciliation scheme in wireless channel显示文摘Recently, physical layer security in wireless communication system attracts much attention, and the reconciliation protocol plays an important role in the final secure key distillation, since the secret keys extracted from the realistic characteristics of the wireless channel may not be the same between the transmitter and legitimate receiver. A high efficiency Polar coding key reconciliation scheme is proposed in the paper to correct these errors. In the scheme, the transmitter generates a random stream with the known frozen bits and positions. After that, the transmitter encodes the random bit stream to a code stream by Polar encoding and sends the corrupted version of the code stream and the secret keys to the legitimate receiver. The receiver decodes the received stream with Polar successive cancellation decoding algorithm. With Polar encoding, the receiver obtains a random bit stream, and achieves the final secure key by XOR operator. The results show that the proposed scheme has a higher efficiency and a lower computational complexity, along with a high success rate. The consistency of the keys is very good after the reconciliation.Zhang Xiaotian Zhao Shengmei 2019The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2019,26,3:0
Secure Spectral-Energy Efficiency Tradeoff in RandomCognitive Relay Networks显示文摘Spectral efficiency(SE) and energy efficiency(EE) in secure communications is of primary importance due to the fact that 5 G wireless networks aim to achieve high throughput, low power consumption and high level of security.Nevertheless, maximizing SE and EE are not achievable simultaneously. In this paper,we investigate the SE and EE tradeoff for secure transmission in cognitive relay networks where all nodes are randomly distributed. We first introduce the opportunistic relay selection policy, where each primary transmitter communicates with the primary receiver with the help of a secondary user as a relay. Then,we evaluate the secure SE and secure EE of the primary network based on the outage probabilities analysis.Thirdly,by applying a unified SE-EE tradeoff metric, the secure SE and EE tradeoff problem is formulated as the joint secure SE and EE maximization problem.Considering the non-concave feature of the objective function,an iterative algorithm is proposed to improve secure SE and EE tradeoff.Numerical results show that the opportunistic relay selection policy is always superior to random relay selection policy.Furthermore, the opportunistic relay selection policy outperforms conventional direct transmission policy when faced with small security threat(i.e.,for smaller eavesdropper density).Bing Wang Kaizhi Huang Xiaoming Xu Yi Wang 2017China Communications2017,14,12:0
