1VISUALIZATION OF TURBULENT REACTIVE JET BY USING DIRECT NUMERICAL SIMULATION显示文摘Direct numerical simulation(DNS)of turbulent planar jet with a second-order chemical reaction(A+B→R)is performed to investigate the processes of mixing and chemical reactions in spatially developing turbulent free shear flows.Reactant A is premixed into the jet flow,and reactant B is premixed into the ambient flow.DNS is performed at three different Damk¨ohler numbers(Da=0.1,1,and 10).Damk¨ohler number is a ratio of a time scale of a flow to that of chemical reactions,and in this study,the large Da means a fast chemical reaction,and the small Da means a slow chemical reaction.The visualization of velocity field shows that the jet flow is developed by entraining the ambient fluid.The visualization of concentration of reactant A shows that concentration of reactant A for Da=1 and 10 becomes very small in the downstream region because the chemical reaction consumes the reactants and reactant A is diffused with the jet development.By comparison of the profiles of chemical reaction rate and concentration of product R,it is found that product R for Da=10 is produced by the chemical reaction at the interface between the jet and the ambient fluids and is diffused into the jet flow,whereas product R for Da=0.1 is produced in the jet flow after reactants A and B are well mixed.TOMOAKI WATANABE YASUHIKO SAKAI KOUJI NAGATA OSAMU TERASHIMA HIROKI SUZUKI TOSHIYUKI HAYASE YASUMASA ITO 2013International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2013,4,S01:2
2Unsupervised method of clustering and labeling of the online product based on reviews显示文摘This paper presents an unsupervised approach to cluster reviews of products collected from Amazon and then generates its labels of each cluster.Instead of using a complete review,this paper splits a review into sentences and considers all sentences from the reviews as inputs for Clustering.Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering(HAC)is used to cluster sentences.The approaches of cluster labeling are also unsupervised.For labeling,three different methods have been used to find a limited number of essential words for each cluster.Extracted essential words are used to construct phrases.Constructed phrases are used as labels for each cluster.This paper compares the result of the labeling method with baseline labeling.In the result evaluation,all the labeling methods outperform the baseline method.The aim of this research is cluster labeling that makes a set of labels to describe a cluster content and distinguishes the labels from other cluster labels.Md Masum Billah Mohammad Nuruzzaman Bhuiyan Md.Akterujjaman 2021International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2021,12,2:2

4Agent-based dynamic simulation of an electricity market with multilateral bidding显示文摘The electricity market is a complex system in which participants interact and compete with each other,which makes description of them with mathematical models difficult.To solve these difficulties,computer simulation has become one of the main methods for studying electricity market problems.How to establish a reasonable electricity market has always been a major research issue in the electric power industry,for which a key point is the bidding mechanism.Agent-based modeling and a simulation(ABMS)method are used in this paper to study the imperfect competitive electricity market.An agent-based simulation method of multilateral bargaining game theory in the dynamics of the power bidding market is presented,and a multi-agent power market bidding dynamics simulation model based on game theory is established.The dynamic bidding game behavior among the government,power grid companies,power plant companies,and consumer parties is simulated in the market,and the simulation method is realized by Anylogic software.Finally,an agent-based four-party competitive dynamic game simulation in the electricity market is implemented,which provides a theoretical reference for further understanding resource optimization problems in the electricity market.Jiahui Wu Jidong Wang Yuanyuan Yan 2019International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2019,10,3:1
5Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for construction risk analysis in urban subway显示文摘On the basis of expert questionnaire and the relevant specification,multi-factors influencing weight matrix was constructed by Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)improved in transfer matrix algorithm,and influential factors were fuzzy classified to construct the fuzzy evaluation matrix by using trapezoidal fuzzy membership function.Fuzzy evaluation analysis was carried out through multistage fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,and verified in combination with engineering construction condition of shallow buried tunnel with large span of Zhongshan Park Station in Qingdao Metro,and four kinds of risk control schemes were established and compared on the analysis of tunnel construction risk.Results show that the model was feasible and the improved construction scheme was very effective to reduce the construction risk.Chun-Quan Dai Zeng-Hui Zhao 2015International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2015,6,3:1

7Hybrid intelligent modeling approach for online predicting and simulating surface temperature of HVs显示文摘Online prediction as well as online simulation of surface temperature will play a sig-nificant role in flight safety of future near space hypersonic vehicles(HVs).But it still remains a classical scientific problem both in thermodynamics and aerospace sci-ence.In view of the complex HV structure and complex heat conduction procedure,three-dimensional numerical simulation is too inefficient for online prediction,while cur-rent rapid computation methods cannot meet the requirement of accuracy.Therefore,a hybrid intelligent dynamic modeling approach is proposed to estimate the surface temperature of HV with the combination of mechanism equations,test data and intel-ligent modeling technology.A simplified model based on a mechanism equation and experimental formulas is presented for predicting or simulating transient heat conduc-tion procedure efficiently,while a case-based reasoning(CBR)algorithm is developed to estimate two uncertain coefficients in the simplified model.Furthermore,a support vector regression(SVR)-based model is developed to compensate the modeling error.With the data both from high-precision finite element computation and from real-world HV thermal protection experiments,a number of comparative simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid intelligent modeling approach.Ming Tie Hong Fang Jianlin Wang Weihua Chen 2022International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2022,13,2:1

10An analytical solution of multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients显示文摘In this paper,we have considered the multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients.The fractional operators(derivative/integral)are used based on the Caputo definition.This study provides an analytical approach to determine the analytical solution of the considered problems with the help of the two-step Adomian decomposition method(TSADM).Moreover,new results have been obtained for the existence and uniqueness of a solution by using the Banach contraction principle and a fixed point theorem.We have extended the dimension of the space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients into multi-dimensions.Finally,the generalized problems with two different types of the forcing term have been included demonstrating the applicability and high efficiency of the TSADM in comparison to other existing numerical methods.The diffusion coefficients do not require to satisfy any certain conditions/restrictions for using the TSADM.There are no restrictions imposed on the problems for diffusion coefficients,and a similar procedures of the TSADM has followed to the obtained analytical solution for the multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients.Pratibha Verma Manoj Kumar 2021International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2021,12,1:1
11Modeling of a distillation column based on NARMAX and Hammerstein models显示文摘The modeling of distillation column process is a very challenging problem because of the complex dynamic behavior.This paper investigates a Nonlinear Autoregressive Moving Average with eXogenous input(NARMAX)model,and a Hammerstein model to approximate the evolution of the overhead temperature in a separation system.The model development and validation are studied through experiments carried out on a distillation plant of laboratory scale.Three model order selection criteria such as Aikeke’s Information Criterion(AIC),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Nash–Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE)are used to evaluate the prediction performance of the process behavior.The results illustrate that both models produce acceptable predictions but the NARMAX model outperforms the Hammerstein model.Lakhdar Aggoune Yahya Chetouani 2017International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2017,8,3:1
12GenMuNN: A mutation-based approach to repair deep neural network models显示文摘Deep neural network(DNN)models have been widely used in e-commerce,games,auto-mobiles,manufacturing,and so on.Improper structure,parameters,activation function,or incorrect loss function of the DNN models may cause defects in performance or secu-rity.As a result,there are some researches that focus on repairing DNN such as MODE and Apricot.However,the cost of repairing is high or the repair may lead to overfit-ting.In order to solve this problem,we propose GenMuNN,which is a Mutation-Based Approach to Repair Deep Neural Network Models.First,it analyzes the importance of the weights of the neurons in each layer of the DNN model to the correctness of the final prediction results,and ranks the weights according to the influence on the prediction results of the DNN model.Second,mutation is performed to generate mutants based on the rank of weights,and genetic algorithms are used to select mutants for the next round of mutation until the stop condition is touched.Experiments are carried on a set of DNN models which are trained with the MNIST dataset.The experimental results show that GenMuNN can improve the accuracy of the DNN models.Huanhuan Wu Zheng Li Zhanqi Cui Jianbin Liu 2022International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2022,13,2:1
13Prediction of diabetes and hypertension using multi-layer perceptron neural networks显示文摘Background:Diabetes and hypertension are two of the commonest diseases in the world.As they unfavorably affect people of different age groups,they have become a cause of concern and must be predicted and diagnosed well in advance.Objective:This research aims to determine the effectiveness of artificial neural networks(ANNs)in predicting diabetes and blood pressure diseases and to point out the factors which have a high impact on these diseases.Sample:This work used two online datasets which consist of data collected from 768 individuals.We applied neural network algorithms to predict if the individuals have those two diseases based on some factors.Diabetes prediction is based on five factors:age,weight,fat-ratio,glucose,and insulin,while blood pressure prediction is based on six factors:age,weight,fat-ratio,blood pressure,alcohol,and smoking.Method:A model based on the Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network(MLP)was implemented.The inputs of the network were the factors for each disease,while the output was the prediction of the disease’s occurrence.The model performance was compared with other classifiers such as Support Vector Machine(SVM)and K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN).We used performance metrics measures to assess the accuracy and performance of MLP.Also,a tool was implemented to help diagnose the diseases and to understand the results.Result:The model predicted the two diseases with correct classification rate(CCR)of 77.6%for diabetes and 68.7%for hypertension.The results indicate that MLP correctly predicts the probability of being diseased or not,and the performance can be significantly increased compared with both SVM and KNN.This shows MLPs effectiveness in early disease prediction.Hani Bani-Salameh Shadi MAlkhatib Moawyiah Abdalla Mo’taz Al-Hami Ruaa Banat Hala Zyod Ahed J Alkhatib 2021International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2021,12,2:1
14Experimental and finite element analysis on determining the fatigue life of pb-free solder joint(Sn-0.5Cu-3Bi-1Ag)used in electronic packages under harmonic loads显示文摘Electronic packages that are used these days are exposed to different types of vibration loadings in their usage environment.This vibration exposure can be categorized as harmonic and random vibrations.When reliability assessment of modern electronic systems is considered,vibration loading has an important role to play.One of the biggest challenges facing today is the accurate and rapid assessment of fatigue life under the vibration loading.Conventional solder joints were made of lead-tin alloy.According to many environment legislations and rules,lead is prohibited as an ingredient in the solder alloy.The reason for the prohibition of the usage of the lead is that it poisons the environment.In this study,Sn-0.5Cu-3Bi-1Ag is used as the lead-free solder alloy.Fatigue life prediction of electronic package containing SAC405 is conducted with the aid of vibration testing and Finite element analysis under harmonic vibration loading.A specially designed Plastic Ball Grid Array Package(PBGA)component is mounted on Printed Circuit Board(PCB).It is taken as a test vehicle for the vibration test.The test vehicle is excited by a sinusoidal vibration.The frequency of this excitation equals the fundamental frequency of the test vehicle and it is continued till the component fails.Since the solder balls are very small for direct measurement,Finite Element analysis(FEA)is used for noting down the stresses.The stress versus failures cycles(S-N)curve is made by relating both the stresses on the solder balls obtained and the number of failure cycles from vibration analysis.The fatigue life of the component can be estimated from the generated S-N curve.It is analyzed that the methodology is effective in predicting the component’s life.Hence,the reliability of electronic package can be improved.Jayesh S Jacob Elias 2020International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2020,11,3:1

19Particle swarm optimization with variable neighborhood search for multiobjective flexible job shop scheduling problem显示文摘The simulation on benchmarks is a very simple and efficient method to evaluate the performance of the algorithm for solving flexible job shop scheduling model.Due to the assignment and scheduling decisions,flexible job shop scheduling problem(FJSP)becomes extremely hard to solve for production management.A discrete multi-objective particle swarm optimization(PSO)and simulated annealing(SA)algorithm with variable neighborhood search is developed for FJSP with three criteria:the makespan,the total workload and the critical machine workload.Firstly,a discrete PSO is designed and then SA algorithm performs variable neighborhood search integrating two neighborhoods on public critical block to enhance the search ability.Finally,the selection strategy of the personal-best individual and global-best individual from the external archive is developed in multi-objective optimization.Through the experimental simulation on matlab,the tests on Kacem instances,Brdata instances and BCdata instances show that the modified discrete multi-objective PSO algorithm is a promising and valid method for optimizing FJSP with three criteria.Song Huang Na Tian Zhicheng Ji 2016International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2016,7,3:1
