1A precise model of LED lighting and its application in uniform illumination system显示文摘Optical models directly effect the irradiance distribution of observed surface. Traditionally, approximate Lambertian models are widely used in designing the light-emitting diodes (LED) arrays in spite of their errors compared with the experimental data. But now a novel LED optical model for uniform illumination system has been proposed, in which the curvefitting technique is used to reduce the inherited errors and modify those previous models. The points from the curve of the LED light intensity are adopted, and a spline curve is designed for fitting, which obtains the revised mode. To verify its feasibility, we apply the new model in a 4×4 array design. The results show that compared with the approximate Lambertian, the light intensity distribution produced by the fitting model is more uniform and intense, as is expected.吴逢铁 黄启禄 2011Optoelectronics Letters2011,7,5:21
2Study on the spectral response of fiber Bragg grating sensor under non-uniform strain distribution in structural health monitoring显示文摘Many theoretical studies have been developed to study the spectral response of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) under non-uniform strain distribution along the length of FBG in recent years. However, almost no experiments were designed to obtain the evolution of the spectrum when a FBG is subjected to non-uniform strain. In this paper, the spectral responses of a FBG under non-uniform strain distributions are given and a numerical simulation based on the Runge-Kutta method is introduced to investigate the responses of the FBG under some typical non-uniform transverse strain fields, including both linear strain gradient and quadratic strain field. Experiment is carried out by using loads applied at different locations near the FBG. 3A fiber Bragg grating current sensor with temperature compensation显示文摘A novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) current sensor with temperature compensation has been proposed. The fiber Bragg grating is glued on the surface of an isosceles triangle cantilever beam,which has a step thickness along the beam axis. Due to the electromagnetic force created by a solenoid and a permanent magnet mounted on the top of the beam,a step strain is applied on the fiber Bragg grating. The change of the electric current in the solenoid makes the spectrum of the fiber Bragg grating split. By monitoring the shift difference of the two split center wavelengths,which is related to the electric current in the solenoid,a current sensor with temperature compensation is obtained. The test range of 0-400 mA is achieved. The experimental results also show that the relationship between the shift difference of the two split center wavelengths of the FBG and the electric current has a linearity of 0.9937,and the sensitivity is about 2.64 nm/A; the test results are independent of the temperature,so the cross sensitive problem is solved.田飞飞 丛嘉伟 恽斌峰 崔一平 2009Optoelectronics Letters2009,5,5:19
4Thermal simulation and optimization design on a high-power LED spot lamp显示文摘In this paper, thermal characteristics of the high-power LED spot lamp are reported. The emphasis is placed upon optimizing design of the heat sink of LED spot lamp using the optimization module and the orthogonal-experiment method. Results demonstrate that the weight of the heat sink is decreased to 46.1% of that for the initial structure, and the influence of each factor on junction temperature and weight of the heat sink is acquired by range analysis. Finally, the influence of ambient temperature and natural convection coefficient on the LED maximum temperature is analyzed. 5Simultaneous sensing of displacement and temperature with a single FBG显示文摘A novel fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensor with simultaneous sensing of displacement and temperature is presented.The FBG is affixed on the cantilever inclinedly.The midpoint of FBG exactly coincides with the zero strain layer of a rectangular beam.The vertical displacement can be measured by the broadened bandwidth of FBG as the bandwidth is insensitive to temperature,while the temperature can be measured by the center wavelength shift as the wavelength shift is insensitive to vertical displacement.With 0.1 nm spectral resolution of the analyzer,sensitivities of bandwidth-displacement and center wavelength-temperature are 0.48 nm/mm and 0.05 nm/℃,resolutions are 0.2 mm and 2.0 ℃,and sensing ranges of displacement and temperature are up to 8.5 mm and 45℃ respectively.Experimental results match theoretical analyses very well.尉婷 乔学光 贾振安 2011Optoelectronics Letters2011,7,1:14
6Performance study of an OFDM visible light communication system based on white LED array显示文摘By introducing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology, a visible light communication (VLC) system using a 5x5 white LED array is studied in this paper. The OFDM transmitter and receiver are modeled through MATLAB/Simulink tool. The electrical-optical-electrical (EOE) response of the VLC channel, which is also the response of the detector, is derived based on Lambert's lighting model. Then the modeling on the overall OFDM/VLC system is established by combining the above three models together. The effects of the factors which include the digital modulation, Reed-Solomon (RS) coding, pilot form, pilot ratio (PR) and communication distance on the bit error rate (BER) of the system are discussed. The results show that through the use of RS coding, block pilot, quadrate phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation and a suitable pilot ratio about 1/3, under the communication rate about 550 kbit/s, the BER can be dropped to below 10-5, and the communication distance can reach 0.9 m.田崇文 李艳婷 叶玮琳 全相印 宋占伟 郑传涛 2011Optoelectronics Letters2011,7,6:13
7Simultaneous measurement of temperature and refractive index based on a core-offset Mach-Zehnder interferometer cascaded with a long-period fiber grating显示文摘An all-fiber sensor based on a cascaded optical fiber device is proposed and demonstrated, and its sensor head is composed of a core-offset Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI) and a long-period fiber grating(LPFG). In the experiment, two dips shaped by the intermodulation between the interference fringe of MZI and the resonant wavelength of LPFG are monitored. Experimental results show that temperature sensitivities of two dips are 0.060 7 nm/°C and 0.056 3 pm/°C, and the refractive index(RI) sensitivities are –18.025 nm/RIU and –55.06 nm/RIU, respectively. The simultaneous measurement of the temperature and external RI is demonstrated based on the sensitive matrix. 8Study on local temperature characteristics of fiber Bragg gratings显示文摘The characteristics of fiber Bragg gratings(FBG) at local temperature are investigated based on the transfer matrix method.The reflective spectrum model of the FBG at local temperature is analyzed by theoretics and simulations.The results show that when a small section of the FBG is affected by the temperature variation,the reflective spectrum splits into two main peaks.The wavelength of the splitting point shifts linearly and periodically with the local temperature on the FBG.An experiment is also presented,and its results are agreement with the simulations.吴飞 赵静 刘彬 张颖 2010Optoelectronics Letters2010,6,2:12
9FBG-based ultrasonic wave detection and acoustic emission linear location system显示文摘The ultrasonic (US) wave detection and an acoustic emission (AE) linear location system are proposed, which employ fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) as US wave sensors. In the theoretical analysis, the FBG sensor response to longitudinal US wave is investigated. The result indicates that the FBG wavelength can be modulated as static case when the grating length is much shorter than US wavelength. The experimental results of standard sinusoidal and spindle wave test agree well with the generated signal. Further research using two FBGs for realizing linear location is also achieved. The maximum linear location error is obtained as less than 5 mm. 10Diagnostic techniques for photonic materials based on Raman and Brillouin spectroscopies显示文摘The elastic and vibrational properties of a material,bulk or planar waveguide,are studied by Brillouin and Raman spectroscopy to follow the process of nanocrystals growth in glass-ceramics. The nanoparticles cause the appearance,in the low fre-quency Raman spectrum,of characteristic peaks,whose position depends on the size of the crystals. At the same time,sharp crystal peaks,due to optical phonons,appear in the Raman spectra,allowing the determination of the nucleated phase,and a frequency shift of the Brillouin peaks is observed.M. 11Distributed optical fiber vibration sensing system based on polarization detection显示文摘A novel distributed optical fiber vibration sensing system based on polarization detection is proposed and demonstrated. A Faraday rotator mirror is employed at the end of the system, which eliminates the slow polarization variation of signal light and only responses to rapid polarization change caused by external vibration interference. Based on the sensing signal characteristics, the location of polarization disturbance point can be detected accurately. 12Method of infrared image enhancement based on histogram显示文摘Aiming at the problem in infrared image enhancement,a new method is given based on histogram.Using the gray characteristics of target,the upper-bound threshold is selected adaptively and the histogram is processed by the threshold.After choosing the gray transform function based on the gray level distribution of image,the gray transformation is done during histogram equalization.Finally,the enhanced image is obtained.Compared with histogram equalization(HE),histogram double equalization(HDE) and plateau histogram equalization(PE),the simulation results demonstrate that the image enhancement effect of this method has obvious superiority.At the same time,its operation speed is fast and real-time ability is excellent.王亮 闫杰 2011Optoelectronics Letters2011,7,3:11
13Accurate calculation and Matlab based fast realization of merit function's Hesse matrix for the design of multilayer optical coating显示文摘To improve the current status of home multilayer optical coating design with low speed and poor efficiency when a large layer number occurs,the accurate calculation and fast realization of merit function's gradient and Hesse matrix is pointed out. Based on the matrix method to calculate the spectral properties of multilayer optical coating,an analytic model is established theoretically. And the corresponding accurate and fast computation is successfully achieved by programming with Matlab. Theoretical and simulated results indicate that this model is mathematically strict and accurate,and its maximal precision can reach floating-point operations in the computer,with short time and fast speed. Thus it is very suitable to improve the optimal search speed and efficiency of local optimization methods based on the derivatives of merit function. 14Hadamard precoding for PAPR reduction in optical direct detection OFDM systems显示文摘The high peak-to-average power ration (PAPR) values of optical orthogond frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal limit the system nonlinear tolerance (NLT). In this paper, a novel method based on Hadamard precoding is proposed to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio in optical direct detection OFDM system. The proposed scheme is successfully applied to an experimental system of optical direct-detection OFDM signal transmission through fiber. In this experiment, the 2.5 Gbit/s binary phase shift keying (BPSK) optical OFDM signals with Hadamard precoding are generated and transmitted though a single mode fiber. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can reduce PAPR by almost 1.5 dB. 15Ship detection in optical remote sensing image based on visual saliency and AdaBoost classifier显示文摘In this paper, firstly, target candidate regions are extracted by combining maximum symmetric surround saliency detection algorithm with a cellular automata dynamic evolution model. Secondly, an eigenvector independent of the ship target size is constructed by combining the shape feature with ship histogram of oriented gradient(S-HOG) feature, and the target can be recognized by Ada Boost classifier. 16Fast detection of multi-circle with randomized Hough transform显示文摘Randomized Hough transform (RHT) is an effective method for circle detection. But when dealing with multi-circle complex images,the random sampling will bring lots of invalid accumulations and result in a large number of calculations. In this paper,by selecting three points of the candidate circle,a fast detection algorithm of multi-circle with randomized Hough transform is presented. 17Investigation of top-emitting OLEDs using molybdenum oxide as anode buffer layer显示文摘A high-effective bottom anode is essential for high-performance top-emitting organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). In this paper, Ag-based top-emitting OLEDs are investigated. Ag has the highest reflectivity for visible light among all metals, yet its hole-injection properties are not ideal for anodes of top-emitting OLED. The performance of the devices is significantly improved using the molybdenum oxide as anode buffer layer at the surface of Ag. 18Low-light image enhancement based on Retinex theory and dual-tree complex wavelet transform显示文摘In order to enhance the contrast of low-light images and reduce noise in them, we propose an image enhancement method based on Retinex theory and dual-tree complex wavelet transform(DT-CWT). The method first converts an image from the RGB color space to the HSV color space and decomposes the V-channel by dual-tree complex wavelet transform. Next, an improved local adaptive tone mapping method is applied to process the low frequency components of the image, and a soft threshold denoising algorithm is used to denoise the high frequency components of the image. Then, the V-channel is rebuilt and the contrast is adjusted using white balance method. Finally, the processed image is converted back into the RGB color space as the enhanced result. 20Simultaneous measurement of refractive index, temperature and strain based on core diameter mismatch and polarization-maintaining FBG显示文摘A kind of fiber-optic sensor for simultaneous measurement of refractive index of surrounding medium, temperature and strain is described. Based on core diameter mismatch, a multimode-single mode-multimode (MSM) structure is presented. It is demonstrated that the three parameters can be measured respectively by the interference of the core mode and cladding modes excited in the single mode fiber (SMF). Then combined with a polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating (PMFBG) which has different sensing properties from MSM structure, three parameters are measured simultaneously. The experimental results show that PMFBG is insensitive to the refractive index and the refractive index sensitivity of the MSM structure is 96.04 nm·RIU^(-1); the temperature sensitivities of the characteristic wavelength for MSM structure and the center wavelengths of fast and slow axes for PMFBG are 0.0911 nm °C^(-1), 0.00976 nm °C^(-1) and 0.0105 nm °C^(-1), respectively; the strain sensitivities of those are -0.013 nm με^(-1), 0.012 nm με^(-1) and 0.012 nm με^(-1), respectively.童峥嵘 王洁玉 张卫华 曹晔 2013Optoelectronics Letters2013,9,3:9
