| 15 | Cryptic species composition and genetic diversity within Bemisia tabaci complex in soybean in India revealed by mtCOI DNA sequence显示文摘Bemisia tabaci is a cryptic species complex, causing significant loss on many agriculturally important crops worldwide. Knowledge on species composition and diversity within B. tabaci complex is critical for evolving sustainable pest management strategies. Here we investigate the whitefly species complex in soybean in major soybean growing states of India. The mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase gene subunit-1(mt COI) based phylogenetic relationships established using Bayesian methods indicated the existence of three cryptic species namely AsiaⅠ, AsiaⅡ1, and AsiaⅡ7. All the haplotypes detected in the study could be assigned to these three cryptic species following the species demarcation criteria of 3.5% divergence threshold. Of these, AsiaⅡ1 was found to be predominant with wide spread distribution across the surveyed regions from cool temperate zones to hot and humid tropical plains. On the contrary, cryptic species AsiaⅡ7 showed localized distribution. The AsiaⅡ1 exhibited the highest haplotype diversity and AsiaⅠ showed high level of nucleotide diversity. There was a significantly high genetic differentiation among these three cryptic species. The MEAM 1, a dreadful invasive species was not detected in the specimens tested in the current study. | 16 | Role of endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration/biopsy in the evaluation of intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy due to tuberculosis显示文摘BACKGROUND Intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy due to tuberculosis(TB)poses a diagnostic challenge due to difficulty in tissue acquisition.Although endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration/biopsy(EUS-FNA/B)has shown promise in the evaluation of mediastinal lymph nodes,its role in the evaluation of intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy is not clear.AIM To assess the role of EUS-FNA/B in the evaluation of intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy due to TB.METHODS This was a retrospective study where patients with intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy who underwent evaluation with EUS-FNA/B were included.TB was diagnosed if the patient had any one of the following:(1)Positive acid fast bacilli(AFB)stain/TB GeneXpert/TB-polymerase chain reaction/AFB culture of tissue sample;and(2)Positive Mantoux test and response to anti-tubercular therapy.EUS-FNA reports,clinical reports and imaging characteristics of patients were recorded for a detailed analysis of patients with TB.RESULTS A total of 149 patients underwent an EUS-FNA/B from lymph nodes(mean age 51±17 years,M:F=1.2).Benign inflammatory reactive changes were seen in 45 patients(30.2%),while 54 patients(36.2%)showed granulomatous inflammation with/without caseation.Among these,51 patients(94.4%)were confirmed to have TB as per pre-defined criteria.Patients with TB were more likely to have hypoechoic and matted nodes[40 patients(67.7%)].EUS-FNA/B was found to have a sensitivity and specificity of 86%and 93%respectively,with a diagnostic accuracy of 88%in the evaluation of intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy due to TB.CONCLUSION EUS-FNA/B has a high diagnostic yield with a good sensitivity and specificity in the evaluation of intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy due to TB.However,the validity of these findings in populations with low prevalence of TB needs further evaluation. | Harshavardhan Rao B Priya Nair S Krishna Priya Archana George Vallonthaiel Dipu T Sathyapalan Anoop K Koshy Rama P Venu | 2021 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2021,13,12: | 0 |
| 17 | Grain boundary effect on structural, optical, and electrical properties of sol-gel synthesized Fe-doped SnO_(2) nanoparticles显示文摘Tin oxide(SnO_(2)) and iron-doped tin oxide(Sn_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(2),x=0.05 wt%,0.10 wt%) nanoparticles are synthesized by the simple sol-gel method.The structural characterization using x-ray diffraction(XRD) confirms tetragonal rutile phases of the nanoparticles.The variations in lattice parameters and relative intensity with Fe-doping concentration validate the incorporation of iron into the lattice.The compressive strain present in the lattice estimated by using peak profile analysis through using Williamson-Hall plot also exhibits the influence of grain boundary formation in the lattice.The radiative recombination and quenching observed in optical characterization by using photoluminescence spectrum(PL) and the shift in the band gap estimated from UV-visible diffused reflectance spectrum corroborate the grain boundary influence.Raman spectrum and the morphological analysis by using a field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM) also indicate the formation of grain boundaries.The compositional analysis by using energy dispersive x-ray spectrum(EDAX) confirms Fe in the SnO_(2) lattice.The conductivity studies exhibit that the impendence increases with doping concentration increasing and the loss factor decreases at high frequencies with doping concentration increasing,which makes the Sn_(1-x)Fe_(x)O_(2) a potential candidate for device applications. | Archana V Lakshmi Mohan Kathirvel P Saravanakumar S | 2021 | Chinese Physics B2021,30,4: | 0 |
