| 1 | Assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice regarding oxygen therapy at emergency departments in Riyadh in 2017: A cross-sectional study显示文摘BACKGROUND: Administering oxygen therapy(OT) has an essential role in preventing/managing hypoxemia in both acute and chronic conditions. It should be adjusted to achieve the normal oxygen saturation of 94%–98% in most cases. This study aims to evaluate knowledge, attitude and practice(KAP) of nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians(EMTs) and Emergency Medical Services(EMS) physicians working at emergency departments(ED) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, a structured questionnaire was used to assess KAP related to OT of nurses, paramedics, EMTs and EMS physicians currently working at an ED of a tertiary care hospital. Knowledge and attitude were assessed using a Likert scale from 1–5, whereas practice was assessed as a yes/no categorical variable.RESULTS: A total of 444 emergency health-care workers(EHCWs) participated, of which 225(50.7%) were male, with the majority(77%) in the age group of 20–35 years. Over half of the sample were nurses(266; 59.9%). The mean score for knowledge about OT was 5.51±1.45, attitude was 26.31±3.17 and for practices 4.55±1.76. The main factors which were associated with poor KAP were workload and lack of local guidelines. The distribution of overall practice score was signifi cantly better among paramedics – nurses group and EMT – nurses group.CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that there is a gap in EHCWs' KAP, particularly regarding when to provide OT to a patient. This gap can affect patients' safety. | 9 | Emerging trends of electrocatalytic technologies for renewable hydrogen energy from seawater:Recent advances,challenges,and techno-feasible assessment显示文摘Hydrogen has been regarded as a promising renewable and green energy source to meet energy needs and attain net-zero carbon emissions.The electrolysis of seawater to make hydrogen is one of the fascinating developments of the twenty-first century.This method uses abundant and relatively inexpensive seawater,as opposed to freshwater,which is rare and can be prohibitively expensive.In recent years,significant research and advancements have been made in direct seawater electrolysis technology for hydrogen production.However,producing highly effective and efficient electrocatalysts with long-term viability under harsh corrosive conditions remains a challenging and severe topic for large-scale seawater electrolysis technology.There is still a large accomplishment gap in understanding how to improve seawater electrolysis to increase hydrogen yields and prolong stability.It is,therefore,crucial to have a condensed knowledge of the tunable and inherent interactions between various electrocatalysts,covering electrolyzer types and paying particular attention to those with high efficiency,chemical stability,and conductivity.The extensive discussion is structured into a progression from noble metals to base metal compounds such as oxides,alloys,phosphides,chalcogenides,hydroxides,and nitrides,MXene-based complexes with a concise examination of hybrid electrocatalysts.In addition,proton exchange membranes,anion exchange membranes,alkaline water electrolyzers,and high-temperature water electrolyzers were potential contributors to seawater’s electrolysis.An extensive assessment of the techno-feasibility,economic insights,and future suggestions was done to commercialize the most efficient electrocatalytic systems for hydrogen production.This review is anticipated to provide academics,environmentalists,and industrial researchers with valuable ideas for constructing and modifying seawater-based electrocatalysts. | Obaid Fahad Aldosari Ijaz Hussain Zuhair Malaibari | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5: | 1 |

| 15 | Received Power Based Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Jamming Detection and Nodes Classification Using Machine Learning显示文摘This paper presents a machine-learning method for detecting jamming UAVs and classifying nodes during jamming attacks onWireless Sensor Networks(WSNs).Jamming is a type of Denial of Service(DoS)attack and intentional interference where a malicious node transmits a high-power signal to increase noise on the receiver side to disrupt the communication channel and reduce performance significantly.To defend and prevent such attacks,the first step is to detect them.The current detection approaches use centralized techniques to detect jamming,where each node collects information and forwards it to the base station.As a result,overhead and communication costs increased.In this work,we present a jamming attack and classify nodes into different categories based on their location to the jammer by employing a single node observer.As a result,we introduced a machine learning model that uses distance ratios and power received as features to detect such attacks.Furthermore,we considered several types of jammers transmitting at different power levels to evaluate the proposed metrics using MATLAB.With a detection accuracy of 99.7%for the k-nearest neighbors(KNN)algorithm and average testing accuracy of 99.9%,the presented solution is capable of efficiently and accurately detecting jamming attacks in wireless sensor networks. | Waleed Aldosari | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,4: | 0 |
| 16 | Enhanced Perturb and Observe Control Algorithm for a Standalone Domestic Renewable Energy System显示文摘The generation of electricity,considering environmental and eco-nomic factors is one of the most important challenges of recent years.In this article,a thermoelectric generator(TEG)is proposed to use the thermal energy of an electric water heater(EWH)to generate electricity independently.To improve the energy conversion efficiency of the TEG,a fuzzy logic con-troller(FLC)-based perturb&observe(P&O)type maximum power point tracking(MPPT)control algorithm is used in this study.An EWH is one of the major electricity consuming household appliances which causes a higher electricity price for consumers.Also,a significant amount of thermal energy generated by EWH is wasted every day,especially during the winter season.In recent years,TEGs have been widely developed to convert surplus or unused thermal energy into usable electricity.In this context,the proposed model is designed to use the thermal energy stored in the EWH to generate electricity.In addition,the generated electricity can be easily stored in a battery storage system to supply electricity to various household appliances with low-power-consumption.The proposed MPPT control algorithm helps the system to quickly reach the optimal point corresponding to the maximum power output and maintains the system operating point at the maximum power output level.To validate the usefulness of the proposed scheme,a study model was developed in the MATLAB Simulink environment and its performance was investigated by simulation under steady state and transient conditions.The results of the study confirmed that the system is capable of generating adequate power from the available thermal energy of EWH.It was also found that the output power and efficiency of the system can be improved by maintaining a higher temperature difference at the input terminals of the TEG.Moreover,the real-time temperature data of Abha city in Saudi Arabia is considered to analyze the feasibility of the proposed system for practical implementation. | N.Kanagaraj Obaid Martha Aldosary M.Ramasamy M.Vijayakumar | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,37,8: | 0 |

| 19 | Depression,periodontitis,caries and missing teeth in the USA,NHANES 2009-2014显示文摘Purpose This study aimed to investigate the association between self-reported depressive symptoms and oral diseases in US adults,including periodontitis,caries,missing teeth and untreated dental caries.Design This study was designed as a secondary data analysis of a cross-sectional survey.We conducted descriptive,multivariable logistic and Poisson regression analyses on weighted data.Setting US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2009-2014 data.Participants Individuals aged≥30 years who completed a periodontal examination and depression screening(n=9799).Results 21.6%(28.9 million)of adults aged≥30 years reported depressive symptoms,with a higher prevalence among females,current smokers and participants with lower income and education status.More than half of the adults with moderate depressive symptoms had periodontal diseases,and more than one-third had teeth with untreated dental caries.After adjusting for sociodemographics,behavioural factors,having diabetes and psychotherapeutic medication use,depressive symptoms were associated with poorer oral health.Severe depressive symptoms were associated with higher odds of mild periodontitis(2.20;99%CI 1.03 to 4.66).For those with mild depressive symptoms,the mean number of missing teeth was 1.20(99%CI 1.06 to 1.37)times the average of non-symptomatic individuals;and 1.38 times(99%CI 1.15 to 1.66)among individuals with moderate depressive symptoms.Conclusions Depressive symptoms were associated with mild periodontitis and a greater number of missing teeth,while having teeth with untreated dental caries was attributed to sociodemographic factors.Awareness of oral health status among patients with depressive symptoms can inform both dental and mental health providers to develop tailored treatment and help patients achieve overall wellness. | Muath Aldosari Mohammad Helmi Erinne N Kennedy Riddhi Badamia Satomi Odani Israel Agaku Constantine Vardavas | 2020 | Family Medicine and Community Health2020,8,4: | 0 |
