EXPERIMENTAL AND FIELD STUDY ON MINING-PIT MIGRATION显示文摘Rivers are one of the most essential sources of sand and gravel supply for civil works. However, undesirable effects of irregular in-stream mining have been reported on natural sources, environment and infrastructures close to rivers. Therefore, it is necessary to find the effects of mining on rivers in more details. This research concentrates on mining-pit migration phenomenon and its effects on the channel bed. This paper reports an experimental study on the migration of rectangular mining pits and variation of longitudinal profile in the channel bed composed of rather uniform sediments. Different values of widths and lengths were used for pit while pit depths and flow variables were kept constant. The results show that the migration speed changes with the length/width ratio of the pit. The migration speed in convection period is higher than that in diffusion period. In addition, by increasing the length or width, filling rate of pit increases, where the effect of width is more important than the effect of the length. Also is reported in this paper a field study on the changes of three pits excavated at different locations of a river. Some similarities between the pit migration in the straight reach of the river and that of the experimental work is realized and presented. | S.Ali Akbar Salehi NEYSHABOURI Ali FARHADZADEH Ata AMINI | 2002 | International Journal of Sediment Research2002,17,4: | 9
Resilient Fixed-Order Distributed Dynamic Output Feedback Load Frequency Control Design for Interconnected Multi-Area Power Systems显示文摘The paper proposes a novel H∞ load frequency control(LFC) design method for multi-area power systems based on an integral-based non-fragile distributed fixed-order dynamic output feedback(DOF) tracking-regulator control scheme. To this end, we consider a nonlinear interconnected model for multiarea power systems which also include uncertainties and timevarying communication delays. The design procedure is formulated using semi-definite programming and linear matrix inequality(LMI) method. The solution of the proposed LMIs returns necessary parameters for the tracking controllers such that the impact of model uncertainty and load disturbances are minimized. The proposed controllers are capable of receiving all or part of subsystems information, whereas the outputs of each controller are local. These controllers are designed such that the resilient stability of the overall closed-loop system is guaranteed. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Simulation results quantify that the distributed(and decentralized) controlled system behaves well in presence of large parameter perturbations and random disturbances on the power system. | Ali Azarbahram Amir Amini Mahdi Sojoodi | 2019 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,5: | 3
Hydrodynamic mechanisms of aggressive collapse events in leading edge cavitation显示文摘Transient cavities generated from unsteady leading-edge cavitation may undergo aggressive collapses which are responsible for cavitation erosion. In this paper,we studied the hydrodynamic mechanisms of these events in the leading edge cavitation fonned over a modified NACA0009 hydrofoil using experimental and numerical methods. In the experimental investigation,high-speed visualization(HSV)and paint test are employed to study the behavior of the cavitating flow at σ=1.25,α=5°,U∞=20 m/s.In the numerical part, the same cavitating flow is simulated using an inviscid density-based compressible solver with a barotropic cavitation model. The numerical results are first compared with the experimental HSV to show that the simulation is able to reproduce the main features of the cavitating flow. Then,as the compressible solver is capable of capturing the shock wave upon the collapse of cavities, the location of collapse events with high erosion potential are determined. The location of these collapse events are compared with the paint test results with a qualitatively good agreement. It is clearly observed,in both the experiments and the numerical simulation, that there exists four distinct regions along the hydrofoil with higher risks of erosion:(1)A very narrow strip at the leading edge,(2)an area of accumulated collapses at around 60 percent of the sheet cavity maximum length,(3)an area around the closure line of the sheet cavity with the highest erosion damage,and(4)a wide area close to the trailing edge with dispersed collapse events.A combined analysis of the experimental and numerical results reveals that the small-scale structures generated by secondary shedding are more aggressive than the large-scale cloud cavities(primary shedding). It is also observed that the high risk of cavitation erosion in regions 2 and 3 is mainly due to the collapses of the small cavity structures that are formed around the sheet cavity closure line or the rolling cloud cavity. | Mohammad Hossein Arabnejad Ali Amini Mohamed Farhat Rickard EBensow | 2020 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2020,32,1: | 2
Effect of deep cryogenic treatment on the properties of 80CrMo12 5 tool steel显示文摘The effect of deep cryogenic treatment on the mechanical properties of 80CrMo12 5 tool steel was investigated. Moreover, the effects of stabilization (holding at room temperature for some periods before deep cryogenic treatment) and tempering before deep cryogenic treatment were studied. The results show that deep cryogenic treatment can eliminate the retained austenite, making a better carbide distribution and a higher carbide amount. As a result, a remarkable improvement in wear resistance of cryogenically treated specimens is observed. Moreover, the ultimate tensile strength increases, and the toughness of the sample decreases. It is also found that both stabilization and tempering before deep cryogenic treatment decrease the wear resistance, hardness, and carbides homogeneity compared to the deep cryogenically treated samples. It is concluded that deep cryogenic treatment should be performed without any delay on samples after quenching to reach the highest wear resistance and hardness. | Kamran Amini Said Nategh Ali Shafyei Ahmad Rezaeian | 2012 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2012,19,1: | 2
Diagenetic and Depositional Impacts on the Reservoir Quality of the Upper Jurassic Arab Formation in the Balal Oilfield, Offshore Iran显示文摘The Kimmeridgian-Tithonian aged Arab Formation, as the main reservoir of the Jurassic succession in the Balal oilfield, located in the offshore region of the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf, is investigated in this study. The formation is composed of dolomites and limestones with anhydrite interbeds. Based on detailed petrographic studies, six microfacies are recognized, which are classified in four sub-environments including supratidal, intertidal, lagoonal and the high energy shoal of a homoclinal carbonate ramp. The main diagenetic features of the studied succession include dolomitization, anhydritization, cementation, micritization, fracturing and compaction. Based on stable isotope data, dolomitization of the upper Arab carbonates is related to sabkha settings(i.e. evaporative type). In terms of sequence stratigraphy, three shallowing-upward sequences are recognized, based on core and wireline log data from four wells of the studied field. Considering depositional and diagenetic effects on the reservoir quality, the studied facies are classified into eight reservoir rock types(RRT) with distinct reservoir qualities. Dolomitization has played a major role in reservoir quality enhancement, whereas anhydritization, carbonate cementation, and compaction have damaged the pore throat network. Distribution of the recognized RRTs in time and space are discussed within the context of a sequence stratigraphic framework. | Sfidari EBRAHIM Amini ABDOLHOSSIEN Kadkhodaie ALI Sayedali MOHSEN Zamanzadeh SEYED MOHAMMAD | 2018 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2018,92,4: | 2

Cube-octameric silsesquioxane (POSS)-capped magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for the efficient removal of methylene blue显示文摘Octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was polymerized on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) and then the NPs were functionalized with carboxylic acid groups using thiol-ene click reactions with thioglycolic acid. The as-prepared Fe3O4@POSS-COOH magnetic hybrid NPs had mesoporous structures with an average particle diameter of 15 nm and a relatively high specific surface area of 447 m^2· g^-1.Experimental results showed that 4 mg of Fe3O4@POSS-COOH NPs efficiently adsorbed and removed methylene blue from water at 5 min. This is due to the presence of both carboxylic acid and pendant vinyl groups on the Fe3O4@POSS-COOH NPs.These NPs could be easily withdrawn from water within a few seconds under moderate magnetic field and showed high stability in acid and alkaline aqueous mediums. | Ali Akbari Nasser Arsalani Bagher Eftekhari-Sis Mojtaba Amini Gholamreza Gohari Esmaiel Jabbari | 2019 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2019,13,3: | 1
Object-based classification of hyperspectral data using Random Forest algorithm显示文摘This paper presents a new framework for object-based classification of high-resolution hyperspectral data. This multi-step framework is based on multi-resolution segmentation(MRS)and Random Forest classifier(RFC)algorithms. The first step is to determine of weights of the input features while using the object-based approach with MRS to processing such images.Given the high number of input features,an automatic method is needed for estimation of this parameter. Moreover,we used the Variable Importance(VI),one of the outputs of the RFC,to determine the importance of each image band. Then, based on this parameter and other required parameters, the image is segmented into some homogenous regions. Finally, the RFC is carried out based on the characteristics of segments for converting them into meaningful objects. The proposed method,as well as,the conventional pixel-based RFC and Support Vector Machine(SVM)method was applied to three different hyperspectral data-sets with various spectral and spatial characteristics. These data were acquired by the HyMap,the Airborne Prism Experiment(APEX),and the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager(CASI)hyperspectral sensors. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more consistent for land cover mapping in various areas. The overall classification accuracy(OA),obtained by the proposed method was 95.48,86.57,and 84.29%for the HyMap,the APEX,and the CASI datasets, respectively. Moreover, this method showed better efficiency in comparison to the spectralbased classifications because the OAs of the proposed method was 5.67 and 3.75%higher than the conventional RFC and SVM classifiers, respectively. | Saeid Amini Saeid Homayouni Abdolreza Safari Ali A.Darvishsefat | 2018 | Geo-Spatial Information Science2018,21,2: | 1
