2Essential oils and its antibacterial,antifungal and anti-oxidant activity applications:A review显示文摘Essential oils (EOs) seem to be more versatile and consist of a variety of volatile and organic biological active substances that are also employed as the better substitutes in the bacteria,fungal and various food sectors.Many researchers have done detailed research about the antibacterial property of essential oils and their respective inhabitants.While several pioneering works in the past have explained the mode of action of some compounds,an extensive understanding of most of the substances and their molecular mechanisms is still lacking.In particular,the bioactivity characteristics of EOs were evaluated by the main components found in these.These components were commonly utilized in the applications of bactericidal,fungicidal,medicinal and antioxidant drugs.The oils bioactivity can be contrasted with the behavior of pharmaceutical formulations which are produced synthetically.Consequently,essential oils are showing promise organic extracts that require further analysis in the nutrition or pharmaceutical companies for potential applications as supplements,additives or antibacterial.Because of their diverse activities like antifungal and antibacterial characteristics,essential oils may be utilized as alternate additives to improve the grain and seed shelf life.This review aims to provide a summary of existing information on the antibacterial and antifungal properties of EOs,their mechanism,and ingredients in identifying the areas of study that can promote the implementation in various bacterial and fungal properties.Tianyu Hou Siva Sankar Sana Huizhen Li Yun Xing Anima Nanda Vasudeva Reddy Netala Zhijun Zhang 2022Food Bioscience2022,47,3:1
3Biochemical synthesis of silver nanoprticles using filamentous fungi Penicillium decumbens (MTCC-2494) and its efficacy against A-549 lung cancer cell line显示文摘Biosynthesis of silver and other metallic nanoparticles is one of the emerging research area in the field of science and technology due to their potentiality, especially in the field of nano-biotechnology and biomedical sciences in order to develop nanomedicine. In our present study, Penicillium decumbens(MTCC-2494) was brought from Institute of Microbial Technology(IMTECH) Chandigarh and employed for extracellular biological synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Ag-NPs formation was appeared with a dark brown color inside the conical flask. Characterization of Ag-NPs were done by UV-Spectrophotometric analysis which showed absorption peak at 430 nm determines the presence of nanoparticles, Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic analysis, showed amines and amides are the possible proteins involved in the stabilization of nanoparticles as capping agent. Atomic force Microscopy(AFM) confirmed the particle are spherical, size was around 30 to 60 nm and also the roughness of nanoparticles. Field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) showed the topology of the nanoparticles and were spherical in shape. The biosynthesis process was found fast, ecofriendly and cost effective. Nano-silver particle was found to have a broad antimicrobial activity and also it showed good enhancement of antimicrobial activity of Carbenicillin, Piperacillin, Cefixime, Amoxicillin, Ofloxacin and Sparfloxacin in a synergistic mode. These Ag-NPs showed good anti-cancer activity at 80 μg·m L^(-1) upon 24 hours of incubation and toxicity increases upon 48 hours of incubation against A-549 human lung cancer cell line and the synergistic formulation of the antibiotic with the synthesized nanoparticles was found more effective against the pathogenic bacteria studied.Shahnaz Majeed Mohd Syafiq bin Abdullah Gouri Kumar Dash Mohammed Tahir Ansari Anima Nanda 2016Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2016,14,8:1
