Sitagliptin, sitagliptin and metformin,or sitagliptin and amitriptyline attenuate streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic neuropathy in rats显示文摘Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes.Symptoms of the disease include nerve palsy, mononeuropathy, mononeuropathy multiplex, diabetic amyotrophy, painful polyneuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. In this study, type 2 diabetes in rats was induced with nicotinamidestreptozotocin.Drug treatment was initiated on the d 15,with the combination regimen of metformin, pioglitazone and glimipiride or metformin and sitagliptin or sitagliptin, amitriptyline and sitagliptin and led to significantly improved glycemic control, increased grip strength and paw jumping response on d 21,28 and 35(P < 0.001).Significant increases in blood protein levels and decreases in urinary protein levels were observed in the animals treated with the different regimens on d 21,28 and 35(P < 0.001).Combined treatment of streptozotocin and nicotinamide caused marked degeneration of nerve cells, while administration of metformin and sitagliptin showed tissue regeneration and no body weight gain.In conclusion, treatment with sitagliptin and sitagliptin combined with metformin or amitriptyline results in no body weight gain, but causes an increase in grip strength and pain sensitivity, exhibits neural protection, and reverses the alteration of biochemical parameters in rats with streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetes. | Ashish Kumar Sharma Akash Sharma Rita Kumari Kunal Kishore Divya Sharma Bharthu Parthsarthi Srinivasan Ashok Sharma Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav Prashant Sharma Varnika Srivastava Sneha Joshi Megha Joshi Prashant Kumar Dhakad Davender Singh Kanawat Akanksha Mishra Anil Sharma Dharmendra Singh Ravinder Pal Singh Himmat Singh Chawda Rambir Singh Sachin Kumar Raikwar Muneem Kumar Kurmi Pankaj Khatri Ashutosh Agarwal Arshee Munajjam | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,3: | 2

Inhibition of the emergence of multi drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus by Withania somnifera root extracts显示文摘Objective:To search systematically for an alternative therapy with compounds particularly from plant origin. Methods:Efficacy test of different root extracts of Withania somnifera(W. somnifera)(L) Dunal against multi drug resistant(MDR) Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus) variants was performed following the agar well diffusion method.Evaluation of susceptibility pattern of the isolates was carried out by employing disk diffusion method using standard antibiotic disks. Results:In vitro study with W.somnifera root extracts was found to be effective against all the MDR S.aureus strains isolated from local and patient sources.Different root extracts of WS showed different degree of effectiveness against the isolates. Conclusions:The major active principles responsible for the antibacterial efficacy were mainly present in methanol(MeOH) extract and ethanol(EtOH) extracts as well as in butanol(BuOH) extract fraction.Amongst all the extracts the BuOH fraction was found to be most active against all the isolates but aqueous extract was the least active one. Finally it may be concluded that the antimicrobials from W.somnifera may raise an alternative therapy for MDR staphylococcal infections in near future. | Shuvo Datta Nishith Kumar Pal Ashoke Kumar Nandy | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,11: | 0
Prognostic value of AKT isoforms in non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Dear Editor,Lung cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world and has a high mortality rate.Lung cancer patients often have a poor prognosis, with a five-year survival rate of only about 16%.The International Agency for Research on Cancer reports that lung cancer was the main cause of cancer deaths in 2020,accounting for 1.80 million deaths. | Sahil Khurana Ajay Pal Singh Ashok Kumar Rajeev Nema | 2023 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,3: | 0
Industry 4.0 Application in Manufacturing for Real-Time Monitoring and Control显示文摘Modern manufacturing aims to reduce downtime and track process anomalies to make profitable business decisions. This ideology is strengthened by Industry 4.0,which aims to continuously monitor high-value manufacturing assets. This article builds upon the Industry 4.0 concept to improve the efficiency of manufacturing systems. The major contribution is a framework for continuous monitoring and feedback-based control in the friction stir welding(FSW)process. It consists of a CNC manufacturing machine, sensors, edge, cloud systems, and deep neural networks, all working cohesively in real time. The edge device, located near the FSW machine, consists of a neural network that receives sensory information and predicts weld quality in real time.It addresses time-critical manufacturing decisions.Cloud receives the sensory data if weld quality is poor, and a second neural network predicts the new set of welding parameters that are sent as feedback to the welding machine.Several experiments are conducted for training the neural networks. The framework successfully tracks process quality and improves the welding by controlling it in real time. The system enables faster monitoring and control achieved in less than 1 s.The framework is validated through several experiments. | Debasish Mishra Ashok Priyadarshi Sarthak M Das Sristi Shree Abhinav Gupta Surjya K Pal Debashish Chakravarty | 2022 | Journal of Dynamics, Monitoring and Diagnostics2022,1,3: | 0
MOALG: A Metaheuristic Hybrid of Multi-Objective Ant Lion Optimizer and Genetic Algorithm for Solving Design Problems显示文摘This study proposes a hybridization of two efficient algorithm’s Multi-objective Ant Lion Optimizer Algorithm(MOALO)which is a multi-objective enhanced version of the Ant Lion Optimizer Algorithm(ALO)and the Genetic Algorithm(GA).MOALO version has been employed to address those problems containing many objectives and an archive has been employed for retaining the non-dominated solutions. The uniqueness of the hybrid is that the operators like mutation and crossover of GA are employed in the archive to update the solutions and later those solutions go through the process of MOALO.A first-time hybrid of these algorithms is employed to solve multi-objective problems. The hybrid algorithm overcomes the limitation of ALO of getting caught in the local optimum and the requirement of more computational effort to converge GA.To evaluate the hybridized algorithm’s performance,a set of constrained, unconstrained test problems and engineering design problems were employed and compared with five well-known computational algorithms-MOALO,Multi-objective Crystal Structure Algorithm(MOCryStAl),Multi-objective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO),Multi-objective Multiverse Optimization Algorithm(MOMVO),Multi-objective Salp Swarm Algorithm(MSSA).The outcomes of five performance metrics are statistically analyzed and the most efficient Pareto fronts comparison has been obtained. The proposed hybrid surpasses MOALO based on the results of hypervolume(HV),Spread, and Spacing. So primary objective of developing this hybrid approach has been achieved successfully. The proposed approach demonstrates superior performance on the test functions, showcasing robust convergence and comprehensive coverage that surpasses other existing algorithms. | Rashmi Sharma Ashok Pal Nitin Mittal Lalit Kumar Sreypov Van Yunyoung Nam Mohamed Abouhawwash | 2024 | Computers, Materials & Continua2024,78,3: | 0
