1Epidemiology of lung cancer and approaches for its prediction:a systematic review and analysis显示文摘Background: Owing to the use of tobacco and the consumption of alcohol and adulterated food, worldwide cancer incidence is increasing at an alarming and frightening rate. Since the last decade of the twentieth century, lung cancer has been the most common cancer type. This study aimed to determine the global status of lung cancer and to evaluate the use of computational methods in the early detection of lung cancer.Methods: We used lung cancer data from the United Kingdom(UK), the United States(US), India, and Egypt. For statistical analysis, we used incidence and mortality as well as survival rates to better understand the critical state of lung cancer.Results: In the UK and the US, we found a significant decrease in lung cancer mortalities in the period of 1990–2014, whereas, in India and Egypt, such a decrease was not much promising. Additionally, we observed that, in the UK and the US, the survival rates of women with lung cancer were higher than those of men. We observed that the data mining and evolutionary algorithms were efficient in lung cancer detection.Conclusions: Our findings provide an inclusive understanding of the incidences, mortalities, and survival rates of lung cancer in the UK, the US, India, and Egypt. 2应力释放构造煤煤层气开发理论与关键技术研究进展显示文摘构造煤煤层气高效开发是我国煤层气资源禀赋的选择,构造煤储层与煤层气赋存特征决定了疏水降压煤层气开发理论技术不再适合构造煤储层,应力释放(原位)煤层气开发理论技术是新的技术方向,有望将构造煤煤储层从煤层气开发禁区变为新领域,同时也有望成为煤矿煤与瓦斯突出治理、煤矿区甲烷温室气体减排的治本之策。依托国家重大科研仪器研制项目,以应力释放构造煤煤层气开发关键实验平台和工程装备原理机为基本定位,以开发理论创新、技术原理探索为先导,以装置、装备及其工艺技术为研究核心,应力释放构造煤煤层气开发理论技术研究取得重要和实质性进展。探索构建了应力释放煤层气开发理论技术基础,阐明了水平井造洞穴应力释放构造煤原位煤层气开发的工程原理。水平井造洞穴应力释放构造煤原位煤层气开发模拟试验系统已完成设计进入加工阶段,系列配套基础实验取得了重要数据;探索建立了构造煤储层应力释放与煤层气解吸扩散关系模型;揭示了应力释放构造煤煤层气开发煤储层渗透率变化规律。研发形成了构造煤储层大口径水平井双向往复式钻进+多级扩孔+复杂循环钻井液成井、水平井泵注+喷射诱导控制造洞穴应力释放与储层激励、气/水/高浓度煤粉混合物直井射流泵+配套井底装置组合高效举升、产出物地面高效重力分离+回收+水循环、煤层气应力释放开发装置(装备)数据采集和控制系统等应力释放构造煤煤层气开发关键技术。桑树勋 周效志 刘世奇 王海文 曹丽文 刘会虎 李自成 朱术云 刘长江 黄华州 徐宏杰 王冉 贾金龙 ASHUTOSH Tripathy 韩思杰 2020煤炭学报2020,45,7:32
3煤层孔隙与裂隙特征研究进展显示文摘煤层孔隙与裂隙发育特征是非常规油气沉积学的重要研究内容,其研究对深入认识煤层流体赋存与传质过程微观机理、优化地质适配性开发工艺具有重要意义。煤层孔隙、裂隙成因类型复杂、尺度分布范围广、非均质性强,其发育特征是煤化作用、变质作用类型、构造演化作用、煤岩物质组成、地下流体等多因素共同作用的结果。煤化作用是其内因,构造应力作用是其主要外因,内外因作用下形成了不同煤阶、不同含煤盆地、不同构造部位煤层孔隙、裂隙发育的现今特征,而成煤物质、沉积环境、盆地埋藏史、热史等具有重要的控制作用。煤层孔隙、裂隙的研究与煤层气高效开发紧密关联,未来研究中将煤层孔隙—裂隙作为具有整体性的解吸—扩散—渗流网络加以认识更具意义,而煤层孔隙—裂隙连通网络控制的渗透率来源和有效性、纳米尺度孔隙—裂隙发育特征与结构关系、孔隙—裂隙与煤层流体之间的界面性质、多尺度孔隙—裂隙结构表征等需要进一步探讨。数字岩石物理表征技术的发展和应用为该领域的研究提供了新方法和新思路。刘世奇 王鹤 王冉 高德燚 Ashutosh Tripathy 2021沉积学报2021,39,1:17
4在过敏 bronchopulmonary 麴菌病的胸 X 光线照相术、计算的 tomographic 表明显示文摘 AIM:To investigate the chest radiographic and high resolution computed tomography(HRCT)chest manifestations in glucocorticoid-naive allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis(ABPA)patients.METHODS:This is a prospective observational study and includes 60 consecutive glucocorticoid-naive patients with ABPA who underwent chest radiography and HRCT of the chest(1.25 mm every 10 mm)in the routine diagnostic workup for ABPA.RESULTS:Chest radiographs were normal in 50%of cases.Of the remainder,most patients demonstrated permanent findings in the form of parallel line and ring shadows suggesting bronchiectasis.Consolidation was detected in 17 cases but in the majority,the corresponding HRCT chest scan showed mucus-filled bronchiectatic cavities.Chest HRCT was normal in 22 patients,while central bronchiectasis(CB)was demonstrated in the remaining 38 patients.Bronchiectasis extended to the periphery in 33%-43%depending on the criteria used for defining CB.The other findings observed on HRCT were mucoid impaction,centrilobular nodules and high-attenuation mucus in decreasing order of frequency.CONCLUSION:Patients with ABPA can present with normal HRCT chest scans.Central bronchiectasis cannot be considered a characteristic feature of ABPA as peripheral bronchiectasis is commonly observed.Consolidation is an uncommon finding in ABPA.Ritesh Agarwal Ajmal Khan Mandeep Garg Ashutosh N Aggarwal Dheeraj Gupta 2012World Journal of Radiology2012,4,4:14
5A SURVEY OF STACKELBERG DIFFERENTIAL GAME MODELS IN SUPPLY AND MARKETING CHANNELS显示文摘Stackelberg differential game models have been used to study sequential decision making in noncooperative games in diverse fields.In this paper,we survey recent applications of Stackelberg differential game models to the supply chain management and marketing channels literatures.A common feature of these applications is the specification of the game structure:a decentralized channel composed of a manufacturer and independent retailers,and a sequential decision procedure with demand and supply dynamics and coordination issues.In supply chain management,Stackelberg differential games have been used to investigate inventory issues,wholesale and retail pricing strategies,and outsourcing in dynamic environments.The underlying demand typically has growth dynamics or seasonal variation.In marketing,Stackelberg differential games have been used to model cooperative advertising programs,store brand and national brand advertising strategies,shelf space allocation,and pricing and advertising decisions.The demand dynamics are usually extensions of the classical advertising capital models or sales-advertising response models.We begin by explaining the Stackelberg differential game solution methodology and then provide a description of the models and results reported in the literature.Xiuli HE Ashutosh PRASAD Suresh P. 6Desulfurization of dibenzothiophene(DBT) by a novel strain Lysinibacillus sphaericus DMT-7 isolated from diesel contaminated soil显示文摘A new bacterial strain DMT-7 capable of selectively desulfurizing dibenzothiophene(DBT) was isolated from diesel contaminated soil.The DMT-7 was characterized and identified as Lysinibacillus sphaericus DMT-7(NCBI GenBank Accession No.GQ496620) using 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis.The desulfurized product of DBT,2-hydroxybiphenyl(2HBP),was identified and confirmed by high performance liquid chromatography analysis and gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy analysis respectively.The desulfurization kinetics revealed that DMT-7 started desulfurization of DBT into 2HBP after the lag phase of 24 hr,exponentially increasing the accumulation of 2HBP up to 15 days leading to approximately 60% desulfurization of the DBT.However,further growth resulted into DBT degradation.The induced culture of DMT-7 showed shorter lag phase of 6 hr and early onset of stationary phase within 10 days for desulfurization as compared to that of non-induced culture clearly indicating the inducibility of the desulfurization pathway of DMT-7.In addition,Lysinibacillus sphaericus DMT-7 also possess the ability to utilize broad range of substrates as sole source of sulfur such as benzothiophene,3,4-benzo DBT,4,6-dimethyl DBT,and 4,6-dibutyl DBT.Therefore,Lysinibacillus sphaericus DMT-7 could serve as model system for efficient biodesulfurization of diesel and petrol.Ashutosh Bahuguna Madhuri K.Lily Ashok Munjal Ravindra N.Singh Koushalya Dangwal 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:8
7Addition of simvastatin to carvedilol non responders: A new pharmacological therapy for treatment of portal hypertension显示文摘AIM To determine whether addition of simvastatin could be an important pharmacological rescue therapy for carvedilol non-responders. METHODS One hundred and two consecutive patients of cirrhosis of liver with significant portal hypertension were included. Hepatic venous pressure gradient(HVPG) was measured at the base line and after proper optimization of dose; chronic response was assessed at 3 mo. Carvedilol non-responders were given simvastatin 20 mg per day(increased to 40 mg per day at day 15). Carvedilol plus simvastatin was continued for 1 mo and hemodynamic response was again measured at 1 mo.RESULTS A total of 102 patients with mean age of 58.3 ± 6.6 years were included. Mean baseline HVPG was 16.75 ± 2.12 mmH g and after optimization of dose and reassessment of HVPG at 3 mo, mean reduction of HVPG from baseline was 5.5 ± 1.7 mm Hg and 2.8 ± 1.6 mm Hg among responders and non-responders respectively(P < 0.001). Addition of simvastatin to carvedilol non-responders resulted in significant response in 16 patients(42.1%) and thus overall response with carvedilol and carvedilol plus simvastatin was seen in 78 patients(80%). 8Numerical analysis of surface subsidence in asymmetric parallel highway tunnels显示文摘Tunnelling related hazards are very common in the Himalayan terrain and a number of such instances have been reported. Several twin tunnels are being planned for transportation purposes which will require good understanding for prediction of tunnel deformation and surface settlement during the engineering life of the structure. The deformational behaviour, design of sequential excavation and support of any jointed rock mass are challenging during underground construction. We have raised several commonly assumed issues while performing stability analysis of underground opening at shallow depth. For this purpose, Kainchi-mod Nerchowck twin tunnels(Himachal Pradesh, India) are taken for in-depth analysis of the stability of two asymmetric tunnels to address the influence of topography, twin tunnel dimension and geometry. The host rock encountered during excavation is composed mainly of moderately to highly jointed grey sandstone, maroon sandstone and siltstones. In contrast to equidimensional tunnels where the maximum subsidence is observed vertically above the centreline of the tunnel, the result from the present study shows shifting of the maximum subsidence away from the tunnel centreline. The maximum subsidence of 0.99 mm is observed at 4.54 m left to the escape tunnel centreline whereas the maximum subsidence of 3.14 mm is observed at 8.89 m right to the main tunnel centreline. 9Aceclofenac-induced hepatotoxicity:An ameliorative effect of Terminalia bellirica fruit and ellagic acid显示文摘BACKGROUND Aceclofenac(ACF),a widely used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug,has been associated with a number of severe cases of clinical hepatotoxicity.Terminalia bellirica,an evergreen tree,is known to have several ethnomedicinal uses including antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects.Hence T.bellirica fruit extracts and its phytoconstituent ellagic acid(EA)are expected to provide protection against oxidative stress and liver damage produced by long-term use of ACF.AIM To evaluate the antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities of T.bellirica fruit extracts and EA against ACF-induced toxicity in albino Wistar rats.METHODS The in vitro antioxidant activities of T.bellirica fruit ethyl acetate and aqueous extracts were measured by metal ion chelation and nitric oxide radical scavenging assays.The in vivo antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects of T.bellirica extracts(200 mg/kg)and EA(40 mg/kg)in ACF-induced hepatotoxic rats were assessed in serum and liver tissue after oral administration for 21 d.Silymarin(40 mg/kg)was used as a standard control.Oxidative stress markers in the blood(ferric reducing ability of plasma and lipid peroxidation inhibition)and liver tissues(superoxide dismutase,catalase and malondialdehyde)were analyzed using standard protocols.Liver function markers such as alkaline phosphatase,glutamic pyruvic transaminase,glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase,lactate dehydrogenase,γ-glutamyl transferase,creatinine,total protein,and uric acid were evaluated in rat serum.RESULTS The T.bellirica fruit ethyl acetate extract exhibited superior metal ion chelating and nitric oxide radical scavenging abilities during in vitro antioxidant assays as compared to aqueous extracts.Oral administration of ACF in rats(15 mg/kg)for 21 d produced oxidative stress and adversely affected liver function suggesting liver injury.Treatment with extracts(ethyl acetate and aqueous),EA and silymarin accounted for a significant reduction in the adverse effects of ACF on oxidative stress and liver function markers in serum and hepatic tissue in rats.Histopathological evaluation of the liver indicated that the extracts and EA significantly decreased the degree of liver damage.The in vivo efficacy of EA was higher than T.bellirica fruit extracts.Of these extracts,ethyl acetate extract revealed comparatively better antioxidant and hepatoprotective activity.CONCLUSION Ellagic acid and T.bellirica fruit extracts exhibited considerable hepatoprotective and antioxidant activities in long-term ACF-treated rats.Ashutosh Gupta Abhay K Pandey 2020World Journal of Hepatology2020,12,11:6
10Stability investigation of road cut slope in basaltic rockmass,Mahabaleshwar,India显示文摘Slope failures along hill cut road slopes are the major nuisance for commuters and highway planners as they put the human lives at huge risk,coupled with immense monetary losses.Analysis of these vulnerable cut slopes entails the assessment and estimation of the suitable material strength input parameters to be used in the numerical models to accomplish a holistic stability examination.For the present study a 60 m high,basaltic and lateritic road cut hill slope in Mahabaleshwar,India,has been considered.A number of samples of both basalt and laterite,in their natural state were tested in the laboratory and the evaluated maximum,minimum and mean strength parameters were employed for the three cases in a distinct element numerical model.The Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion has been incorporated in the numerical model for the material as well as the joints.The numerical investigation offered the factor of safety and insights into the probable deformational mechanism for the three cases.Beside,several critical parameters have also been judged from the study viz.,mode of failure,factor of safety,shear strain rate,displacement magnitudes etc.The result of this analysis shows that the studied section is prone to recurrent failures due to the capping of a substantially thick layer of weaker lateritic material above the high strength basaltic rock mass.External triggering mechanisms like heavy precipitation and earthquake may also accelerate the slope failure in this area.The study also suggests employing instant preventive measures to avert the further risk of damage.Ashutosh Kainthola P.K.Singh T.N.Singh 2015Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,6:5
11类弹性蛋白多肽黏膜下注射在黏膜剥离术中应用的实验研究显示文摘目的将类弹性蛋白多肽(ELP)作为一种黏膜下注射液应用于内镜黏膜下剥离术(ESD),对其有效性进行评估,为临床应用提供依据。方法 54只雄性SD大鼠随机分为3组(n=18)。第一组观察不同注射液分离组织的有效性。根据注射不同的注射剂随机分为3个亚组(n=6),暴露胃后壁分别黏膜下注射ELP、透明质酸钠(SH)和生理盐水(NS)0.2mL,观察并记录药物注射后0、5、10、30及60min局部黏膜隆起厚度及黏膜表面的改变;第2组观察注射不同注射液后30min黏膜隆起的组织学表现(n=6);第3组观察黏膜下剥离时不同注射液对出血的影响。根据注射不同注射剂随机分为3个亚组(n=6)。给予上述注射剂处理后,用无菌手术刀片完整切除黏膜下注射后形成的隆起部位,测定黏膜切除20min内的出血量。结果注射药物后60min内黏膜隆起厚度比较:ELP组分别与SH和NS组相比差异有显著性(P<0.05),即ELP维持黏膜隆起厚度明显大于SH和NS;SH与NS组相比差异有显著性(P<0.05),即SH维持黏膜隆起厚度大于NS。组织学观察ELP注射部位的周围组织中未见明显的炎性细胞浸润及坏死。黏膜切除时的出血量:ELP组、SH组、NS组分别为(854.0±98.9)、(726.3±104.8)和(1144.0±112.4)mg,ELP、SH组分别与NS组相比差异有显著性(P<0.05),应用ELP与SH较NS可明显减少出血量。结论黏膜下注射ELP后,ELP在黏膜下组织中的弥散明显延缓,在黏膜下形成较持久的液体垫维持黏膜厚度,有利于黏膜组织的剥离切除,并可以减少出血量,因此ELP有可能作为ESD中较为理想的黏膜下注射剂应用于临床。赵明星 郑忠青 刘文天 刘文革 Ashutosh Chilkoti 2014中国内镜杂志2014,20,4:5

13后腹腔镜下节段性肾动脉阻断保留肾单位手术的初步结果和体会显示文摘目的:探讨后腹腔镜下节段性肾动脉阻断保留肾单位肾部分切除术治疗局限性小肾肿瘤的临床应用价值和初步结果。方法:回顾性总结贵阳医学院附属医院2011年9月-2013年6月采取后腹腔镜下节段性肾动脉阻断保留肾单位肾部分切除术治疗局限性小肾肿瘤患者44例。男26例,女18例,平均年龄50.2岁;平均肿瘤直径(2.8±0.9)cm;肿瘤位于下极25例,中极10例,上极9例;T1a期36例,良性肿瘤8例;肾透明细胞癌23例,乳头状癌7例,嫌色细胞癌6例,肾错构瘤8例。统计患者手术时间(min)、术中出血量(ml)、术后胃肠功能恢复时间(h)、手术并发症发生率(%)、切缘阳性率(%)、总住院时间(d)以及术后6个月术侧肾的肾小球滤过率(eGFR)下降(%)等参数,所有患者随访6-12个月,监测肿瘤复发情况。结果:44例患者手术时间110-192min,平均132min;术中出血40-120ml,平均74ml,无一例输血,无中转;术后胃肠功能恢复时间16.2-23.5h,平均19.3h;手术并发症发生率9.1%(4/44);住院时间4-9d,平均4.6d;切缘阳性率2.3%(1/44)。患者随访期内无肿瘤复发,术后6个月44例患肾eGFR较术前无明显变化。术后6-12个月7例(7/44,15.9%)患肾eGFR较术前下降13.4-18.5ml/min,平均下降15.2ml/min(P〈0.05)。结论:后腹腔镜下节段性肾动脉阻断保留肾单位肾部分切除术具有创伤小、术中失血量少、胃肠功能恢复快、手术并发症少、住院时间短等优点。少部分患者术后远期患肾肾功能有一定影响,需要进一步观察。该术式是治疗局限性小肾肿瘤的一种安全有效的手术方法。陈方敏 石家齐 李登宝 李海峰 杨昊 严波 任德帅 张鹏 钟渠梁 陈程 姜锡男 Ashutosh Tewari 2014临床泌尿外科杂志2014,29,10:5
14Air quality monitoring using mobile microscopy and machine learning显示文摘Rapid,accurate and high-throughput sizing and quantification of particulate matter(PM)in air is crucial for monitoring and improving air quality.In fact,particles in air with a diameter of≤2.5μm have been classified as carcinogenic by the World Health Organization.Here we present a field-portable cost-effective platform for high-throughput quantification of particulate matter using computational lens-free microscopy and machine-learning.This platform,termed c-Air,is also integrated with a smartphone application for device control and display of results.This mobile device rapidly screens 6.5 L of air in 30 s and generates microscopic images of the aerosols in air.It provides statistics of the particle size and density distribution with a sizing accuracy of~93%.We tested this mobile platform by measuring the air quality at different indoor and outdoor environments and measurement times,and compared our results to those of an Environmental Protection Agency–approved device based on beta-attenuation monitoring,which showed strong correlation to c-Air measurements.Furthermore,we used c-Air to map the air quality around Los Angeles International Airport(LAX)over 24 h to confirm that the impact of LAX on increased PM concentration was present even at 47 km away from the airport,especially along the direction of landing flights.With its machinelearning-based computational microscopy interface,c-Air can be adaptively tailored to detect specific particles in air,for example,various types of pollen and mold and provide a cost-effective mobile solution for highly accurate and distributed sensing of air quality.Yi-Chen Wu Ashutosh Shiledar Yi-Cheng Li Jeffrey Wong Steve Feng Xuan Chen Christine Chen Kevin Jin Saba Janamian Zhe Yang Zachary Scott Ballard Zoltán Göröcs Alborz Feizi Aydogan Ozcan 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:5
15Imaging in pulmonary hydatid cysts显示文摘Hydatid disease is a zoonosis that can involve almost any organ in the human body. After the liver, the lungs are the most common site for hydatid disease in adults. Imaging plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis of the disease, as clinical features are often nonspecific. Classical radiological signs of pulmonary hydatid cysts have been described in the literature, aiding in the diagnosis of the disease. However, complicated hydatid cysts can prove to be a diagnostic challenge at times due to their atypical imaging features. Radiography is the initial imaging modality. Computed tomography can provide a specific diagnosis in complicated cases. Ultrasound is particularly useful in peripheral lung lesions. 16A novel approach for part family formation using K-means algorithm显示文摘The reconfigurable manufacturing system(RMS) is the next step in manufacturing,allowing the production of any quantity of highly customized and complex parts together with the benefits of mass production.In RMSs,parts are grouped into families,each of which requires a specific system configuration.Initially system is configured to produce the first family of parts.Once it is finished,the system will be reconfigured in order to produce the second family,and so forth.The effectiveness of a RMS depends on the formation of the optimum set of part families addressing various reconfigurability issues.The aim of this work is to establish a methodology for grouping parts into families for effective working of RMS.The methodology carried out in two phases. 19Universal frequency engineering tool for microcavity nonlinear optics:multiple selective mode splitting of whispering-gallery resonances显示文摘Whispering-gallery microcavities have been used to realize a variety of efficient parametric nonlinear optical processes through the enhanced light–matter interaction brought about by supporting multiple high quality factor and small modal volume resonances.Critical to such studies is the ability to control the relative frequencies of the cavity modes,so that frequency matching is achieved to satisfy energy conservation.Typically this is done by tailoring the resonator cross section.Doing so modifies the frequencies of all of the cavity modes,that is,the global dispersion profile,which may be undesired,for example,in introducing competing nonlinear processes.Here,we demonstrate a frequency engineering tool,termed multiple selective mode splitting(MSMS),that is independent of the global dispersion and instead allows targeted and independent control of the frequencies of multiple cavity modes.In particular,we show controllable frequency shifts up to 0.8 nm,independent control of the splitting of up to five cavity modes with optical quality factors≳10^5,and strongly suppressed frequency shifts for untargeted modes.The MSMS technique can be broadly applied to a wide variety of nonlinear optical processes across different material platforms and can be used to both selectively enhance processes of interest and suppress competing unwanted processes.Xiyuan Lu Ashutosh Rao Gregory Moille Daron A.Westly Kartik Srinivasan 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:3
20Control of rock joint parameters on deformation of tunnel opening显示文摘Tunneling in complex rock mass conditions is a challenging task, especially in the Himalayan terrain, where a number of unpredicted conditions are reported. Rock joint parameters such as persistence, spacing and shear strength are the factors which significantly modify the working environments in the vicinity of the openings. Therefore, a detailed tunnel stability assessment is critically important based on the field data collection on the excavated tunnel's face. In this context, intact as well as rock mass strength and deformation modulus is obtained from laboratory tests for each rock type encountered in the study area. Finite element method(FEM) is used for stability analysis purpose by parametrically varying rock joint persistence, spacing and shear strength parameters, until the condition of overbreak is reached. Another case of marginally stable condition is also obtained based on the same parameters. The results show that stability of tunnels is highly influenced by these parameters and the size of overbreak is controlled by joint persistence and spacing.
