Peristaltic flow with convective mass condition and thermal radiation显示文摘The primary objective of present investigation is to introduce the novel aspects of convective mass condition and thermal radiation in the peristaltic transport of fluid. Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) fluid was considered in a symmetric channel. Heat and mass transfer characteristics were analyzed in the presence of Soret and Dufour effects, and the results were presented via two forms of thermal radiation. The temperature, concentration and pressure rise per wavelength were examined. It is observed that the velocity slip and magnetic field parameters have opposite effects on the pressure rise per wavelength. Temperature of fluid is a decreasing function of the radiation parameter. Further, the temperature of fluid decreases by increasing the heat transfer Biot number. It is notified that the heat transfer rate at the wall is a decreasing function of radiation parameter.F.M.Abbasi T.Hayat B.Ahmad B.Chen 2015Journal of Central South University2015,22,6:1
RADIATION EFFECT ON BIOSYNTHESES OF ASCORBIC ACID AND RIBOFLAVIN IN GERMINATING CHICKPEA显示文摘The influence of irradiation on biosyntheses of ascorbic acid and riboflavin in germinating chickpea seeds at ambient (25-35℃) conditions, was investigated. The rate of syntheses of these vitamins significantly increased with increasing germination time upto 120 h depending upon the treatment (P<0.05). Maximum amounts of ascorbic acid, 22.32 and 16.84 mg/100g, were found in the 0.10 kGy sample after 120 h of germination in tap and distilled water respectively. However, a radiation dose of 0.15 kGy resulted in the development of maximum values of riboflavin, 11.40 and 11.38 μ g/g, on germination in tap and distilled water respectively. A significant linear relation (r = 0-954 to 0.997) was observed between the biosyntheses of these vitamins and the germination time upto 120 h of irradiated and unirradiated chickpea seed (P<0.05).Abdus Sattar S.Atta M.Wahid B.Ahmad M.A.Akhtar 1990Nuclear Science and Techniques1990,1,4:0
Effects of thermophoresis and thermal radiation in mixed convection three-dimensional flow of Jeffrey fluid显示文摘Mixed convection three-dimensional flow of Jeffrey fluid is studied in the presence of thermal radiation and thermophoresis. The relevant problems are formulated, and series solutions are presented for velocities, temperature, and concentration. Convergence of series solutions is obtained graphically and numerically. Effects of different emerging parameters on the velocities, temperature, and concentration fields are plotted and discussed.S.A.SHEHZAD T.HAYAT A.ALSAEDI B.AHMAD 2015Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2015,36,5:0
Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model for third-grade fluid flow towards exponentially stretching sheet显示文摘The Cattaneo-Christov heat flux in the two-dimensional(2D) flow of a thirdgrade fluid towards an exponentially stretching sheet is investigated. The energy equation is considered through thermal relaxation.Similarity transformations are accounted to obtain the ordinary differential systems. The converted non-dimensional equations are solved for the series solutions. The convergence analysis of the computed solutions is reported. The graphical results of the velocity and temperature profiles are plotted and elaborated in detail. The results show that the thermal relaxation enhances the temperature gradient while reduces the temperature profile.S.A.SHEHZAD F.M.ABBASI T.HAYAT B.AHMAD 2016Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2016,37,6:0
Numerical analysis for peristaltic transport of Carreau-Yasuda fluid with variable thermal conductivity and convective conditions显示文摘Peristalsis of Carreau-Yasuda fluid is investigated. Analysis is carried out in the presence of velocity slip and convective boundary conditions. Thermal conductivity of the fluid is taken to be temperature dependent. Lubrication analysis is used in the formulation of the problem. Resulting nonlinear system of equations is solved numerically. Impact of embedded parameters on the quantities of interest is examined through graphs and tables. Comparison of the behavior of the Carreau-Yasuda, Carreau and Newtonian fluid models is presented. Results show that the heat transfer rate at the wall for the Carreau fluid model is large when compared with the Newtonian or the Carreau-Yasuda fluid model. Also the heat transfer rate at the wall decreases with increase in the velocity slip and variable thermal conductivity parameters. Further, an increase in the Biot number reduces the fluid temperature by a considerable amount.F.M.Abbasi T.Hayat B.Ahmad 2015Journal of Central South University2015,22,11:0
