1A comprehensive review on biocompatible Mg-based alloys as temporary orthopaedic implants:Current status,challenges,and future prospects显示文摘Mg and its alloys are drawing huge attention since the last two decades as a viable option for temporary implants applications.A commendable progress has already been made in the development of these alloys.The biodegradable nature of Mg,appreciable biocompatibility of elemental Mg,and its close resemblance to natural bone in terms of density and elastic modulus make them highly preferable option amongst other available alternatives in this field.This review article presents an overview covering the recent advancements made in the field of Mg-based biodegradable implants for orthopaedic implant applications.The paper focuses on alloy development and fabrication techniques,the state of the art of important Mg-based alloy systems in terms of their mechanical properties,in-vitro and in-vivo degradation behaviour and cytotoxicity.Further,the paper reviews the current progress achieved in the clinical transition of Mg-based alloys for orthopaedic fixtures.The review also includes the degradation mechanisms of the alloys in physiological environment and highlights the mismatch existing between the rate of bone healing and alloy degradation due to rapid corrosion of the alloys in such environment,which has still restricted their widespread application.Finally,the surface coating techniques available for the alloys as an effective way to reduce the degradation rate are reviewed,followed by a discussion on the future research prospects.Darothi Bairagi Sumantra Mandal 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,3:5
2Comparative effectiveness of Biobrane^(■),RECELL^(■)Autologous skin Cell suspension and Silver dressings in partial thickness paediatric burns:BRACS randomised trial protocol显示文摘Background:Mixed partial thickness burns are the most common depth of burn injury managed at a large Australian paediatric hospital specialty burns unit.Prolonged time until re-epithelialisation is associated with increased burn depth and scar formation.Whilst current wound management approaches have benefits such as anti-microbial cover,these are not without inherent limitations including multiple dressing changes.The Biobrane^(■)RECELL^(■)Autologous skin Cell suspension and Silver dressings(BRACS)trial aims to identify the most effective wound management approach for mixed partial thickness injuries in children.Methods:All children presenting with an acute burn injury to the study site will be screened for eligibility.This is a single-centre,three-arm,parallel group,randomised trial.Children younger than 16 years,with burns≥5%total body surface area involving any anatomical location,up to 48 h after the burn injury,and of a superficial partial to mid-dermal depth,will be included.A sample size of 84 participants will be randomised to standard silver dressing or a Regenerative Epithelial Suspension(RES^(TM))with Biobrane^(■)or Biobrane^(■)alone.The first dressing will be applied under general anaesthesia and subsequent dressings will be changed every 3 to 5 days until the wound is≥95%re-epithelialised,with re-epithelialisation time the primary outcome.Secondary outcomes of acute pain,acute itch,scar severity,health-related quality of life,treatment satisfaction,dressing application ease and healthcare resource use will be assessed at each dressing change and 3,6 and 12 months post-burn injury.Discussion:The findings of this study can potentially change the wound management approach for superficial partial to mid-dermal burns in children locally and worldwide.Trial registration:The Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry(ACTRN12618000245291)approved prospective registration on 15 February 2018.Registration details can be viewed at http://gffzzf8a84f62798d4facsw69qfu0nkkqf6xv5.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/Trial/Registration/TrialReview.aspx?id=374272&isReview=true.Anjana Bairagi Bronwyn Griffin Zephanie Tyack Dimitrios Vagenas Steven M.McPhail Roy Kimble 2019Burns & Trauma2019,7,1:3

4Wind environment around the setback building models显示文摘The irregular shape of buildings always tenders an enormous challenge to the designers.The wind velocity at the pedestrian level has a specific approach from a comfortable point of view.This investigation highlighted the characteristic of the pedestrian level wind velocity for distinct types of asymmetrical setback buildings.The passed study explored the pedestrian level effect for the axisymmetric models,while this study is based on the models that have symmetry about a single axis.This study investigates the pedestrian level flow fluctuation of setback models with single and double side setbacks at multiple levels.The double-side double setback buildings are efficient to reduce 28%-30%velocity in front of the building and 68%-70%velocity behind the building.Finally it suggests that the double side double setback building is efficient to maintain the velocity at the pedestrian level,roof level,and backside of the building.The setback building can easily control the frequency of fluctuating velocity at downstream flow for both along and across wind conditions.Amlan Kumar Bairagi Sujit Kumar Dalui 2021Building Simulation2021,14,5:2
