| 1 | Disentangling the effects of topography and space on the distributions of dominant species in a subtropical forest显示文摘Topography and space are two important factors determining plant species assemblages in forest communities.Quantification of the contribution of these two factors in determining species distribution helps us to evaluate their relative importance in determining species assemblages.This study aims to disentangle the effect of topography and space on the distributions of 14 dominant species in a subtropical mixed forest.Spearman correlation analysis and the torustranslation test were used to test the species–habitat associations.Variation partitioning was used to quantify the relative contributions of topography and space at three sampling scales and three life stages.Correlation analyses and torus-translation tests showed species abundance was mostly correlated with topographic wetness index,vertical distance from the channel network and convexity.Variation partitioning showed that pure topography,pure space and spatially structured topography explained about 2.1 %,41.2 % and 13.8 %of the variation in species distributions,respectively.For nine species,total topography fractions peaked in 20 m quadrats.For ten species,the pure space fractions peaked in 50 m quadrats.For many species,the total topography fraction andthe pure space fraction were larger for the most abundant life stages,which reflected the importance of sampling effect.However,some cases did not follow this trend suggesting that the effects of ecological processes such as habitat filtering,density dependence or dispersal limitation may exceed the sampling effects.In conclusion,we found that spatially structured topography and pure space primarily shaped the distribution of dominant tree species.Furthermore,their effects were both scale- and life stage-dependent. | Qinggang Wang Yaozhan Xu Zhijun Lu Dachuan Bao Yili Guo Junmeng Lu Kuihan Zhang Haibo Liu Hongjie Meng Xiujuan Qiao Handong Huang Mingxi Jiang | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35: | 16 |
| 2 | Inhibition of growth and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer targeted by Traditional Chinese Medicine Tubeimu in orthotopic mice models显示文摘Objective: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is highly invasive and metastatic, which is in urgent need of transformative therapeutics. Tubeimu(TBM), the rhizome of Bolbostemma paniculatum(Maxim.) Franquet, is one of the Chinese medicinal herbs used for breast diseases since the ancient times. The present study evaluated the efficacy, especially the anti-metastatic effects of the dichloromethane extract of Tubeimu(ETBM) on TNBC orthotopic mouse models and cell lines.Methods: We applied real-time imaging on florescent orthotopic TNBC mice model and tested cell migration and invasion abilities with MDA-MB-231 cell line. Digital gene expression sequencing was performed and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) analysis applied to explore the pathways influenced by ETBM.Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions(q RT-PCR) and Western blot were delivered to confirm the gene expression changes.Results: ETBM exhibited noticeable control on tumor metastasis and growth of TNBC tumors with no obvious toxicity. In compliance with this, it also showed inhibition of cell migration and invasion in vitro. | 4 | Highly reversible lead-carbon battery anode with lead grafting on thecarbon surface显示文摘A novel C/Pb composite has been successfully prepared by electroless plating to reduce the hydrogen evolution and achieve the high reversibility of the anode of lead-carbon battery(LCB). The deposited lead on the surface of C/Pb composite was found to be uniform and adherent to carbon surface. Because lead has been stuck on the surface of C/Pb composite, the embedded structure suppresses the hydrogen evolution of lead-carbon anode and strengthens the connection between carbon additive and sponge lead.Compared with the blank anode, the lead-carbon anode with C/Pb composite displays excellent charge—discharge reversibility, which is attributed to the good connection between carbon additives and lead that has been stuck on the surface of C/Pb composite during the preparation process. The photoelectrochemical experiments indicate the AuNP-TiO_2 NA sensor has lower photoelectro-resistance,higher photoelectrocatalytical activity and stability than that of pure TiO_2 NA sensor under the same conditions. | 8 | Influence of the biological carbon pump effect on the sources and deposition of organic matter in Fuxian Lake, a deep oligotrophic lake in southwest China显示文摘Biological carbon pumping(BCP)is a key process in which dissolved inorganic carbon in terrestrial aquatic ecosystems is utilized by aquatic autotrophs for photosynthesis and transformed into autochthonous organic matter(AOC).However,the mechanisms underlying BCP and the amount of generated AOC deposited effectively,are still poorly understood.Therefore,we conducted a systematic study combining modern hydrochemical monitoring and a sediment trap experiment in Fuxian Lake(Yunnan,SW China),the second-deepest plateau,oligotrophic freshwater lake in China.Temperature,pH,EC(electrical conductivity),DO(dissolved O2),[HCO3^-],[Ca^2+],SIc,partial CO2(pCO2)pressure,and carbon isotopic compositions of HCO3^-(δ^13CDIc)in water from Fuxian Lake all displayed distinct seasonal and vertical variations.This was especially apparent in an inverse correlation between pCO2 and DO,indicating that variations of hydrochemistry in the lake water were mainly controlled by the metabolism of the aquatic phototrophs.Furthermore,the lowest C/N ratios and highestδ^13Corg were recorded in the trap sediments.Analyses of the C/N ratio demonstrated that the proportions of AOC ranged from 30%to 100%of all OC,indicating that AOC was an important contributor to sedimentary organic matter(OC).It was calculated that the AOC flux in Fuxian Lake was 20.43 t C km^-2 in 2017.Therefore,AOC produced by carbonate weathering and aquatic photosynthesis could potentially be a significant carbon sink and may have an important contribution to solving the lack of carbon sinks in the global carbon cycle. | Haibo He Zaihua Liu Chongying Chen Yu Wei Qian Bao Hailong Sun Yundi Hu Hao Yan | 2019 | Acta Geochimica2019,38,5: | 2 |

| 19 | Simplified fabrication of high areal capacitance all-solid-state micro-supercapacitors based on graphene and MnO_2 nanosheets显示文摘All-solid-state micro-supercapacitors are acknowledged as a very promising class of microscale energy storage devices for directly integrating portable and wearable electronics. However, the improvement of electrochemical performance from materials to devices still remains tremendous challenges. Here, we demonstrate a novel and universal mask-assisted filtration technology for the simplified fabrication of all-solid-state planar micro-supercapacitors(MSCs) based on interdigital patterns of 2D pseudocapacitive MnO_2 nanosheets and electrochemically exfoliated graphene film as both electrode and current collector, and polyvinyl alcohol/Li Cl gel as electrolyte. Remarkably, the resulting MSCs exhibit outstanding areal capacitance of ~355 m F/cm^2, which is among the highest values reported in the state-of-the-art MSCs. Meanwhile, MSCs possess exceptionally mechanical flexibility as high as ~92% of initial capacitance even at a highly bending angle of 180°, excellent cyclability with a capacitance retention of 95% after 3000 cycles, and impressive serial or parallel integration for modulating the voltage or capacitance. | 20 | Safety and feasibility of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal and gastric cancer under the Chinese multi-site practice policy:admittance standards of competence are needed显示文摘Background:The multi-site practice(MSP)policy has been practiced in China over 10 years.This study aimed to investigate the safety and feasibility of performing laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer(LSCRC)and gastric cancer(LSGC)under the Chinese MSP policy.Methods:We collected and analysed the data from 1,081 patients who underwent LSCRC or LSGC performed by one gastrointestinal surgeon in his original hospital(n=573)and his MSP institutions(n=508)between January 2017 and December 2020.Baseline demographics,intraoperative outcomes,post-operative recovery,and pathological results were compared between the original hospital and MSP institutions,as well as between MSP institutions with and without specific competence(surgical skill,operative instrument,perioperative multi-discipline team).Results:In our study,690 patients underwent LSCRC and 391 patients underwent LSGC.The prevalence of post-operative complications was comparable for LSCRC(11.5%vs 11.1%,P=0.89)or LSGC(15.2%vs 12.6%,P=0.46)between the original hospital and MSP institutions.However,patients in MSP institutions without qualified surgical assistant(s)and adequate instruments experienced longer operative time and greater intraoperative blood loss.The proportion of patients with inadequate lymph-node yield was significantly higher in MSP institutions than in the original hospital for both LSCRC(11.5%vs 21.2%,P<0.01)and LSGC(9.8%vs 20.5%,P<0.01).Conclusion:For an experienced gastrointestinal surgeon,performing LSCRC and LSGC outside his original hospital under the MSP policy is safe and feasible,but relies on the precondition that the MSP institutions are equipped with qualified surgical skills,adequate operative instruments,and complete perioperative management. | Zhenghao Cai Haiqin Song Zhenfeng Huang Abraham Fingerhut Ximo Xu Hao Zhong Zhigang Li Yingjie Zhang Dachong Sha Dandan Bao Haibo Wang Binghua Cai Shangbo Hua Yanhui Zhang Jianguang Sun Ke Ye Jianwen Li Yong Lu Bo Feng | 2022 | Gastroenterology Report2022,10,1: | 0 |
