| 1 | Comparative effect of electroacupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of substance P and vasoactive intestinal peptide in patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the impacts of electroacupuncture(EA) and moxibustion(Mox) on the primary gastrointestinal symptoms and the expressions of colonic mucosa-associated neuropeptide substance P(SP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)in patients with either diarrhea-predominant or constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D and IBS-C,respectively).METHODS: Eighty-five IBS patients were randomly allocated to the EA and Mox groups. Zusanli(ST 36)and Shangjuxu(ST 37) were selected as acupoints for electroacupuncture or warm moxibustion treatment once a day for 14 consecutive days. Before and after the treatment sessions,a Visual Analog Pain Scale and the Bristol Stool Form Scale were used to evaluate gastrointestinal symptoms. There were four dropout cases,leaving 81 participants(41 with IBS-D and 40 with IBS-C) who volunteered to undergo colonoscopy before and after the treatment sessions. During colonoscopy,sigmoid mucosa were collected to detect SP and VIP expression using immunohistochemistry assay.RESULTS: Both EA and Mox treatments were effective at relieving abdominal pain in IBS-D and IBS-C patients. However,Mox was more effective at reducing diarrhea in IBS-D patients,whereas EA was more effective at improving constipation in IBS-C patients. | 2 | Mild moxibustion at Tianshu (ST 25) decreases expression of prokineticin-1 and prokineticin receptor-1 in colon tissue of rats with chronic visceral hyperalgesia显示文摘Prokineticin-1 and prokineticin receptor-1 play important roles in visceral hypersensitivity and in-flammatory pain. Visceral hypersensitivity is closely associated with irritable bowel syndrome. Mild moxibustion can relieve chronic visceral hyperalgesia in rats with irritable bowel syndrome. We hypothesized that prokineticin-1 and prokineticin receptor-1 is the key target in the mechanism. This study established chronic visceral hyperalgesia rat models by colorectal distention. Protein and mRNA expression of prokineticin-1 and prokineticin receptor-1 were determined by immunohisto-chemical method and fluorescence quantitative-PCR, respectively, and were found to be signifi-cantly increased in visceral hyperalgesic rats. | 3 | Effective regeneration of high-performance anode material recycled from the whole electrodes in spent lithium-ion batteries via a simplified approach显示文摘Along with the extensive application of energy storage devices,the spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are unquestionably classified into the secondary resources due to its high content of several valuable metals.However,current recycling methods have the main drawback to their tedious process,especially the purification and separation process.Herein,we propose a simplified process to recycle both cathode(LiCoO_(2))and anode(graphite)in the spent LIBs and regenerate newly high-performance anode material,CoO/CoFe2O4/expanded graphite(EG).This process not only has the advantages of succinct procedure and easy control of reaction conditions,but also effectively separates and recycles lithium from transition metals.The 98.43%of lithium is recovered from leachate when the solid product CoO/CoFe2O4/EG is synthesized as anode material for LIBs.And the product exhibits improved cyclic stability(890 mAh g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) after 700 cycles)and superior rate capability(208 mAh g^(-1) at 5 A g^(-1)).The merit of this delicate recycling design can be summarized as three aspects:the utilization of Fe impurity in waste LiCoO_(2),the transformation of waste graphite to EG,and the regeneration of anode material.This approach properly recycles the valuable components of spent LIBs,which introduces an insight into the future recycling. | Long Ye Chunhui Wang Liang Cao Hougui Xiao Jiafeng Zhang Bao Zhang Xing Ou | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,5: | 3 |
| 4 | Effect of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) for the treatment of diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome: a patient-blinded pilot trial with orthogonal design显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV6) in patients with diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome(D-IBS) by assessing predominant factors, and determining the best factor combinations and their interactions. To identify the optimal quantity of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) to achieve optimal efficacy.METHODS: An L9(3~4) orthogonal design was applied to 233 confirmed subjects based on the three most influential factors and the three most frequently used levels. Nine programs were designed.Subjects were assigned to four subgroups according to age and gender; each subject underwent one of the nine programs randomly. We selected Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6). The scores of symptoms and the IBS Quality of Life(IBS-QOL) were evaluated after the final treatment.RESULTS: After treatment, clinical symptoms of all patients were significantly improved(P = 0.001).Quality of life also improved significantly(P < 0.05).For all the participants, frequency was the dominating factor regarding symptoms(P = 0.01). Duration was the dominating factor for quality of life(P =0.0001). The best combination for improving symptoms in 30-40-year-old male and female patients was two courses of 10 min each once a day, and for41-50-year-old male and female patients it was three courses of 10 min(males) or 30 min(females)twice a day. The best combination for quality of life was three courses of 20 min once a day. No interaction was found between frequency and course, or frequency and duration.CONCLUSION: Warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) is a promising therapy for D-IBS. | 7 | Van der Waals heterostructure engineering by 2D space-confinement for advanced potassium-ion storage显示文摘Molybdenum disulfide (MoS_(2)) has received enormous attentions in the electrochemical energy storage due to its unique two-dimensional layered structure and relatively high reversible capacity. However, the application of MoS_(2) in potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) is restricted by poor rate capability and cyclability, which are associated with the sluggish reaction kinetics and the huge volume expansion during K+ intercalation. Herein, we propose a two-dimensional (2D) space confined strategy to construct van der Waals heterostructure for superior PIB anode, in which the MoS_(2) nanosheets can be well dispersed on reduced graphene oxide nanosheets by leveraging the confinement effect within the graphene layers and amorphous carbon. The strong synergistic effects in 2D van der Waals heterostructure can extremely promote the electron transportation and ions diffusion during K+ insertion/extraction. More significantly, the 2D space-confinement effect and van der Waals force inhibit polysulfide conversion product dissolution into the electrolyte, which significantly strengthens the structural durability during the long-term cycling process. As anticipated, the as-synthesized the “face-to-face” C/MoS_(2)/G anode delivers remarkable K-storage performance, especially for high reversible capacity (362.5 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1)), excellent rate capability (195.4 mAh·g^(-1) at 10 Ag^(-1)) and superior ultrahigh-rate long-cycling stability (126.4 mAh·g^(-1) after 4000 cycles at high rate of 5 A·g^(-1)). | 10 | Occurrence Regularity and Mating Rhythm of Overwintering Adults of Tessaratoma papillosa on Longan Tree显示文摘[Objective] The occurrence regularity and mating rhythm of overwintering adults of Tessaratoma papillosa on longan tree were studied in the paper, so as to provide scientific reference for effective prevention and control against the pest. [Method] During the mating period of overwintering adults of T. papillosa, mating duration, occurrence regularity and mating rhythm of overwintering adults within 48 h as well as their occurrence and mating status during April and June were observed. [Result] Mating duration of T. papillosa adults for 8-9 h accounted for 18.2%, and duration for 10-11 h and more than 13 h accounted for 54.5% and 27.3%, respectively. According to daily observation, the maximum adult quantity of T. papillosa adults appeared at 9:00 am, followed by 13:00 pm. There were two peaks (9:00 am and 13:00 pm) and troughs (6:00 am and 19:00 pm) for adult quantity of T. papillosa and its mating pairs within 24 h a times changed. Mating pairs were positively correlated with observed adult quantity. Adult quantity and mating pairs increased since April 1, and reached the maximum value on April 6. Afterwards, they were gradually dropped down, and almost no adults of T. papillosa were found after June 11. [Conclusion] The mating peak of T. papillosa adults was from April to May, and there were two mating peaks (9:00 am and 13:00 pm) and troughs (6:00 am and 19:00 pm) every day.
