| 2 | Wall-modeling for large-eddy simulation of flows around an axisymmetric body using the diffuse-interface immersed boundary method显示文摘A novel method is proposed to combine the wall-modeled large-eddy simulation(LES) with the diffuse-interface direct-forcing immersed boundary(IB) method.The new developments in this method include:(i) the momentum equation is integrated along the wall-normal direction to link the tangential component of the effective body force for the IB method to the wall shear stress predicted by the wall model;(ii) a set of Lagrangian points near the wall are introduced to compute the normal component of the effective body force for the IB method by reconstructing the normal component of the velocity. This novel method will be a classical direct-forcing IB method if the grid is fine enough to resolve the flow near the wall. The method is used to simulate the flows around the DARPA SUBOFF model. | 4 | Microstructure and Properties of W-Cu Alloys Prepared with Mechanically Activated Powder显示文摘W-15% Cu (mass fraction) alloys were sintered with mechanically activated powder in order to develop new preparing processes and improve properties of alloys. The microstructures of the activated powder and the sintered alloy were observed. Properties such as density were measured. | 5 | A large eddy simulation of flows around an underwater vehicle model using an immersed boundary method显示文摘A large eddy simulation(LES) of the flows around an underwater vehicle model at intermediate Reynolds numbers is performed. The underwater vehicle model is taken as the DARPA SUBOFF with full appendages,where the Reynolds number based on the hull length is 1.0×105. An immersed boundary method based on the moving-least-squares reconstruction is used to handle the complex geometric boundaries. The adaptive mesh refinement is utilized to resolve the flows near the hull. The parallel scalabilities of the flow solver are tested on meshes with the number of cells varying from 50 million to 3.2 billion. The parallel solver reaches nearly linear scalability for the flows around the underwater vehicle model. The present simulation captures the essential features of the vortex structures near the hull and in the wake.Both of the time-averaged pressure coefficients and streamwise velocity profiles obtained from the LES are consistent with the characteristics of the flows pass an appended axisymmetric body. | 6 | DOUBLE GLOW PLASMA SURFACE ALLOYING OF Ti6A14V AND TiAl显示文摘In order to improve the wear resistance of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V and high temperature oxidation resistance of intermetallic compound TiA1, the Double Glow Plasma Surface Alloying Technique (DG technique) was applied to modify the surface properties of these materials. Mo, Nb, Cr, Ni were diffused into the substrate materials to form alloyed layers with different properties. This paper shows the microstructures, microstructures, distributions of the alloy elements of the alloyed layers. Wear and high temperature oxidation tests were carried out. | 8 | Synthesis of N-acetamide C_(60) nitride and its performance of optical limiting显示文摘N-acetamide C60 nitride (N-acetamide-1,2-dihydro-1,2-aza-fullerene[60]) has been synthesized by the reaction of C60 and azidoacetamide and initially characterized. Its mechanism was that the objective product is formed through intermediate triazoline. The computational study shows that N-nitride structure is thermodynamically more stable by using the semi-empirical AM1 SCF-MO method. The properties of optical limiting were tested by using double frequency Nd: YAG pulse laser system and showed that the optical limiting mechanism is reverse saturation absorption. At wavelength of 532 nm, compared with optical limiting for ns pulse, this new material has good optical limiting character for ps pulse. | 10 | Failure Detection and Correction for Appearance Based Facial Tracking显示文摘The appearance based facial tracking methods, such as active appearance models and candide models, are widely used in intelligent user interface and facial expression recognition. This paper proposes a novel method to detect and correct the failures in appearance based facial tracking. A sparse coding strategy is applied to learn an efficient feature representation for the difference between the warped image and the face template. The features are extracted by directly pro ject the difference image to the space spanned by the dictionary of the sparse coding. An iterative regression based method is proposed to detect and correct the failures according to the features. The available plastic simulation systems are not easy to manipulate. This paper presents a realistic cosmetic plastic surgery simulation framework guided automatically by golden ratio data, which is suitable for personalized realistic facial models from 3D laser scan. A golden ratio facial mask is made based on the ideal golden ratio facial mask data, with reference to the facial ratio of goodlooking groups of eastern people. The plastic design for the region of interest will be driven automatically by Laplacian coordinates deformation, based on the matched characteristic points and lines of the golden ratio facial mask to set the boundary conditions. | 13 | Saliency-Based Segmentation of Optic Disc in Retinal Images显示文摘Accurate segmentation of Optic disc(OD)is significant for the automation of retinal analysis and retinal diseases screening. This paper proposes a novel optic disc segmentation method based on the saliency. It includes two stages: optic disc location and saliency-based segmentation. In the location stage, the OD is detected using a matched template and the density of the vessels.In the segmentation stage, we treat the OD as the salient object and formulate it as a saliency detection problem.To measure the saliency of a region, the boundary prior and the connectivity prior are exploited. | 17 | An Ensemble Retinal Vessel Segmentation Based on Supervised Learning in Fundus Images显示文摘An ensemble method based on supervised learning for segmenting the retinal vessels in color fundus images is proposed on the basis of previous work of Zhu et al. For each pixel, a 36 dimensional feature vector is extracted, including local features, morphological transformation with multi-scale and multi-orientation, and divergence of vector field which is firstly used to extract feature of retinal image pixels. Then the feature vector is used as input data set to train the weak classifiers by the Classification and regression tree(CART). Finally, an Ada Boost classifier is constructed by iteratively training for the retinal vessels segmentation. The experimental results on the public Digital retinal images for vessel extraction(DRIVE)database demonstrate that the proposed method is efficient and robust on the fundus images with lesions when compared with the other methods. Meanwhile, the proposed method also exhibits high robustness on a new Retinal images for screening(RIS) database. The average accuracy,sensitivity, and specificity of improved method are 0.9535,0.8319 and 0.9607, respectively.
