Design of PANDA ring-core fiber with 10 polarization-maintaining modes显示文摘We present a polarization-maintaining PANDA ring-core fiber(PM-PRCF) characterized by the combination of a ring-core structure with two stress-applying rods. This special fiber design separates the adjacent modes and avoids the cutoff of the higher-order modes, which is a common problem in elliptical core polarization-maintaining few-mode fibers. Using a high-contrast index ring and stress-induced birefringence, the PM-PRCF features support for 10 vector modes, with effective refractive index separations from their adjacent modes >10^(-4).Broadband performance is investigated subsequently over a wide wavelength range from 1500 to 1630 nm.The proposed fiber is targeted at applications in space-division multiplexing while eliminating the complex multiple-input multiple-output signal processing. | Haozhe Yan Shangyuan Li Zhengyang Xie Xiaoping Zheng Hanyi Zhang Bingkun Zhou | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,1: | 7
High-throughput characterization methods for lithium batteries显示文摘The development of high-performance lithium ion batteries requires the discovery of new materials and the optimization of key components.By contrast with traditional one-by-one method,high-throughput method can synthesize and characterize a large number of compositionally varying samples, which is able to accelerate the pace of discovery, development and optimization process of materials.Because of rapid progress in thin film and automatic control technologies, thousands of compounds with different compositions could be synthesized rapidly right now, even in a single experiment. However, the lack of rapid or combinatorial characterization technologies to match with high-throughput synthesis methods, limit the application of high-throughput technology. Here,we review a series of representative highthroughput characterization methods used in lithium batteries, including high-throughput structural and electrochemical characterization methods and rapid measuring technologies based on synchrotron light sources. | Yingchun Lyu Yali Liu Tao Cheng Bingkun Guo | 2017 | Journal of Materiomics2017,3,3: | 6
Variation of the friction conditions in cold ring compression tests of medium carbon steel显示文摘Lubrication and friction conditions vary with deformation during metal forming processes.Significant macro-variations can be observed when a threshold of deformation is reached. This study shows that during the cold compression processing of#45(AISI 1045)steel rings, the magnitude of friction and surface roughness(Ra)changes significantly upon reaching a 45%reduction in ring height. For example, the Ra of compressed ring specimens increased by approximately 55%immediately before and after reaching this threshold, compared to an 18% or 25%variation over a 35%-45%or a 45%-55%reduction in height, respectively. The ring compression test conducted by this study indicates that the Coulomb friction coefficient and Tresca friction factor mare 0.105 and 0.22,respectively,when the reduction in height is less than 45%;and 0.11 and 0.24,respectively,when the reduction in height is greater than 45%. | Dawei ZHANG Bingkun LIU Jingxiang LI Minchao CUI Shengdun ZHAO | 2020 | Friction2020,8,2: | 5
Highly luminescent and stable lead-free cesium copper halide perovskite powders for UV-pumped phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes显示文摘Lead halide perovskites have drawn extensive attention over recent decades owing to their outstanding photo-electric performances. However, their toxicity and instability are big issues that need to be solved for further commercialization.Herein,we adopt a facile dry ball milling method to synthesize lead-free Cs3Cu2X5(X=I,CI)perovskites with photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 60%.The optical features including broad emission spectrum, large Stokes shift, and long PL lifetime can be attributed to self-trapped exciton recombination. The as-synthesized blue emissive Cs3Cu2I5 and green emissive Cs3Cu2Cl5 lead-free perovskite powders have good thermal stability and photostability.Furthermore,UV-pumped phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes were obtained by using Cs3Cu2I5 and Cs3Cu2Cl5 as phosphors. | LINGLING XIE BINGKUN CHEN FA ZHANG ZHENG ZHAO XINXIN WANG LIJIE SHI YUE LIU LINGLING HUANG RUIBIN LIU BINGSUO ZOU YONGTIAN WANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,6: | 5
Abrogation of Hn RNP L enhances anti-PD-1 therapy efficacy via diminishing PD-L1 and promoting CD8^(+) T cell-mediated ferroptosis in castration-resistant prostate cancer显示文摘Owing to incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)ultimately developing after treating with androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),it is vital to devise new therapeutic strategies to treat CRPC.Treatments that target programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1)have been approved for human cancers with clinical benefit. However, many patients, especially prostate cancer, fail to respond to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment,so it is an urgent need to seek a support strategy for improving the traditional PD-1/PD-L1 targeting immunotherapy. In the present study, analyzing the data from our prostate cancer tissue microarray,we found that PD-L1 expression was positively correlated with the expression of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L(Hn RNP L).Hence,we further investigated the potential role of Hn RNP L on the PD-L1 expression, the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing and the synergistic effect with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC.Indeed,Hn RNP L knockdown effectively decreased PD-L1 expression and recovered the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing in vitro and in vivo,on the contrary,Hn RNP L overexpression led to the opposite effect in CRPC cells. In addition, consistent with the previous study,we revealed that ferroptosis played a critical role in T-cell-induced cancer cell death, and Hn RNP L promoted the cancer immune escape partly through targeting YY1/PD-L1 axis and inhibiting ferroptosis in CRPC cells.Furthermore,Hn RNP L knockdown enhanced antitumor immunity by recruiting infiltrating CD8^(+)T cells and synergized with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC tumors. This study provided biological evidence that Hn RNP L knockdown might be a novel therapeutic agent in PD-L1/PD-1 blockade strategy that enhanced anti-tumor immune response in CRPC. | Xumin Zhou Libin Zou Hangyu Liao Junqi Luo Taowei Yang Jun Wu Wenbin Chen Kaihui Wu Shengren Cen Daojun Lv Fangpeng Shu Yu Yang Chun Li Bingkun Li Xiangming Mao | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 4
Effects of dietary tryptophan and stocking density on the performance, meat quality, and metabolic status of broilers显示文摘Background:Highly automated cage-rearing systems are becoming increasingly popular in China. However,a high stocking density can cause oxidative stress and decrease broiler performance. The tryptophan(TRP) derivative5-hydroxytryptophan(5-HT) has been shown to preserve membrane fluidity in birds suffering from oxidative stress. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to determine the effects of dietary TRP supplementation on performance, breast meat quality and oxidative stress in broilers reared in cages with a high or low stocking density. Methods:Female Arbor Acres broilers(25-d-old,n=144) were randomly allocated to 1 of 4 treatments. The birds were fed a diet based on corn, soybean meal, cottonseed meal and corn gluten meal containing either 0.18 or 0.27%TRP and were housed with stocking densities of 11 or 15.4 birds/m2 in a 2 × 2 factorial experiment.Broiler performance was evaluated from d 25 to 42.Eight birds from each treatment were slaughtered on d 42 and plasma and breast muscle samples were collected to measure biochemical indices. Results:A higher stocking density tended to be associated with reduced weight gain(P<0.10),and significantly increased plasma glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT) activity(P<0.001).Increased dietary TRP significantly reduced the activities of lactic dehydrogenase and GPT while increasing total cholesterol in the plasma(P<0.01),reducing drip loss of breast muscle(P<0.10) and improving feed efficiency(P<0.10).Conclusions:An increase in dietary TRP,1.5-fold higher than the standard supplementation level, can alleviate oxidative stress as well as improve welfare and feed efficiency in broilers reared in cages with a high stocking density. | Bo Wang Zhizhi Min Jianmin Yuan Bingkun Zhang Yuming Guo | 2015 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,1: | 4
Microbiome and ileum transcriptome revealed the boosting effects of selenium yeast on egg production in aged laying hens显示文摘The declines in laying performance during the late productionperiod have adverse effects on the length of theproduction cycle. Improving the nutrition of laying hens is a crucialmeasure to reverse this declination. Thisstudy investigatedthe effect of seleniumyeast (SY)on egg production, ileal gene expressionandmicrobiota, aswell as elucidating their associations in aged laying hens. A total of 375 Jinghong laying hens at 76weeks oldwere randomly assigned into 5 dietary treatments, which included a selenium-deficient basal diet based oncorn-soybean meal, and dietary supplementation of SY at 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45 mg/kg, and sodium selenite at0.45mg/kg.The results showed that SYamelioratedthe depressionin aged layingperformance inthe 0.30mg/kg group (P < 0.01). Selenium yeast significantly increased ileum selenium concentration (P < 0.05), and SYgroups had higher seleniumdeposition efficiency than the sodiumselenite group. Functional enrichment andShort Time-series Expression Miner (STEM) analysis indicated that SY activated metabolic progress (e.g.,glycerolipidmetabolism, glycerophospholipidmetabolism, andfattyacidmetabolism),immune responseandoxidative stress response. Four hub genes including thioredoxin reductase 1 (TXNRD1), dihydrolipoamidedehydrogenase (DLD), integrin linked kinase (ILK) and leucine zipper tumor suppressor 2 (LZTS2) wereinvolved in intestinal metabolismwhich was closely associated with selenium deposition/status. Moreover, the relative abundance of Veillonella, Turicibacter and Lactobacillus was significantly increased, but the relativeabundance of Stenotrophomonas was significantly decreased by SY supplementation. Multi-omics dataintegration and Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) showed that both the ileumselenium content andthe laying rate were highly correlated with pathways and bacteria enriched in metabolism and immuneresponse. Meanwhile, the “switched on” gene prostate stem cell antigen (PSCA) had a positive relationshipwith Veillonella and a negative relationship with the opportunistic pathogens Stenotrophomonas. Overall, ourstudy offered insight for the further exploration of the role of SY on boosting egg production and balancingileum intestinal flora in aged laying hens. | Zhexi Liu Yutao Cao Yue Ai Xiaonan Yin Linli Wang Mengyao Wang Bingkun Zhang Zhengxing Lian Keliang Wu Yuming Guo Hongbing Han | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,3: | 3

Boosting High-Rate Zinc-Storage Performance by the Rational Design of Mn_(2)O_(3) Nanoporous Architecture Cathode显示文摘Manganese oxides are regarded as one of the most promising cathode materials in rechargeable aqueous Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)because of the low price and high security. However, the practical application of Mn2O3 in ZIBs is still plagued by the low specific capacity and poor rate capability.Herein, highly crystalline Mn2O3 materials with interconnected mesostructures and controllable pore sizes are obtained via a ligand-assisted self-assembly process and used as high-performance electrode materials for reversible aqueous ZIBs.The coordination degree between Mn2+and citric acid ligand plays a crucial role in the formation of the mesostructure, and the pore sizes can be easily tuned from 3.2 to 7.3 nm.Ascribed to the unique feature of nanoporous architectures, excellent zinc-storage performance can be achieved in ZIBs during charge/discharge processes. The Mn2O3 electrode exhibits high reversible capacity(233 mAh g−1 at 0.3 A g−1),superior rate capability(162 mAh g−1 retains at 3.08 A g−1)and remarkable cycling durability over 3000 cycles at a high current rate of 3.08 A g−1.Moreover,the corresponding electrode reaction mechanism is studied in depth according to a series of analytical methods. These results suggest that rational design of the nanoporous architecture for electrode materials can effectively improve the battery performance. | Danyang Feng Tu‑Nan Gao Ling Zhang Bingkun Guo Shuyan Song Zhen‑An Qiao Sheng Dai | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,1: | 2

Interface engineering of high performance all-inorganic perovskite solar cells via low-temperature processed TiO2 nanopillar arrays显示文摘All-inorganic perovskite solar cells suffer from low performance due to unsatisfactory carrier transport and light harvesting efficiency.Semiconductor nanopillar arrays can reduce light reflection loss and suppress exciton recombination dynamics in optoelectronic devices. In all-inorganic perovskite solar cells, few studies employing TiO_(2)nanopillar arrays(TiO_(2)NaPAs)have been reported to improve the device performance.Herein,well-arranged TiO_(2)NaPAs are chosen to enhance the interfacial contact between perovskite and electron transporting layers for improving the carrier transport.Notably,TiO_(2)NaPAs can be directly fabricated on rigid/flexible substrates at roughly room temperature by unique glancing angle deposition, which is more available than high-temperature hydrothermal/solvothermal methods.By embedding TiO_(2)NaPAs into chemical processable CsPbI2Br layers, continuous and intimate films are readily formed, guaranteeing large physical contact for facilitating more effective electron injection and charge separation. The vertically grown TiO_(2)NaPAs also provide a straightforward electron transporting path to electrodes. In addition,TiO_(2)NaPAs can guide the incident light and enhance the light-harvesting ability of CsPbI2Br films. As a result, the solar cell with TiO_(2)NaPAs displays a power conversion efficiency of 11.35%higher than planar control of 10.04%,and exhibits better long-term thermal stability. This strategy provides an opportunity by constructing direct interfacial regulation towards the performance improvement of inorganic perovskite solar cells. | Bingkun Pan Jiahao Gu Xiaoli Xu Lingbo Xiao Jie Zhao Guifu Zou | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,10: | 2
Soliton regulation in microcavities induced by fundamental–second-harmonic mode coupling显示文摘Microcomb generation with simultaneous χ2 and χ3 nonlinearities brings new possibilities for ultrabroadband and potentially self-referenced integrated comb sources. However, the evolution of the intracavity field involving multiple nonlinear processes shows complex dynamics that are still poorly understood. Here, we report on strong soliton regulation induced by fundamental–second-harmonic(FD-SH) mode coupling. The formation of solitons from chaos is extensively investigated based on coupled Lugiato–Lefever equations. The soliton generation shows more deterministic behaviors in the presence of FD-SH mode interaction, which is in sharp contrast with the usual cases where the soliton number and relative locations are stochastic. Deterministic single soliton transition, soliton binding, and prohibition are observed, depending on the phase-matching condition and coupling coefficient between the fundamental and second-harmonic waves. Our finding provides important new insights into the soliton dynamics in microcavities with simultaneous χ~2and χ~3nonlinearities and can be immediate guidance for broadband soliton comb generation with such platforms. | XIAOXIAO XUE XIAOPING ZHENG BINGKUN ZHOU | 2018 | Photonics Research2018,6,10: | 2
Dispersion-less Kerr solitons in spectrally confined optical cavities显示文摘Solitons are self-reinforcing localized wave packets that manifest in the major areas of nonlinear science, from optics to biology and Bose-Einstein condensates.Recently, optically driven dissipative solitons have attracted great attention for the implementation of the chip-scale frequency combs that are decisive for communications, spectroscopy, neural computing, and quantum information processing. In the current understanding, the generation of temporal solitons involves the chromatic dispersion as a key enabling physical effect, acting either globally or locally on the cavity dynamics in a decisive way. Here,we report on a novel class of solitons, both theoretically and experimentally, which builds up in spectrally confined optical cavities when dispersion is practically absent, both globally and locally.Precisely, the interplay between the Kerr nonlinearity and spectral filtering results in an infiinite hierarchy of eigenfunctions which, combined with optical gain, allow for the generation of stable dispersion-less dissipative solitons in a previously unexplored regime. When the filter order tends to infinity,we find an unexpected link between dissipative and conservative solitons,in the form of Nyquist-pulse-like solitons endowed with an ultra-flat spectrum. In contrast to the conventional dispersion-enabled nonlinear Schr?dinger solitons, these dispersion-less Nyquist solitons build on a fully confined spectrum and their energy scaling is not constrained by the pulse duration.Dispersion-less soliton molecules and their deterministic transitioning to single solitons are also evidenced. These findings broaden the fundamental scope of the dissipative soliton paradigm and open new avenues for generating soliton pulses and frequency combs endowed with unprecedented temporal and spectral features. | Xiaoxiao Xue Philippe Grelu Bofan Yang Mian Wang Shangyuan Li Xiaoping Zheng Bingkun Zhou | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,1: | 1

Integrating reduced graphene oxides and PPy nanoparticles for enhanced electricity from water evaporation显示文摘Developing high-performance nanostructured materials is key to deliver the potential of hydrovoltaic technology into practical applications. As single-component materials have approached its limit in generating hydrovoltaic electricity, the development of multi-component hydrovoltaic materials has been necessary in continuously boosting the electricity output. Here,we report a hydrovoltaic material by integrating reduced graphene oxides and polypyrrole nanoparticles(rGO/PPy),where the rGO contributes improved conductivity and large specific surface area while PPy nanoparticles enable enhanced interaction with water. The device fabricated with this material generates a short-circuit current of 6μA as well as a maximum power density of over 1μW/cm3 from natural evaporation of water. And the substantial ion-PPy interaction enables robust voltage generation from evaporation of various salt solutions. Moreover,an outstanding scaling ability is demonstrated by connecting 10 devices in series that generate a sustainable voltage of up to~2.5 V,sufficing to power many commercial devices,e.g.LED bulb and LCD screen. | Bingkun Tian Xiaofeng Jiang Weicun Chu Chunxiao Zheng Wanlin Guo Zhuhua Zhang | 2023 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2023,14,2: | 1
