| 1 | Genomic regions underlying agronomic traits in linseed(Linum usitatissimum L.) as revealed by association mapping显示文摘The extremeclimate of the Canadian Prairies poses a major challenge to improve yield. Although it is possible to breed for yield per se, focusing on yield-related traits could be advantageous because of their simpler genetic architecture.The Canadian flax core collection of 390 accessions was genotyped with 464 simple sequence repeat markers, and phenotypic data for nine agronomic traits including yield, bolls per area, 1,000 seed weight, seeds per boll, start of flowering,end of flowering, plant height, plant branching, and lodging collected from up to eight environments was used for association mapping. Based on a mixed model (principal component analysis (PCA)tkinship matrix (K)), 12 significant marker-trait associations for six agronomic traits were identified.Most of the associations were stable across environments as revealed by multivariate analyses. Statistical simulation for five markers associated with 1000 seed weight indicated that the favorable alleles have additive effects. None of the modern cultivars carried the five favorable alleles and the maximum number of four observed in any accessions was mostly in breeding lines. | 2 | Pyrolysis-induced shrinking of threedimensional structures fabricated by twophoton polymerization:experiment and theoretical model显示文摘The introduction of two-photon polymerization(TPP)into the area of Carbon Micro Electromechanical Systems(CMEMS)has enabled the fabrication of three-dimensional glassy carbon nanostructures with geometries previously unattainable through conventional UV lithography.Pyrolysis of TPP structures conveys a characteristic reduction of feature size—one that should be properly estimated in order to produce carbon microdevices with accuracy.In this work,we studied the volumetric shrinkage of TPP-derived microwires upon pyrolysis at 900℃.Through this process,photoresist microwires thermally decompose and shrink by as much as 75%,resulting in glassy carbon nanowires with linewidths between 300 and 550 nm.Even after the thermal decomposition induced by the pyrolysis step,the linewidth of the carbon nanowires was found to be dependent on the TPP exposure parameters.We have also found that the thermal stress induced during the pyrolysis step not only results in axial elongation of the nanowires,but also in buckling in the case of slender carbon nanowires(for aspect ratios greater than 30).Furthermore,we show that the calculated residual mass fraction that remains after pyrolysis depends on the characteristic dimensions of the photoresist microwires,a trend that is consistent with several works found in the literature.This phenomenon is explained through a semi-empirical model that estimates the feature size of the carbon structures,serving as a simple guideline for shrinkage evaluation in other designs. | Braulio Cardenas-Benitez Carsten Eschenbaum Dario Mager Jan G.Korvink Marc JMadou Uli Lemmer Israel De Leon Sergio O.Martinez-Chapa | 2019 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2019,5,1: | 2 |

| 6 | Perspectives in multilevel decision-making in the process industry显示文摘Decisions in supply chains are hierarchically organized. Strategic decisions involve the long-term planning of the structure of the supply chain network.Tactical decisions are mid-term plans to allocate the production and distribution of materials, while operational decisions are related to the daily planning of the execution of manufacturing operations. These planning processes are conducted independently with minimal exchange of information between them. Achieving a better coordination between these processes allows companies to capture benefits that are currently out of their reach and improve the communication among their functional areas. We propose a network representation for the multilevel decision structure and analyze the components that are involved in finding integrated solutions that maximize the sum of the benefits of all nodes of the decision network.Although such task is very challenging, significant research progress has been made in each component of this structure. An overview of strategic models, mid-term planning models, and scheduling models is presented to address the solution of each node in the decision network.Coordination mechanisms for converging the integrated solutions are also analyzed, including solving large-scale models, multiobjective optimization, bi-level programming, and decomposition. For this reason, the objective of this work was to describe the effect of age and dissociative anesthetics (ketamine and tiletamine), and their combinations with acepromazine, xylazine and zolazepam, on the physiological and blood biochemical parameters in Macaca mulatta. Methods: Eighty male Macaca mulatta were divided into four experimental groups depending on the anesthetic mixture applied. Each group of 20 males was divided into five sub‐groups according to age. Physiological parameters were recorded every five minutes during a 30‐minute period. A blood sample was drawn to analyze blood biochemistry. Results: Statistical analyses revealed significant differences in the physiological parameters between the ketamine‐acepromazine and ketamine‐xylazine groups compared to the control group. The analysis of blood biochemistry found significant differences by age and by anesthetic mixture among all groups.
