1A Facile Method to Improve the High Rate Capability of Co_(3)O_(4)Nanowire Array Electrodes显示文摘The capability of fast charge and fast discharge is highly desirable for the electrode materials used in supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries.In this article,we report a simple strategy to considerably improve the high rate capability of Co_(3)O_(4)nanowire array electrodes by uniformly loading Ag nanoparticles onto the surfaces of the Co_(3)O_(4)nanowires via the silver-mirror reaction.The highly electrically conductive silver nanoparticles function as a network for the facile transport of electrons between the current collectors(Ti substrates)and the Co_(3)O_(4)active materials.High capacity as well as remarkable rate capability has been achieved through this simple approach.Such novel Co_(3)O_(4)-Ag composite nanowire array electrodes have great potential for practical applications in pseudo-type supercapacitors as well as in lithium ion batteries.Hua Cheng Zhou Guang Lu Jian Qiu Deng C.Y.Chung Kaili Zhang Yang Yang Li 2010Nano Research2010,3,12:12
2In situ synthesis of nanostructured titania film on NiTi shape memory alloy by Fenton’s oxidation method显示文摘Fenton’s oxidation method was successfully used to synthesize an ideal titania film in situ on NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA) for medical applications. Characterized with scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and electrochemical tests, it is found that the titania film produced by Fenton’s oxidation method on NiTi SMA is nanostructured and has a Ni-free zone near its top surface, which results in a notable improvement in corrosion resistance and a remarkable decrease in leaching of harmful Ni ions from NiTi SMA in simulated body fluids. 4Secure Probabilistic Prediction of Dynamic Thermal Line Rating显示文摘Accurate short-term prediction of overhead line(OHL)transmission ampacity can directly affect the efficiency of power system operation and planning.Any overcstiniation of the dynamic thermal line rating(DTLR)can lead to the lifetime degradation and failure of OHLs,safety hazards,etc.This paper presents a secure yet sharp probabilistic model for the hour-ahead prediction of the DTLR.The security of the proposed DTLR limits the frequency of DTLR prediction exceeding the actual DTLR.The model is based on an augmented deep learning architecture that makes use of a wide range of predictors,including historical climatology data and latent variables obtained during DTLR calculation.Furthermore,by introducing a customized cost function,the deep neural network is trained to consider the DTLR security based on the required probability of exceedance while minimizing the deviations of the predicted DTLRs from the actual values.The proposed probabilistic DTLR is developed and verified using recorded experimental data.The simulation results validate the superiority of the proposed DTLR compared with the state-of-the-art prediction models using well-known evaluation metrics.N.Safari S.M.Mazhari C.Y.Chung S.B.Ko 2022Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,2:1
5Dynamic-decision-based Real-time Dispatch for Reducing Constraint Violations显示文摘This paper proposes a dynamic-decision-based realtime dispatch method to coordinate the economic objective with multiple types of security dispatch objectives while reducing constraint violations in the process of adjusting the system operation point to the optimum.In each decision moment,the following tasks are executed in turn:①locally linearizing the system model at the current operation point with the online model identification by using measurements;②narrowing down the gaps between unsatisfied security requirements and their security thresholds in order of priority;③minimizing the generation cost;④minimizing the security indicators within their security thresholds.Compared with the existing real-time dispatch strategies,the proposed method can adjust the deviations caused by unpredictable power flow fluctuations,avoid dispatch bias caused by model parameter errors,and reduce the constraint violations in the dispatch decision process.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified with the IEEE 39-bus system.Lingshu Zhong Junbo Zhang C.Y.Chung Yuzhong Gong Lin Guan 2022Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,4:0
6Data-driven Static Equivalence with Physics-informed Koopman Operators显示文摘With deployment of measurement units,fitting static equivalent models of distribution networks(DNs)by linear regression has been recognized as an effective method in power flow analysis of a transmission network.Increasing volatility of measurements caused by variable distributed renewable energy sources makes it more difficult to accurately fit such equivalent models.To tackle this challenge,this letter proposes a novel data-driven method to improve equivalency accuracy of DNs with distributed energy resources.This letter provides a new perspective that an equivalent model can be regarded as a mapping from internal conditions and border voltages to border power injections.Such mapping can be established through 1)Koopman operator theory,and 2)physical features of power flow equations at the root node of a DN.Performance of the proposed method is demonstrated on the IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 136-bus test systems connected to a 661-bus utility system.Wei Lin Changhong Zhao Maosheng Gao C.Y.Chung 2024CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2024,10,1:0
7Hierarchical Frequency-dependent Chance Constrained Unit Commitment for Bulk AC/DC Hybrid Power Systems with Wind Power Generation显示文摘As the steady-state frequency of an actual power system decreases from its nominal value,the composite load of the system generally responds positively to lower power consumption,and vice versa.It is believed that this load frequency damping(LFD)effect will be artificially enhanced,i.e.,sensitivities of loads with respect to operational frequency will increase,in future power systems.Thus,for wind-integrated power systems,this paper proposes a frequency-dependent chance constrained unit commitment(FDCCUC)model that employs the operational frequency as a dispatching variable so that the LFD effect-based load power can act as a supplemental reserve.Because the frequency deviation is safely restricted,this low-cost reserve can be sufficiently exerted to upgrade the wind power accommodation capability of a power system that is normally confined by an inadequate reserve to cope with uncertain wind power forecasting error.Moreover,when the FDCCUC model is applied to a bulk AC/DC hybrid power system consisting of several independently operated regional AC grids interconnected by DC tie-lines,a hierarchically implemented searching algorithm is proposed to protect private scheduling information of the regional AC grids.Simulations on a 2-area 6-bus system and a 3-area 354-bus system verify the effectiveness of the FDCCUC model and hierarchical searching algorithm.Rui Chen Deping Ke Yuanzhang Sun C.Y.Chung Haotian Wu Siyang Liao Jian Xu Congying Wei 2023Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2023,11,4:0

9Mg-Ni THIN FILM-A POTENTIAL NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR NIKEL-METAL HYDRIDE BATTERY显示文摘Mg-Ni thin films for nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery negative electrode were prepared on three different substrates by using magnetron sputtering with compacted Ni and Mg mixture powder. The microstructure of Mg-Ni thin films deposited on the glass and the Ni foil substrate respectively was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD)and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
