| 1 | Can phosphate compounds be used to reduce the plant uptake of Pb and resist the Pb stress in Pb-contaminated soils?显示文摘The effects of different phosphate-amendments on lead(Pb) uptake,the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the level of malondialdehyde(MDA) in cauliflower(Brassica oleracea L.) in contaminated soils with 2500,or 5000 mg P2O5/kg soil of hydroxyapatite(HA),phosphate rock(PR),single-superphosphate(SSP) and the mix of HA/SSP(HASSP) were evaluated in pot experiments.Results showed that the Pb concentrations in shoots and roots decreased by 18.3%-51.6% and 16.8%-57.3% among the treatments respectively compared to the control samples.The effciency order of these phosphate-amendments in reducing Pb uptake was as follows:HASSP≈ HA > SSP ≈ PR.With the addition of SSP,HA and the mix of HA/SSP,the SOD activity in shoot was reduced markedly(P < 0.05) compared with that in the control group.For example,the SOD activities in shoot by the treatments of HASSP,SSP,and HA in 5000 mg P2O5/kg were found to be only 51.3%,56.2%,and 56.7%,respectively.Similar effects were also observed on the level of MDA in the shoots with a decrease in 24.5%-56.3%.The results verified the inference that phosphate compounds could be used to reduce the plant uptake of Pb and resist the Pb stress in the plant vegetated in Pb-contaminated soils. | CHEN Shibao CHEN Li MA Yibing HUANG Yizong | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3: | 3 |

| 3 | Salt stress-induced changes in soil metabolites promote cadmium transport into wheat tissues显示文摘Soil salinity is known to improve cadmium(Cd)mobility,especially in arid soils.However,the mechanisms involved in how salt stress-associated metabolic profiles participate in mediating Cd transport in the soil-plant system remain poorly understood.This study was designed to investigate the effects of salinity-induced changes in soil metabolites on Cd bioavailability.Sodium salts in different combinations according to molar ratio(NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4)=1:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3)=1:2:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3):Na_(2)CO_(3)=1:9:9:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3):Na_(2)CO_(3)=1:1:1:1)were applied to the Cd-contaminated soils,which increased soil Cd availability by 22.36%and the Cd content in wheat grains by 36.61%,compared to the control.Salt stress resulted in soil metabolic reprogramming,which might explain the decreased growth of wheat plants and increased Cd transport from the soil into wheat tissues.For example,down-regulation of starch and sucrose metabolism reduced the production of sugars,which adversely affected growth;up-regulation of fatty acid metabolism allowed wheat plants to maintain a normal intracellular environment under saline conditions;up-regulation of the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle was triggered,causing an increase in organic acid synthesis and the accumulation of organic acids,which facilitated the migration of soil Cd into wheat tissues.In summary,salt stress can facilitate Cd transport into wheat tissues by the direct effect of salt-based ions and the combined effect of altered soil physicochemical properties and soil metabolic profiles in Cd-contaminated soils. | Lifu Wang Luyao Qin Xiaoyi Sun Shuwen Zhao Lei Yu Shibao Chen Meng Wang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5: | 1 |

| 10 | Cellular Cd^(2+)fluxes in roots confirm increased Cd availability to rice(Oryza sativa L.)induced by soil acidifications显示文摘Soil acidifications become one of the main causes restricting the sustainable development of agriculture and causing issues of agricultural product safety.In order to explore the effect of different acidification on soil cadmium(Cd)availability,soil pot culture and hydroponic(soil potting solution extraction)were applied,and non-invasive micro-test technique(NMT)was combined.Here three different soil acidification processes were simulated,including direct acidification by adding sulfuric acid(AP1),acid rain acidification(AP2)by adding artificial simulated acid rain and excessive fertilization acidification by adding(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)(AP3).The results showed that for direct acidification(AP1),DTPA-Cd concentration in field soils in Liaoning(S1)and Zhejiang(S2)increased by 0.167-0.217 mg/kg and 0.181-0.346 mg/kg,respectively,compared with control group.When soil pH decreased by 0.45 units in S1,the Cd content of rice stems,leaves and roots increased by 0.48 to 6.04 mg/kg and 2.58 to 12.84mg/kg,respectively,When the pH value of soil S1 and S2 decreased by 0.20 units,the average velocity of Cd^(2+)at 200μm increased by 10.03-33.11 pmol/cm~2/sec and 21.33-52.86pmol/cm^(2)/sec,respectively,and followed the order of AP3>AP2>AP1.In summary,different acidification measures would improve the effectiveness of Cd,under the same pH reduction condition,fertilization acidification increased Cd availability most significantly. | Xiaoyi Sun Meng Wang Luyao Qin Lei Yu Jing Wang Han Zheng Wenneng Zhou Shibao Chen | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,5: | 0 |
| 11 | Epidemiological and clinical features,treatment status,and economic burden of traumatic spinal cord injury in China:a hospital-based retrospective study显示文摘Traumatic spinal cord injury is potentially catastrophic and can lead to permanent disability or even death.China has the largest population of patients with traumatic spinal cord injury.Previous studies of traumatic spinal cord injury in China have mostly been regional in scope;national-level studies have been rare.To the best of our knowledge,no national-level study of treatment status and economic burden has been performed.This retrospective study aimed to examine the epidemiological and clinical features,treatment status,and economic burden of traumatic spinal cord injury in China at the national level.We included 13,465 traumatic spinal cord injury patients who were injured between January 2013 and December 2018 and treated in 30 hospitals in 11 provinces/municipalities representing all geographical divisions of China.Patient epidemiological and clinical features,treatment status,and total and daily costs were recorded.Trends in the percentage of traumatic spinal cord injuries among all hospitalized patients and among patients hospitalized in the orthopedic department and cost of care were assessed by annual percentage change using the Joinpoint Regression Program.The percentage of traumatic spinal cord injuries among all hospitalized patients and among patients hospitalized in the orthopedic department did not significantly change overall(annual percentage change,-0.5%and 2.1%,respectively).A total of 10,053(74.7%)patients underwent surgery.Only 2.8%of patients who underwent surgery did so within 24 hours of injury.A total of 2005(14.9%)patients were treated with high-dose(≥500 mg)methylprednisolone sodium succinate/methylprednisolone(MPSS/MP);615(4.6%)received it within 8 hours.The total cost for acute traumatic spinal cord injury decreased over the study period(-4.7%),while daily cost did not significantly change(1.0%increase).Our findings indicate that public health initiatives should aim at improving hospitals’ability to complete early surgery within 24 hours,which is associated with improved sensorimotor recovery,increasing the awareness rate of clinical guidelines related to high-dose MPSS/MP to reduce the use of the treatment with insufficient evidence. | Hengxing Zhou Yongfu Lou Lingxiao Chen Yi Kang Lu Liu Zhiwei Cai David BAnderson Wei Wang Chi Zhang Jinghua Wang Guangzhi Ning Yanzheng Gao Baorong He Wenyuan Ding Yisheng Wang Wei Mei Yueming Song Yue Zhou Maosheng Xia Huan Wang Jie Zhao Guoyong Yin Tao Zhang Feng Jing Rusen Zhu Bin Meng Li Duan Zhongmin Zhang Desheng Wu Zhengdong Cai Lin Huang Zhanhai Yin Kainan Li Shibao Lu Shiqing Feng | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,5: | 0 |
| 12 | Effects of mixed fertilizers formed by the compounding of two targeted controlled-release nitrogen fertilizers on yield,nitrogen use efficiency,and ammonia volatilization in double-cropping rice显示文摘One-time application of mixed fertilizer formed by the compounding of two controlled-release nitrogen fertilizers(CRUs)with targeted N supply during the periods from transplantation(TS)to panicle initiation(PI)and from PI to heading(HS)is expected to synchronize the double-peak N demand of rice.However,its effects on the yield and N use efficiency(NUE)of labor-intensive double-cropping rice were unknown.Two targeted CRU(CRU_(A)and CRU_(B))were compounded in five ratios(CRU_(A):CRU_(B)=10:0,7:3,5:5,3:7,and 0:10)to form five mixed fertilizers(BBFs):BBF1-5.A field experiment was performed to investigate the characteristics of N supply in early and late seasons under different BBFs and their effects on N uptake,yield,and ammonia volatilization(AV)loss from paddy fields of double-cropping rice.Conventional high-yield fertilization(CK,three split applications of urea)and zero-N treatments were established as controls.The N supply dropped significantly with the increased compound ratio of CRU_(B)during the period from TS to PI,but increased during the period from PI to HS.With the exception of the period from TS to PI in the late rice season,the N uptake of early and late rice maintained close synchronicity with the N supply of BBFs during the double-peak periods.Excessive N supply(BBF1 and BBF2)in the late rice season during the period from TS to PI increased N loss by AV.The effect of BBF on grain yield increase varied widely between seasons,irrespective of year.Among the BBFs,the BBF2 treatment of early rice not only stabilized the spikelets per panicle but also ensured a high number of effective panicles by promoting N uptake during the period from TS to PI and a high grain-filling percentage by appropriately reducing the N supply at the later PI stage,resulting in the highest rice yield.While stabilizing the effective panicle number,the BBF4 treatment of late rice increased the number of spikelets per panicle by promoting N uptake during the period from PI to HS,resulting in the highest rice yield.The two-year average yield and apparent N recovery efficiency of the BBF2 treatment during the early rice season were 9.6 t ha 1 and 45.3%,while those of late rice in BBF4 were 9.6 t ha 1 and 43.0%,respectively.The yield and NUE indexes of BBF2 in early rice and BBF4 in late rice showed no significant difference from those of CK.The AVs of BBF2 during the early rice season and of BBF4 during the late rice season were 50.0%and 76.8%lower,respectively,than those of CK.BBF2 and BBF4 could effectively replace conventional urea split fertilization in early and late rice seasons,ensuring rice yield and NUE and reducing AV loss in paddy fields. | Jian Ke Jie Sun Tingting Chen Shibao Tao Tiezhong Zhu Chuanjun Yin Haibing He Cuicui You Liquan Wu Shuangshuang Guo | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,2: | 0 |
| 13 | Application of Nativo in Control against Cucumber Powdery Mildew显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to explore application of nativo in control against cucumber powdery mildew.[Method]Taking 'Zhenghuang 3' cucumber as the material,the effects of nativo on growth of cucumber at different periods were studied by soaking seeds and spraying treatment on stems and leaves.The field efficacy trial against powdery mildew was also carried out to comprehensively evaluate control effect of nativo against powdery mildew.[Result]Seed soaking by nativo had good preventive effect on powdery mildew,while plant height,root length and increase rate of stem diameter were significantly lower than that of hexaconazole.Rates of plant height inhibition were 15.62% and 4.65% at seedling and flowering stage after spraying 60mg/L of nativo,respectively, which were significantly lower than that of hexaconazole.The control efficacies of nativo were 73.82%-84.26% in field trial,which was as good as that of hexaconazole but higher than that of Topsin-M.[Conclusion]Nativo is safe to growth of cucumber,with good control effect on powdery mildew.It can be used as an alternative fungicide to control cucumber powdery. | Guo Shibao Chen Junhua Shi Hongzhong Hu Kongfeng Xiong Jianwei | 2013 | Plant Diseases and Pests2013,4,6: | 0 |
