| 1 | Biocompatibility of nano-hydroxyapatite/Mg-Zn-Ca alloy composite scaffolds to human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells from Wharton's jelly in vitro显示文摘Seeding cells and scaffolds play pivotal roles in bone tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.Wharton’s jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells(WJCs)from human umbilical cord represent attractive and promising seeding cells in tissue regeneration and engineering for treatment applications.This study was carried out to explore the biocompatibility of scaffolds to seeding cells in vitro.Rod-like nano-hydroxyapatite(RN-HA)and flake-like micro-hydroxyapatite(FM-HA)coatings were prepared on Mg-Zn-Ca alloy substrates using micro-arc oxidation and electrochemical deposition.WJCs were utilized to investigate the cellular biocompatibility of Mg-Zn-Ca alloys after different surface modifications by observing the cell adhesion,morphology,proliferation,and osteoblastic differentiation.The in vitro results indicated that the RN-HA coating group was more suitable for cell proliferation and cell osteoblastic differentiation than the FM-HA group,demonstrating better biocompatibility.Our results suggested that the RN-HA coating on Mg-Zn-Ca alloy substrates might be of great potential in bone tissue engineering. | GUAN FangXia MA ShanShan SHI XinYi MA Xun CHI LianKai LIANG Shuo CUI YuanBo WANG ZhiBin YAO Ning GUAN ShaoKang YANG Bo | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2: | 4 |
| 2 | Shifting from homogeneous to heterogeneous surfaces in estimating terrestrial evapotranspiration: Review and perspectives显示文摘Terrestrial evapotranspiration(ET)is a crucial link between Earth’s water cycle and the surface energy budget.Accurate measurement and estimation remain a major challenge in geophysical,biological,and environmental studies.Pioneering work,represented by Dalton and Penman,and the development of theories and experiments on turbulent exchange in the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL),laid the foundation for mainstream methodologies in ET estimation.Since the 1990s,eddy covariance(EC)systems and satellite remote sensing have been widely applied from cold to tropical and from arid to humid regions.They cover water surfaces,wetlands,forests,croplands,grasslands,barelands,and urban areas,offering an exceptional number of reports on diverse ET processes.Surface nocturnal ET,hysteresis between ET and environmental forces,turbulence intermittency,island effects on heterogeneous surfaces,and phase transition between underlying surfaces are examples of reported new phenomena,posing theoretical and practical challenges to mainstream ET methodologies.Additionally,based on non-conventional theories,new methods have emerged,such as maximum entropy production and nonparametric approaches.Furthermore,high-frequency on-site observation and aerospace remote sensing technology in combination form multi-scale observations across plant stomata,leaves,plants,canopies,landscapes,and basins.This promotes an insightful understanding of diverse ET processes and synthesizes the common mechanisms of the processes between and across spatial and temporal scales.All the recent achievements in conception,model,and technology serve as the basis for breaking through the known difficulties in ET estimation.We expect that they will provide a rigorous,reliable scientific basis and experimental support to address theoretical arguments of global significance,such as the water-heat-carbon cycle,and solve practical needs of national importance,including agricultural irrigation and food security,precise management of water resources and eco-environmental protection,and regulation of the urban thermal environment and climate change adaptation. | Yuanbo LIU Guoyu QIU Hongsheng ZHANG Yonghui YANG Yinsheng ZHANG Quan WANG Wenzhi ZHAO Li JIA Xibin JI Yujiu XIONG Chunhua YAN Ning MA Shumin HAN Yifan CUI | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Treatment of secondary central nervous system involvement in systemic aggressive B cell lymphoma using R-MIADD chemotherapy:a single-center study显示文摘Background:Secondary central nervous system lymphoma(SCNSL)is defined as lymphoma involvement within the central nervous system(CNS)that originated elsewhere,or a CNS relapse of systemic lymphoma.Prognosis of SCNSL is poor and the most appropriate treatment is still undetermined.Methods:We conducted a retrospective study to assess the feasibility of an R-MIADD(rituximab,high-dose methotrexate,ifosfamide,cytarabine,liposomal formulation of doxorubicin,and dexamethasone)regimen for SCNSL patients.Results:Nineteen patients with newly diagnosed CNS lesions were selected,with a median age of 58(range 20 to 72)years.Out of 19 patients,11(57.9%)achieved complete remission(CR)and 2(10.5%)achieved partial remission(PR);the overall response rate was 68.4%.The median progression-free survival after CNS involvement was 28.0 months(95%confidence interval 11.0–44.9),and the median overall survival after CNS involvement was 34.5 months.Treatment-related death occurred in one patient(5.3%).Conclusions:These single-centered data underscore the feasibility of an R-MIADD regimen as the induction therapy of SCNSL,further investigation is warranted. | Yuchen Wu Xuefei Sun Xueyan Bai Jun Qian Hong Zhu Qu Cui Ruixian Xing Yuedan Chen Qing Liu Wenyuan Lai Junhong Li Yaming Wang Shengjun Sun Nan Ji Yuanbo Liu | 2021 | Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2021,7,2: | 0 |
