| 1 | A computational cognition model of perception,memory,and judgment显示文摘The mechanism of human cognition and its computability provide an important theoretical foundation to intelligent computation of visual media.This paper focuses on the intelligent processing of massive data of visual media and its corresponding processes of perception,memory,and judgment in cognition.In particular,both the human cognitive mechanism and cognitive computability of visual media are investigated in this paper at the following three levels:neurophysiology,cognitive psychology,and computational modeling.A computational cognition model of Perception,Memory,and Judgment(PMJ model for short)is proposed,which consists of three stages and three pathways by integrating the cognitive mechanism and computability aspects in a unified framework.Finally,this paper illustrates the applications of the proposed PMJ model in five visual media research areas.As demonstrated by these applications,the PMJ model sheds some light on the intelligent processing of visual media,and it would be innovative for researchers to apply human cognitive mechanism to computer science. | FU XiaoLan CAI LianHong LIU Ye JIA Jia CHEN WenFeng YI Zhang ZHAO GuoZhen LIU YongJin WU ChangXu | 2014 | Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,3: | 10 |
| 2 | Isolation of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone and Its Receptor Genes from Scatophagus argus and Their Expression Analyses显示文摘The teleost Scatophagus argus is a species whose females grows faster than males.Growth hormone(gh)mRNA abundance in females pituitary is higher than that in males;however the mechanism underlining such differential is still unknown.Growth hormone(GH)is tightly associated with GH-releasing hormone(Ghrh)in vertebrates.In this study,Ghrh gene(ghrh)and its receptor gene,ghrhr,were isolated from S.argus.Tissue expression analysis showed that ghrh and ghrhr were mainly expressed in hypothalamus while ghrhr was expressed in pituitary and gh was predominantly expressed in pituitary.Twenty cultured S.argus individuals were used to compare ghrh,ghrhr and gh mRNA abundances,120 g and 181 g average weight for male(n=11)and female(n=9),respectively.Real-time PCR indicated that the ghrh and ghrhr mRNA abundances in male hypothalamus were significantly higher than those in female hypothalamus while that of gh mRNA abundance was significantly higher in female pituitary than in male pituitary.The ghrh and ghrhr mRNA abundances were significantly up-regulated in female hypothalamus 3 h after injection of 0.1 mg kg^-1 body weight Ghrh while pituitary ghrhr and gh mRNA abundances were not affected.In female hypothalamus,ghrh and ghrhr m RNA abundances were not affected at 6 h post-injection of 4 mg kg^-1 body weight 17α-methyltes-tosterone(17α-MT)or 17β-Estradiol(E2).In female pituitary,ghrhr m RNA abundance was down-regulated by 17α-MT while that of gh m RNA abundance was up-regulated by E2.Our findings indicated that E2,rather than Ghrh,plays an important role in up-regulating the expression of gh in female S.argus,which should aid to understand the sexual dimorphism of teleost growth. | JIANG Dongneng SHI Hongjuan LIU Qianqing WANG Tuo HUANG Yuanqing HUANG Yang DENG Siping CHEN Huapu TIAN Changxu ZHU Chunhua LI Guangli | 2019 | Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6: | 6 |
| 3 | Topologically Protected Edge State in Two-Dimensional Su–Schrieffer–Heeger Circuit显示文摘Topological circuits,an exciting feld just emerged over the last two years,have become a very accessible platform for realizing and exploring topological physics,with many of their physical phenomena and potential applications as yet to be discovered.In this work,we design and experimentally demonstrate a topologically nontrivial band structure and the associated topologically protected edge states in an RF circuit,which is composed of a collection of grounded capacitors connected by alternating inductors in the x and y directions,in analogy to the Su–Schriefer–Heeger model.We take full control of the topological invariant(i.e.,Zak phase)as well as the gap width of the band structure by simply tuning the circuit parameters.Excellent agreement is found between the experimental and simulation results,both showing obvious nontrivial edge state that is tightly bound to the circuit boundaries with extreme robustness against various types of defects.Te demonstration of topological properties in circuits provides a convenient and fexible platform for studying topological materials and the possibility for developing fexible circuits with highly robust circuit performance. | Shuo Liu Wenlong Gao Qian Zhang Shaojie Ma Lei Zhang Changxu Liu Yuan Jiang Xiang Tie Jun Cui Shuang Zhang | 2019 | Research2019,,1: | 6 |

| 5 | Single-step-fabricated disordered metasurfaces for enhanced light extraction from LEDs显示文摘While total internal reflection(TIR)lays the foundation for many important applications,foremost fibre optics that revolutionised information technologies,it is undesirable in some other applications such as light-emitting diodes(LEDs),which are a backbone for energy-efficient light sources.In the case of LEDs,TIR prevents photons from escaping the constituent high-index materials.Advances in material science have led to good efficiencies in generating photons from electron–hole pairs,making light extraction the bottleneck of the overall efficiency of LEDs.In recent years,the extraction efficiency has been improved,using nanostructures at the semiconductor/air interface that outcouple trapped photons to the outside continuum.However,the design of geometrical features for light extraction with sizes comparable to or smaller than the optical wavelength always requires sophisticated and timeconsuming fabrication,which causes a gap between lab demonstration and industrial-level applications.Inspired by lightning bugs,we propose and realise a disordered metasurface for light extraction throughout the visible spectrum,achieved with single-step fabrication.By applying such a cost-effective light extraction layer,we improve the external quantum efficiency by a factor of 1.65 for commercialised GaN LEDs,demonstrating a substantial potential for global energy-saving and sustainability. | Peng Mao Changxu Liu Xiyan Li Mengxia Liu Qiang Chen Min Han Stefan A.Maier Edward H.Sargent Shuang Zhang | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,10: | 1 |

| 9 | Effect of Fertilizer Application on the Yield of Walnut (Juglans regia L.)显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the fertilization ratio of walnut, so as to provide a basis for rational fertilization of walnut. [Methods] Under the condition of gravelly yellow soil in Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, the orthogonal design of L_9(3~4) was used to test the fertilization ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. [Results] The effects of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on walnut yield ranked as phosphate fertilizer>potassium fertilizer>nitrogen fertilizer. The different treatments had great effects on the yield of walnut, and for the land with gravelly yellow soil, the suitable annual fertilization amount of walnut was urea 1 200 g/plant + calcium superphosphate 1 500 g/plant + potassium sulfate 940 g/plant. | 13 | A nomogram-based immune-serum scoring system predicts overall survival in patients with lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Objective:The immunoscore,which is used to quantify immune infiltrates,has greater relative prognostic value than tumor,node,and metastasis(TNM)stage and might serve as a new system for classification of colorectal cancer.However,a comparable immunoscore for predicting lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)prognosis is currently lacking.Methods:We analyzed the expression of 18 immune features by immunohistochemistry in 171 specimens.The relationship of immune marker expression and clinicopathologic factors to the overall survival(OS)was analyzed with the Kaplan-Meier method.A nomogram was developed by using the optimal features selected by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression in the training cohort(n=111)and evaluated in the validation cohort(n=60).Results:The indicators integrated in the nomogram were TNM stage,neuron-specific enolase,carcino-embryonic antigen,CD8 center of tumor(CT),CD8 invasive margin(IM),Fox P3 CT,and CD45 ROCT.The calibration curve showed prominent agreement between the observed 2-and 5-year OS and that predicted by the nomogram.To simplify the nomogram,we developed a new immune-serum scoring system(I-SSS)based on the points awarded for each factor in the nomogram.Our I-SSS was able to stratify same-stage patients into different risk subgroups.The combination of I-SSS and TNM stage had better prognostic value than the TNM stage alone.Conclusions:Our new I-SSS can accurately and individually predict LUAD prognosis and may be used to supplement prognostication based on the TNM stage. | Qiujuan Huang Tongyuan Qu Lisha Qi Changxu Liu Yuhong Guo Qianru Guo Guangning Li Yalei Wang Wenshuai Zhang Wei Zhao Danyang Ren Leina Sun Shengguang Wang Bin Meng Baocun Sun Bin Zhang Wenjuan Ma Wenfeng Cao | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,2: | 0 |

| 15 | Multidisciplinary team for the diagnosis and treatment of 2cases of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor显示文摘Extragonadal primary yolk sac tumor of the intestinal tract origin is exceedingly rare. Through a multiple disciplinary team, the diagnosis and treatment of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor were further defined. We report 2 such cases with detailed histologic and immunohistochemical analysis. The two patients were a 7-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman. Both of them preoperatively had an elevated serum alpha fetoprotein(AFP) level(≥ 1,210 ng/mL). The tumors are located in the intestine and imaging examination indicated the rectum as the primary site. Grossly the mass was grey-white and crisp texture. Microscopic examination featured reticular, microcystic, macrocystic, papillary, solid, and some glandular patterns. Immunohistochemically,tumor cells of both cases were positive for SALL4, AFP, pan-cytokeratin(AE1/AE3), and glypican-3. Simultaneously, a stain for EMA, OCT4, CD30, HCG, vimentin and CK20 were negative in all 2 neoplasms.
