| 1 | Improvements on global meteorological observations from the current Fengyun 3 satellites and beyond显示文摘The Fengyun 3(FY-3)series is the second generation of Chinese sun-synchronous meteorological satellites.The first two,FY-3A and FY-3B,were launched successfully on 27 May 2008 and 5 November 2010,respectively.FY-3A and FY-3B share the same design,equipped with 11 payloads to observe the Earth system,but FY-3A is on a monitoring-orbit and FY-3B is on an afternoon-orbit.As a satellite constellation,FY-3A and FY-3B comprehensively improved meteorological observations in spectral wavelength,spatial coverage,and temporal frequency.This paper summarizes the improvements of the FY-3A and FY-3B satellites.New features,including optical imaging capacity from kilometer to hundred-meter resolution,passive microwave imaging,atmospheric temperature and moisture sounding,atmospheric chemistry remote sensing,and Earth radiation budget measurement,are presented with demonstrations of their use.Instruments scheduled for the FY-3C and beyond are introduced as well. | Jun Yang Peng Zhang Naimeng Lu Zhongdong Yang Jinming Shi Chaohua Dong | 2012 | International Journal of Digital Earth2012,5,3: | 11 |
| 2 | BRIF and CARIF progress显示文摘China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) is currently constructing Beijing rare ion beam facility (BRIF) and is proposing China advanced rare ion beam facility (CARIF). This paper is aiming at introducing the progress of BRIF project and the con ceptual design CARIF. The ISOL type facility BRIF under construction is composed of a 100 MeV 300 ?A proton cyclotron, an ISOL with mass resolution of 20000, and a super-conducting LINAC of 2 MeV/q, and will be commissioned in 2013. CARIF facility proposed is planned to use both ISOL and PF techniques. It is based on a China advanced research reactor CARR that was critical, with ISOL separation of fission fragment, post acceleration to 150 MeV/u, and fragmentation of neu tron-rich fission fragment beam like 132Sn. | 3 | System integration of China's first PEMFC locomotive显示文摘In the face of growing environmental pollution,developing a fuel-cell-driven shunting locomotive is a great challenge in China for environmental protection and energy saving,which combines the environmental advantages of an electric locomotive with the lower infrastructure costs of a diesel-electric locomotive.In this paper,the investigation status and the development trend of the fuel-cell-driven shunting locomotive were introduced.Through innovation of the power system using fuel cells,an experiment prototype of a fuel-cell shunting locomotive was developed,which would reduce the effects on the environment of the existing locomotives.This was the first locomotive to use a proton exchange membrane fuel-cell(PEMFC) power plant in China.From October 2012,we started to test the fuel-cell power plant and further test runs on the test rail-line in Chengdu,Sichuan.The achieved encouraging results can provide fundamental data for the modification of the current individual fuel cell locomotives or further development of the fuel-cell hybrid ones in China. | WeiRong Chen Fei Peng Zhixiang Liu Qi Li Chaohua Dai | 2013 | Journal of Modern Transportation2013,21,3: | 7 |

| 10 | Mutant Huntingtin Causes a Selective Decrease in the Expression of Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2C显示文摘Huntington's disease(HD) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by a polyglutamine expansion in the huntingtin(Htt) protein. Mutant Htt causes synaptic transmission dysfunctions by interfering in the expression of synaptic proteins, leading to early HD symptoms.Synaptic vesicle proteins 2(SV2 s), a family of synaptic vesicle proteins including 3 members, SV2 A, SV2 B, and SV2 C, plays important roles in synaptic physiology. Here,we investigated whether the expression of SV2 s is affected by mutant Htt in the brains of HD transgenic(TG) mice and Neuro2 a mouse neuroblastoma cells(N2 a cells)expressing mutant Htt. Western blot analysis showed that the protein levels of SV2 A and SV2 B were not significantly changed in the brains of HD TG mice expressing mutant Htt with 82 glutamine repeats. However, in the TG mouse brain there was a dramatic decrease in the protein level of SV2 C, which has a restricted distribution pattern in regions particularly vulnerable in HD. Immunostaining revealed that the immunoreactivity of SV2 C was progressively weakened in the basal ganglia and hippocampus of TG mice. RT-PCR demonstrated that the mRNA level of SV2 C progressively declined in the TG mouse brain without detectable changes in the mRNA levels of SV2 A and SV2 B, indicating that mutant Htt selectively inhibits the transcriptional expression of SV2 C. Furthermore, we found that only SV2 C expression was progressively inhibited in N2 a cells expressing a mutant Htt containing120 glutamine repeats.
