1Reliability analysis of marine risers with narrow and long corrosion defects under combined loads显示文摘A marine riser, one of the most important components of offshore oil/gas transportation, needs to be designed to eliminate the risks caused by complex ocean environments, platform displacement and internal corrosion, etc. In this study, a new analytical-numerical assessment approach is proposed in order to quantitatively investigate the reliability of internally corroded risers under combined loads including axial tension and internal pressure. First, an analytical solution of the limit state function of intact risers under combined loads is obtained, which is further modified by the non-dimensional corrosion depth(d/ t) for the risers with a narrow and long corrosion defect. The relationship between d/t and limited internal pressure is obtained by finite element analysis and nonlinear regression. Through an advanced first-order reliability method(HL-RF) algorithm, reliability analysis is performed to obtain the failure probability, the reliability index and the sensitivity. These results are further verified by Monte-Carlo importance sampling. 3Effects of chronic dexamethasone administration on hyperglycemia and insulin release in goats显示文摘Background: Dexamethasone(Dex), a synthetic glucocorticoid, is among the most commonly used drugs worldwide in animals and humans as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. GC has profound effects on plasma glucose level and other metabolic conditions. However, the effect of prolonged use of Dex on glucose metabolism in ruminants is still unclear.Results: Ten goats were randomly assigned to two groups: the control goats were injected with saline, and the Dex-treated goats were intramuscularly injected daily for 21 d with 0.2 mg/kg Dex. The results showed that plasma glucose and insulin concentrations were significantly increased after Dex administration(P < 0.05). Additionally, the content of hepatic glycogen was also markedly increased in Dex-treated goats(P < 0.01), while the content of glycogen in dorsal longissimus was unchanged by Dex(P > 0.05). The expression of several key genes, involved in blood glucose regulation, was detected by real-time PCR in the small intestine, skeletal muscle and liver. The expression of glucose transporter type 2(GLUT2), sodium-glucose transporter 1(SGLT1) and sodium-potassium ATPase(Na-K/ATPase) in the small intestine were generally increased by Dex, and GLUT2 m RNA expression was significantly up-regulated(P < 0.05). In liver, the expression of genes involved in gluconeogenesis including glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic subunit(G6 PC), cytosolic form of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase(PCK1) and pyruvate carboxylase(PC), were significantly down-regulated by Dex. However, the protein expression levels of PCK1 & PCK2 were significantly increased by Dex, suggesting a post-transcriptional regulation. In dorsal longissimus, the m RNA expression of genes associated with gluconeogenesis and the insulin signaling pathway were generally upregulated by Dex, but the m RNA expression of two markers of muscle atrophy, namely F-box protein 32(FBXO32/Atrogin1) and muscle RING-finger protein 1(Mu RF1), was not altered by Dex.Conclusions: Taken together, these results indicate that chronic administration of a low dosage of Dex induces hyperglycemia mainly through gluconeogenesis activation in the goat liver.Liqiong Niu Qu Chen Canfeng Hua Yali Geng Liuping Cai Shiyu Tao Yingdong Ni Ruqian Zhao 2018Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2018,9,3:1

6uSensing:a Universal Platform to Support Smartphones Accessing Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘This paper presents a universal platform 'uSensing' to support smartphones to communicate with sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).Since phones have different CPU processers and operating systems,it is a challenge to merge these heterogeneities and develop such a universal platform.In this paper,we design both hardware and software to support the 'universal' feature of uSensing:1) 'uSD' card:an IEEE 802.15.4 physical communication card with SD interface;2) 'uSinkWare':a WSNs middleware running on smartphones.Integrated with uSD card and uSinkWare,phones become mobile data sinks to access into WSNs and parse messages from sensor nodes.We demonstrate the proposed uSensing platform in a commercial smartphone to connect with our WSNs testbed,and validate that the smartphone has the same WSNs functions as commercial fixed sink.Additionally,we evaluate the performance of uSensing platform through measuring phone's CPU load and power consumption,and analyze the performance of these metrics theoretically.The results suggest that the phone-based mobile sink has enough capability to serve as a mobile sink of WSNs and can work up to twenty hours due to low power consumption.He Nengqiang Jiang Chunxiao Dong Yuhan Ren Yong Chen Canfeng 2012China Communications2012,9,4:0
7OFDM and FH Signal Recognition Based on Cumulants and SPWVD Spectrum Cancellation for Internet of Things显示文摘Considering the Gaussian asymptotic features of OFDM signals,the identification method of it is proposed in this paper by using the cumulants of the wavelet transform coefficients in different layer in a low SNR circumstance.Furthermore,taking the coexistence of the OFDM and Frequency Hopping(FH) signals into account,a new way to separate FH and OFDM signals is proposed based on SPWVD spectrum cancellation,and it can be used to estimate the FH parameters.The simulation results show that the OFDM and single-carrier signals can be identified with a high correct rate of 95% even at-6 dB SNR;meanwhile,the separation of mixed OFDM and FH signals can be achieved with a low SNR of-6 dB,and FH parameters can be estimated accurately.It shows that the recognition performance is improved by about 5 dB compared with the traditional method.Zhang Hongxin Wu Yanling Wang Haiqing Chen Canfeng 2012China Communications2012,9,5:0
