2山东临淄金岭镇一号东汉墓显示文摘In order to suit the Qilu 300, 000 ton ethylene project, the Institute excavated a largesized brick-chambered tomb within the plant area to the south of Jiming town, Linzi city, Shandong province, from 1985 to 1986. It is a magnificent grave with a huge barrow above the ground,a tomb-passage sloping down to the inside and a structure made of rectangular and wedge-shaped bricks in an earth pit 23.6m long and 17.4m wide. The interial structure consists of an eastern and a western side chambers, a passage, an antechamber, and a rear chamber surrounded by winding corridors on three sides. The antechamber is a horizontal rectangle in plan and is formed with the rear chamber into a standard layout with 'the hall in the front while the living room at the back'. The side chambers and winding corridors have arched tops and remain in a good condition. The top of the antechamber has fallen. The rear chamber is also topped with an arch, which is constructed of wedge-shaped bricks in three layers and reaches 6m in height. The foundations of the tomb walls are built of long narrow slabstones, some slabs bearing incised characters such as 'zhong 中' and 'Lu 吕'. The tomb floor is elaboratedly paved with bricks, and charcoal and fine sand are laid over beneath the floors of the antechamber,rear chamber and winding corridors. The tomb is heavily looted. The coffin and human skeleton have disappeared. The surviving funeral objects are mostly pottery,the rest including bronzes, irons, jade and stone vessels,and scattered pieces of a silver-thread-sawn jade shroad. They number more than 100 in total. The unearthed terra-cotta house and storehouse models are rare treasures for their magnificent superficies. The tomb comes from the early Eastern Han period. 4Genetic diversity of Chinese summer soybean germplasm revealed by SSR markers显示文摘There are abundant soybean germplasm in China. In order to assess genetic diversity of Chinese sum- mer soybean germplasm, 158 Chinese summer soybean ac- cessions from the primary core collection of G. max were used to analyze genetic variation at 67 SSR loci. A total of 460 alleles were detected, in which 414 and 419 alleles oc- curred in the 80 Huanghuai and the 78 Southern summer accessions, respectively. The average number of alleles per locus was 6.9 for all the summer accessions, and 6.2 for both Huanghuai and Southern summer accessions. Marker diver- sity (D) per locus ranged from 0.414 to 0.905 with an average of 0.735 for all the summer accessions, from 0.387 to 0.886 with an average of 0.708 for the Huanghuai summer acces- sions, and from 0.189 to 0.884 with an average of 0.687 for the Southern summer accessions. The Huanghuai and Southern summer germplasm were different in the specific alleles, allelic-frequencies and pairwise genetic similarities. UPGMA cluster analysis based on the similarity data clearly separated the Huanghuai from Southern summer soybean accessions, suggesting that they were different gene pools. 6Variations in carbon isotope ratios of C_3 plants and distribution of C_4 plants along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga显示文摘Variations in carbon isotopic ratios (δ 13C) of C3 plants and distribution of C4 plants were investigated along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga, and the environmental effects on them were discussed. It is shown that plants with C4 photosynthetic pathway mainly occur at altitudes below 2100 m a.s.l., suggesting that the low summer temperature is responsible for the distributional pattern. In addition, δ 13C of C3 plants increases with elevation at the region above 2000 m a.s.l. with the characteristics of humid climate, and the increase rate in δ 13C for C3 plants is about 1.3‰ per kilometer. 7扬州宋大城西门发掘报告显示文摘The excavation of the western gate of the Great City, Song period Yangzhou, discovered the stratigraphical superimposition of the western gates respectively belonging to the Five Dynasties period Zhou Dynasty Lesser City, the Northern Song period District City, the Southern Song period Great City and the Ming and Qing Yangzhou City,brought to light the formal evolution of this city-gate, and revealed the historical mystery that the Zhou Dynasty Lesser City was also the Song period Great City. At the end of the Northern Song period, the Song and Jin dynasties were confronting each other, and Yangzhou became an anti-Jin forward position. To meet military needs, a barbican was added outside the western city-gate. The gate itself was built of bricks and must have been vaulted judging from the structure of the two side gateways. The great importance of this discovery lies in the fact that the construction of this city-gate was more than 130 years earlier than that of the vaulted city-gate of Heyimen in the Yuan Dadu. The typological features of the western gate cum barbican of the Song period Great City distinctly reflect the defensive function of the three cities of Song period Yangzhou, and provide valuable material for studying ancient urban architecture, military defence and the character of Song period Yangzhou City. 8Mid-Holocene climate change in North China, and the effect on cultural development显示文摘In this study, to reconstruct the paleoclimatic history, pollen and oxygen isotope were analyzed on the 160 samples of a 2.7 m peat core from Taishizhuang, Huailai County, Hebei Province. Combining our data with other information of climate history and archaeology from this area, we found that there is a close linkage between cultural development and the mid-Holocene (6000-3000 cal. aBP) environment changes. The main results and conclusions are presented as the following: The climate during 5678-5400 cal. aBP was unstable and in general colder and drier than today. From 5400 to 4800 cal. aBP the climate was much warmer and wetter than before. The climate during 4800-4300 cal. aBP was persistently cold, with an exceptional cold event occurring at 4600-4300 cal. aBP. This cold event was recorded at several other localities in Northern China even the Northern Hemisphere and played an important role in the cultural development. 15Dating of the Karakorum Strike-slip Fault显示文摘This paper mainly discusses the timing of the Karakorum strike-slip fault, and gives a brief introduction of its structures, offset, and deformational style. This fault strikes NNW-SSE. Asymmetrical folds, stretching lineation, S-C fabrics, feldspar and quartz (-porphyroclasts, domino structure, shear cleavages and faults in the fault zone are products of tectonic movements. They all indicate a dextral slip sense of faulting. Mylonitic bands are widely developed along this fault. Phengite appears, indicating rather high deformational pressure. Geochronological data indicate that the Karakorum strike-slip faulting occurred from 6.88(0.36 to 8.75(0.25 Ma. 17Paleomagnetic dating of the Cenjiawan Paleolithic site in the Nihewan Basin, northern China显示文摘Rock magnetic and magnetostratigraphic investigations on a lacustrine sequence in the Nihewan Basin, northern China, which bears the Cenjiawan Paleolithic site, indicate that the dominant magnetic mineral and remanence carrier contained in the sediments is magnetite. While hematite co-exists with magnetite in some portions of the Cenjiawan sequence, where characteristic remanent magnetizations are carried by both magnetite and hematite. Measurements of anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility confirm that the Cenjiawan sequence has preserved the original sedimentary features and is suitable for magnetostratigraphic study. Paleomagnetic results indicate that the Cenjiawan Paleolithic site is formed just posterior to the Punaruu normal event, which is dated at about 1.1 Ma. Combined with the paleomagnetic results of the Donggutuo, Xiaochangliang and Majuangou sections, it is concluded that early humans were occupying the Nihewan Basin around 1.6, 1.3 and 1.1 Ma. 20The non-destructive analysis of ancient jade artifacts unearthed from the Liangzhu sites at Yuhang,Zhejiang显示文摘Samples of the jade artifacts unearthed from the Liangzhu sites at Yuhang (Fanshan,Yaoshan, Huiguanshan and Tangshan) of Zhejiang province were described. The chemical composition, phase and jade structure of a hundred and more intact samples were analyzed by the non-destructive techniques of PIXE, XRD and laser Raman spectroscopy. Results showed that the minerals of the jade artifacts mostly belonged to tremolite and tremolite-actinolite. Relationship of the civilization development in the Neolithic age and the application of tremolite type mineral in jade artifacts was discussed. The contents of rare and trace elements in tremolite jade artfacts and in mineral samples were measured for the first time.
