Persistent luminescence from Y3Al2Ga3O12 doped with Ce3+ and Cr3+ after X-ray and blue light irradiation显示文摘The persistent luminescence(PersL)dependence on the dopants and derived mechanism of trapping and de-trapping processes were investigated in Y3Al2Ga3O12(YAGG)based nanophosphor, doped with Ce^3+and/or Cr^3+.It is found that the presence of Cr^3+ions produce electron and hole traps and capture suitable charge after X-ray irradiation. The effect of irradiation on the carriers trapping and their pathways after excitation was studied by means of thermo luminescence technique. On the other hand, for blue light irradiation the mechanism seems to be different. In the latter case, the Ce^3+ions,having the position of energy levels in the conduction band, become sensitizers for the electrons and main emission centres for the PersL(de-trapping process goes through Ce^3+). | V.Boiko J.Zeler M.Markowska Z.Dai A.Gerus P.Bolek E.Zych D.Hreniak | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,11: | 2
Cathodoluminescent properties of Tb^(3+)-doped yttria nanocrystallites显示文摘The Tb3+-doped Y2O3 nanopowders were synthesized using the modified Pechini method. The average size of nanocrystallites was controlled by different sintering temperatures. The structure and morphology of obtained nanopowders were examined using the XRD and SEM analyses. The Cr:Al2O3 was mixed with Tb3+:Y2O3 powders and its normalized emission was used to measure a relative intensity of Tb3+:Y2O3. The mixtures were electrophoretically deposited on ITO-glass slides. The cathodoluminescence spectra of obtained layers were recorded and analysed. The discussion over an influence of average grains size on phosphor efficiency was presented. | P.Psuja D.Hreniak W.Strek | 2009 | Journal of Rare Earths2009,27,4: | 2
Synthesis, structure and NIR luminescence properties of Yb^3+ and Bi^3+-activated vanadate GdVO4显示文摘Near-infrared emission of Yb^(3+) and Bi^(3+)-co-doped GdVO_4 vanadate phosphors obtained via the modified Pechini's method was reported. The phase purity and structure of samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy(EDS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Raman and infrared(IR) spectroscopy. Photoluminescence emission(PL) and excitation(PLE) spectra were recorded and investigated in details. Results indicated that upon near-UV excitation(340 nm) in the(Bi^(3+)-V^(5+)) charge transfer state this phosphor had a strong broad band yellow-green emission(~3P_1→~1S_0) of Bi^(3+) ions and also NIR emission(~2F_(5/2)→~2F_(7/2)) of Yb^(3+) ions in the range of 950–1050 nm, which matched well with the spectral response of the silicon-based solar cells. The decreasing Bi^(3+) emission with increasing Yb^(3+) concentration proved the occurrence of energy transfer from Bi^(3+) to Yb^(3+) ions. Results demonstrated that Yb^(3+) and Bi^(3+)-co-doped GdV O4 vanadate phosphors might act as a NIR down-conversion(DC) solar spectral converter to enhance the efficiency of the silicon-based solar cells. | K.Lenczewska M.Stefanski D.Hreniak | 2016 | Journal of Rare Earths2016,34,8: | 2
Laser induced broad band anti-Stokes white emission from LiYbF_4 nanocrystals显示文摘Spectroscopic properties of tetragonal LiYbF_4 nanocrystals under high dense NIR excitation at vacuum condition were investigated. White, broad band emission covering whole visible part of the spectrum from LiYbF_4 nanocrystals was observed. Its intensity strongly depended on the excitation power, excitation wavelength and ambient pressure. Temperature of the nanocrystals under 975 nm excitation was determined as a function of excitation power. Strong photo-induced current was observed from LiYbF_4 pallet. The emission kinetic was analyzed. The mechanism of the anti-Stokes white emission was discussed in terms of the laser-induced charge transfer emission from Yb^(2+) states. | L.Marciniak R.Tomala M.Stefanski D.Hreniak W.Strek | 2016 | Journal of Rare Earths2016,34,3: | 2
Optical studies of Y3(Al,Ga)5O12:Ce3+,Cr3+,Nd3+ nano-phosphors obtained by the Pechini method显示文摘The Y3(AI,Ga)5O12:Ce^3+,Cr^3+,Nd^3+(YAGG)nano-phosphors with homogeneous particle-size distribution, low aggregation and average crystalline size of about 65 nm were obtained using a modified Pechini method.Only slight aggregation of the crystallites occurs after post-annealing at 1100℃.The intense Ce^3+bands in the excitation spectra of the Ce^3+,Cr^3+,Nd^3+co-doped materials monitoring the Cr^3+emission at 690 nm indicate energy transfer from Ce^3+to Cr^3+.Weak Nd^3+lines are observed,as well.In addition, the emission of Nd^3+at 1060 nm with excitation of Ce^3+and Cr^3+confirms the Ce^3+/Cr^3+to Nd^3+energy transfer. The short average luminescence decay times for the Ce^3+emission indicate the Ce^3+/Cr^3+to Nd^3+energy transfer.Eventually, the Y3(AI,Ga)5O12:Ce^3+,Cr^3+,Nd^3+nano-phosphors exhibit persistent luminescence originating from the 4f^3→4f^3 transitions of Nd^3+which matches well to the first biological window to be used in bioimaging applications. | Z.Dai V.Boiko M.Markowska A.Gerus K.Grzeszkiewicz J.Holsa M.L.Saladino D.Hreniak | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,11: | 2
Influence of coating on the photoluminescence of Tb^3+ doped ZnSe/ZnS core-shell quantum dots显示文摘Tb^(3+)-doped ZnSe and ZnSe/ZnS nanocrystals were synthesized using modified hot-injection method. The observation of the characteristic quantum dots absorption features in a time-gated excitation spectrum was recorded while monitoring Tb^(3+) emission at 545 nm provided direct evidence for successful incorporation of dopant ions into semiconductor host.Relatively long decay time(~1.5 ms) of Tb^(3+) emission indicated that dopant ions were well protected from interaction with surface ligands.Emission properties of core ZnSe:Tb^(3+) nanocrystals were only slightly modified upon growth of ZnS shell.. | J.Cichos M.Karbowiak D.Hreniak W.Strek | 2016 | Journal of Rare Earths2016,34,8: | 1
Governing of down-shifting processes in LiLaP_4O_(12):Tb^(3+),Yb^(3+) for enhancement of its near-infrared emission显示文摘Downshifting behavior of the Tb^(3+)-Yb^(3+) co-doped nanocrystalline LiL aP 4O12 powders synthesized by co-precipitation method was presented and discussed. The structural phase purity of obtained material was confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)measurements. Strong enhancement of ytterbium 2~F_(5/2)→~2F_(7/2) emission intensity was observed with decreasing Tb^(3+) concentration under UV excitation. Dependence of efficiency of energy transfer between dopants on pumping wavelength was investigated due to better understanding of down-shifting mechanism. It was found that luminescence intensity of Yb^(3+) decreased above 10 mol.% dopant content, what was caused by concentration quenching. The power dependence measurements were carried out at 77 and 300 K. The resulting slopes had the same value of 1, what indicated the existence of linear down-shifting process, independent of the temperature. | K.Grzeszkiewicz L.Marciniak D.Hreniak | 2016 | Journal of Rare Earths2016,34,8: | 0
