| 2 | Air/CO2 cooling garment: Description and benefits of use for subjects exposed to a hot and humid climate during physical activities显示文摘The severity of the hot and humid conditions to which miners are exposed increases as the depth of the work site increases.This can cause heat stress that can greatly affect the health and safety of workers.To resolve this,a cooling garment has been developed that uses an atmospheric discharge of liquid CO2 to create a cool microclimate with an average temperature of 12.5(±0.4)℃ beneath the garment.To evaluate the garment's cooling efficiency,19 male subjects participated in an experimental procedure.The two modes,cooling on and off,were compared.Significant physiological differences were found between the two modes after minute 27(p<0.05)until the end of the recovery phase for the heart rate(maximum difference of 10 beats per minute)and the internal body temperature(maximum difference of 0.33℃).It was found that the modes also affected the subjects'perceptions.The ON-mode was associated with better well-being and thermal comfort,and reduced humidity sensation.Perceptions of exertion were lower in the ON-mode condition from minute 2.The findings provide strong evidence of the ability of this cooling garment to reduce heat stress in hot and humid conditions similar to those encountered in deep mines. | Chady Al Sayed Ludwig Vinches Olivier Dupuy Wafa Douzi Benoit Dugue Stephane Halle | 2019 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019，29，6： | 10 |

| 4 | Development of a multiple level underground limestone mine from geology through mine planning显示文摘The development of a multiple level underground mine is a complex task in which geology,engineering,ground control,and unit operations are integrated into a single mine design.The components are interdependent and must function cohesively to ensure a profitable underground mining operation.To optimize reserve recovery,mine planning should begin from the lowest level and progress up.This limits any misjudgments or oversights of a given level affecting the underlying levels and ensures the ability to maximize recovery from each level.Mine planning should start with the exploration and characterization of the geologic setting.Once the reserve geology and quality is well understood,then mine planning can begin with respect to the following:(1)orientation of mine works with respect to horizontal stress;(2)access to the reserve;(3)determination of opening widths;(4)selection of back,floor horizons and pillar centers;(5)selection of development and secondary mining heights;(6)appropriate inter-burden thicknesses;and(7)examining the stability of the multiple level mine through numerical modeling.The multiple level mine design process and decisions are presented through a case history example.The theme is that there is one opportunity to'get it right'and many chances to overlook a small aspect within the design that will plague the mine throughout all levels and through the entirety of its operating life. | Christopher Newman David Newman Robert Dupuy | 2020 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020，30，1： | 3 |
| 5 | Perioperative glucose management and outcomes in liver transplant recipients: A qualitative systematic review显示文摘AIM To investigate the relationship between post-liver transplantation(LT) glycemic control and LT outcomes. METHODS A qualitative systematic review on relevant prospective interventions designed to control glucose levels including insulin protocols. Studies investigating an association between glycemic control and post-LT outcomes such as mortality, graft rejection, and infection rate were reviewed. Pub Med, EMBASE, and other databases were searched through October 2016. RESULTS Three thousands, six hundreds and ninety-two patients from 14 studies were included. Higher mortality rate was seen when blood glucose(BG) ≥ 150 mg/dL(P = 0.05). BG ≥ 150 mg/dL also led to higher rates of infection. Higher rates of graft rejection were seen at BG > 200 mg/dL(P < 0.001). Mean BG ≥ 200 mg/dL was associated with more infections(P = 0.002).Nurse-initiated protocols and early screening strategies have shown a reduction in negative post-LT outcomes.CONCLUSION Hyperglycemia in the perioperative period is associated with poor post-LT outcomes. | 7 | Methods to produce induced pluripotent stem cell-derived mesenchymal stem cells: Mesenchymal stem cells from induced pluripotent stem cells显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have received significant attention in recent years due to their large potential for cell therapy.Indeed,they secrete a wide variety of immunomodulatory factors of interest for the treatment of immune-related disorders and inflammatory diseases.MSCs can be extracted from multiple tissues of the human body.However,several factors may restrict their use for clinical applications:the requirement of invasive procedures for their isolation,their limited numbers,and their heterogeneity according to the tissue of origin or donor.In addition,MSCs often present early signs of replicative senescence limiting their expansion in vitro,and their therapeutic capacity in vivo.Due to the clinical potential of MSCs,a considerable number of methods to differentiate induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)into MSCs have emerged.iPSCs represent a new reliable,unlimited source to generate MSCs(MSCs derived from iPSC,iMSCs)from homogeneous and well-characterized cell lines,which would relieve many of the above mentioned technical and biological limitations.Additionally,the use of iPSCs prevents some of the ethical concerns surrounding the use of human embryonic stem cells.In this review,we analyze the main current protocols used to differentiate human iPSCs into MSCs,which we classify into five different categories:MSC Switch,Embryoid Body Formation,Specific Differentiation,Pathway Inhibitor,and Platelet Lysate.We also evaluate common and method-specific culture components and provide a list of positive and negative markers for MSC characterization.Further guidance on material requirements to produce iMSCs with these methods and on the phenotypic features of the iMSCs obtained is added.The information may help researchers identify protocol options to design and/or refine standardized procedures for large-scale production of iMSCs fitting clinical demands. | Victoria Dupuis Elisa Oltra | 2021 | World Journal of Stem Cells2021，13，8： | 2 |
