| 1 | Colonization of Bacillus cereus NJSZ-13,a species with nematicidal activity in Masson pine(Pinus massoniana Lamb.)显示文摘Bacillus cereus NJSZ-13,an endophytic bacterium with nematicidal activity,was isolated from stems of healthy Pinus elliottii Engelm.Colonization of P.massoniana Lamb.by endophytic B.cereus was studied using scanning electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy.After the plasmid p GFP78 containing the green fluorescent protein(GFP)gene was transformed into the NJSZ-13 strain,the NJSZ-13:gfp showed the same nematicidal activity and growth curve as the wild-type strain,and the plasmid p GFP78 was stably maintained in strain NJSZ-13 for at least 96 h of bacterial cultivation on medium without antibiotics.After inoculation into Masson pine roots,colonization of the NJSZ-13:gfp strain in plant roots and stems was visualized using confocal laser scanning and the strain was enumerated in inoculated roots and stems.These results suggest that NJSZ-13:gfp is an efficient colonizer of Masson pine and can transfer vertically from roots to stems. | Liangliang Li Jiajin Tan Fengmao Chen Dejun Hao | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,3: | 4 |
| 2 | A UNIFIED MULTIAXIAL FATIGUE DAMAGE PARAMETER显示文摘According to the critical plane principle,a unified multiaxial fatigue damage parameteris presented based on the varying behaviour of the strains on the critical plane.Both the parameters ofthe maximum shear strain amplitude and normal strain excursion between adjacent turning points ofthe maximum shear strain on the critical plane are considered in the multiaxiaI fatigue damage parame-ter presented.An equivalent strain amplitude is made with both parameters of the maximun shearstrain amplitude and normal strain excursion by means of yon Mises criterion.Thus a new multiaxialfatigue damage model is given based on the critical plane approach.The results show that the multiaxi-al fatigue damage parameter proposed in this paper may be used under either proportional or nonpro-portional loading,and may also be reduced to a uniaxial form.It is used to predict multiaxial fatiguelife and good agreement is demonstrated by experimental data. | Shang Deguang Wang Dejun Xu Hao | 1998 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica1998,11,3: | 4 |

| 8 | Biological traits and life history of Pagiophloeus tsushimanus(Coleoptera:Curculionidae),a weevil pest on camphor trees in China显示文摘Cinnamomum camphora(L.)J.Presl.(Laurales:Lauraceae)is widely cultivated as an important landscape tree species in many urban areas in South China,especially in Shanghai City.Pagiophloeus tsushimanus Morimoto has become a destructive insect pest of C.camphora plantations in Shanghai,but the biological and ecological traits of this pest remain largely unknown.In this study,we investigated the damage and life history and determined the larval instar of P.tsushimanus.The results indicated that P.tsushimanus is a monophagous weevil pest,and C.camphora is the unique host tree species.C.camphora plantations in all administrative districts of Shanghai have been seriously damaged by P.tsushimanus.Adults often aggregate for feeding on the tender bark of twigs and occasionally on newly emerged buds.After experiencing damage,the twigs shrink and crack and the buds will shrink.Adults tend to repeatedly mate and oviposit,and all females lay single eggs at a time.Eggs will be covered with a mixture of secretions and wood chips by female adults.Larvae(1 st-2 nd instar)feed on the phloem,while 3 rd-5 th instar can bore into the phloem and the cambium.Massive tunnels,including three shapes(inverted'L',inverted'T',and inverted'Z'),were observed in the trunk of each tree,and resulted in swelling of the outer bark.P.tsushimanus has one life cycle per year in Shanghai.Both adults and larvae(3 rd-5 th instar)overwinter from early November to early April.Adults overwinter in grooves on the underside of branches or at branch nodes,and larvae overwinter in tunnels.Five larval instars of P.tsushimanus were determined according to Dyar’s and Crosby’s rules.The biological traits and life history of P.tsushimanus have been identified and can provide guidance in terms of pest control and plantation management. | Cong Chen Congcong Zhang Shouyin Li Han Zhu Binqi Fan Yan Wang Peng Su Yangyang Han Dejun Hao | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,5: | 0 |
| 9 | The eff ects of temperature and host size on the development of Brachymeria lasus parasitising Hyphantria cunea显示文摘Brachymeria lasus Walker is a solitary endoparasitoid that attacks the pupae of a wide range of lepidopteran hosts,including an important invasive species,the fall webworm(Hyphantria cunea Drury).We studied the relationship between temperature and development of B.lasus from egg to adult hatching.The results show a decrease in parasitoid development time from 34.4 days at 18°C to 10.6 days at 32°C.The minimum threshold temperature of B.lasus was 13.2°C±1.7°C,and the eff ective accumulated temperature was 210.3±28.7 degree days.These results provide a basis for optimizing the production of this parasitoid.In addition,the eff ects of host size on off spring performance of B.lasus were investigated under laboratory conditions.Off spring longevity,size,and percentage of females were positively correlated with host size.Female off spring are larger and live longer than males.Furthermore,this research showed that parasitoid adults successfully emerged from approximately 27.9%of pupae.However,eclosion or hatching of H.cunea decreased dramatically,which may be due to damage caused by female B.lasus when testing hosts with their ovipositors or by feeding on them.The results suggest that B.lasus has the potential to become an effi cient natural enemy for controlling H.cunea. | Shuo Tian Tianzi Gu Cong Chen Xudong Zhao Pengcheng Liu Dejun Hao | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,1: | 0 |

| 13 | Topography modulates effects of nitrogen deposition on microbial resource limitation in a nitrogen-saturated subtropical forest显示文摘Background:Nitrogen(N)saturation theory proposes that an ecosystem might switch from N limitation to carbon(C),phosphorus(P),or other nutrient limitations if it receives continuous N input.Yet,after N limitation is removed,which nutrient is the most limited and whether topography modulates such change is rarely tested at a microbial level.Here,we conducted a two-year N addition experiment under two different topography positions(i.e.a slope and a valley)in a N-saturated subtropical forest.Soil enzyme activity was measured,and ecoenzymatic stoichiometry indexes were calculated as indicators of microbial resource limitation.Results:In the valley,two-year N addition changed the activity of all studied enzymes to various degrees.As a result,microbial C limitation was aggravated in the valley,and consequently microbial decomposition of soil labile organic C increased,but microbial P limitation was alleviated due to the stoichiometry balance.On the slope,however,N addition did not significantly change the activity of the studied enzymes,and did not alter the status of microbial resource limitation.Conclusions:These results indicate that C is a more limited element for microbial growth than P after removing N limitation,but we also highlight that topography can regulate the effect of N deposition on soil microbial resource limitation in subtropical forests.These findings provide useful supplements to the N saturation theory. | Hao Chen Junjie Tang Xibin Sun Kayan Ma Huaihai Chen Dejun Li | 2021 | Forest Ecosystems2021,8,4: | 0 |
