1Numerical and experimental investigation of the fracture behavior of shock loaded alumina显示文摘Plate impact expeiments are conducted to investigate the dynamic behavior of alumina by using one stage light gas gun. A ve-locity interferometer system for reflectors (VISAR) is used to obtain Hugoniot elastic limit and the free surface velocity profile,which consists of an elastic wave followed immediately by a dispersive inelastic wave. The stress histories under different impact velocities are measured by in-material manganin gauges. Based on the experimental data a Hugoniot curve is fitted,which shows the compressive characteristics that alumina changes typically from elastic to 'plastic' ,and under higher pressure it will be transferred to similar-fluid state. The turning point of the Hugoniot curve from a high pressure region to a low pressure region is about 11.4 GPa. The fracture process of alumina is simulated by way of finite element code. After the analysis of the fracture mechanism,the numerical results show an important role played by the nucleation and the growth of the cracks in the macro-scopic fracture of the alumina target. 2A first-principles investigation into the hydrogen bond interaction in β-HMX显示文摘A theoretical study of structural and electronic properties of β-HMX crystal is performed using density-functional theory(DFT). The total density of states(TDOS) is presented. The atomic orbit projected density of state(PDOS) from the p-type orbit of C,N,O and the s-type orbit of H is discussed. The study by analyzing the PDOS shows that the structure of β-HMX crystal possesses C-H···O intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding. There exists a hydrogen bonding between H5 -1s and O12 -2p orbits,between H19 -1s and O28 -2p orbits of intra molecules,and between H19 -1s and O24 -2p orbits of inter molecules. 3Large eddy simulation of a shocked gas cylinder instability induced turbulence显示文摘The Navier-Stokes equations for compressible fluid are solved with the operator splitting technique and LES (large eddy simulation) with the Smagorinsky model. A computational code MVFT (multi-viscosity-fluid and turbulence) is developed to study hydrodynamic instability and the induced turbulent mixing for multi compressible fluid. In order to validate the code MVFT,the LANL's shock tube experiment of shocked SF6 gas cylinder is simulated with the initial state of SF6 gas cylinder described by dissipative ITL (interface transition layer). It is shown that the width and height of gas cylinder calculated with MVFT are closer to the experimental results than RAGE,and that the velocities of upstream edge,downstream edge and vortex edge agree with the experimental results,and are appreciably smaller than the RAGE results. 4Effects of viscosity on shock-induced damping of an initial sinusoidal disturbance显示文摘A lack of reliable data treatment method has been for several decades the bottleneck of viscosity measurement by disturbance amplitude damping method of shock waves.In this work the finite difference method is firstly applied to obtain the numerical solutions for disturbance amplitude damping behavior of sinusoidal shock front in inviscid and viscous flow.When water shocked to 15 GPa is taken as an example,the main results are as follows:(1) For inviscid and lower viscous flows the numerical method gives results in good agreement with the analytic solutions under the condition of small disturbance(a0/λ=0.02);(2) For the flow of viscosity beyond 200 Pa s(η=κ) the analytic solution is found to overestimate obviously the effects of viscosity.It is attributed to the unreal pre-conditions of analytic solution by Miller and Ahrens;(3) The present numerical method provides an effective tool with more confidence to overcome the bottleneck of data treatment when the effects of higher viscosity in experiments of Sakharov and flyer impact are expected to be analyzed,because it can in principle simulate the development of shock waves in flows with larger disturbance amplitude,higher viscosity,and complicated initial flow.MA XiaoJuan1,LIU FuSheng1 & JING FuQian2 1 College of Physical Science and Technology,Southwest Jiaotong University,Chengdu 610031,China 2 Laboratory for Shock Wave and Detonation Physics Research,Institute of Fluid Physics,Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics,Mianyang 621900,China 2010Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,5:2

15The critical behavior of shear modulus in solid-liquid mixing phase显示文摘The behavior of shear modulus in solid-liquid mixing phase has been discussed and analyzed. The result was concluded that shear modulus went to zero as the melting mass ratio attained a critical value. The percolation theory model we pro-posed showed that this value was about 0.68742.
